Facebook is a highway express for coveting, there is an entire ocean of the tears of broken families that facebook directly shattered. There is nothing worse than a now married person reconnecting with a past lover through social media. Bad things arise when that happens, certain things need to stay buried.

NEVER look at what past lovers are up to, Satan only needs a narrow seam to get inside of you. Facebook and most of social media are pure evil. Throw it all away, there's a better way to connect with people that doesn't involve going through Satan's personal engine of destruction. Worst of it however is that it makes people so unhappy by constantly putting them in the position to covet, someone goes on facebook to brag and suddenly you realize you're unhappy without the thing they now have. Somebody brags and you feel like a failure, someone brags and suddenly you feel like your partner is failure. It is very true when Jesus said that it's what comes out of a person's mouth that makes them unclean, and pride is the worst sin of them all. Facebook gives these people a podium, in that you can see why the Creature delights in social media.

Relevant excerpt from a book I have:

"here is one rule of conversation which should be thoroughly im
pressed on the mind, which is to remember there are two persons of
whom you should never suffer yourself to speak —one is yourself, and
the other your enemy. The reason is evident : you run into two dangers
—egotism and injustice."

I would never have stumbled upon Worthy had it not been for Facebook. I dont use it a lot but it is useful to me in many ways. My church live streams all its services on facebook, so if I cant go physically I can still hear the sermon. The debates on there are bad, but honestly, it's no worse than here at times. Its a tool to be used. Any tool is dangerous if it gets abused.

Why does the thread title ask "how many  facebook friends do you have?" Is that important? How? Why?

Good grief.  Families are shattered by people without Facebook every day of the week.  Facebook does not shatter families, the people making bad choices shatter families and they don't need Facebook to do so.

The second paragraph is so off-base that I don't even know how to approach dealing with it.  Facebook is not evil, in and of itself.  It can be used for bad, or for good, or completely indifferent.  As I already pointed out, if you feel that strongly about Facebook being bad you shouldn't even be on the Internet at all.  People can stay friends with ex-partners and not want to get back together with them.  As long as you have the correct mindset, it does not cause a problem to anyone at all.  What you are attempting to do is blame a communication medium for the bad choices of individuals.

Facebook facilitates sin by connecting people who should not be connected, your wife goes on Facebook, see's that Meghan's husband has bought a new house, and then she wonders why you haven't been able to keep up with Meghan's husband, Facebook takes humanities covetous nature and amplifies it by connecting you with people you should not be connecting with, if you want to constantly tempt yourself with that, go right ahead, it is your choice to enter evil's domain, but don't be surprised when you succumb to it after many daily acts of entering that swamp of filth. Satan only needs the smallest spiritual chink in your armor to enter, how big will that chink become after you've made his realm a habit?

Yes families were broken before Facebook, but Facebook has amplified it, and the Creature rejoices because it knows that making humans covet is how you bring about their discontent, that's why he's trying to destroy borders, the more he connects the world the more he makes humans connect, the more he solidifies his hold through their spiritual malaise. Having the internet and seeing what other people are up two are different things, when you constantly keep yourself informed of what others are up to -- people you would otherwise not know -- you are tempting yourself with covetousness. Doing daily acts of this will will take its toll on your spirit, but once again, if you want to tempt fate, I warn you not to, but it's your choice.

We don't tempt our eyes with unclean things and Facebook is just as bad as any website that is full of pornography, if pride is in fact the worst sin of them all -- AND IT IS -- then Facebook is much more filthy than even the most degenerate pornography that's out there. We all know what people use Facebook for, it's where they go to boast, to be prideful, to find secret lovers, to unbury the past and an entire panoply of filthy things.

A swamp of filth is precisely what it is.

NO ONE IS HOLDING A GUN TO THEIR HEAD AND FORCING THEM TO LUST, COVET AND BE PRIDEFUL.

You don't see things as they are, Satan most certainly is pointing a spiritual gun to their heads, you don't think that he stalks the earth looking for people to tempt? Satan can't force anyone, but what he can do, is tempt them with lust, covetousness and pride.

Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. “All this I will give You, he said, “if You will fall down and worship me.”

"Away from me, Satan!” Jesus declared. “For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.’”…

Do you ever ponder why these companies are created and owned by Godless progressives?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
