Im afraid God may leave me
Willa replied to Figure of eighty's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
We never rely on the way we feel. We always rely on God's word. God does not lie. He cannot lie. Satan is the father of lies. So if what you feel disagrees with God's word, it is a lie! Over and over God has told us He will never leave us or forsake us. Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. Heb 13:5 Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] [Jos 1:5] -
You claim to be male but have had several babies. The sounds like a hypothetical case in one of your stories, since you are teaching the truth of Christ. The post is just wrong from so many things you state. If it is genuine I would suggest you ask for one on one counseling, and you should not be teaching because you are an adulterer still living in sin.

You worshipped God right there in your prayer. Any time our hearts are in awe and appreciation of Who He IS, we worship Him. We may not say a word but we may be moved to tears at the attributes of our Creator. He is so faithful and loving to us who deserve only death and torture. Our hearts communicate with Him without words, or we can express our awe and worship to others. God inhabits the praise of His people. It is a joy to worship Him in a congregation of like minded people, whether in hymns of praise in words of adoration. When we tell others what a wondrous God we serve, we also worship Him. Holy is His Name!

Jeanne is my favorite comedian. I once bought several of her cds. Thank you for the reminder. My favorite was about her visit to Vancouver Island. Laughed till I cried.

Christians are to obey the law of love and love our neighbors as ourselves. This includes forgiving. This parable concerns people who have been forgiven but who are then unwilling to forgive others and it very much applies to us as born again believers. It shows that they will be chastised severely and even tortured. We are commanded to love and forgive. If Jesus is our Lord and Master, we delight in doing His will. Mat 18:23 Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. Mat 18:24 And when he had begun to settle accounts, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. Mat 18:25 But as he was not able to pay, his master commanded that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and that payment be made. Mat 18:26 The servant therefore fell down before him, saying, 'Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.' Mat 18:27 Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt. Mat 18:28 "But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, 'Pay me what you owe!' Mat 18:29 So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, 'Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.' Mat 18:30 And he would not, but went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt. Mat 18:31 So when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were very grieved, and came and told their master all that had been done. Mat 18:32 Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, 'You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. Mat 18:33 Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?' Mat 18:34 And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him. Mat 18:35 "So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses."

Act 17:30 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, Act 17:31 because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.” “Therefore, O King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, Act 26:20 but declared first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout all the region of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds in keeping with their repentance. Paul was always faithful to his calling to preach repentance and turning away from sin and satan to forgiveness through Christ. However, after salvation 1 John only mentions confessing our sins to God and He will be faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Jesus overturned the tables of the moneychangers who were ripping off the people. We know He isn't pleased with those who use the Gospel as a means of gain. But where there is little choice, we have to remember that no church is perfect and all will have some false doctrine. We must choose the one that is not explicitly encouraging sin.

The problem with some of these political debates is that it takes our focus off the person and work of Jesus on the cross. The first obligation of the church is to take care of the widows and orphans in its own congregation, then in neighboring churches and ministries and in oversees missions. It is not the responsibility of the government. It may be a part of our personal outreach.

Christianity: Happy, Uplifting, or Difficult, Sorrowful?
Willa replied to Mystic_Pizza's topic in General Discussion
Sorry, folks, I am just not as spiritual as Peter James and Paul, and many of you. I don't rejoice when trials come. Yes there is rejoicing and worship in the midst of them because my God is worthy. But I still dread them and resist them. They are exhausting and often overwhelming. I know God loves me and will use them for my good. He will use me to comfort others going through the same afflictions. Counting it all joy is just not where I am at. Knowing that God does all things well and is doing what is best is somewhat comforting. He is a kind and merciful God. He walks with me through them and comforts me, but I don't enjoy physical pain or emotional pain and loss. It is called suffering for a reason. -
Pacifism vs Just War Theory
Willa replied to theInquirer's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
I knew several conscientious objectors from the Viet Nam war. They were medics who became registered nurses that specialized in critical care. Some may go into rehabilitation. Many areas of need in veterans hospitals. -
Is Jesus Christ the Lord and Master of your life? If He is you will not struggle against His divine word. Many places in Scripture is says that there will not be anyone who continuously practice fornication, any sex outside of marriage, that goes to heaven. 1 Cor. 6:9 NKJV Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,[fn] nor sodomites, 1Co 6:10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 1Co 6:11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. Heb 13:4 Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

