If that is not the case, and we do not know until we get there, I don't need a mansion

If you promise your child something big and she would tell you that she not really wants it,would this sound ungrateful to you ?

Once I was clothed in the rags of my sin

Wretched and poor lost and lonely within

But with wonderous compassion the King of all Kings

In pity and love took me under his wing.

Oh yes, oh yes, I'm a child of the King

His royal blood now flows in my veins

And I who was wretched and poor now can sing

Praise God Praise God I'm a child of the King.

Now I'm a child with a heavenly home

My holy father has made me his own

And I am cleansed by his blood and I'm clothed in his love

And someday I'll sing with the angels above.

Oh yes, oh yes, I'm a child of the King

His royal blood now flows in my veins

And I who was wretched and poor now can sing

Praise God Praise God I'm a child of the King...

Thank you Jesus for all the things You have in store for us and most of all to see you face to face.

Revelation 21:21

The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.

We will walk those streets of gold~~

`let us lay aside every weight & the sin which so easily ensnares us & let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, LOOKING UNTO JESUS, the author & finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, & sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.` (Heb. 12: 1 & 2)

So what is the joy that was set before Jesus - `...bringing many sons to glory,...` (Heb. 2: 10)

The so - called mansions are our eternal bodies - `...to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven,..` (2 Cor. 5: 2)

I will just be Blessed to see Jesus face to face. That is what I am awaiting.

Hi bopeep1909,

You`ve said it there. So very, very true. And it`s good to remember -

`...that the genuineness of your faith, being MUCH MORE PRECIOUS THAN GOLD THAT PERISHES,.....` (1 Peter 1: 7)

We live in such a materialistic society that often we don`t understand true riches, which are in Christ -

`...in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom & knowledge.`  (Col. 2: 3)

`...& let no one defraud you of your reward,.......and not holding fast to the Head,..` (Christ) (Col. 2: 18)

We are so blessed to know our precious Lord & what He has done for us. He is our reward, our life, our treasure, there is nothing, there is no one compared to Him.

Marilyn.

What I am trying to say is that should not be the number one thing we are focusing on....

To look at all the treasures I will have in heaven....

Jesus made all things, both visible and invisible, He made the worlds, the universe and all the things in it.

I don't know of a greater materialist than Jesus.

Some people spiritualize everything away.

The resurrection is replaced by a ghost experience,

the coming of Christ - "only spiritual eyes" will see that,

people are secretly whisked away into heaven without notice,

heaven is a cloudy, out of focus, happy white fog,

the flood was only a spiritually symbolic myth,

Adam and Eve were just a figure of speech,

"mansions" in heaven means "small bark huts" - the new MT Bible.

Dear Openly Curious,we do have so much to look forward to,don't we?

Some day we walk and dance  the streets of gold and spend all the time in the world with our Savior!

Forever and ever :)

The word "mansion" doesn't mean in the Greek the same thing as our western materialistic minds think of when we think of "mansions."     The false teachers and false prophets have used this verse to incorrectly present the word 'dwelling places"  to refer to something akin to 150 room mansions for every believer.

It was common in ancient Jewish culture to refer to heaven as God's house.   Jesus was not talking about each believer living in something akin to Buckingham palace. He was using the imagery of a slave being honored by being given a room in the house of the master.    Jesus, in no way, was talking about the purely western, concept of a mansion.

We could do a study on heaven and find out for sure.

Say for instance, in Hebrews it says that Abram looked for a city whose builder and maker is God.

It has a wall, great and high, 144 cubits or 79 meters thick and high.

Heaven is big enough to give everyone a mansion - a big roomy house, plus acreage.

The City of God is a mountain as wide as our moon, in it's diagonal measurement.

It is like a planet on its own, except that it has a square base which follows the contour of the planet it is on. The surface area of this mountain-like structure is about the same as the whole of North America, that is, Canada and the US, and none of it is uninhabitable.

One human being has lived there for over 5,000 years and yet it is very likely that human eyes have never seen many parts of heaven to this day, despite the presence of thousands of other human beings who came there with the resurrection of Christ.

It has millions of individual landscapes, there is plenty of room for real mansions.

I agree with you that God makes most beautiful things .I am now Lucky to live in a countryside with flowers and herbs of bright colours ,

and churches built to His glory ,but I never really looked for that ,as although I love beauty ,simple beauty not too rich like in India

for example, tommorow if He takes it away I am ready to do without . It is of the heart and mind that I need my God and if He gives me other gifts I will not refuse them .

When you look at history the rich and powerful and often pagan had beautiful mansions, and jewels ,

and fancy clothes ;Now they have aéroplanes ,and limousines, and they will probably be taken from them ,as they thay have looked in the wrong places for their treasures  .Only that which God gives you  is permanent ,and He has promised to give to those of  meek and humble  hearts which  are generous  to others ,not searching personal gratification . So even if God has the most beautiful places in heaven , they are not to be  'lusted after ' . If He gave to the 'lustful',  how could He trust them not have 'followed 'HIm just for material gain ?   There must be a transformation of the heart first  ,and a willingness to do without, until God decides what you can have .

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
