We are all aware of the flood in the book of Genesis that supposedly occurred many millennia back; but according to the book of Enoch this global flood is due to occur in the future.

I was reading in Isaiah 14:14-22 how Babylon through its socioeconomic consumptive policies will have made the world a wilderness, and how the Lord will then terminate Babylon and its policies, when I noticed a correlation with the termination of those destroying the earth in Enoch XLVIII:10. I decided to verify if these were the same, and so I continued reading through Enoch XLVIII and later chapters for further data. The first thing that appeared is that the Lord Jesus who is referred to as the Elect one in Enoch has returned to the earth and great wisdom is poured out like water upon the faithful, which in their hearts has replaced the consumptive system destroying the earth, that still continues to some degree among the faithless. The faithless nations who continue in their ways of Satan are described as being in a burning furnace (probably in reference to consumptive industry), when the Lord Omnipotent (described as the Lord of Spirits), decides to take vengeance on the faithless nations (LIV:6). It is at this point when in LIV:7, where the waters from the heavens above, along with the waters from beneath the earth (scientifically estimated to be somewhere around 10 times all surface waters combined), commence to flood the earth, destroying the faithless.

In LV:1, The Head of Days (another reference to the Lord Omnipotent) then repents for His having destroyed the earth, and swears that He will never again destroy the earth by flood; just like in Genesis 9:11.

Enoch 1:1 The words of the blessing of Enoch, wherewith he blessed the elect righteous, who will be living in the day of tribulation, when all the wicked and godless are to be removed. 2. And he took up this parable and said--Enoch a righteous man, whose eyes were opened by God, saw the vision of the Holy One in the heavens, which the angels showed me, and from them I heard everything, and from them I understood as I saw, but not for this generation, but for a remote one which is for to come.

Again, Enoch is not Scriptural. The book is not GOD inspired.

We believe that the Lord Himself made sure that the canon His Church has available is precisely what He intended us to have.

This is essential. Essential that we all agree on this.

It is also clear that NT writers read enoch (or what is called enoch) and quoted it. Those guys read lots of stuff including the Greek philosophers.

This does not make it scripture and all to be taken with a salt grain and measured with and by scripture.

The LOrd gave us we we need essential to salvation and learning about Him.

The rest can be some fun and interesting, but can also be a distraction....rabbit hole.

:-)

Jude quotes from the book of Enoch, Paul quoted from the Athenian philosophers in his Mars Hill sermon.

Doesn't make the entire book of Enoch or the philosophy of the Athenians scriptural / canonical.

For that matter, most of humanity gets most of scripture wrong by their misinterpretations of what actually IS

canonical.

2 Peter 3:10 "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."

The earth will be burned up, not flooded. Enoch isn't scriptural. I've looked at the Book of Enoch before and the one issue I had was its emphasis on angels and watchers, giving them more power than is reasonable for them to have. For example, I'll just go to the beginning of Enoch:

And then Michael, Gabriel, Suriel and Uriel, looked down from Heaven, and saw the mass of blood that was being shed on the Earth, and all the iniquity that was being done on the Earth And they said to one another: "Let the devastated Earth cry out with the sound of their cries unto the Gate of Heaven. . . . And You know everything, before it happens, and You know this, and what concerns each of them. But You say nothing to us. What ought we to do with them, about this?"

Why would an angel challenge God in this manner? It's one thing to cry out to the Lord, it's another for them to say 'What ought we to do with them'.

"And these are the names of the Holy Angels who keep Watch. Uriel, one of the Holy Angels; namely the Angel of thunder and earthquakes. Raphael, one of the Holy Angels; namely the Angel of the spirits of men. Raguel, one of the Holy Angels; who takes vengeance on the world, and on the lights. Michael, one of the Holy Angels; namely the one put in charge of the best part of mankind, in charge of the nation. Saraqael, one of the Holy Angels; who is in charge of the spirits of men who cause the spirits to sin. Gabriel, one of the Holy Angels; who is in charge of the Serpents, and the Garden, and the Cherubim."

This sounds a lot like polytheism. Angels are messengers; they receive orders, they have their jobs and their duties and those jobs and duties may change over time. To have so many angels named and be in charge of something, is alarming to me. Demons are angels: fallen angels. The Book of Enoch is either a demonic-work of literature or it was simply someone with a vivid imagination, whose work of fiction has been taken too literal.

Rev. 22:8-9 And I am John, who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had shown me these things. But he said to me, “Do not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God!"

Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Holy angels don't bring attention to themselves. Anyone who has had an encounter with angels also knows this. Angels are fellow servants with us. They wouldn't so brazenly go to God as Enoch recounts. The angels mentioned in the book of Enoch are not holy. And they didn't breed with women!

Its true the book/books of Enoch which we don't know what he wrote..all or parts. Angels help.. bring messages from God...as for how man and the ranks and what ALL do.. no one knows..its not written and I am not going to speculate.  They seem to have free choice as we do since Satan and 1/3 fell with him and did infact mix with women. They "And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day" "There were giants on the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men and they bore children to them, the same became mighty men who were of old, men of renown."

Anyway yes no more flood God gave His word. Seems fire is next..how when no clue..but left up to man? This world is gone.. praise GOD He shorten the time because of us...for us.

Timing Katie Miller,

Yes the world will be burned up, but that is to occur following the millennium reign, when Satan is let loose, and the whole world follows him to the encampment of the saints in Jerusalem. Prior to this burning of the earth, other environmentally destructive plagues are to occur, as those in Revelation 8 & 16.

The Thwaites glacier in Antarctica (also referred to as the doomsday glacier) is expected to break away in the next five years. Once it does, all the ice it is currently buttressing is expected to soon follow into the sea. Once all this occurs, sea levels are expected to rise anywhere from 3 feet to 10 feet. While this may not be the flood in the bible, I still wouldn't want to own any low lying seaside property soon.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
