  1. Worthy is a great place. Getting to know people from around the world. That belong to Jesus our savior. It’s not about winning arguments. It’s about showing Jesus to the members. If Jesus is not here at worthy then it means very little. He is here. Wherever three are gathered together in my name I am there. I hope I quoted it correctly. So we should fear if the lord is here to take it lightly.

  2. As one who mainly posts in the " nonsense " threads I have to say unless you get to know your brothers and sisters as we do in these fun threads how are you to know what is hurting them ? How are you to comfort them and help them if you only see the serious side ? In UNI if I had a problem ( and as a single mum of 4 children doing my degrees it really did happen ) it was NOT to the stern lecturers I turned to it was to the friendly understanding ones who would be more likely to offer a friendly encouragement than a stern " work harder " message Some of us that are more house bound than others may not actually see another soul for days so having someone to joke and laugh with can do far more good for the soul than an argumentative " I am right and everyone else is wrong " type that we see too often in the deeper threads ( YES I do read most of them but do not feel inclined to debate them with people who just want to be told how right they are ) There are many that I miss especially the ones with the gift of encouragement and joy in their hearts

  3. You know we have a TOS and those looking will deal with offenders. If we can't be teased, I think we have a long way to go personally. You still are not getting my point. Most theologians are all about the cold hard theology. This is why we have unsaved theologians. Jesus condemned those who knew the law but never displayed any genuine love of the Lord because they were devoid of it.

  4. The fact that there are members of Worthy who appear to prefer silly light-heartedness to the usual fare elsewhere in the forum says something, yes? It does. I understand why.

  5. Sometimes -I wish it was all times- before I post I find it a good idea to wait a minute or so and reread what I have written then ask myself: "Is there a nicer or kinder way I can say this?" or "Do I need to say anything at all about this?". It is said that you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar and I always try to keep that i mind even though I have a strong tendency to post before thinking. When in conflict with another maybe that's not a bad idea for everyone to consider. I see many calling themselves Christian throwing scripture back and forth at each other in hostility the same way enemies soldiers might throw spears at each other. While I do not have the authority to judge this, I do see it as building discord within the Church, the body of Christ. instead of harmony. Just my thoughts s of late, maybe nothing of value for anyone but myself. I know this is a judgmental thing to say. but I feel a need to say it anyway. May the Lord bless and guide all of us in all that we do and say this day.

  6. People have strong convictions about what they believe and they think they are in the place to rightfully pass judgment as to who is a "wolf" or a "wolf in sheep's clothing". Paul was seen by the Circumcision as a wolf in sheep's clothing and the same goes for the Sabath keepers.

  7. Yeah that's what I miss in my life. Revival. I once went to an atheist forum with mainly angry ex christians who tried to trick you to come in with a topic 200 questions for the believer. I was really naive, had just discovered forums even existed and was like: Yay! Lets convert this bunch! That was really stupid, but I prayed for them and God gave me a dream. A lot of birds were ensnared and in a room and then the overseeer left for a moment and I quickly opened their traps and freed em. I want all these atheists saved. I want to give them proof. I pray the church stands up and shows them proof. I mean if people get raised from the dead I can't believe that they stay atheist. And one great testimony I read from a guy who was atheist and no fantastic miracles happened, but he moved to a place where a lot of christians lived and because there was such unity and love between them he became convinced that God existed. that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. John 17:21 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/jhn.17.21.NKJV There's a man who went to the street with a group and they got 2000 people saved in 2 years and I went to his Bible studies and God was present there so strong. He preached about the widow who had to search for empty vessels and the oil kept flowing, which was exactly what you could notice there, cause they continually looked for empty vessels on the street.

