LOL, ladypeartree, they are deep fried chicken wings which have been coated in a vinegar based hot pepper sauce mixed with butter. The name buffalo wings, is from the location in which they originated from. Buffalo, New York. They are delicious, for sure. One can order them, mild, medium, or toasty.

So up here in Canada, the government has announced a state of emergency and many business places has chosen to encourage social distancing by means of reducing contacts.  Like our favorite Tim Hortons coffee shop is only allowing drive thurs and no instore sit around.  At the drive tru they are have a sign asking customers to pay by credit card, not enforced but asking thus far.

The government has announced proposed measures to assist people who has symptoms and stay at home to get paid ect.

I wonder though, what state of emergency really means and what measures can be taken in this mode ?.

Keep those stories rolling in about your area.

Again, this is not for fear mongering  and panic ect., but to get an idea how the world is dealing with this in their respective corner of the globe.   Keep safe and let's hear your story or situation.

I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble.

This thread is mainly about updates to people from all over to describe the situation in their part of the world or country.  It is not for fear mongering or such, but as this situation is live, we can get a general idea of how people lives are being affected and are their goods and services available to them.

I just went out to get some fruits and maybe pickup a few cans of whatever that can be last for a while on the shelve at home.   Well all the toilet paper are gone. Yesterday there were places that you can still find the expensive brands around, but they are all gone and the bleach and hand sanitizes are disappearing too.

Some grocery and vegetables I see are not restocked as yet and well I guess will have to wait till my next visit to see the updates.  Don't know if this is a panic buying and things will eventually return to near normal as people can only horde so much .   This is in my little quarter in Toronto, where the virus spread is starting to pick up pace.

Lets hear how you are doing and your shopping supplies availability.

Here in Reno I had my first experience with empty shelves today. The mayor yesterday announced the closing down of restaurants, except for carry out, drive through, and delivery. I went to Winco for my regular shopping trip and there is a line of people with empty carts 50 yards long waiting to get into the store. I went to the other Winco - 30 yards long. I go to Save-Mart and got most of what I needed, without waiting in line, but there was no sliced white bread. No sliced bread at Wal-Mart. Then I go into the 7-11 next to where I live, and there were a bunch of loaves of sliced bread. It must have just arrived.

Alright, an update from the OP .

Just came from work and stop by my usual grocery store to do my normal grocery which I do about  three times a week as I look for fresh fruits and vegetables.

What I noticed.  No TP, no bread, no oatmeal, no eggs.

What I saw restocked,  potatoes, some flour.  very little can foods.

There is lots of fruits and vegetables, and deli.

I did not make a comprehensive list of items scarce, and I did not walk through all the isles.

Our law makers announced today that there would be enough food supply and that some people were just panic buying.

This is whats' going on in my grocery closest to me [Toronto and GTA][ gta, stands for "Greater Toronto Area"].  How about your area, are the shelves stocked or what ?

Just wondering a bit here.  If everything is seeming shutting down.   How are the farm workers going to work and who are going to produce the food and other necessities to keep things on the shelves.   I mean it is a lot of things that  has to come together, before food comes to the grocery.  Ever read the label in a simple food product as a snack bar, maybe twenty or so ingredients that are are a composition of other things too.   I am sure others are thinking about this, but I have not seen or heard anyone mention it.

Any thoughts.

How is your neck of the woods ?.  shelves full or scarce, let us know, keep us updated from around the world.

Yesterday I got to the market....full of people, shelves nearly empty, many in check-out lines.   No toilet paper and paper products.

I managed to find one can of pineapple.   Did find a supply of crackers, popcorn and cookies.   Got cream cheese and almond milk, cat food.

However, the market wouldn't let me buy the frozen meals I needed at checkout!   They only let me buy six.....which won't last long for two people!

So last night I went to the Asian restaurant a half block away.     Got 3 dinners, take out, (eating in is now banned here).   The Asian food will last  only couple of days.    But I'm trying to stretch the frozen dinners.

After yesterday at the crazy market, I'm resting today.   But must get to the bank for cash soon.    A couple of neighbors offer to get something for us sometimes....but I need cash for them.

Our mayor told seniors to stay inside!!!   But I have to go out to get food and cash.

My mom gets Meals on Wheels (lunch) five days a week.   I tried to get on them this morning....but the lady says they are being bombarded.   They need to review all requests.   So for now, only my mom has a guaranteed lunch for five days a week.

My neighbor, Will, stopped to check on us.   He walked to Subway Sandwich for us.   So that footlong will last mom for dinner tonight and tomorrow.    Thank God for a few neighbors that care....we have no family here.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
