  4. Yes, This is verse is key. Lean not unto your own understanding. Believe in Jesus with all your might, and all your soul. If you want to go to church for fellowship, and emotional support. Whether or not you read or have a Bible is moot. How far you go with it, is moot. Trust in the Lord with all Your might, and lean not unto your own understanding. People who are persecuted in to not having a Bible are still Christians. Believing that Jesus is Your Savior is what makes you Saved.

  5. I agree. But there is a way to respond and state one's opinion without resorting to personal attack.. As you said, they take a disagreement as an attack on them personally, which of course it isn't unless they identify their persona with the subject. And their behavior is very often the opposite of turning the other cheek. Even when Paul writes about putting on the full armor of God, it is not to attack but to protect.

  7. What if and we know it's coming a one world Government and a chip put in every persons hand or somewhere in their body so they can buy, sell and have access to currency. It is closer then one thinks in fact it's already being experimented with this chip to track every penny spent and every action people do. What if this chip is implemented before Christ return? Will this be the mark of the beast? If so and Christ has not returned yet and we as Christians except this into our bodies will we be doomed to hell! Lets get real here if this happens how can a Christian live no food, no money, no transportation, no place to live as your property will be sold for unpaid taxes and the list goes on. Yes we can trust God but we are not in the wilderness with Moses so what could we do to survive.

  9. Revelation will only help marginally. The question was; 6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. (Act.1:6–7) In Matthew 21:43, our Lord Jesus informs Israel that although the Kingdom (and the King) were "at hand", He has ripped the Kingdom from Israel. The Kingdom is when Christ, together with diligent and faithful servants will rule the world (Rom.4:13). The question was NOT, "will Israel be restored as a Nation". That is guaranteed by the Promises in the Covenant with Abraham, and the following prophets. But will Israel have this loss of the Kingdom overturned? NO! 12 CHRISTIANS will rule Israel by Tribe, and David, who wrote extensively about the coming Messiah, will be second in the Kingdom of Israel (Jer.30:9). Israel will be restored to number 1 NATION. But they will never rule the earth.

  10. Romans 7 ends with men, even the most zealous, doomed. He possesses a sin-nature. Just as a dog will bark because he has a dog-nature, man will break God's laws automatically. Solomon is a perfect example of this. he is given the perfect environment for a man to serve God - and fails. The New Birth imparts the divine life into a man (Jn.3:3-6, 14-16, 2nd Pet.1:4). Once the born again man is trained how to use it, and he applies it, he is in a position to defeat sin. The only drawback is the flesh. It is un-savable. It must die and be resurrected. So man has an intrinsic enemy all his life (Gal.5:17).

  13. I have noticed in many posts on this forum and other forums that people that identify as Christians do not behave in a Christian manner. To me, being a Christian means having been born of the Spirit, a.k.a, born again, and therefore being guided by the Spirit. Paul defined the characteristics of a Spirit-filled person in Galatians 5:22, "the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." Yet very often I see people write posts filled with judgement, condemnation, extreme personal criticism and other negative qualities that are the exact opposite of this behavior. This shows up very often in political posts, where people attack others who don't agree with their views, but it is not limited to that area. It shows up everywhere, regardless of the topic. I see this, not only as unChristian behavior, but a sign of the very polarized times that we are living in. There is, of course, room for disagreement on a variety of topics, Christian or not, but that does not give anyone who identifies as a follower of Christ to behave in a vicious manner. I wonder, when people do that, if they have any understanding of what being led by the Spirit actually means or why they deny the clear command, in both Testaments, to love your neighbor as yourself.

  14. It is getting harder and harder to secure a Bible without an internet trail of it. This is a form of persecution in my eyes. If it isn't persecution, Then it is intimidation. It is getting harder and harder to secure a Bible without an internet history of purchasing one. The Christian bookstores, and bookstores in general, This is a form of persecution to me. People who are persecuted in to not privately owning their own Bible, From a Private Establishment, Bought and Paid in a Private like Setting, Or who are intimidated out of purchasing one from the internet with it being the only option, They are still Christians. People who are persecuted or intimidated out of having a Bible, or people who choose to not have a Bible, they are still Christians. If you go to Church, and are gifted a Bible in person, and in Private, this may be the only way. If you go to church, Someone might gift you a Bible in a private way, Or perhaps the Church maybe might have their own bookshop, But the last I checked, they don't anymore. People who are intimidated out of purchasing a Bible, are still Christians. Jesus, I Believe in You.