  8. Reminders – Complete in Him None can deny the importance of the Holy Scriptures, the written Word of God. Also referred to as the oracles of God, they are the recorded utterances of the creator. Holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit and wrote those words down for men to read. 2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16 Yet as important as the Scriptures are, knowledge of them is incomplete without the manifestation of the Living Word of God as revealed by the Holy Spirit. Ultimately, the whole Bible that we hold in our hands is the revelation of Jesus, who is the Word of God, the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Colossians 2:9 Jesus placed extreme importance on the Word, describing it as the nourishment of life saying, “It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” Luke 4:4 But Jesus also recognized that just having an intellectual knowledge of the Scriptures was like eating air, worthless without the Holy Spirit giving understanding of them. He often spoke in parables that even His disciples did not understand without His explanation. The Pharisees took great pride in their knowledge of the Holy Scriptures, having memorized large portions of them, and yet Jesus said this to them, “Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And you will not come to me, that you might have life.” John 5:39 The Scriptures are the words of life, and those words tell us of God’s singular message, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus said no one could come to the Father except by Him. John 14:6 After His resurrection, Jesus spoke with two of His disciples on the way to Emmaus, “And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.” “And their eyes were opened, and they knew him.” Luke 24:27, 31 Final Thoughts: There are four truths we can glean from this. 1) Our knowledge of the Scriptures is not complete without the Holy Spirit teaching us what is written there, “…that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” 1 Corinthians 2:12-13 2) The Holy Spirit’s work is not complete without the revelation of Jesus Christ to us, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. He shall glorify me:” John 16:13-14 3) The body of Christ is not complete until those whom He calls receive Him by faith. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13 4) We are now the sons of God, the body of Christ and “We are complete in Him.” Colossians 2:10 Hallelujah! ph

  9. Hi Starise, I see the two going together - God working on the inside (attitudes, behaviors, motives) while we are helping others. When we are with people then that is when such arise in our hearts and the Holy Spirit can highlight it to us - then or later.

  10. To touch upon that in more detail, @FJK, consider the widely held sentiment that those who are not in Christ are consigned to condemnation. This isn't always true, and the testimony of the scriptures bears witness to that. It's not our place in this world to pass such judgment. Without delving into decidedly off topic territory --- thus bringing things back into topical focus --- the only thing that makes us different from others has to do with our estate. Our estate is in Jesus Christ, with whom we are joint heirs. Our place is with Him always... but the testimony of scripture directly implies that some who are not in Christ will be shown mercy by the Lord. He surely was merciful toward me when I didn't know Him.

  12. You might remember how I characterized my time in the Army as the first reprieve in my life from a decidedly pathological focus upon myself. Why was military service a reprieve from that? I was forced to focus upon matters and things that didn't pertain to what was going on inside of me. Was I breathing? Could I move? Good, then I'm perfectly able to carry out my duties! No grumbling, whining, or complaining required. That was a foreshadowing of what the Lord had in store after my time in the U.S. Army was finished, brother. The Lord gave me Himself, and He is greater than I am; giving my life to Christ and dedicating myself to serving Him is the fullness of that example of military service. Considering my neighbor (by extension, you as well) before I consider myself was the means by which I was delivered from the damage I suffered growing up. That was how the Lord purposed to heal the wounds caused by that damage: Look around. Does my neighbor have a need? Am I able to meet that need? Good, then I'm perfectly able to carry out my labor of love in Jesus Christ!

  13. Blessings @faithfull-prophet4040 I was sad reading your OP,I just had this exact same question asked only days ago from a Sister.... It was almost word for word telling me all the things she TRIES & TRIES to be pleasing and acceptable to God .After I responded by suggesting she immerse herself in His Word she literally cut me off excitedly to say how she listens to this preacher, that preachers videos, the Bible on Audio with a commentator, movies ABOUT Jesus, the Bible ALL the time ,etc etc I said " pick up the Bible and SEEK God with ALL your heart ,soul and mind IN Christ Jesus" You see, there's a huge difference between knowing all about the Word and Knowing the Living Word of God,Jesus. Its a matter of dying to oneself and Living IN Christ and He IN you_ Knowing Him vs knowing about Him- the saying let go & let God requires no ' effort' it is submitting to Christ to access His Heart and Mind by the Power of Holy Spirit that we are Moved to Walk in His Will and His Ways - there's no TRYING in any of it- you only need feed your spirit in order to Grow in your RELATIONSHIP I do hope this is helpful- I hope and pray you Receive what is Given here.... get out of your way with all this TRYING and meditate on the Word while seeking Him,He Knows your heart and will Reveal Himself to you BUT the only thing you MUST TRY are the spirits- I don't imagine our Heavenly Father would Lead anyone to walk without socks in the dead of winter for many miles - how does this Glorify our Loving Father?I thibk it makes you seem tue martyr for what effectivd purpose, you see?You must always Try( test) the spirits We all have a Purpose,we are Called for an elected Purpose that we are well Equipt for- that Purpose Will Always Give God Glory, Honor & Praise.... You need to Know Him to Fill that void as only He Can do.... Less of you my Friend will result in More of Him❤️ Praying for you,be Encouraged ,let go and let God - He Waits with Open Arms to Bring you nearer His Bosom With love in Christ, Kwik

