Does anybody believe we are headed to a financial crisis?

The news events of the last several months point to a downward spiraling economy. Do you believe that God in His Divine Design may be sending this to purify the Church and create one last opportunity for seeds to be sown on fertile ground.

I am not sure if God is doing this to purify the church but He could be doing something along those lines like a wake up call that is saying we all better be listening and ready for the *Edit* that is coming down on this nation. I do think its all part of God's plan, this country has in more ways than one turned its back on Him and His word even though there are many who have not. I do think that we all need to be more aware of getting God's word out to those that are lost as things in this world seem to heat up towards Christ's return. Its an interesting question and one I had not thought about before.

14 I know that everything God does will remain forever; there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it, for God has so worked that men should fear Him.

Isaiah sums it up well and offered more hope...

Isaiah chapter 8

12 "You are not to say, 'It is a conspiracy!'

In regard to all that this people call a conspiracy,

And you are not to fear what they fear or be in dread of it.

13"It is the LORD of hosts whom you should regard as holy.

And He shall be your fear,

And He shall be your dread.

14"Then He shall become a sanctuary;

So I submit, what does it matter?

After all, isn't everything under the sun meaningless? ...but yes, it is quite possible that God is attempting to usher in a great revival within the Church. We'll see.

God is certainly not obligated to fix a mess that we create, so in that this is our doing, we will probably have to ride this out to it's conclusion.

I would not want to venture to guess why God is either allowing or causing this. God has not directly said, so who am I to speak for Him. But as for as believers go we have this promise:

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.

I do happen to think something is coming and it is to purify the church. The things that are coming are going to test the faith of all Christians. I also happen to think that the testing has already begun. I went through my first fire six years ago. Those of us with strong faith need to be with those whose faith is challenged and remind them that at the end of it all, they will be the purest of gold, fit to do what it is God will have us do at the end of the trial.

I think this economic "crisis" is about as real as global warming. Yes its a rough spot...but this country has been in FAR tougher economic times.

true, but do you want the times that tough again?? I sure don't. The bank was considering pulling my mourtguage because they were so afraid to lend. Only my perfect payment history saved me. I can't afford to leave this house. I sure can't afford to rent. I still may end up with a rise in my interst rate. So no.....I don't wanna see times like the great depression.

If we pass this bill the way it's written, we will have created a fourth branch of government from the office of the treasury and the Federal Reserve Banks with no oversite whatsoever by anyone.