  15. It was the responsibility of the Levites to teach, conduct praise and perform music in the Temple, as they were ordered by David. This is now the calling of the Church. Here is the only reference I know of from the Gospels of Jesus singing a hymn with His followers. Matthew 26:30 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

  16. You can have that opinion, I have no problem in general, but I don't understand why those of other persuasions feel the need to always point out we are wrong in every reply to a post where we speak of our understandings (which is correct and will be proven so soon). Now above in my post/reply unto shanee I show why preaching anything but the Pre Trib will cost many people to perish in the 70th week, needlessly. Anything that cost humans to go to hell I feel the need to speak up and point it out, when challenged.

  18. The smog has been so heavy that I had put off painting a patio, but when it started raining I went for it. Course now with the high humidity the paint doesn't dry well. Oh well, more time between coats or back brush it while it is wet I guess. Looks like the light rain will continue awhile. Perhaps a good thing! I do wonder if the smoke is above the rain clouds too or if the rains are knocking it all down. Maybe it is a personal blessing in that it is also slowing this old body down. I am settling for getting done about half of what I would normally demand of my body. Makes me wonder just a bit as to what colors will our spiritual body's eyes perceive, and will there be maintenance at the New Earth?

  24. There is plenty of experimentation of the speed of light. I'm not sure what you are referring to the speed of the medium. The common velocity of light is of course based on a vacuum. Velocity of light is not dependent on the velocity of the emitting body. Assuming a pressure wave behaves the same as light is problematic. That's circular reasoning followed by interpretative speculation. Sure, these are assumptions, but as the observations made confirm the assumption of constancy, that only strengthens the underlying assumption. Also, there is other evidence of space expanding, in fact, expanding at a far greater rate than originally predicted. You can't just start messing around with the velocity of light as that will have some profound implications in lots of other areas. As for having an open mind, it's good to have a screen to keep the bugs out.

  26. I do not think that personal attacks are appropriate. That type of behavior is described as ad hominem. Ad hominem means “against the man,” and this type of fallacy is sometimes called name calling or the personal attack fallacy. This type of fallacy occurs when someone attacks the person instead of attacking his or her argument.

  27. But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ 46 An argument started among the disciples as to which of them would be the greatest. 47 Jesus, knowing their thoughts, took a little child and had him stand beside him. 48 Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.” Everybody is fighting a battle we know nothing about. Be nice...and pray for them. Really. We reap what we sow. Vindication can be best a silent touch by the spirit, not public.

  34. Your observation is not incorrect. Christians, even though we do have the life of God in us, also remain in this flesh (while in this earthly tent). And according to Paul in Romans 7, no good thing is dwelling in the flesh. So we are capable of heights of love through our spirit and the depths of depravity through our flesh . . . more of a possible fluctuation than those who are not born-again. And we never know what is going on in a poster's situation and environment, to bring them to the place they are whenever making a comment. So this is yet another opportunity for us to choose to live according to the renewed Spirit in us, and exhibit Christ's love, patience, longsuffering, gentleness and wisdom. Life is full of these opportunities to gain Christ and great is our reward for doing so!

Guess if I am to be around during many of these signs I have a personal wish/prayer that the gnats and mosquitos be burned up first. I think there might be a plague of gnats. I can hardly get out of my car when in Georgia, USA- they are there, waiting for me personally I think. My wife says it is because I am so sweet. Yeah sure dear. Have a gnat? They are good once you acquire a taste for them. I can hardly wait to get back to Florida and fire ants.