Praying for the poor is cool, but praying to our father to show us ways we can help individually or within our congregation is walking in faith, abiding. Most everybody is aware of the needy and the problems. Christians can act and take this to the Lord and then become part of the solution as God directs each of us.

  16. I see your point and it is difficult to control those situations, or if there are stringent controls, then isolation would be a part of the ministry. The way I see it, is Worthy is foremost a testimonial forum. It is difficult as it is to witness out in the open air physical environment as the public seems to be more antagonistic, especially in the metropolitan areas. People have a lot of curious questions and they may feel more comfortable behind the keyboard to be more open. Yes, there are the trolls and others that come to disrupt and cause discord, but this is the price for open forum. Some controls as to TOS, are put in place and it is up to the reader to choose his plate and cup. Frequent users of the forum would see all the mischiefs and deliberate disrupters, and would dislike it, and who can blame them. The way I look at it, is , those who come to cause confusion ect. , would hear the Gospel and that will be their decision on how they see the truths . They can then have that Damascus experience and come home, or can continue in folly.

  17. Wow. This one is very close to my heart. To me sometimes it seems they are a hair's width from seeing things, but there is all of this disinformation out there and then they come to Christian web sites and argue with other Christians more than willing to argue back with them. It's a really mean almost endless cycle. There is one atheist I pray for in particular that they will get saved. This is really entrenched enemy territory folks and we need to be about breaking it. So many disillusioned people out there who can only seem to see the natural side of things missing out on the spiritual things. Many falsely 'assume' some atheists are avoiding God. That might be some, but I think most are just not even there yet. Of course atheism falls when it is closely analyzed on what makes it tick and why. It isn't a belief many go to. It is more of a default belief because they really can't or don't see God. Yet we DO know it's real. The trick for me has always been trying to help them to see it, and it can be so sad to watch it all happening. They are individuals like anyone else and maybe no two of them have exactly the same story to tell. Can you be more specific about that dream. Do you think God releases their minds?

  18. We've been here about the same amount of time and I agree it is different. I might add that the change isn't all bad either. I still remember well the way the Butero gang treated people. When I log on, I read through all the thread titles that I haven't read before and post on those that interest me. You can see the general attitudes from reading the first few lines. While there are several threads of light-hearted stuff, it is not near a majority For us older folks, it may be that we've seen the same discussions over and over each year in different threads; and sometimes the same subject in multiple threads. I might just say that the old days don't seem to me to be a place that showed a good Christian attitude from too many of its posters.

  20. People in the pavilion are sandboxed. It was only recently I realized they are not privy to it. The area is labled as only for persons agreeing with our statement of faith. Yet we have a few with access who do not agree with our SOF already. I think lighter discussion with unbelievers could be very helpful if they behave themselves. Frankly if I was sandboxed like that I would not stay in it. If they make trouble, well that's something else.

  21. This is why I don't believe that area should be so closed off. Let everyone see it. It seems like a back room. I recently had a person in the pavilion say the can't see "what's for dinner" so I posted some pics over there. Why can't they see it too? I have enjoyed greatly our exchanges there. No it isn't deep stuff, but fellowship does not involve reading chapers of scripture back and forth, it's about us being us and enjoying each other's company. And no, that format doesn't fare well with everyone.

