She seems to have many followers all around the nations of world, Lord oh Lord.

The prostitute is Roman Catholicism, which claims authority over all peoples, kings, governments, nations and religions.  She claims authority to set up and depose rulers of countries.  She claims authority to change times and seasons (e.g. she switched the Sabbath from the seventh day, to the first day of the week).  She claims authority to change the word of God and to add to it.  She has official pictures of herself as a woman, holding out a cup to the nations. etc, etc.

To lightly touch on the question and its related matters, I hope it won't be a long read or too many ingredients. She rides on the back of a beast. This is imagery from Greek mythology of a "maiden" seduced by the beast (large bull) and lured to sit on its back. It carried her off through the sea. Her name-Europa. At the time of Rev.'s writing, undoubtedly Rome dominated Europe. She has written on her, "Babylon" having fornicated with kings. This fits what the secular Roman power morphed into-Catholicism. Drunk with saints' blood and all. 

It seems to move into the future to the end times. Those she is riding on hate her, think a/c blaspheming, to the point they burn her. She is the opposite of the virgin bride of Christ dressed in white.