What Does It Mean To Be Spirit Filled
Willa replied to existential mabel's topic in General Discussion
When we are first saved we surrender our live to Jesus as our Lord and Master, or Supervisor. We want Him to lead us and direct our paths. We ask Him to come into our lives to live and work through us to tell others of His love by word and deed. After some time we may feel we have no more to give, or we may discover other areas of our lives that we need to surrender to to Him. We need to be refilled with His Spirit. As Marilyn, said, we need to be continually filled with Him. Perhaps it is a reminder of our dependance on Him. Sometimes we need to crucify our self life and humble ourselves before Him continually. Just saying, if we are full of ourselves there is little room for Christ. Pride prevents us from surrendering to Him and keeps us in a state of rebellion. These things must be repented of to be filled with the Spirit of God and to be refilled. Being filled with the Holy Spirit results in a greater depth in our relationship with God and a more intimate relationship, a greater desire for purity in our lives and a diminished interest in the values of the world, and more love and power to do God's will. -
I have been reproved for speaking too forcefully many times. It puts me in a difficult position. If I am putting forth a theory or making a guess as to the meaning of something, it is easy to say 'Perhaps it means this:" But if the Lord is inspiring me to speak up I tend to do it with authority and joy or enthusiasm. So it comes across with some boldness.. I can't truthfully say it is my own thought or doing and fumble with my words with uncertainty. Neither am I dogmatic about the interpretation I shared but feel that others may be revealing a different aspect or from a different perspective. Perhaps there is as much fault on the part of the hearer in being closed to new thoughts and to not prayerfully search the scriptures to see of these things are true. Sometimes it is the hearers that are arrogant about their own ideas and quick to judge others. Act 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness. Eph 6:18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, Eph 6:19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, Eph 6:20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

We each are set free according to our unique understanding. For me it is Rom. 8:1 and 8:5 Rom 8:1 NKJV There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Rom 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. When we walk in the Spirit we set our minds on Jesus and His love for those we encounter. It is Christ in us Who reaches out to meet the needs we see. Our focus is on Christ and his working through us. When we focus on what we should not do we end up doing the things we don't want to do. When we look at Jesus and the things His love directs us toward, we do the things we should do.

United Methodists to Vote on LGBTQ Issues
Willa replied to Mozart's Starling's topic in General Discussion
The problem is that too many people seem to members but are not born again believers in God's word. They don't believe the Bible is God breathed and infallible in the original texts. If they believe that the Bible is only man's opinion then they are free to agree or disagree, or, as said, rewrite the Bible. -
Corrie has written many other books. Not Good if Detached, Amazing Love, and her version of The Hiding Place is A Prisoner And Yet. Her version is my favorite because of the simple way that she speaks that reaches into the depths of me. There are may others but those are my favorites. You have to order them from places that carry old books.

I joined because I'm lonely...
Willa replied to Ljsitzer's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Welcome to Worthy. Our pastor believes in equipping us to be the evangelists and lead others to Christ. He has an alter call if it is part of the study, since we study through books of the Bible. I would have a hard time with a sermon that wasn't a Bible study. -
There was one time that God told me to stop praying for a person. I don't even remember who it was, but my prayers were answered a few months later. Sometimes I am led to to stop praying and start praising God for the answer. There are some subjects that I have greater compassion for the situations than others. It doesn't matter who it is, it has to do with what they are praying for. Often I pray that Gods will be done instead of praying as the people request.

Can you message your family or friends in your culture to check in about your day? I do understand because all of mine have died. Some people find it very humiliating for others to help them in any way. Pray and ask God how you can show them love in a way that they find acceptable. I realize it is hard when your spiritual gift is service. But we have to adapt to them. May God bless you and be very near to you, filling your days with His presence.

Num 33:55 But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those of them whom you let remain shall be as barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall trouble you in the land where you dwell. I am sure that this verse also came to Paul's mind. But I have often also though about angel also meaning messenger, and an angel from satan would be a demon. The OP certainly gives a lot to think about.

Most states have different wording in their laws. Pray that these laws that legalize 3rd trimester and full term abortion are successfully overturned by the supreme court. I am very pro life, but also would opt for saving the mother if the choice had to be made. When in nursing school our physiology professor was pro-life and showed us ultrasounds of the baby trying to avoid instruments and being dismembered. It left nightmares. They certainly don't tell abortion candidates all the facts. Our prof. had already handed in her resignation or she would have been fired for showing it. There are a few people who do have psychosis when they are pregnant. One I knew became very paranoid. There was one in the 50s who took a shotgun to her husband and most of her large family. Three of the oldest escaped, one ran to a neighbor's farm for help and 911, and the largest managed to get the gun away from his mom. Their MD had warned them not to have more children. The dad was my dad's boss and I knew several cousins. Both of these women were in churches that prohibited birth control. However, these cases are far and few between, and th exception allowing abortions for mental health was badly abused. On the up side, one who had an abortion said "I don't know how God can ever forgive me for what I have done", and my son led her to the Lord. God can use even this.

We would be glad to help you find scriptures. I use a concordance a lot to find half remembered verses. There are many resources online.

We got down to 4 F last night but I am not complaining but praying for you all in Montana, Wyoming, and west who are way below 0. We finally got our winter weather. At least it won't last too long this time of the year. More snow is on the way and we have 5" now, which is average for our desert. Love those chinooks!

You are so welcome here, Rainatou. Praying for God to heal your soul in the midst of horror and give you His peace. God bless you and your baby and provide all your needs.