  22. All of life on planet earth has changed over 16 years, especially so in the pandemic world and now the endemic one. It is not going back to what it used to be, not anywhere. It is impossible to reach out to the world by lecturing it. That never did work well anyway. New methods, new styles, new interactions, all are indeed so very different now than even just two years ago. The message of the gospel is constant, but the sharing of it is indeed different. I think it a good thing myself. I do not lament for yesterday. I was there for all the lectures and lecturers about life eternal. Never made an impression upon me. It turns out it is all wind until the Holy Spirit turns a person about, that no one saves another person. What a Christian does is live out the new life once turned about from sin against God to instead following Jesus. Did Jesus socialize? I suspect he did. He was accused of it it seems to me. Would Jesus use a cell phone or a message board today? I suspect he does- through the Holy Spirit leading many a Christian, a person born again, to share of the gospel as they live it not just lecture others about it. It does take time, and that is alright by me too. Today all is about being social and being an influencer or being influenced. What an opportunity to share that Jesus is God! I can say that at 4:30 AM at my spot on earth and it can be picked up on any time anywhere and chatted about or debated. How very cool that is. Jesus is God.

  25. I would say, that you have to recognize that as long as we live in this world with the flesh, and the devil around to tempt and seduce. Each individual would go through his own trials, troubles and situations, but the word must be your companion all the time to stand firm as to the truths by which you must abide. What does the word say, to watch out, for the devil seeks whom he may destroy 1Peter 5:8. Next, you must put on the full armor of Gof Ephesian 6:10. The devil wants you back into the world to live under his dominion and you to doubt your salvation. So, you have to help yourself, be employed and determined to live Godly, the Lord would not leave you, he promised that. Determine to stay the course, you have to fight the good fight of faith . As you get yourself cleaned up, determine not to go back into darkness, but stay with the word and if you can find good community and fellowship in your town it will give you strength. You may not always find perfect fellowship, but don't give in to the lies of the enemy. Fear God and you will stay in the right pathways. Call upon the Lord to keep you in your walk, don't refrain. All that you have written, seems to be you have a good understanding of how you are to live, but understand , it is your heart that the Lord wants to fellowship . Surrender to him. Proverbs 23:26 My son, give me your heart, And let your eyes observe my ways.

  26. When I look through the thread at the time demographics of when each poster joined, I can see that just about every member who has experienced the change, and miss the "old days", are long time posters, unless fellowship is the main reason for being here. Those who like how the site has evolved have not been here all that long, so they don't know the extend of change that has taken place. To them, it's basically the same site it was when they joined. They even express wonder as to why the fuss, which is understandable due to not having gone through the process. As shown in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, which shows us that everything has it's season, notice that there is a balance in life, which is His design. It's when this life becomes unbalanced, one way or the other, that we notice something is not right. If there is too much seriousness and not enough relaxation, we become unbalanced. The same for the opposite ... too much fun and not enough seriousness, we also become unbalanced. This brings me back to my first paragraph above where some feel the unbalance and other don't. It's time to get back to being balanced.

  30. Not biting. If I wanted to debate theology with an unbeliever I would go to the atheist forums. Jesus said "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled." Jesus believed that the Bible was true. He was there from the beginning. You can believe what you want to believe, but remember: "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

  31. He very specifically said how He did it and how long it took. Stop pretending He didn't. We both know man and animals were created on the sixth day of creation. We both know that evolution is a direct opposite of the creation, and you can only believe in one or the other. You chose to believe evolution, and you reject every word of Scripture that disagrees (which is a lot). Considering that animals were created on the sixth day and the Sabbath LITERALLY the next, your claim is quite obviously just another false claim. You're good at them. You've put out more fiction than Corín Tellado (a Spanish romance writer with 4,000 published books). Your post about biorhythms has NOTHING whatever to do with the creation of the seven day week. It's just another diversion.

It was added as serious bible queries were not showing up on the front page as those type of threads were being responded to much quicker than the biblical queries were, forcing them out of sight. The forums were dedicated to christian discussions, even when they were not always about scripture clarification itself.

