The free market should determine wages.  There should be no minimum wage, but we do need to protect American workers from unfair trade practices.  The government has a role in that.

We learn patience from hardships. Are we praying daily. Then keep looking. Jesus said ill never leave you or forsake you. Trust Him. Faith is time tested. Who will stay true through the hardest of times. Never give up. Jesus knows your name and he is a provider. Pray for His strength everyday.

Never expect technology to work 100% of the time as it is as imperfect as the humans who made it. Think how many times you hit 0 but the auto attendant will not give you a human to speak to. So you wait for 2-3 minutes listening to prompts that are only voice accessible and hate the fact you press other buttons, and then it does not understand you. I am the time who raises my blood pressure on my hearts because I refuse to do anything but hit 0 or speak to a human right away.

So with tech not always understanding what you say, will also be a shame if the system crashes during your order. Or, just even a bug or blip to get your order wrong.

No thanks. If no human is taking my order, I leave. Same reason i do not shop at Walmarts. They remove cashiers.

when I started using computers or wifi to place my orders at McDonalds and Sonic I stopped getting the wrong food....      so I'm going to go along with my own experiences.

Some areas have raised it, and it's not going well. It makes sense that if wages go up, so does cost of living. So when wages go up, so will rent.

Also, just think about the information we read about the people who serve in our government. The people who get $300 haircuts, but "care for the average person." The fact of the matter is that most (I dare say all) could care less. They are there for a job with the perks. They make decisions that will make them popular with certain people. The end.

Not going to disagree with you there about the workers. Only caring for themselves with their two houses, three cars, and a boat (even if they live in Kansas with no oceans). And, $300 haircuts with that. And to think, I just buzz my head myself to save $20.

How can the government think that working American citizens and residents with families can afford to live off of minimum wage while for decades this country's jobs are being move and outsourced and given to illegals (yes they are I witnessed it for years first hand)? What ever happened to the American dream?

Personally, I would like to own a home with plenty of space and land in a quiet area, but I can never afford to and there is no quiet places around where you can see the stars at night without city light affecting the view. So that not going to happen. Especially if my next job is at McDonald's (again) because no one else is hiring in the tech field.

Your thoughts on how the government sees paying Americans low wages?

This isn't meant to be harsh, but the facts.

We're blessed to live in a free country where education, sacrifice, capitalism, entrepreneurship, hard work, personal ambition and risk makes success. Poor people and governments do not provide jobs, growth or opportunities; and what business is it for the government to get involved with salaries and wages? The government does not produce one bushel of wheat or one barrel of oil; it derives its income from taxing of the productive, borrowing from the productive or printing its money. It's then distributed to the politicians choice of beneficiaries whom did not work for it nor earn it. The sole purpose of our Federal government, is to protect our nation from foreign threat; to uphold our Constitution, and to produce a friendly environment for opportunity and growth.

Your salary and wage is commensurable with your skills, knowledge, ability, production and what you bring to the table for the benefit of your employer. Business and jobs do not exist out of the kind hearts of people wanting to employ someone; they exist to make a predetermined profit margin.

It's common sense in a free market society, that if you triple the minimum wage [again, the government has no business in establishing a minimum living wage], the price of that Big Mac will have to triple to maintain that profit margin or go bankrupt. So, what benefit is derived for people to have their wages tripled and the product or service they need or want also tripled [more inflation making our fiat currency worth less].

Our jobs have left America because we think to highly of ourselves, our labor and talents are worth more than they are worth, we have an entitlement mentality of "use owes me". Notice the labor unions drove jobs out of America with strikes for higher pay, better and more benefits, move vacation and off time. Look at what the Federal Government and NEA unions have done to the public school system [again of which our government has no business in]. The government driving out jobs by a mountain of ridiculous safety regulations, alphabet soup organizations, standards, adherence , paper work, red tape, etc. [a hostile environment for employment and efficiency]. In a free society, the markets, products, competition and wages / salaries will automatically balance and stabilize with supply and demand. Outside forces of this system produces inflation, stagnation, socialism and discourages entrepreneurship, production, ambition, incentive and personal drive.

Secular speaking, to get ahead in our blessed system in America, it's common sense; you look at the career fields you're interested in and prepare for it. You ask if this career path is sustainable, a dead end, or is it flourishing, is there personal growth potential and has a foreseeable future. You don't get a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy to enter the electronics field. In a free society nothing is handed to you; it takes work, sacrifice, ambition, a desire to succeed, planning and an end goal. Everyone in this great nation [bar none] has the opportunity and freedom to rise from poverty and make something of themselves if they so choose.

