I won't be left behind if Jesus comes tomorrow. I am not waiting a the work of men to be accomplished before he returns. My eschatology permits him to come any time, even though I believe the gospel will continue to be successful as long as he tarries. I am not waiting on nations to be restored, temples to be built, animals to be worthlessly slaughtered, wars to be wages, or the Church to become impotent and in need of rescue. I am about my Father's business empowered by the shed blood of His Son and the sanctifying, inspiring, and empowering work of His Spirit.

I am not following a 200-year line of teachers who forever predict his return only to prove themselves false teachers. Been there. Done that. Read my Bible. Not doing it any longer. Jesus comes tomorrow then I am ready. It's a huge irony some wait for temples nations and temples and slaughter and kingdoms because they delay his coming - apparently not realizing that is a works-based salvation.

Neither will I be disappointed if he does not come tomorrow, or next week, next month, next year, decade, or score because He has given me plenty to do.

Ephesians 2:8-10
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;  not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.  For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Saved by grace.
Saved through faith (not by faith).
Saved, being created in Christ for good works.

Works are the purpose, not the cause, of our salvation. Every single one of us has plenty to do and waiting for the destruction of the world is not one of them. If you did not do so already, go read that op to which I linked you on the compromising of core Christian doctrine

So,if we're living in the Millennial now, what makes this world attractive? Or don't you believe in the Millennial at all?

Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

If you are LOOKING for His coming, EXPECTING Him, then you will not be left behind.

If you are expecting Him tomorrow, it will not be because you are following 200 years of man made expectations. You would be following Paul. He wrote FAR longer than 200 years ago.

Martin Luther could not have said it better! Good job!

Never happened.

I have no disdain for the Jewish people. I was referencing scripture.

Honestly, your rebuttal to whether the Jewish Rabbis being "dispensational" in explaining the 7 day creation to a world cycle of 7,000 years was ... they're lost and God doesn't care about what they think ... sorry it's a bit insensitive.  The reality is that God has a plan for the restoration of the Jewish people ... just as He has a plan to reach every nation, tribe and tongue.  I asked you to pray about it ... because that's exactly how I read that post, your insensitivity to their plight of a world without their Messiah.

Anyone can go through scripture and compare the last days scriptures with the last day scriptures, and anyone can do the same with this age (the age in which Jesus appeared) and the age to come.

God spends 9 CHAPTERS (Ezekiel 40-48) detailing a Temple ... and specifically states in 2 places that God is establishing a Temple whereby all men will know truth.

Isa 2:1  The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

Isa 2:2  It shall come to pass in the latter days (literally in the END OF THE DAYS -- acharyit ha-yamim in Hebrew) that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it,

Isa 2:3  and many peoples shall come, and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Isa 2:4  He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.

Isa 2:5  O house of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the LORD.

Again in Micah ...

Mic 4:1  It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and it shall be lifted up above the hills; and peoples shall flow to it,

Mic 4:2  and many nations shall come, and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Mic 4:3  He shall judge between many peoples, and shall decide disputes for strong nations far away; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore;

Mic 4:4  but they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree, and no one shall make them afraid, for the mouth of the LORD of hosts has spoken.

Mic 4:5  For all the peoples walk each in the name of its god, but we will walk in the name of the LORD our God forever and ever.

Perhaps instead of dismissing huge portions of Scripture ... one should STUDY out WHY?  PURPOSE?  How does it fit into God's plan?  :)

Honestly, if you took the time to STUDY out the KINGDOM message it was CENTRAL to Jesus' teachings!

Luk 4:43  but he said to them, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose.”

Act 1:3  He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God.

Act 1:6  So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”

Act 1:7  He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority.

When someone UNDERSTANDS the totality of the Kingdom message ... it's more than simply salvation ... then one truly grabs hold of the message of God!

There are spiritual forces at work in the world and we wrestle against the spiritual forces of evil every day..

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

Yes--we are to be watchful and to know his wiles as well as the dictates of our own flesh, which is more likely to trip us up. Do you believe the enemy can devour one who is 'In Christ'. I hope not, for many reasons.

For those who've not read this was a study on the Kingdom.

It may be enlightening to those who are interested.

And what does the New Testament say about these passages?

Does the Old Testament no longer count as Scripture?

The Return of Jesus

"4On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half the mountain moving to the north and half to the south"

This dovetails nicely with this:

  • And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were watching, and a cloud took Him up, out of their sight.  And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, then behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them, and they said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.” Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away.   Acts 1: 9-12

The disciples watched Jesus ascend from the Mount of Olives.  The angles there said He would return in the same way He left which fits perfectly with the scripture you quoted from Zechariah.

There is no evidence that such an event has taken place.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
