God's ears are open to the righteous cries of his children. It matters not where we may be at at the time of our cries. It matters not if we are sitting down, kneeling down on our beds or in the shower as other one said, as a child's cry can come from about any where and from any circumstance. What's important is having a heart humble enough to cry out to an all loving God who truly cares about us even if we don't feel it sometimes. As posters above have pointed out, powerful prayers can be made in whatever situation you are in. The Bible often mentions people prostrating themselves in prayer and worship; also mentioned are holy men of God raising their arms in prayer, and those who knelt in prayer. Hannah spoke in her heart and prayed silently with only her lips moving. I have seen video of Jews at the wailing wall praying with their arms raised and rocking forward and back slightly as they prayed intensely. I pray while driving, especially for reckless drivers I see and when I come upon a wreck where people are injured. Most often I sit while praying.
