It means God's estimation of worthiness for reward may be entirely different than our human estimation.

I believe early life some people are well-behaved and some not. The well-behaved ones are rewarded and frequently become our leaders. But time passes and some of those who were poorly behaved while young learn from their mistakes and are rewarded. Meanwhile, while some of those who became leaders early in life succumb to the temptation of pride. They fall behind.

It means those you call great [Cheif] will be called the least [Lowest] in the Kingdom of God.  Those you call least [Lowest] in the world will be called great in the Kingdom.  Example rich man and Lazarus.

If you do a Greek word study on 'first' it means Chief (greatest in worth) and 'last' means (lowest as in worth).

And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way? But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who [should be] the greatest. And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first [Cheif], [the same] shall be last [lLowest]of all, and servant of all. And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them, Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me. - Mar 9:33-37 KJV

The Pharisees honored people of wealth and stature but poor and lowly people were treated like garbage and unimportant.  Not so in the Kingdom of God.  The poor and humble will be honored and those prideful and arrogant will be cast out of his Kingdom.

If you are referring to Matthew 19:30, the account is explained in the following verses (Matthew 20:1-16).

Salvation was given first to the Hebrew thru OT prophets but they rejected it. However, in later church era the gentiles accepted Gospel Salvation.

I am reminded of the story of Lazarus and the rich man. The tables were turned after death. Not because the rich man was rich, but because the rich man had no concern for his soul or God. This can be seen as a fulfillment of that scripture.

One thing I heard recently in a sermon that stuck with me, EVERYONE is equally important in God's eyes.

Men who seek to be in the lime light, to be first could be prideful. God hates the sin of pride. The Bible says the prideful will be brought low." Pride Goes before a fall". The Pharacees of the Bible liked to be seen in public in the high places. In the key places.

Moses didn't really want the job God lined him up for. God often seems to call people who would have never thought about doing anything great. God uses the weak to confound the strong. This is intentional to make low all prideful thoughts and ways.

The Bible tells us not to respect one man over another if one is dressed well and the other man isn't. All men are equal in God's sight regardless of what they wear.

“These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren” (Proverbs 6:16-19).

The least is the greatest in the kingdom. If you want to be great become small, humble, gentle, meek. Look at Jesus, the King of kings. He was mocked and spit on although he was the greatest.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
