It's easy for people to keep missing this point, over and over  and over again. It's easy for people (even Christians):( to think of natives as second class citizens, lump them all together, and figure they don't have rights to protest for clean water and their ancient burial grounds.

If it was white farmers who were having the exact same problem right now, all of America would be behind them supporting them.

No one is supporting the farmers in iowa who are protesting. Im assuming they are white. Racial comparison is flawed.

You call me close minded? Have you looked in the mirror?

BOTH of these quotes talk about water, and then you say it's not about water issues.   I can't help you Ayin Jade.  You refuse to watch the videos and then post quotes that mention water and say water isn't an issue.   To me, you are a lost cause on this issue.

They mention the primary reason as being cultural, heritage, sacred land. Then an incidental mention of water. You asked for quotes in which it was primarily about their land, and I gave them.

I have been involved in native rights for decades. You appear to have jumped on the social justice bandwagon without knowing the facts, only the biased emotional of radical native activists. Im familiar with their tactics.

This is their "legal claim", not water rights, but cultural claim.

Quote

As part of the ongoing trial, the legal team for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe submitted documents to the court last Friday that certified one of their main claims in the case: that the pipeline will pass through and likely destroy Native burial sites and sacred places.

The only reason they are claiming the water thing, and its a side issue, is because of the clean water act. That gives them a bit more legal standing since the land is not reservation land.

Now, why are you not getting this upset at the iowa farmers who lost their land via eminent domain for this pipeline? Why are you not equally supporting them and demanding we do the same? Since you brought race into the issue in an earlier post, is it because they are white and dont fall under your sense of justice?

I also wonder why the natives think they should be treated any different from anyone else on this earth?

Not all natives think that way. Just the militant ones, and the sioux are among the most militant of the tribes. My husband who is 100% native american born and raised on the rez thinks they should just get over the past and move on. He managed, and his family, to rise above all the poverty and problems. Because they did not focus on the past.

Artsy I know you think Im racist because Im not supporting your view, but Im not. I have seen first hand other native right issues, like the hopi navajo land dispute. I lived on a reservation for 2 yrs and saw for myself the problems they face. I have been welcomed in native homes and seen (by invitation) places and ceremonies that are closed to outsiders. I met militant native activists. I know their tactics. This is just more of the same.

Hanging on to treaties and the hurt from them being broken is not doing anyone any good.  The native americans are not being deprived of their rights to their traditions.  Why are there separate classes of United States citizens?

Why are there "separate classes of United States citizens"? Because the U.S Government entered into legal treaties with many Native American tribes, treaties provided for under the Constitution and binding under international law. Treaties which guaranteed the tribes certain lands and rights and separate-nation status, but which provisions have been broken again and again with impunity by the the U.S. Government, state governments, corporations and citizens. Which acts of international law-breaking the state and federal courts have ignored time after time. This is lawlessness on the part of the United States government, its courts, and on down the line.

I venture that you perhaps may object to the lawlessness of the Obama administration in many instances; but lawlessness is lawlessness, upon whomever it is inflicted, and lawlessness God sees and will always call to judgment in his own time. Anyone who advocates the denial of Native Americans the rights and privileges promised them in lawful treaties are likewise promoting lawlessness, and will likewise be judged accordingly.

2 Sam. 21:1 Now there was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year; and David inquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, “It is because of Saul and his bloodthirsty house, because he killed the Gibeonites.”

The Israelites had entered into an ill-advised but still lawful and binding treaty with the Gibeonites during the conquest of Canaan led by Joshua. (Joshua 9) Many generations later, King Saul decided to abrogate that treaty, and God held Israel to account for it. Don't think for a minute that this principle God will not still apply.

I'm not sure why you stressed this line by underlining it, unless you view someone is promoting the denial of rights here.  I've supported their right to seek justice in the court system versus some of the protesters are acting in a lawless state when they attack and threaten people legally doing their job.  In some instances they are being portrayed as victims of violence when that may not be the entire truth, some facts are being left out.

I'll further state that I do support all treaties being followed, and I am aware they are not.  I am also aware of how debilitating it is for someone to view themself as a victim all their life.  We are all victims of injustice as some point,

Furthermore, living in a continual mindset of being a victim keeps one from breaking out of that.

Injustice?

What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Indeed, he who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, freely give us all things?

Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is the one who will condemn? Christ is the one who died (and more than that, he was raised), who is at the right hand of God, and who also is interceding for us.

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will trouble, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we encounter death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us!

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:31-39 (NET Bible)

Even Jesus

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ”

Then they remembered his words. Luke 24:1-8 (New International Version)

And His Followers Suffered

Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 2 Timothy 3:12 (New Living Translation)

And Yet I Can Hear An Amazing Song

speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing, and singing praises in your heart to the Lord; Ephesians 5:19 (New Heart English Bible)

A Love Song Echoing From Eternity To Eternity

Be Blessed Beloved Of The KING

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them. Numbers 6:24-27 (King James Bible)

~

All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal. Psalms 119:160 (New International Version)

The Bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable.

Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you.

It is the traveler’s map, the pilgrim’s staff, the pilot’s compass, the soldier’s sword and the Christian’s charter. Here too, Heaven is opened and the gates of Hell disclosed.

Christ is its grand subject, our good its design, and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently and prayerfully.  It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure.

It is given you in life, will be opened at the judgment, and be remembered forever. It involves the highest responsibility, rewards the greatest labor, and will condemn all who trifle with its sacred contents.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
