She rides on the back of a beast. This is imagery from Greek mythology of a "maiden" seduced by the beast (large bull) and lured to sit on its back. It carried her off through the sea. Her name-Europa. At the time of Rev.'s writing, undoubtedly Rome dominated Europe. She has written on her, "Babylon" having fornicated with kings. This fits what the secular Roman power morphed into-Catholicism. Drunk with saints' blood and all. It seems to move into the future to the end times. Those she is riding on hate her, think a/c blaspheming, to the point they burn her.
