See, most are fearful.  not all, but most .   they just want to go along and be INCLUDED with family and friends and just get along , so they tell themselves

why Halloween and other events can be celebrated.

Personally , if one wants to dedicate the day to Christ , I would have no problem with that.  BUT take all the pagan DUNG out of it , and the covetousness

 

Christ was probably born in September.    But if we want to celebrate his birth   HONOR HIM , DONT DISHONOR HIM WITH PAGAN TRADITIONS and EVIL.

This is so true.   that is how they got new age into the church, they changed it into christain words..............like contemplative prayer

and many such things they do .    Circle makers, the shack,   all inclusive , seeker friendly,   now we even got christains who talk to the dead

I KID YA NOT .   but its christain they say .   RIGHT .  its evil .   Praying to angels , praying to saints,   the list can go on and on .

But new age got the churches back in the eighties , and it has increased magnifold.   DO a pagan practice, BUT change its name and say ITS FOR GOD and they buy it all  the time .

ALL the time .

They were not attempting to adopt pagan customs in doing that.  They were combating them.  The Japanese Christians needed something to replace the old holidays.

The early Christians had to do the same thing when it came to the pagan traditions of Rome and Greece.  The conspiracy theory about all of this incorrectly argues that when the Greeks and Romans got saved, they retained their pagan customs and simply reinterpreted them in their worship of Jesus.   It states that they simply started celebrating the birth of Jesus on Dec. 25th like they did with Zeus or whatever.  That is simply not the case.

 

There's an old saying, "Nature abhors a vacuum." The same can be said for the humans. I learned this from quitting smoking and a few other bad habits: there must be a replacement for whatever a person is trying to get out of their life. This is true whether its holidays or a bad habit. That's why the missionaries replaced the old holidays with new ones - the fellowships helps to strengthen believers.

anyway my 9 year old great nephew came home from school recently and said to his mother that... with the word Santa if you change the word a little makes satan. and that coming from a child!!

Some church bulletin already appeared with Santa autocorrected to Satan.

Santa is a word in spanish that means female saint. Same in italian. Not sure what the root latin word is.

However the santa satan analogy is false. Lived does not equal devil.