  35. Been here since 2016 and though I am not a frequent visitor, I do enjoy the time spent here. Topics vary and everyone has a right to his opinion as long as they abide by rules of the forum. There use to be some smart and knowlegeable folks that kept the forum ticking. Can't remember their names, but two comes to mind, Ezra and Yowm, it think i may have mispelt the last one. Anyway, as in any open forum, there are bound to be disagreements and things can get heated at times, also written words sometimes can be misconstrued as we know. Still, this is a good place to ask questions, read in silence at your own time and pace , and fire of a round or two, when you think you can contribute. It whats make this forum a place to visit and get to know people and their background, with testimonies and also you the individual sharing also. George has been generous with his time and effort, as I could imagine it takes a lot to put this together and then moderate ect. All in all, I love it and lets keep it going in the love of community and sharing the many aspect of the Chritian life. Also and most importantly, it is a place where the testimony of all can enlighten those who visit , to know who Jesus Christ , the Gospel and all that pertains to Christianity, the different agruments for and against ect.

  37. Hi OneLight, Interesting view. Now, you have been on Worthy longer than me But still I have been round a while. I remember you helped me when I was having a debate (in the debate section) with Shiloh. I had forgotten the format and you reminded me. Thanks again. I also remember that there were a few strong `players` who knew how to `attack` a person without getting into trouble. I was `attacked by some and even a moderator behind the scenes but dear George stepped and I`m still here but the other, well gone. Now, I do see people getting help, as I move around and reply there. I do see encouraging music and song, I see people having good fun and fellowship. The reading of which makes me have a good laugh. And yet I also do wonder at the topics that get started, but think well, more people are getting bolder to start them. And I see Vine Abider and Starise and others start threads that lift us up to know the Lord more. I think your inner group have either passed away or moved on. The groups of relating ones keep changing but we continue as the Lord leads. regards, Marilyn.

You say God wanted you to do......then you say God was telling you that you didn`t have to do them....... You are NOT hearing God. You are hearing your own insecurities. I strongly suggest you don`t DO anything but concentrate on the Lord and His character from God`s word . Focus on HIM and NOT YOURSELF.

  39. What, you want to bicker back and forth using scripture without voicing an opinion of your own? Tell me what you disagree with with my post and take your stand. I can post scripture also, but refuse to use scripture as a weapon against another believer. Doing so could lead to us both easily becoming childish trying to up on another by quoting scripture, which is misuse of scripture in my view. Notice that the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, is used against our enemies as a weapon, not other believers. Scripture is to be taken to heart for a purpose, not a substitute for meaningful conversation.

  40. Morning Starise, I`m sorry if you got that impression but that is not what I said or meant. Jesus exhorted them - "Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also." (Matt. 23: 26) I think we are trying to get the outside all sparkling new, whereas the Lord says it is the inside that needs the attention first.

  41. @Starise It seems you are looking for a directed response Brother. Your title asks us to "Please Describe How You See Worthy", which is a great question, hoping for honest opinions. Then, your poll title asks a slightly different question of "Why Am I At Worthy", narrowing the possible responses. Then the poll itself clearly directs the reader to respond to one statement, "I like Worthy because..", purposefully directing the conversation to discuss only what people like about worthy. Why such a change when your thread title was the best question of all? Did you really want to know?

  42. I learn this prayer fron sister Basilea Schlink. At a certain time then, I can’t pray. I started to collect prayers from godly man or woman. I just practice their prayer and make it my own. I begin to understand that we need prayer for different occasions. When again I am burdened with cares, the burden become so big like avalanche-may be at times I am overthinking about my troubles. So I come to look for this prayer that I collect and pray for God’s deliverance. Another this prayer, I collect and pray; You are love. You are a Father which art in heaven and so You will not let me drown in my cares and worries. You are a Helper in the day of troubles. You always know what to do. You are Almighty. For You, my problems are never too difficult. You always have a solution, even if I do not see any. You never lay too many burdens upon me. You let all things work for the best for me. Amen

  45. Hmm, the first option of your poll is my choice with the possible exception of "like minded." The connotation of the latter to me conveys someone whom I agree with the majority of the time. That isn't necessary for fellowship so long as we are in Christ. Why? Not all things are important enough to matter. For example, I avoid politics but if my brother or sister doesn't, that isn't something that matters to me.

  46. Why this should happen to humans is an incomprehensible problem for YE creationism, but it's completely understandable in light of evolution.

