Maybe after they win, the Lord will see fit to take McCain home to heaven and we'll have a good president.

That is an absolutely despicable thing to say! How would you feel if someone looked forward to your demise to achieve a political goal? :)

The news events of the last several months point to a downward spiraling economy. Do you believe that God in His Divine Design may be sending this to purify the Church and create one last opportunity for seeds to be sown on fertile ground.

HEARD THAT WITH IN THE NEXT YEAR, THERE WILL BE A GOOD NUMBER ( BETWEEN 10 AND 20 ) MORE MAJOR INSTITUTIONS GOING UNDER.....

pushing the way for more government control.... the ones that are failing, the government is "loaning" them the money and then taking the control of the institution ( about 80% control )which means the government had the controling vote as to who, what, where, when, why and how things will be done with in that institution......

GOVERNMENT IS JUST TOOOOOOOOOOOO BIG FOR THEIR BRITCHES..........

time for revolution..... Jefferson even said a revolution is good for the country once in a while.....

Mr. Bush has never seen an opportunity to expand the power of government that he didn't like. Rino to the max. :)

Those comments didn't set well with me either. McCain may turn out to be a great President if elected. I do believe he is knowledgeable in the area of foreign policy, and that he would be a strong and independent leader. Regardless of how Democrats try to link him to Bush, he is his own man, and a McCain/Palin administration would be quite differen't from Bush and Cheney.

Agreed; I watched the debate tonight and John McCain was on top of his game. 72 isn't as old today as it would've been 50 years ago and his being smart enough to choose Sarah Palin, who I consider to be the most promising leader of my generation, has totally changed my view of McCain. :)

Someone tonight at a prayer meeting I was at mentioned something interesting.

Anyone here old enough to remember the financial situation in the 70's?

I was too young to know what was going on, but I recall huge price jumps in 3 consecutive years in the school lunches, milk and dessert. That reminds me of what's going on with the food prices now.

But anyway, apparently there were some bad shake-ups back then, too.

But in the 70's we saw a huge harvest of souls through such things as the Jesus Movement.

If we keep our eyes on Jesus, choosing not to fear but to have faith in the Lord, learn to listen and be directed by Him with our finances, invest in the Kingdom rather than the banks, we will see the glory and goodness of God working in our lives.

The Lord means for another huge harvest of souls, but it tends to take massive shaking up of the world and the things man relies on in order for hearts to be receptive to Him.

Let us choose not to whine, complain, bicker, point fingers, fear, judge, . . . . Rather, let us pray and praise and seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness!

Wouldn't you rather be in a position to be used of the Lord for the Harvest?

So please, prepare yourself for the Harvest. :)

I've thought of this too, nebula, and I hope we do have such a harvest. We need to be mindful that the Lord is in control and that we can do nothing without Him. Good post!

If all things work together for good to those that love God, who are the called according to His purpose, how can this be bad for us? Are there any here not looking for the soon coming of the Lord? This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come, and men shall wax worse. Is the Lord not going to call us home soon and punish this wicked world. Do you think if we get together and pray for Jesus not to come that He will delay His coming? Will His prophesies not come to pass?

Next I noticed that this thread digressed into a discussion of who will come to office in the elections. Does anyone think that God is not going to have the person He wants in office even if it were to be Pharaoh. The Bible says there is no power but of God, and the powers that be are ordained of God. The most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men, and whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God. Quit worrying about who God chooses because we belong to Him. I oft think of the song "His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me." We are in the cleft of the Rock and let the storms come; we'll trust in our Savior. AMEN?

I think God is doing this for a reason. As soon as I heard it I thought this almost immediately. God has his hand in evreything in the world why not the economy as well? I belive it might be a test to see what the leaders and the people of the nation are going to do. Because they have acted rebelous to God and to his people world wide.

My question is.. If the US can't recover from this who will rise up to help Israel? Or who will stand for Chrsitianity in the world? It would become a desperate time. And perhaps this whole thing is building up to it. The end times. Why not? All the signs are there.. people in Israel are making preperations for rebuilding God's Temple on the Temple Mount.. things are building up

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