  38. A few googled stats; More than 20 million acres have been charred by wildfires in Canada so far this year. This year's wildfire season is already the country's worst in at least a decade Wildfires in Canada have burned a staggering 25 million acres so far this year, an area roughly the size of Kentucky. With more than a month of peak fire season left to go, 2023 has already eclipsed Canada's previous annual record from 1989, when over 18 million acres were scorched. Canada's eastern provinces like Quebec, Ontario and Nova Scotia have been hit particularly hard this year by large and at times uncontrollable blazes. As of June 27, there are 480 active fires across the country, with 251 out of control and 152 under control, according to the Canadian Inter agency Forest Fire Center. Officials on Tuesday reported the highest number of active fires in Quebec. British Columbia, along Canada's west coast, had the second-highest number of active blazes followed by Alberta and Ontario. The fires have scorched at least 7.8 million hectares — or around 19.2 million acres — of land across Canada since the start of this year, according to the fire agency. The acreage has surpassed the previous annual record from 1989, reported by the National Forest Database. Are wildfires in Canada common? Wildfires are common during this time of year when warmer, dry weather creates the perfect environment for blazes, especially in Canada's forests. However, devastation from this season's fires has put the country on track for the worst wildfire season in recent years. Wildfire Causes. The B.C. government says the majority of wildfires each year are caused by lightning, while in Alberta, the majority are caused by humans — including from off-road vehicles, campfires, fireworks, ammunition, industrial activity, agriculture, power lines and some arson.

  39. There is no description of any believer being resurrected and then taken to heaven. Rather, the Bible is clear that there will be ONE resurrection of ALL believers: Dan 12;2, John 5:29, and Acts 24:15. In 1 Cor 15:23, the ONE resurrection of ALL believers will be "when He comes" a clear reference to the Second Advent, which will occur at the end of the Tribulation. And, Heb 9:28 says "so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him." This verse shows there are only TWO advents; the first was "to take away the sins of many", He came as a human baby to become the Suffering Servant and to die for the sins of mankind. The second will be the Second Advent. That is when all believers will receive their resurrection body.

  40. We need not ascend into heaven to receive Christ, because the Word will come down from heaven; even as Christ came down from the Father in heaven. Jesus said… John 3:13 “And no man hath "ascended up" to heaven, but he that "came down" from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.” (The Word comes down to dwell “in”us) Romans 10:6-8 “But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall "ascend" into heaven? (that is, to bring "Christ down" from above) 7 Or, Who shall "descend" into the deep? (that is, to bring up "Christ" again from the dead.) 8 But what saith it? "The word" is nigh thee, even "in" thy mouth, and "in" thy heart: that is, “the word of faith,” which we preach;” This above also confirms Christ is "the Word", and the very words of God come down from heaven, spoken also by Moses to all of Israel. Paul in Romans 10:6-8 is pulling these words from Deuteronomy chapter 30 verses 11-14 concerning all the Lord commanded him to speak.” Deuteronomy 30:11-14 11 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off. 12 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? 13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? 14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.” If God has written His words upon your heart/mind by the Holy Spirit, then Christ is “in” you, and you are “in” Christ. John 14:18-21 King James Version 18 I will not leave you comfortless: “I will come to you.” 19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; “but ye see me:” because I live, ye shall live also. 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I “in”you. 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will “manifest myself” to him.” 2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is “in”you, except ye be reprobates? In Christ

  41. 1 Chronicles 12:16-18 Then some of the sons of Benjamin and Judah came to David at the stronghold. And David went out to meet them, and answered and said to them, “If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart will be united with you; but if to betray me to my enemies, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers look and bring judgment.” Then the Spirit came upon Amasai, chief of the captains, and he said: “We are yours, O David; We are on your side, O son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, And peace to your helpers! For your God helps you.” So David received them, and made them captains of the troop. Mark 6:7 And He called the twelve to Himself, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits. As David grew in stature those who stood by him increased in number, devoting themselves to fight with him. Though it was a time of adversity for David, and a time of warfare, he found that there were many willing to join their lives to his; “…a brother is born for adversity”; and “there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother”. Again we note that David’s anointing and his character made him a friend to many…and many became his loyal friends. When Yeshua (Jesus) sent his disciples out, He never sent them alone — He sent them two by two; and no doubt these pairs of disciples developed deep loyalty, unity and friendship as they proclaimed the kingdom and faced the powers of darkness together. How would you describe your friendships in the Body of Messiah? Do you feel isolated, fighting battles alone? Do you know others who are in that condition? With the battles now raging, it’s more important than ever to be a friend, and to really know who your friends are. May the Lord grant each one of us loyal and faithful friendships as we fight the good fight. Never miss a devotion again! Sign up for our Worthy Briefs! We're being CENSORED ... HELP get the WORD OUT! These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
