This is a good exhortation.  The events of these last days will bring the body of Christ to maturity, to the unity of the faith.  They will reveal who is a doer of the word and who is a hearer only.  The doers will have discernment, while those who only hear will be deceived.  Each of us is individually responsible to live according to the measure of faith given us, and to grow in faith.

Concerning His return, Jesus first said to take heed that no one deceives you.  He warned of being misled by those who claim His name:

• For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.  Matthew 24:5

This is not a reference to false messiahs because false messiahs would not come in Jesus' name.  They would come in their own name.  This is a reference to being misled by those who come in Jesus name and even profess that He is the Christ.  Paul issues a similar warning:

• For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.  2 Timothy 4:3-4

Walk in the Spirit.  Love God supremely and your neighbor as yourself.

And we get yet another sign....

We got the U.S. solar eclipse just before the start of Elul 1 on the Hebrew calendar, which is the start of the season of Teshuvah or season of repentance and return.  Rosh Hashanah is the 1st of Tishri, the following month.  Now, smack dead in the middle of Elul, on the 15th of Elul (September 6th), we get two X class solar flares that disrupted some navigation and communications.

And the U.S got hit with one major hurricane between the 1st and 15th of Elul, and is getting ready to get hit with another between the 15th and 30th of Elul.

The pile up of signs that have come at us for the last few years can't be coincidence:

4 Blood moons, 2 years, all occurring on Passover and Feast of Tabernacles of both 2014 and 2015.

Star of Bethlehem event, June 30th 2015, which was the middle point between Passover and Tabernacles of that year.  Two years ago.  The wise men who brought gifts to Yeshua had seen the star two years previous to their arrival. That is why Herod had all boys in Bethlehem, 2 years and younger, slaughtered.

2017, 120 years after the first Zionist Congress meeting (1897) to establish a homeland for the Jews. In Noah's day, God gave 120 years before sending the flood.  Yeshua said that as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be at the time of the  coming of the Son.  

2017, 100 years after the Balfour Declaration (1917) allowing Jews to immigrate to the land of Israel.

2017, 70 years after the UN 181 partitions the land for Israel (1947). 1948 Israel officially declared a independent nation fulfilling Ezekiel and Leviticus. They had not been an independent nation since roughly 607 BC.  

2017, 50 years after Israel recaptures all of Jerusalem (1967) 

2017, a Jubilee year... last two... 1917 and 1967. See above.

2017, the September 23rd event of the Revelation 12 sign which has not happened since at least 3950 BC to some who have studied it, and some say never before. And this falls at the end of Rosh Hashanah / Feast of Trumpets.

One can blow these things off as coincidence, but I don't believe in coincidences.   What you do with all that is between you and God. Something is bound to happen soon.  Since it is the season of Teshuvah (repentance and return), it might be wise to make sure one's self is in solid relationship with the Lord.  

Just beware that one doesn't fall into this camp....

2 Peter 3:3-4 (NKJV) knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”

And the slogan for the UN International Peace Day this year?  "Peace and Safety".  And that day falls on the start of Rosh Hashanah / Feast of Trumpets, Sept 21st.

Labor Pangs

He will shout His battle cry and will triumph over His enemies. Matthew 24:3-8 Lord; tell us the signs of the end of this age. Jesus replied: Take care that no-one misleads you, for many false Messiahs and teachers will come and many will be fooled by them. The time is coming when you will hear of wars and rumours of wars, for there will be an increase of wars, earthquakes, diseases and famines. All these things are the birth pangs of the new age.   Jeremiah 15:2

 

As Jesus prophesied, there will be wars, earthquakes, diseases and famines at the end of this age. He likened these things to ‘birth pangs’.  When we consider normal childbirth, the labor pangs are separated by periods of relative calm. So if there have been times when clusters of those four disasters have occurred, we can ascertain that time must be very short for this age. Here are the facts:

1/ In 1914-19, World War 1 occurred. There were 7 earthquakes of over 8 magnitude. Smallpox and typhus killed millions, but Spanish flu killed at least 50 million in 1918/19. There were terrible famines in Europe and Russia.

2/  During 1939-45 there was World War 2 and 8 earthquakes of over 8 magnitude. Typhus again killed millions, in North Africa, in Iran and Europe. Anne Frank died of typhus.  A terrible famine in China killed at least 45 million.

3/ The data suggests that the third ‘birth pang’, commenced in Nov. 11, 2001. Wars and rumours of wars are rife.  It is considered that the global war on terrorism is a world war. There have been 14 earthquakes over 8 and two over 9 magnitude. Diseases such as cancer and AIDs are of epidemic proportions. Crop failures due to unusual weather and wars result in famines in Asia, Russia and Africa.

4/ The fourth and final ‘birth pang’, will be the Great Tribulation, so vividly described in Revelation, but ending with the Return of Jesus and the birth of the Millennial era.

 

But the last, most shocking and devastating event of this third birth pang,  our current situation, will be the great Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath.  This will be the many prophesied ‘fire from heaven’ that describes a huge Coronal Mass Ejection sunstrike, will affect the whole world, killing probably billions.  This will enable two things; the establishment of a One World Government and the re-settling of the Lord’s people into all of the holy Land.  The time gap of the Seventh Seal, Revelation 8:1, [1/2 hour in Heaven = 20 years on earth] from this CME until the Tribulation is prophesied as a time of peace and prosperity. And things get even more bizarre.  The Hurricane Harvey event, one first responder was infected by a flesh eating virus and ended up in intensive care at Houston Methodist hospital.  Sepsis had already started setting in one day after he was infected.

