I would think that smoking is some form of slow suicide no? I believe that if someone smokes to the point of becoming sick and keeps smoking knowing that they will die if they keep smoking is pretty much like suicide. And I don't think that ppl who commit suicide go to heaven, maybe not hell either (if there is a place in between these two?).

Theres no in between place, limbo is a false doctrine, hell gets thrown in the lake of fire and God makes a new heaven and a new earth and we all live in New Jerusalem not heaven. Read the last couple of pages of Revelations for all the details.

The current heaven and earth are going to be destroyed with a loud noise and fervent heat. Sounds scary but its necessary.

So you think that per say.... a tribe of people living in natural harmony in a remote jungle and never had a chance to even know that the Bible exist will get thrown into a lake of fire? I don't think so...

Its not a question of what I think and salvation isnt a question of hearing the name Jesus Christ or reading the Bible or attending a Bible college or going to "church" its a very basic principle. Do unto others as you would have done unto you for that is the law and the prophets. There are plenty of people who know nothing about the Bible that understand common decency and love of their neighbors. They love God without putting into terms of christianity. There are also many people who hate God even though they claim His name. God will not be mocked and He searches the hearts of all men. YHWH knows who loves Him; He said one resurrection on His day of judgement, hell goes in the lake of fire with all the sillybillygoats, the Lamb and His Bride (ewe/you&me) live eternally in New Jerusalem. Good News! God made us in His image and sin was introduced through Adam so we are born with the knowledge of good and evil. Its not an issue of social or cultural circumstance, I.Q., life situation. Its a question of hope and fear. Those who have hope for a bright future will not be let down and likewise those who fear the dark will be consumed by it.

Well I'm glad someone else believes in the same I do :). I was reffering to some Christians who believe that if one doesn't get to be saved by Jesus, they will not see the kingdom of God.

Sorry for derailing the topic btw everyone...

Smoke! who me?.............Nope, I just put a pinch between my lip and gums. :b:

Be careful where you spit. In my town there used to be a law against spitting on the sidewalk because the old men chewed and most children were bearfooted... and of course TB was common in those days.

I live and work in the country, so spitting isn't really a problem. When among civilized city folks I seldom spit, but when I do spit, it isn't on a sidewalk, I usually find a bush, flower pot or some dirt for my disgusting habit.

One of my pet peeves is somebody that gets a paper cup with a paper towel in it, so they can spit, I think that is just filthy. (just my opinion)

My first boyfriend dipped and did the cup thing. Had one everywhere he went. That or a bottle. Something. And it was filthy. Hated it. My husband occasionally chewed when we met. Pretty rarely, but enough for me to pester him until he quit. Being the completely stubborn man he is, I know he really quit just to prove he could. I was a lot younger then and have since learned that the surest way to make sure my husband does something, is to tell him not to. LOL

I don't smoke (cause im 14), but I don't think there's anything wrong with it (provided that you do it at an age that it's legal) unless you're addicted to it. I think the same for drinking, too.

I don't smoke because I am 14!" :24: :24: :24: I love that!!!

Honey, I am not putting you down, but you would have to be over sixty to really appreciate the humor in what you said. :24:

lol I'm glad it made you laugh :24:

When I was lost I was a daily marijuana smoker, so the idea of smoking only makes me think about getting high.

I have, every once in a while, had a puff of a tobacco pipe. Other than that, I stay away from smoking altogether.

Well, I believe this is one of those things that Paul speaks about in Romans. If you can do it with a clear conscience, be my guest. But just remember this:

A smoker smells like a chimney, and a chewer looks like they're eating something I can't say without offending people, so I won't.

I wonder how many Christians still smoke?? I do and I know I shouldn't and I have tried to stop. My main problem is that I enjoy a cigarette with a cup of coffee, after a meal, when i sit down to rest, and in between. For me a cigarette is a stimulant when I am tired or can't think straight; and a seditave when I am upset. I feel like I have leprosy when I light up anywhere but my house.. i respect others who don't smoke and if they visit me... I will smoke outside. Do you smoke????

I don't smoke, but I sympathize with anyone who does and is struggling to quit. Have you tried the e-cigarrettes? You can use them anywhere, and they are less harmful than regular cigarettes. Some people have successfully quit by switching to them, and gradually reducing the nocotine.

I cut up white straws the length of my Camel unfiltered cigarettes and kept them in my shirt pocket where I'd have something to grab and poke into my mouth when the phone rang....... still to this day when I answer the phone I catch myself reaching in my pocket even though I don't have an urge to smoke at all..... just a learned habit that didn't go away.

Anyway I don't think anything could get me to start smoking again for any reason.

There is something about this that is just... excellent!  God bless you, brother.

No I don't smoke.  And I"m sure there are a lot of Christians that do.  However I worked in the medical field all my life and saw the results of this habit from having to live on oxygen to dying from lung cancer.  Our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit we need to watch what we put in that temple and what kind of a testimony you are putting out there.  You sound as if your replacing a cigarette for what the Lord could do for you if you trust Him and let Him do His work in your life.  Ask yourself a question.  Would you invite Jesus to join you for a cup of coffee with a cigarette in your hand our would you rather just sit with your Savior and tell Him how much you love Him and thank Him for all He has done for you?

it would seem to me that it would be a sin to live in some places if you take that body/temple too far.

LA thirty years ago was as dangerous as smoking......    being a welder or pumping gasoline you whole life would also fit that bill.

I feel sure anyone would not want to smoke in front of Jesus and most likely would not if given a chance.  when they see him they will have already left the physical body which holds the addiction.

and second Jesus knows who smokes on earth and where their heart is; if he were to present himself to a smoker he would not be surprised about it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
