What makes anyone think that God does not see a disabled person, or a person born with a birth defect, or a mental handicap as beautiful as anyone else?

It's us who do not see.

God created only one person from the beginning, Adam.  Eve was taken from Adams side.  After He created those two, it was up to the humans to reproduce.  We are from the genes of our parents, not from Gods hands, as in Adam and Eve.

Many blame God for birth defects.  They even blame God for many diseases.  Man lives in a fallen world.  Sin is what brings about pain and suffering, not God.  Saying that, He does take what seems to be ugly, undesirable and unwanted and uses them for His will, as long as the person is willing.   I have seen more love from a mentally handicapped person than I have from many "normal" humans.  I have also seen people with an undesirable disability love God more than I could ever imagine.  Seeing things like this makes me wonder who is the handicapped, them or us?

One light< I understand what you are saying and somewhat agree, but there was a Blind person in scripture, that according to Jesus would be an exception to your theory of sin and disabilities and of how God works.

John 9:1-5

9 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.

2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

KJV

not trying to blame God for anything here. just saying that many will say that God works this way, or God don't work that way, when in truth we can't know His ways, But must believe Him, no matter which way anyone is born : all things work to the good for those that love God and are called according to His purpose (Paraphrased)Roman 8:28

There is always something that God does that is out of the normal.  How many people have we heard going to the third heaven, hearing things that should not be repeated?  How many times do we read about people being taken by God and not see death?  Both have scripture pointing otherwise, yet it happened.

God is responsible for the way you look. Sometimes it may be called birth defects,(conjoined twins, two colored eyes, etc,). But its how God planned for us to be.

No He isn't actually.  God created a world that He called 'good.'   God did not create birth defects.  God created perfection.

It is beyond me how anyone can conclude that God creates birth defects.

This has nothing to do with whether or not each of us is loved by God.  God hates sin, yet He still loves each of us.

Let's not confuse the issue of whether or not God loves people with birth defects.  I never said He didn't...I am saying He does not create birth defects.

People will ask did God create evil because they believe that is what the Bible states...but God did not create evil either any more then He creates people

with serious illness or cancer or digestive upset.

Some people believe it is God's will a child gets hit by a car...is that really God's will?  That is like saying God creates the circumstance for the child to be hit.

That sounds more like God planning evil...this world is sinful...nasty and evil things happen in this world.  God is about redemption...He redeems us where we are...

in our sickness, disease, impossible circumstances and so on.

At any rate, even though it is sometimes hard to keep it in mind, this world is temporal...God exists in eternity which is where believers expect to dwell after

this life and in that place, there will be no birth defects or any other sorrowful thing.  I do not have scripture to back this up, so what I am now going to say

is my own conjecture, but perhaps we will see ourselves created in the perfection God always meant for us to have.  That is, we will be as His creation, not as

sin has crippled us...some are crippled physically, some mentally, but we also have emotionally...

I do not believe scripture tells us God creates broken people...sin has done that and people are the ones who sinned

Blessings Everyone....

Firstly,Welcome to Worthy Vanessa.....it is very nice to meet you & I am glad you are here.......I believe that in order to be reconciled back to someone you had to have been a part of  or had  a harmonious co-existence in the first place,,,I know when we talk about being reconciled back to our Heavenly Father by our faith in Jesus we are given the Grace of God,,,,we are no longer separated from Him by our sin,it is the sealed redemption of our spirit but I also believe it is far deeper than that & I have often compared this with an analogy that goes something like this........

As an artist I create things & transfer them on to a canvas,,,,in my mind I see that canvas before I even have it in front of me & it is the place I am going to put my creation,,,,,,in my mind my creation exists,it is almost a part of me & I know them/it  before they are even formed,,,,,,,,because I am their creator, they are mine ......I am only human but I make them perfectly & I place them in a perfect place,& when I am finished,it looks good,it is perfect & I am happy..............then someone comes along & steals my painting, they left it sit in a damp garage & it gets all moldy  but my son finds my painting at an auction & he buys it back for me

Okay, that is my analogy of knowing us before we were formed in the womb,,,,now,my creation is perfect because it is in my minds eye but the perfect canvas I put it on gets spoiled because someone spills something on it,or maybe it was left out in the weather & it got ruined,,,,,,,I didn't do it,but I allowed it to sit out in the weather......but it is still beautiful to me & if I want to I can get out some paint & make it perfect again......

I do not know if anyone is following what I am saying but I believe God does not make anything that is not perfect but we live in a sick, dying & corruptable world & there are many things that we (the human race )have done to cause physical & mental defects in humans,,,,,,,birth defects etc,,,,,like Nick V,God did not make him that way but for whatever His reason ,He allowed him to be born that way,,,,,,,in Gods Mind & in His Eyes Nick is still perfect & obviously ,because of his defects ,he gives God all the Glory & through this man with no arms & no legs,,,,,Gods Holy Spirit convicts many hearts that come to the foot of the cross

God made DNA,He made our genes,He made our chromosomes & He made us to pass on hereditary traits..........He will have Mercy on who He will have Mercy on and everything that was made was made through Him.......because we are a part of Him,we in Him & He in us..................we were made in His likeness.................God does not make handicapped people but He does allow people to be born handicapped.......and He is true to His Word that He does work all things for the good of those that love Him and ultimately,to give Him Glory!    just my little 2 cents,Praise the Lord! Our Magnificent Creator!

This was already posted, but since it was overlooked by some, I will post it again.

And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?  Exodus 4:11

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