On top of what I posted previously, then we got the Mexico earthquake.  Discounting Central America and Alaska, the largest quake in N. America since the New Madrid earthquake of 1812.   Signs, Signs, everywhere the signs.

Yes, there are a great many signs in the earth and cosmos. This is expected and fulfills the words of Jesus. But every one of the wolves preying on the sheep forget the full content of the words of our Lord;

Matt 24

6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.

For many shall come in the name of Jesus saying the time draws near. That's the wolves. Jesus says do not follow them. So when the false prophets say things like; this sign means we are close, or that sign means the rapture is coming, or that this or that Jewish feast or Holiday, along with some earthquake or flood, is the sign of the Messiah's coming at some date in some month; WE ARE NOT TO BELIEVE THEM! Three of the men who walked with Jesus say the same thing; Anyone saying terrestrial or cosmic signs, wars, and or calamities signals the Lord's coming is a wolf preying on the weak and impressionable among us.

We are told when the end and the coming of Jesus is near.

15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

This is what we are to be watching for. Not some made up, fear based, illogical timeline that contradicts the words of our Lord. If Jesus said, " And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." We are to look at what precedes this redemption as recorded by Luke:

Jerusalem compassed with armies.

Judea flees to the mountains.

Great distress in Israel. 

Wrath upon Jews.

Jews fall by the edge of the sword.  

Jews led away captive into all nations. 

Jerusalem overrun by Gentiles.

Signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars. This is spelled out in Rev 8:12 and is not planetary or stellar alignments.

Distress of nations.

Sea and the waves roaring.

Men's hearts failing them for fear. 

All this must happen in conjunction in order for the time to be near and it's much more dire than any of the events we see today, even as terrible as these events are, it will be worse. Far worse.

The doomsayers slink out from under their rocks every time there's a cosmic rarity. It's been happening for thousands of years and it's happening today, and earth as we know it marches on. It will be no different come Sept 24, 2017. We will all get up the next morning, go to church, have lunch, watch football, take a nap and get ready for work on Monday. It's my hope that collectively we will brand the YouTube prophets, forum prophets, pulpit prophets, and profit prophets as categorically false. Shame them, marginalize them, remove their lying words from our minds.

No 'rapture' will occur on Sept 23. The clock will continue to tick. The calendar will advance. Nothing will change.

Okay. Thinking. Signs everywhere that the birth pangs are becoming more frequent and more intense. The second coming is drawing closer. So. Question. What to do. Study the signs deeper and write books on it? Focus on every fad and fashion in the Christian last events jumble sale? Enter into intense heated debate on the fine details of prophecy so as to pinpoint with greater accuracy the time to get ready??

Friends, we know the time is near. We do not know the exact day or hour, but we have been promised that we will not be left in the dark like the people in the world?

Don't be distracted and lose focus on the cornerstone of our salvation. Yes, signs are important. But God has given them for a purpose. They aren't intended to simply give us clairvoyant understanding of the future which I see many Christians striving for. No. They are intended to compel us to a greater consecration to Jesus. It is time friends to spend more time with Him. More time in His word. Not only to search for signs and numbers to predict the time of His coming, nor to prove yourself the winner in doctrinal debating....but to prepare our characters....to get rid of the sin in our lives....to dispel the worldly lusts and selfishness from the soul. Those are the things that should have our attention so that we will not be overcome by the sophistries, false doctrines  and lies of the growing Babylonian apostasy even now taking control of those asleep and living in darkness.

Based on the extensive use of parenthesis in that post, it seemed to me like a copy and paste adventure.  Either that, or it is just your favorite grammatical character.

But those that think the Lord has no real purpose with the Jews or Jerusalem anymore, hold onto that thought.  It isn't in my pay grade to worry about those that fit into that ideology.  Folks are free to believe anything they want and fits their world view of things.  It is between them and the One who made His promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.  Not my problem.  

I find the various signs intriguing, and possibly a forewarning of major changes coming on the horizon, kinda like a two minute warning in American football.  I have been clearly in awe of the Ezekiel 4 / Leviticus 26 combination and how that relates to modern Israel and 1948.   But even with all that, I try to keep my main focus on learning more about how the Lord pitches His tent with each of us and how we are to pitch our tents with him.  I think that will have more to do with our appointment with future events than the signs do.

Problem is sometimes on here, people who are the most unsure, squeal about their pet beliefs in the hopes that if enough say, 'oh yeah Sis' or 'right on Bro' that somehow God (Who is running a vote tally) will allow the winners get to change His mind about it all.

Not only to search for signs and numbers to predict the time of His coming, nor to prove yourself the winner in doctrinal debating....but to prepare our characters....to get rid of the sin in our lives....to dispel the worldly lusts and selfishness from the soul. Those are the things that should have our attention so that we will not be overcome by the sophistries, false doctrines  and lies of the growing Babylonian apostasy even now taking control of those asleep and living in darkness."
