Deb, perhaps I worded that a bit too strongly, and for that I apologize.

Here is my point. We often hear that Romans 7 is our abode, our experience in our walks with the Lord. We are trapped by sin and self. The things we want to do, we do not. The things we do not want to do, we end up doing. Amen?

But what was Paul's mindset here? He literally despised himself and his constant failures.  He longed to be freed from constantly disappointing the Lord with his disobedience. And was he rewarded for seeking rhe Lord  AND His righteousness? Yes, he was.

Do you see where I am going here? Is this our mindset? Or, are we content to let grace make up the difference  between our calling and our failure, with no real desire to be FREE INDEED.

So, are  we any better than someone who wants to still have the freedom to sin. God is looking at our heart intents, amen? If God has told us that He will cause us both to will, AND  to do, of His good pleasure, .and set us free indeed, if we are not crying out with all that is within us for our deliverer to deliver  us from evil, as He taught us to  pray, rhen I content our position is no different than the one i stated above.

Do you disagree, and if so, why? Thanks.

Gids

Well, all I can say is that I am free....free in Christ.   I have the peace of God in my mind and heart.   I am resting in the Lord, in what He has done for me.   And it's a blessed life.

Amen!  Jesus spoke of the “ Abundant Life”. I know what He was talking about. I live it.A life of Peace and Joy. “ Those That Find Life will Find it by Trusting God.” I found life.I trusted God and His Gospel Of Grace .Most people are “ trying” instead of “ Trusting.” Their Reward is a beggarly life .They don’t even know it.They have nothing to compare their lives to.All that is left for them to do is criticize what they do not understand. They are “ The Accusers Of The Brethern”.They Just can’t “ imagine” a person set free to do whatever they want  that would not turn it into a “ license to sin.” I do what I want every second of every day . What is it I want to do now that I can do whatever I want with no fear of losing my Salvation? Do I want to go out and “ rape, ravage and plunder?” Quite the opposite. All I want to do now, even though I have the freedom to do otherwise is please my Father. Another one of those Christian Paradoxes I suppose- you gotta live it to understand it ....

Its delightful to here those words--"know" my heavenly Father.

Wonderful!

Yes brother, the word "know" is an excellent, fulfilling, rewarding "word" study, ...for example, my Lord told me:

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.  John 8:32

What do I "know," ...I "knew" my father and my mother after living with them for a couple of decades, ...I "knew" my daughters for about a decade, ...but now, because of separation, I don't "know" them any more, I only "know" about them, I "know" my bride, because I've been living with her for the last 25 years.

And I "know" my God because I have been living "with" Him for 34 years, ...if you were to tell me my parents were gangsters because they lived during that era, I would "know" that is not the truth, ...if you were to say my daughters were mentally handicapped during their younger years, I would "know" that is not the truth, ...if you said my bride is cheating on me, I would "know" that is not the truth, ...because I am living with her, I "know" her character, her good points and her bad points, I "know" what she likes and what she doesn't like, I "know" her "intimately" on all levels, physical, emotional and spiritual.

I "know" the truth about my God, why, because our relationship is profound, He is my Father and I know Him in that manor because He has taken such good care of me, ...for 37 years before I even "knew" Him, He was there protecting me, taking care of me, ...why, He even intervened in my life while I was still in the womb of my 15 year old teen age mother from having a back ally abortion, I can look back over those 37 years and see how He was "working" behind the scene in my life, protecting me, providing for me, using my prideful will and ambition to form and prepare me to be able to live the life He was going to call me to today, ...I can look back like Paul said, and see Him working in my life from the day I was born, and now, ...there is no separation as there was before, I can say from my heart in true faith and confidence, "I am my beloved's, and  my beloved is mine! Song 6:3

Yes, I have sinned willfully in these last 34 years of being His child, ...He didn't take "off" His gloves ready to "box" me, no!

...like Peter, warming himself by the fire with the rest of the world, ...He just "looked" at me! Luke 22:61

I saw "in" His eyes, ...His Love, Mercy and Grace for me, and I wept, ashamed and regretting my willful act,

...and just like the woman "caught," ...I "understood" His words, "Go, and sin no more," I understood that I wasn't going to "live" a sinless life from that day forward, ...but rather, I now have the Holy Spirit living inside of me,  I don't have to sin, even when my "desire" is stronger than my "intellect," ...because the Holy Spirit can "overcome" my old carnal nature, my worst enemy, ...still "alive" in me.

What I have learned in these 34 years of "living" with my God, ...there are many who "know" about God and speak what they "think" they know, ...and then there are those who "actually" live "with" God and "know" Him personally and intimately, He talks with us, reasons with us, encourages and comforts us and the "result" of this personal and intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father is:

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36

We are not swayed by the opinions of others, we "know" our Father and we are "free" from any condemnation! Rom 8:1

We know from our own personal relationship with Him He uses His "rod and His staff" to discipline us, ...never, never His hands, and His "discipline" always comforts us, ...never, never scares, intimidates or threatens us, ...His hands are used "only" to love on us, ...we "know" those hands that are holding us will one day "be" used to punish, ...the unbelieving, evil, wicked Christ rejecting ones:

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.  Heb 10:31

Beloved brothers and sisters, to them He will be God, for us He is our Loving Heavenly Father, ...we are not "falling, ...we are being "held" in the hands of "our" living God.

Lord bless

Amen brother! It is so wonderful and uplifting to share these things. We have the privilege of taking part in the encouragement and confirming of our faith in one another. Praise His Name.

I know of Him through the scriptural record and He has confirmed the reality of His Nature to me in His dealings with me. I can tell of specific experiences where He said/taught--"yes, this is who I am".  Other times, where He brought me through experiences where He said, "yes this stuff is real--pay attention son".

So many over a lifetime. He is Gracious and Merciful and loving. He could just of saved me and said--go on now and I will see you at the end of this time in your earthen vessel---but He didn't. He wanted to be an ever present friend, companion and Teacher. A relationship--not a far way and absent landlord.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
