Christians, whose body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, cannot be posed by any demonic spirits.

Quick just spoke the truth.  Christians cannot be possessed by an evil spirit, not with the Holy Spirit living in that person.

While I do believe that Christians cannot be possessed, it should not be thought that the devil leaves them alone either.

Sometimes, the tendency is to act as though the devil cannot challenge a believer...I don't mean the devil personally of course...but demonic spirits

This is not something to fear as we know we have the victory already won by our Savior.

Unfortuneatly, Christian bookstores harbor an inordinate amount of books by authors who propose far more about the devil then the Bible allows.

The Bible does not ignore the devil or his interaction with believers, but the focus is on Christ's victory over the devil and our victory in turn if we are in Christ.

I agree with Shiloh in that a Christian can't be possessed, however if we do still have some sin in our lives, it leaves a door open to be bothered by or harassed by demons.      And if you are leading a really good Christian life, they will mess with you in any number of ways.

But Possess where you have no control over things........    no I don't believe they can do that.

Believers cannot be demon possesed due to the Holy Ghost inside of the them. Light and dark cannot coexist their contrary to each other. You can be demon oppressed because our flesh thrives on sin which invites demon involvement in our lives

Jesus said that people who have had demons cast out of them are "empty" vessels right before the demons are able to return. How can a Christian who has the Holy Spirit be "empty" so that a demon might possess them?

Jesus is the Word made flesh. Holy Spirit will always point to Jesus... the Word. If a person should choose not to apply the Word after being cleansed, are they empty? The demons fear God... if His Word isn't found in the house after its been cleansed  then what's stopping them from returning and bringing more who are more wicked than they? A house led by the Lord will obey... the Word.... Jesus Christ.

I am testing the doctrine of whether or not Christians can have demons. I have some questions about this for both sides of the issue.

1.) Question for those who say Christians CANNOT have demons:

Why would the apostles cast demons out of people AT ALL if belief of the gospel alone would ALWAYS cause them to be removed immediately for SOLE habitation by the Holy Spirit? Remember, this is POST not PRE Pentecost. This isn't OT stuff or before Christ died on the cross for our sins. As many on both sides assert, it is pointless to try and remove demons from someone who refuses to believe the gospel or even misunderstands it somehow, as the demons will not only return later but also in greater numbers the second time around, making the last state worse than the first.

Since this is at least generally true, why would the apostles participate in and even promote such a thing? This would definitely lead to confusion, and God is not supposed to be the author of confusion. Why didn't the apostles simply share the gospel and leave the demons inside the unsaved? It could definitely lead to the idea of Christians being able to have them by doing such a thing rather than sharing the gospel alone. Exorcisms should be considered un-biblical in general then and even a hindrance to delivering the untainted gospel if ONLY the unsaved can have them.

2.) Question for those who say Christians CAN have demons:

Jesus said that people who have had demons cast out of them are "empty" vessels right before the demons are able to return. How can a Christian who has the Holy Spirit be "empty" so that a demon might possess them? This argument is often used as an apologetic against those who say Christians can have demons.

I think alot of people confuse "the flesh" being corrupt and full of evil desires with demons. I also think some people do not walk in "the Spirit" but the could. Ephesians is a pretty good read for understanding the flesh, spirit, demon, position in christ, made new, sealed, moved from kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of his son, etc.

The word you are using  "empty" actually refers to being clean.

There have been instances of christians being demon possessed.  If one opens themselves to the demonic, one can be possessed, but only if God permits.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
