I will side with unbelieving Israel when they finally accept their Messiah.  Zech 3:9b - I will remove the sin of this land in a single day.  and 13:8-9 - In the whole land declares the Lord, two thirds will be struck down and perish, yet one third will be left in it.  This third I will bring into the fire, I will refine them like silver and test them like gold.  They will call on my name and I will answer them;  I will say they are my people, and they will say the Lord is our God.

 

Yes Israel is blinded, but up until they see the Messiah at the Second Coming. Zech 12:10 - And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication.  They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn....  And this will be the fulfillment of Dan 9:24 - Seventy Sevens are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy.

 

At the Second Coming Israel (His people, seed) accepts their Messiah (His blessing),  They receive their full land which was given to Abraham.  This is the Abrahamic  Covenant which was passed to Issac and Jacob and his descendants.  A Land (from one river [Euphrates to the other, maybe the Nile or some river closer to Israel], a Seed (Israel) and a Blessing (Jesus Christ).

No mortal being on earth will see the risen Lord, because the Holy Spirit is here to stay. You cannot come into the presence of Christ unless you be raised in your post resurrection celestial bodies.

You said it very clearly -

 

`They will look on me whom they have pierced; & they will mourn for Him,....` (Zech. 12: 10)

 

 

Do you notice, `Defending the Name,` that these people `mourn?` Only in our natural physical bodies do people mourn. When we have our resurrected bodies there will be no more tears, no more mourning etc.  Thus these people, looking at the Lord, are in their natural, physical bodies. Also remember when Christ rose in His new body, people saw Him & even touched Him.

 

I think what you are talking about is the `holy presence` of the Lord. But remember He is a gracious & forgiving God so that He does not annihilate those who repent, & only sends forth the `sword of His mouth` to His enemies.
