I dont know what to say anymore. I'm so confused as to what to believe.

I know that i'm really really weak and i could be, well, i am deceived.

One further question. Why am i so weak and how can i become stronger in the Lord?

That my friend is the beginning of wisdom, and a cry from the heart for truth and the love of G-d.

Keep listening to your brothers and sisters in the L-rd...they have your interests at heart, and are zealous to see you grow in G-d and not succumb to deception that at this moment comes in the guise of another gospel.

You are weak...just as we all are weak. If you sow to the flesh, you will reap from the flesh.

It takes time to grow in G-d and to understand His ways and to develop character that is molded by the word of G-d and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

You need to learn to be an overcomer...just like we all do.

Get completely right with G-d, confess your sins, and determine in your heart to follow Jesus.

Learn what it means to truely follow the L-rd, and resist following the path of least resistance.

Digest the word of G-d...make it your own, let it become part of you and part of your testimony of the grace of G-d active in your life....

Ok...so you have been a weak Believer up till now, but it is time to draw a line in the sand and determine in your heart that you will no longer be the same weak image of that person that you carry in your mind and your memory....the blood of Jesus is effective to cleanse you from guilt, and to release you from sin and the effects of sin....but you have to begin to rise up in faith and take G-d at His word so that you don't just fall back on his grace and mercy to cover your weakness, but you have grace for the battles ahead, and learn like every disciple to be an overcomer.

Be renewed in your mind.

Put on the whole armour of G-d.

Fight the good fight of faith.

Resist the Devil and he will flee from you.

Be blessed, be encouraged, and one day you will look back at the person you once were and rejoice in what G-d has accomplished in you for His purposes through our Saviour.

In His love. Botz

I don't know what made me believe the mormons, something just did, i think it was the fact that they believed in the bible in addition to the book of mormon and they prayed in Jesus Christ name. They also told me that the church became corrupted over time and needed to be restored.

Another thing i've figured out is that all of God's prophets, his true prophets came from the middle east, why would one appear in america.

Thank you all for replying, really, i think im starting to see what i was trying to believe now.

As we all look at the condition of the churches in the United States, we would not be seeing the truth if we did not see a lukewarm church. People playing church, that is, going to church on Sunday and living in the world the rest of the week. There does not seem to be the dedication that once was there, so it is easy to remain weak when there are few mentors. It is also due to people expecting to be feed once a week and not continuing feeding themselves the rest of the week. They depend on what the pastor preaches to be enough to sustain them until next Sunday. Scripture is our spiritual food and we need this food more then we need physical food, but few are willing to feed themselves, causing weakness in their spiritual walk.

You mentioned what you saw in the Mormons that you liked. They have a dedication to their way and a love for one another. It is hard to find that in a church today. There may be a few that are this way in church, but as a whole, from where I live, it is not so. This alone should be a strong wake up call to the body.

If you are young, then join a youth group. If you are older, join an adult group. Find the brothers and sisters that are walking close to the Lord and be with them. Study His word and meditate on what you have learned throughout the day. Feed your spirit more then your flesh. Pray that God open doors for you to enter and close doors that are not of Him. Go to as many bible studies as you can. Seek His wisdom and allow the Holy Spirit to change what is not of Him in your life. Lay your life down and let Him mold you as the potter molds the clay. Do not refuse His hand in your life. Gods correction is a blessing for He corrects those He loves.

It is so nice to see that you are truly seeking the truth and not just taking anyone's word as the truth. Search the scripture to see if what we have been telling you is the truth or not, just as we have suggested you do with what the Mormons have told you. Keep digging deep into His word.

God Bless, MightyIsTheLord!

Praying for you Mighty..... We all seek to be where we can honor and love our God. Read, study, work - do not believe what you are told - be diligent in your search for the truth - If you read the information given you here - and go and look up the actual books I cited to you and READ them - you will see the lies unfold. There is not a single untruth in the Bible that is spoken as truth. Please... read, study. All will be revealed. In Jesus' Name - I ask God to Surround you and Cover you in His Grace. Amen.

Thank the Lord, Mighty!

I'm so happy to hear you come around.

To grow, get yourself in the Word daily! You don't have to read a lot, but make a habit out of drinking your 'Living Water'! Your Spirit needs to be watered so you can produce good, lasting fruit! My grandpa always says, "Some people don't understand why you'll read the Bible so much. You know, they'll call you names, like Holy Joe... But they don't realize- it's our meat and potatoes. We need it."

I recommend the New Testament for now. Just pick a book and commit to chipping through it. Say, "Alright, I'm going to read 1 chapter a day until I'm done."

