I did want to give GOD the glory on something .  remember the grandma i said had such a clear mind  , so sharp and fast.  YEAH THAT LADY LOVED THE LORD

 I suspect he kept her mind so clear and sharp.  WELL , i know HE DID .

Yes. It is a pity. If you start that thread it will just be bashed and twisted by the 'defenders of the faith' that cry heresy and false doctrine. Real shame because there is so much to learn from Leviticus. So many medical advances have been applied by savvy doctors in the past. It is really more relevant today than ever.

My mom died last year of dementia/Alzheimer. Such a wicked and horrific state for any human to be in.

Interesting. Have you seen an upsurge in Rickets lately? The UK is thinking it has to do with lower  Vitamin D levels in kids. I thought it had been eradicated, but perhaps it is a systemic disease??

In my opinion Christians do not have to worry about that, they must believe and seek to live in fellowship with the Lord.

And answering to your question I believe it is connected to lack of faith, and consequently, fellowship with the Lord.

 

And I can say the healthiest individuals I have seen are Christians who have fellowship with the Lord Jesus. And I do not think that is a coincidence.

We don't know the whole story on Cassidy either.  We're being told what they want us to hear. So, its hard to decide for sure one way or the other.

One of the most fascinating aspects of " dementia " that I have witnessed is not so much a break with reality , but a re-connecting to reality many ,many years ago .

I remember once sitting and talking with an elderly family member with dementia who seemed upset and worried about something when they informed that they were afraid 

that their siblings were very mad at her for telling mama about something they had done that they were not supposed to have done .  Upon further inquiry I began to realize I was

speaking with a 5 year old girl in an 80 year old body . I later confirmed the accuracy of what she was saying from other older relatives . 

It just made me realize anew what an incredible thing God has done in creating every aspect of our being  .

Its understandable. Vitamin d deficiency causes rickets. It is doubtful it will ever be eradicated. 

In my day, like decades ago, kids spent time outside running around. Today not so much. Vitamin d is made in ones body via exposure to the sun. As people get older, that mechanism in the body doesnt work as well, which is why someone like me, despite living in arizona where it is so sunny, has low vitamin d levels. (Im in my 50s so apparently my body doesnt work as well any more.) Vitamin d also occurs in different foods, naturally or as an additive. Diets today are rather poor in industrialized and third world nations. There are a lot of ways someone can be deficient in vitamin d and get rickets.

No, we probably never will know the whole story and we don't need to.  That family is entitled to their privacy.  But the point is that dementia/Al;zeimer's is on the increase as the population ages and maybe there are steps we can take to slow down or prevent those diseases.

He also had multiple organ failure. Liver and kidney disease can cause dementias too as toxins in the body build up. I do not know how long he had liver and kidney disease or if it was just at the end of his life that it showed up. So I do not know what effect that might have had.
