Wow Marnie, they really need to get more reception in that cave you've been living in.

I am the only person in America who has no idea who this is!

Wow...someone doesn't know who the crocodile hunter is? And I thought I didn't get around much... :emot-hug:

I really enjoyed his show, it was great. I never heard him spout off evolutionary junk during his comments about the animals he would be featuring and I appreciated it. I noticed after his show became such a hit that another guy came out with a crocodile show (most likely because Steve's show was such a success). This other guy was always saying something like, 'Millions of years ago these lizards were just an amoeba...blah, blah, blah.' and I didn't think he was nearly as interesting or funny to watch. Thing is , I can't remember the other guys name or show, but I think it aired on Discovery Channel, though I am not even certain about that. Steve led such an interesting life, probably lived more than most do in a full lifetime. Him and his wife did seem like they had a great relationship. I hope he was a believer in Jesus, too. I feel sorry for his wife and children... :mgqueen:

Oh dear! He was quite a character, wasn't he? I feel badly for him, and his surviving family. He sure took a lot of chances with his life.

he had this exotic way of speaking. i hope his soul is in peace

The other show I was thinking of is The Jeff Corwin Experience.

I am an Aussie and it has hit Australia hard that he died so suddenly but he did have a very risky job but loved what he did.

A real larrikin and the kids absolutely loved him.

He brought a lot of people joy and I think put Australia on the map.

I do pray for his wife Terri and 2 children.

While I really feel for his wife and children, I think that they were prepared for something like this. You don't do what Irwin did and expect to come out unscathed. I remember watching one of his episodes, and he got bitten by a diamondback rattlesnake. They had to fly him to a hospital to get the antivenom. It took about an hour, then they were back out again looking for more snakes in the brush. He talked about how many times he had gotten bitten by deadly snakes. It was in the dozens.

So I'm sure his wife was well aware of the potential for something like this, although I'm sure she's still suffering the loss. I just really feel badly for those kids, you know? They have an 8-year-old and a 2-year-old.

Yeah, I need to leave the Bat Cave more often, I guess.

You know what's really sad? People making fun of him after he dies. I am so grieved for his family and I was in another chatroom (not Worthy) and the people there were mocking him and making fun of what he loved to do.

And yes, I believe he was a Christian. I seem to remember him in an interview saying he was.