By doing this, you'll inevitably grow. The Lord will fill you with the Spirit. He'll give you desires you didn't have before. You'll be able to "discern right from wrong" and "rightly divide the Word of truth."

Lastly, pray! Praypraypraypray. There's nothing the Father likes more than to be talked at and NEEDED by His children.

Lord Bless you, brother. I will pray for you.

Hi all, i went to a different church gathering yesterday, i was invited by a mormon to attend their church gathering and i went. I have to say the church of the latter day saints is so filled with love and unity i became interested. This elder who's been helping me learn more about it called Elder Evans gave me a copy of the book of mormon. Anyway, i knew it was God who put me in the path of the mormon, he definately wanted me to attend that church (Well it wasn't in the church because thats only just bin completed, goin to the proper one next week), when i was there i felt the holy ghost from head to toe, there all such loving caring people. I've decided to join the church of Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints. I believe that Jesus Christ did visit America shortly after his ressurection. I mean, the book of mormon has characteristics of other books from prophets found in the holy bible. E.g. prophecies, similar subjects. The book of mormon even prophecied about the civil war in america between the northern and southern states.

Anyhow, I just wanted to ask what you guys think of the book of mormon and the church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. Yesterday was the best church meeting i've ever been to, i mean, we even did bible talks afterwards and discussed the second coming. I've found one thread on worthy that mentions mormons but they seem to put them in a bad light. i mean. why? How do you know that Joseph Smith wasn't a prophet?

Thanks. any replies appreciated.

Mormon believes that Christ, Jesus, did not fulfill the promise, that some one else had to come and finish the job.

they are "good" people as man is concerned, but, we can not get to heaven by our works, no matter how good they are.

mormons also believe that a person can be baptized after they are dead to bring them into the Kingdom of God, this is not true, a person has only one chance, and that is on this earth during their current life.

mormons also believe they can pray a person into heaven after they have died... again this is not true, for Christ told us that there is only one way to see the father and that is thru Him... no one else can get you there...

mormonism is a works based religion.... not faith based.... no matter how many points a person gets for working, it does not count for getting to heaven....

yes, they have a lot of good teachings, but they also have a lot of false ones as well... you will begin to notice, they do not use the Bible as much as they use the book of mormon......

I urge you to test their teachings against the Bible, not the book of mormon..... the bible is unflawed...

if there is a question about something, go to the Bible, if there is conflict in an answer, the Bible is the true answer....

man is flawed, God and His Word is not...

the enemy will attempt to get our eyes off of the One that really matters, God and His Son Jesus. and will do anything to do that....

You are not alone. It is very easy to be deceived if you are unsure of the truth or caught up in an experience. Everyone has weak moments, but here are some tips that may help:

#1 - Read & study the Bible. If you know what the Bible teaches, then you will know whether a church or group is really preaching the truth about the Lord. One suggestion I have for you is "The Life Application Study Bible" It's a Bible with study notes, charts, etc to help you both understand the Bible and also apply it to your daily life. It is available in various translations, such as the NIV, the KJV, etc.

#2 - Seek out a church that is really a Christian church! Not sure how to do that? It can be as simple as finding a local church and going to their website to find out what they believe or visiting the church itself to find out what they believe. Not sure what to look for? Start with the basics - do they affirm Jesus is divine, that He was fully God and fully man, the Son of God? That is a Christian belief. Do they affirm the Trinity - One God, existing as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit? That is a Christian belief. Do they consider the Bible to be the only Word of God? That is a Christian belief. Etc, etc. Most Protestant Christian churches are/should be following the Bible - Baptist, Lutheran, etc.

#3- Pray!!!

I wish you the best. I leave you with a few Christian websites that can help you learn more:

It is imperative that we examine a religion independently from outside sources, including those against the group. The group, if a cult, will not allow or discourage independent thinking. They use a variety of mind control techniques to get the person in and keep them in. Mormons can be wonderful people, but the spirit of deception is strong and their belief system is extra/contrabiblical.

Thankfully our friend seems to be seeing the true light.

I hope you change your mind because Mormons are not Christians. It's a cult founded by a false prophet, very much like islam. I hate to think of you losing your salvation because of this. Have you considered talking to a minister?

I'm sorry but I have to dissagree with one statement. Your not going to loose your salvation. However please know that the Mormon Chruch is a cult and is full of disection and lies. If your born again you have to know that following The Book Of Mormon is wrong because it takes away from scripture. Get away from them and get back into a chruch that is Bible believing and stay planted where the word is preached.

Please tell me we're not going to digress into the OSAS argument here. I'd hate to see this thread go down that road.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
