An Australian mother asked a FaceBook group of 26,186 mothers:

“I would love to hear what other mums make their hubbies for lunch and snacks throughout the work day,” she posted on Tuesday. “We are getting over sandwiches.”

Some of these helpful ladies, offered their ideas:

  • “Your husband is a grown up and you’re not his mother”
  • “My husband can make his own damn lunch.”
  • “I make my husband the same thing he makes me. Nothing!!”
  • “Stuff that, hubby is a grown man. I already do his laundry and keep his children alive.”
  • “Our advice is to stop making his lunches.”
  • “My role is childcare during working hours and that’s it.”
  • “He’s lucky if I decide to make dinner some nights”.
  • “I was married for twenty years and my favourite packed lunch for my husband was called a Get it Yourself with a side order of I’m not your mother.”
  • one mother of a toddler recounting her horror at finding out she was pregnant with a boy: “I felt sick at the thought of something male growing inside me.”

The woman who was seeking lunch ideas said:

She and her husband are saving up to buy their first home and, “he works in an extremely physically demanding job, he does housework, he cooks dinner every second night... He gets up in the middle of the night with our Bub. He is a champion.

“The least I can do is make him a bloody sandwich. I love my man, he deserves to eat lunch and we can’t afford to eat out.”

and the husband could have responded to some of these fine lassies, "yes, and she can build the fence, change the flat on the p/u as well as spend the night out in the barn with the chickens lol.

or . . . .

"yes, and she can build the fence, change the flat on the p/u as well as spend the night out in the barn with the chickens, probably better than any of you ladies can, and with a lot more class, and a better attitude"

The current “feminist” stupidity running rampant in our society literally turns my stomach.

I’d much rather pack him a lunch and make dinner every day than change the oil, change the flats, fix the roof, etc.

Some interesting secular responses but by the lady who was seeking the lunch ideas sounded like a thoughtful wife. If she would leave the word "bloody" out. Isn't that a swear word"?

lol.. I'd send him hunting, keep a couple hens and plant a good garden before I'd send anyone to work all day with no lunch.

Hi guys

Yes, Yowm, it is.  But it is a mild one.  Hardly anyone says that anymore.  The buzz word now is much worse - .... it seems every second word - and by women as well.  However, so as not to lose the thread, I was shocked to see those responses - don't people care at all about their spouses anymore?  Good golly.  Have people sunk so low?  As a retired Christian I guess I don't socialise in the world much and miss out on most of this kind of garbage (I also never entertained the idea of having a fb page).  Don't want to sound like I'm on my high horse but, please, love the one you're with!

I think it is an overreaction to the days of the `little woman` waiting on the husband. Lots of hurt, pain & anger, I see in those replies. It seems they do not know how to work through their differences. Even with the Lord it still is `dying to self` and that`s a life process.

Our society in Australia, is so geared to what I want NOW. We have been called the `Lucky Country` and we have so much - sunshine, lovely country, good food, great beaches, money for those out of work, hospital care etc.....yet without the Lord it doesn`t fulfil, as we well know.

Marilyn.

What very creative ideas these women have for making lunches. This must be kung fu panda's non biological father's secret recipe for noodles. ?? These women first of all failed to answer her question. Hahaha. Maybe they reacted that way because she said "...what other mums make for their hubbies" that warranted those kinds of reply. Nonetheless, i think these women could do well by keeping their "secret recipes of a happy marriage" to themselves, instead of saying nothing that contributes to her question lol.

But wait, the other woman "felt sick having a male baby inside her?" Sure.. she surely didn't feel sick about doing the process of having a baby with a grown male in the first place... " Go figure! I am now worried for the baby boy now. I hope she don't raise him up to hate his own gender... or worse...he might grow up resenting women altogether with all the male bashing attitude..

I am all out for women empowerment (not feminism) but i do make food for the man of the house. That empowers me as the woman of the house.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