  47. 8 Characteristics of the Spirit of Jezebel 1. It Operates in Men and Women I remember a time when I was doing deliverance on this man and the spirit of Jezebel manifested. It had been causing lust in his life and after the guy was delivered, he was free from pornography. It is a lie that this spirit only operates in women through the means of control. 2. It Causes Control, Manipulation, & Domination (A Form of Witchcraft) Manipulation, intimidation, and the desire or impulse to control people is a characteristic of Jezebel. The Bible says the fruit of the Holy Spirit is, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control…” Galatians 5:22 The fruit of Jezebel is people-control. It causes a desire to control the surroundings and even people, while never producing “self-control.” 3. It Causes Fear, Flight, and Discouragement Jezebel is good at causing intimidation in people. Scripture highlights that she didn’t kill Elijah, she simply sent a messenger to discourage him and make him run in fear of his life. Elijah was afraid when he got her message, and he ran to the town of Beersheba in Judah. He left his servant there, then walked another whole day into the desert. Finally, he came to a large bush and sat down in its shade. He begged the Lord, “I’ve had enough. Just let me die! I’m no better off than my ancestors.” 1 Kings 19:3-4 Elijah was a powerful man of God. He brought fire down from heaven with his command; he seemed fearless! However, this threat was enough to instill fear and even depression in his life. This happened shortly after he had such a great victory on Mount Carmel (1 Kings 18). A lot of times, after great victories, this spirit will try and bring deep despair to a person. They might even feel as though they don’t want to live, and it causes cycles of burnout. If the enemy can’t attack you head-on, he will wear you out. Learn to find comfort in the still, quiet voice of the Holy Spirit. 4. It Seduces and Provokes Sexual Immorality Revelation says, …You allow Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality… Revelation 2:20 Many of us have heard stories of men of God who have fallen into this sin. They have been seduced, have come under discouragement, and have fallen into the enemy’s trap. When Jehu came to destroy Jezebel, she came out of the window and made sure to have makeup on. Her plan was to seduce Jehu. Jezebel is after ministers of God. This is very common because of the authority in which they stand. When someone in authority falls, the news doesn’t just affect the immediate family, but they also affect those who believed in them and followed their ministry. Take time to pray for your pastors, for the men and women God has placed in leadership roles around you. The higher that God takes a person, the more the enemy wants to attack them and so they will fall into sin, affecting the faith of many as a result. When David committed sexual immorality with Bathsheba, the Lord said, However, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme…” 2 Samuel 12:14 His sin had given leeway for others to doubt and blaspheme the God that David served. The enemy will often use this tactic to cause ministers of God to fall into pornography, adultery, and other sexual sins. 5. Teaches False Doctrine In the Old Testament, Jezebel was in full control of religion. Not only was she a queen, but Scripture describes her as a religious leader in charge of many prophets who worked alongside her to control the religious climate of that time. In Revelation, we see the same thing. She calls herself a prophetess, and we see that she is influential enough to persuade the culture of the church through her teachings. Jezebel is someone who preaches other truths other than the Gospel. No matter how good a person’s outward appearance is, if the doctrine they are presenting goes contrary to that of Scripture, steer clear from them and their message. Jezebel is not just seductive and controlling, it also has the characteristic of a teacher. Always be cautious that you don’t fall under the influence of Jezebel by teaching something that is not true according to the Scriptures. 6. Loves Leadership Positions Jezebel was not just a servant; she was a queen. In Revelation, we see that she was a prophetess. I am always cautious when I see young men or women who seem to love the spotlight. They can’t live without a microphone or a podium because it feeds a sense of worth and value. It is dangerous to feed this insecurity through this means. By doing so, you can unknowingly allow this spirit to overtake you, and begin to influence the church and the kingdom of God through your desire for fame. Then, instead of being used by God, you will be a puppet for the enemy’s schemes. 7. Thrives Where Leadership is Weak For every Jezebel, there is an Ahab. Ahab has a very passive character and was unwilling to confront Jezebel. God had to send Jehu to take her out because Ahab couldn’t. Jezebel thrives in areas where leadership is afraid of confrontation. When leadership is passive and fears any conflict that may occur when confronting Jezebel, they are acting just as Ahab did–enabling. We don’t have to love confrontation, but part of the challenge of being in leadership in the church or being a pastor is spotting and confronting Jezebel. To do that you must have the spirit of Elijah, the characteristic that he displayed when he fought the evil brought about by her. Before you run off and confront everyone that you don’t get along with within the church, deal with Jezebel within your own life. Certain habits, desire for control, discouragements, sexual sins, desires for fame– deal with these areas first before you deal with them in others. Afterward, don’t be afraid of men, but confront those behaviors. 8. Not Repentant Jezebel is usually not repentant. We see in 1 King that she never repented, she had to be punished. And in the book of Revelation, God gives her a chance to repent, but she was unwilling. I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling. Revelation 2:21 There are consequences to allowing this wicked spirit to operate in your life. If you notice your behavior being influenced by this spirit, or others around you, repent and confront that witch head-on. Don’t give a place to Jezebel in your life. You can overcome Jezebel by the blood of Jesus, repentance of sin, and seeking to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

