Every day it becomes more and more apparent just how awful life is. Sometimes I wish I'd been born fifty years ago.

Don't worry, I'm not depressed or anything but each day our future looks more and more grim. Let's hope that God's prophecies have been planned for sooner rather than later.

Hi Oakwood,

Ah, the `60`s ay. Yes well remember those carefree days. We were young then & life was ahead of us, but all the flowering evil of now was busy going on then. And I do understand what you are saying but didn`t you expect it? Isn`t this part of evil coming to a head? As things get worse & worse it is a great time for us to help people, & for them to open up for their trust in man`s system will be shaken.

It`s a wonderful time really when we see what Christ is doing in His Body - showing man`s religious institutions as failing, & what He is doing in the world to bring man to his knees.

A big subject there, Oak, Marilyn.

there may be post world Christianity

But there will never be a world without Christianity

Give me a little artistic license for my choice of title. The Western World which was once governed upon the moral roots of Judeo-Christian principles has almost lapsed into apostasy.

Oops, I was born fifty years ago. What I mean is, I wished I been born fifty years before I was born - if you see what I mean.

You mean 100 yrs ago. Actually that was during WWI, pre the great depression..personally I like the time I was born but can't wait for the "catching way" rapture. We are living on the edge of a great event....it 's the in between that is so uncertain.

Hi,

I just joined this week, so I'm stepping into the conversation rather late. (Hmm...let me just smudge off the dust and cobwebs.) I was wondering, do you perhaps feel this "post-Christian world" element a bit more where you are? Of course, the world over is degenerating, I don't mean that any particular country is holding it together more. Still, America is a young whipper-snapper in comparison to the other side of the Atlantic, so we might be a step behind. Several years ago, I attended a study on "life in a post-modern world" and it showed that church numbers had greatly declined in England and Europe (notice I didn't lump you in with them--ha!) and their cultures (in general) had moved farther in the direction of being "beyond religion and other primitive myths." There are certainly many Americans who share this view, but most of the time, one can talk about one's beliefs without getting laughed out of the room. Outside of scientific fields (where the attack on one's intelligence would be severe) and entertainment fields, people are still basically sympathetic to a belief in God even if they don't share it. What is it like in the UK? P.S. I hope I didn't offend and forgive me if I was being a "nosy American." ;)

I can identify.  But, even if you had been born fifty years ago, you'd probably still be alive today to see this same stuff going on!  As difficult as these days are to endure, the silver lining is that we know these things not only must come to pass, but that they are signs of going Home soon!  I'm convinced we're in the final moments of the last days and that we are that last generation who will be alive at the time of the rapture.

I know the spirit in which you made this comment, but I used to take it even further.  I used to claim I was "born at the wrong time."  My lifestyle and personality are more suited to times like the 50's, the Victorian era, pioneer times, etc.,  I longed for those times so much that I would watch a lot of TV shows and movies from those eras.  Then the Holy Spirit got hold of me and convicted me.  None of those times were "innocent" or much "kinder."  Sure, there was an outward pretense of those things, but it was a lie.  Those times all had more than their fair share of sin and debauchery.  The problem is, I had romanticized those time periods in my mind and made them out to be something they weren't.  I've never been so grateful to have a fantasy world come crashing down!  What a trap!  What a deception!  That's one of the reasons I got rid of my TV altogether many years ago.  Not only did I get sick and tired of having sex, violence, vulgar language and every manner of sin shoved down my throat daily (and paying for the privilege), but I was angry at all the hidden traps and deception from it, too.

Not to mention that when I used to say "I was born at the wrong time," that it was insulting God, inferring that He made a mistake with me.

If you focus on the condition of the world, you can become despaired with life as it seems to be.  Though the world is falling deeper and deeper into sin, I still see His creation as beautiful and exciting and my future full of hope.  I guess it depends on what you look at to compare with.  I am grateful for each and every day, thanking God for the beauty He allows me to see in it.

Every day is a Blessing from the time we wake up until we go to bed.

Look around you and count the many Blessing you see,

but at times people don't look in the right way, they allow the bad things to haze blur their vision.

It's a bit like opening a fridge and saying, "Woe is me, I have nothing in there to make a meal."

Then you dig deeper inside and pull out some small things hidden away.

Throw them together, add a bit of this and that, put them on a plate and "Voila!" you have a wonderful meal.

Php 4:19  But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
