I think we all can agree that things will get much worse before Jesus returns.  With the rejection of the true God in the world, evil popping up everywhere, sin abounding and hearts becoming cold, ISIS is just one factor where the enemy is attacking.

There is a difference between taking up arms to defend the innocent and prayer to God to destroy some one.

So I agree with you that ISIS needs to be eliminated!! It's to be done with the sword and not with Prayer.

It seems to me that there are many references in the Bible about God giving instructions to Joshua, Hezakiah and others as to how to fight battles. They acknowledged God as their Commander in Chief and they found that sometimes He even fought their battles for them when they depended on Him. Perhaps our generals/president should do the same and pray for strategy before they engage the enemy with weapons. I would feel much better if I knew that they had prayed and had received God's wisdom before they had enganged any enemy at all.. While I don't doubt the evil of ISIL, we also get a lot of slanted news about any subject so I tend to distrust the propaganda we get from the major news agencies. (I do trust the info from George.)

I am of the view there are times when you must pray against your enemies that God will destroy them from the face of the earth or get them sick etc

I don't think one should pray that way. I think God will take care of whatever needs to be taken care of in a right and just way when it comes to our enemies. I do at times have told God how mad and upset I am at someone who has wrong me. I think it is ok to tell God how you feel. But I think it is best to leave whatever happens to our enemies up to God. Jesus said Lord forgive them for they know not what they do. When he was dieing on the cross for our sins.

It appears that the antichrist will succeed at destroying the saints

its what the prophetic word of God teaches, I would say in defense God's word also teaches many things that would help a believer to avoid falling into his hands that's also a reality