@The Survivor  Dear brother, ...this may sound hard to you, but it's not meant that way, ...it's coming from my own personal experience.

You say you have lost everything you have prayed not to loose...,

Could it be because you are in your Kadesh Barnea experience, ...is it because Father has told you to do something and you have not obeyed and you are wandering in the desert until you step out in faith, cross over Kadesh Barnea and do what He has told you to do?

Or could it be your Jabbok  River experience and you are "wrestling" with God in your own strength and Father is waiting for you to give up, ...and then He will change your name, ...and names in the Bible are significant to a persons character.

Or could it be your "forbidden to go to Asia" experience, and like Paul, Father knows their are people elsewhere that He wants you to go to and "minister" to them?

Like I said, ...I have gone through all of these "testing" and each one was there in my life to "chip away" at the old man in the metamorphosis process of conforming me into the image of my Jesus.

Brother, there are brothers that have replied to you that I know from what they say shows  they are "advanced" in the process of being conformed into the image of Jesus, ...the more the metamorphosis is completed the less the things of this world seem important, ...that doesn't mean we forget about them, ...but rather, ...it's we know and have learned from experience that Father knows what we need and He provides them for us without us having to kick, scrape and struggle for them.

We say we learn from experience, ...but it's much better to learn from someone else's experience, ...most of us are advanced in years, ...so may I humbly suggest you learn these lessons while you are still relatively young and watch what Father will do with you, ...now we can only "wish" we had learned when we were younger to serve our Lord, ...and be "more" pleasing in His sight!

Lord bless

I agree with you. McDonalds is one of the worst fast food restaurants for messing up your order. When I drive up to the take out window I do not leave the window until I have checked out my order to make sure everything is correct.

Hi, Also  it may be that the industry is suffering a lack of existing store growth. Seems the bigger outfits have been selling off their franchises in order to sustain bottom line revenue. It seems to  me not to be a great place t advance up the corporate ladder, if the corporation is selling it's stores. For there will be fewer managers needed, and far mor eindependently run franchises where the local owner is the manager.

https://brandongaille.com/19-shocking-fast-food-sales-statistics/

"To counter weak sales, Wendy’s sold off 400 company-owned units in 2013 to franchisees.

Other companies have done the same: Yum! Brands sold off more than 680 company-owned restaurants in 2012-2013. McDonald’s has gotten rid of over 200 locations.

Burger King owns less than 1% of its total locations in the United States.

Last year, McDonald’s got about two-thirds of its revenue outside the US. 50% of Yum! Brands sales comes from China.

Despite trying to add healthy options to the menu, salads and similar items account for as little as 2% of total sales in the industry.

In 2012 those with annual household incomes of less than $70,000 spent an average $1,718 a year on food away from home.

Encouraging repetitive customers also helps. 6% of the American population will eat at a fast food restaurant 7x per week or more."

The poor including the working poor are with us, and many of us are that poor. It is not just the other guy.  The problem is real  it is individual, and government cannot solve it! One either goes forward gaining in income or one falls back and into eventual poverty, for anyone on a fixed income knows it doesn't buy this year what it bought lat year. That is just the way  it is.

So how does the local body of Christ Jesus  bring some help one to another becomes a hard question to ask and especially hard to  try to respond to or answer. Government is not a viable answer.

What are ways Christian bodies might band together to lift all  up to sufficiency of food clothing housing and medical services? Is there any way? Might Christians start with interest in the subject and with prayer to God to become more enlightened?

Most Christians that I know are families that cannot raise $400 cash  in an emergency need. As most got financially devastated in 2007-8. Most live on next Friday's income alone. So while the stock markets roar with speculation rather than real growth in production by  companies, most of Americans anyway are not,  are not, seeing  increase in personal assets.  They are just holding their own hoping nothing more that is bad hits before Friday comes.

To prosper as a worker is simply going to cost the worker more time spent working  every day and every week and every year. The idea that 40 hours is a normal work week just isn't so. It has always been flawed thinking. It isn't working out well for many  if not almost all hourly  wage workers, yet government planners want us to think in those terms.

Got to just up and grit it out praying for the opportunity to work more each week and to find self employment  or find talent that is more valuable to employers. Start with gritting out more time in prayer.

Malls and stores are doing terrible because of Amazon and other on-line sales.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
