Most commonly across America, some families prefer ham on their tables. Following is an article. The festivities have already begun. Note: This is not to be considered condemnation by any means. This is simply for your information. P.S. I hope this copy/pastes well. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Deuteronomy 14:3-20 KJV 3 Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing. 4 These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat, 5 The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois. 6 And every beast that parteth the hoof, and cleaveth the cleft into two claws, and cheweth the cud among the beasts, that ye shall eat. 7 Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you. 8 And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase. 9 These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat: 10 And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you. 11 Of all clean birds ye shall eat. 12 But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray, 13 And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind, 14 And every raven after his kind, 15 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind, 16 The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan, 17 And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant, 18 And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat. 19 And every creeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten. 20 But of all clean fowls ye may eat. News Release Morris Meat Packing Recalls Pork Products Produced Without Benefit of Inspection Class I Recall 116-2019 Health Risk: High Nov 21, 2019 Congressional and Public Affairs Mitch Adams (202) 720-9113 FSISpress@usda.gov WASHINGTON, Nov. 21, 2019 – Morris Meat Packing, a Maywood, Ill. establishment, is recalling approximately 515,000 pounds of various raw, intact pork products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection and outside inspection hours, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The raw, intact pork items were produced on Saturdays from November 25, 2017 to November 9, 2019. The following spreadsheet contains the list of products subject to the recall. [View Labels (PDF only)] The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 18267” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to distributors and retail locations in Illinois. The problem was discovered when FSIS received an anonymous tip that the firm was producing products without the benefit of inspection. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider. FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers. When available, the retail distribution list(s) will be posted on the FSIS website at www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls. Consumers and media with questions regarding the recall can contact Frank Masellis, President of Morris Meat Packing, at (708) 865-8566. Consumers with food safety questions can call the toll-free USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 1-888-MPHotline (1-888-674-6854) or live chat via Ask USDA from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Eastern Time) Monday through Friday. Consumers can also browse food safety messages at Ask USDA or send a question via email to MPHotline@usda.gov. For consumers that need to report a problem with a meat, poultry, or egg product, the online Electronic Consumer Complaint Monitoring System can be accessed 24 hours a day at https://foodcomplaint.fsis.usda.gov/eCCF/. Have a blessed Thanksgiving? You're most welcome, and thanks for responding. It's not exactly a 'thread-grabber', and no doubt isn't going very far either. But could be a concern for members in this general area. I just thought if those who enjoy their Honey Glazed Ham dinners might look out for this. According to the article, refrigerated and/or freezer items are already suspected in numerous American homes. Hardly anything is safe anymore. Eggs, milk, and dairy, lettuce, and other produce. Just about everything is becoming questionable about their safety for consumption. Just to note, one site on this recall mentioned bats were found in amongst the pork in this processing company. I couldn't copy/paste from that one, and had to choose one that was more user friendly. No one knows to what reputable brands could have purchased this cooperation. Oscar Meyer, Farmer John, Jimmy Dean, Hormel, and others. 515,000 pounds is a lot of swine released on the population. I didn't take the time to research whether the companies I've named raise their own hogs or not. Maybe some do. Anyway, thanks again for the interest. At least the title of the topic will get some attention out there. God bless. Edited November 24, 2019 by BeauJangles

I stopped pig years ago and my health improved. Plus oysters and shell-fish always gave me sickness. So I looked up the food laws/guidelines and found them 'palatable' (pun intended).

Pork, hog, boar, javelina, or peccary. It's all pig to me. Peccary - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peccary A peccary (also javelina or skunk pig) is a medium-sized pig-like hoofed mammal of the family Tayassuidae (New World pigs). They are found throughout Central and South America and in the southwestern area of North America.

All meat is bad the way it is process. I do eat meat. But I feel better when I dont. The way cattle was in ancient days was a lot healthier. They killed the animal and fix it the same day to eat. But it's not a sin to eat any type of meat. The law of unclean meats was for Isarel under the old covenant.

We had an early Thanksgiving last Friday, the 22. Twenty-six people and we all had baked ham. It was delicious. AND turkey. Bacon is a staple at my house and many houses I know. Christians can partake of any food. But it is wise to be selective and careful how you prepare any and all foods.
