Can we become an angel after death?

Not after death, but those that are saved believers that have been found abiding in Him and His words as His disciples by His grace & by His help, will be resurrected as those alive will be changed to be akin to angels when the Bridegroom comes to receive the ready bride at the pre tribulational rapture event.

Luke 20:34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: 35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: 36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

we are to be like Jesus and he is NOT an angel we are to be like Jesus and HE is above angels. phillip 3:21

I agree about those that are worthy to obtain that firstfruit of the resurrection will be like the Son, but I believe Jesus's reference to the angels was that those of that resurrection would die no more, and not just that they do not marry, and thus in that respect to never dying any more as equal unto the angels because they can never die.

As for what we shall be in being like the Son, whatever it will be, it will be glorious as the elect shall sing praises to Him for the works of His hands will be known by them as well as to be seen by others whom will give God the glory in Jesus's name also.

Just to be clear, I do not believe Jesus was an angel nor will we become angels ourselves.  It may be akin to angels, but not really angels, but better than angels

This is what you first stated Hobbes....so, you know, that would be why I really had a different impression of what you now seem to say

I won't discuss pre-Trib with you here though even though you did introduce that subject

I think we will have a spiritual ( translucent ) body.

we are lower (on earth) than angels we will be above angels

we will be male and female as we are now.

no need to procreate

no need of sex organs

no spaghetti, beef stew, cornbread, or apple pie

no need of bathrooms

what ever our food is it will not have waste products as earthly food does

I could be wrong but I see this for now

Was Jesus translucent upon His resurrection? Didn't he eat honeycomb and fish? Cook breakfast? Walk to Emmaus? Break bread and drink wine? Walk through walls? Wasn't He still a man? Didn't He have gaping scars in His body that one could actually plunge one's hand into?

We will be like Him, physically.

1 John 3:2

Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is.

Understandably.  I believe every believer needs to clarify their meaning every now and then.  Even Paul did when clarifying that tongues were of other men's lips to speak unto the people in case readers misunderstood his words about praying in tongues when he meant if anyone speak in tongue, pray that someone else may interpret that tongue, thus signifying tongues is not used for praying.

The reference to pre trib was when that first inheritance that would be akin to angels would take place and not after death.  I did not mean to go into detail but it was to defer from the second inheritance which is being kings & priests in reigning with Christ.

first I am not a scholar, I make mistakes and have a bad memory. I try to read the bible and learn what it says I do not have time to read every book I can get my hands on. Im sure there are things I do not know, If God punishes me for that I'll take the punishment. I do not think im am right and am not pushing my thoughts on anyone. In the post you quoted it says " I think"

Angels are capable of taking on human form. Jesus is human.

I believe Jesus was not human and took on the human to save mankind and AFTER all humanly work was done he went back to his original foem that was not human. I could be wrong and show me if I am wrong I will listen and read your side of the issue and see if I change my mind.

Jesus took on a glorified or spiritual body after his resurrection.  We will have a new body like His.  But he still ate fish and broke bread with the disciples.

I think of Him appearing as He does in Rev. 1.

But it the beginning, prior to creation, He existed as the WORD.  He spoke the worlds into existence.  He called Himself I AM.  As such He was Spirit but took on the appearance of an angel, such as the commander and chief of the Lord's armies or the Angel of the Lord; but since angel means messenger I am not sure about His appearance.  Normally no wings are spoken of when pertaining to angels, but only with cherubim and seraphim;  the other winged creatures that may have been female were evil.

well, technically they were carrying evil......   I don't think it says the two winged women were evil, and they did keep the lid on it so she wouldn't get out......

Just had a thought.  Could it be the woman that rides the beast in Revelation?   Please tell me that it is not....

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