  48. 1. Master manipulator The Jezebel spirit is a master manipulator. It will try to control you by any means necessary. One of the most common ways it does this is by playing on your emotions. It will try to make you feel guilty or ashamed and use your insecurities against you. If you are not careful, the Jezebel spirit can take over your life and cause havoc. 2. Fear Jezebel will try to scare you into submission. It may threaten you with physical violence, false accusations or worse. The Jezebel spirit can destroy your reputation and ruin your relationships if you are not careful. 3. Seduction Jezebel will try to lure you into sexual sin. It may even convince you one way or another. The Jezebel spirit is known for using witchcraft to control its victims. If you are not careful, the Jezebel spirit can lead you down a dark path that will be difficult to escape from. A quick caveat: This doesn’t mean that everyone who has this Spirit is seductive in an outward sense, but inwardly. Remember 1 Samuel 16:7 which states “But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 4. Crafty Jezebel is crafty, sneaky, and always tries to stay one step ahead. She achieves her desires through indirect or deceitful methods. Thus, if you don’t discern, her tactics are often successful because those she targets cannot see through her facade. 5. Lack of submission to authority It is a spirit of lawlessness. This spirit does not want to submit to any authority, including the authority of God. The Jezebel spirit wants everyone to follow her and do things her way. 6. Rebellion The Jezebel spirit is a spirit of rebellion. The Jezebel spirit is very dangerous, and it can have a very negative influence on human beings. If you are under the influence of this spirit, it will be very difficult for you to submit to authority. You will always want to do things your way, and you will rebel against anyone trying to tell you what to do. 7. Control The Jezebel spirit is very controlling. It wants to control everything and everyone around it. This includes, but is not limited to, controlling what people think, what they do, and how they feel. The Jezebel spirit will go to great lengths to control the people in its life. 8. Prideful The Jezebel spirit thinks highly of itself and loves to be the center of attention. The Jezebel spirit loves to be worshiped and adored. It will often try to take credit for things it did not do. 9. Intimidation Another way that the Jezebel spirit operates is through intimidation. It will try to intimidate people into doing what it wants them to do. 10. Attracted to positions of power The Jezebel spirit is attracted to people who are in positions of power. It loves to control them and use them for its own purposes.

  49. Sympathy for Judas Iscariot has become popular since Jesus Christ Superstar (The Judas parts are based on gnostic gospel of Judas, a false gospel). Like Milton’s Paradise Lost that tried to make the devil sympathetic (ugh), there is a concerted effort to make Judas seem like he had good rational for what he did. Well Scripture disagrees, for one he was possessed of the evil one, “Then Satan entered Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve apostles.” (Luke 22:3) Now some try to make Judas a victim, that poor him, the devil took him over! He had no choice. That is wrong. Satan filled Judas because there was a place in Judas, remember he was already sinning by stealing from treasury, “But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (he who was about to betray him), said, “Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?” He said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief, and having charge of the moneybag he used to help himself to what was put into it.” (John 12:4-6). He was already doing evil which shows his heart. Finally Jesus says Judas is lost, “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.” (John 17:12). I find sympathy for Judas is dangerous. His story is a cautionary tale of you can be a disciple of the Lord and become a Son of Perdition, a title the Antichrist will even possess (2 Thessalonians 2:3).
