See Hebrews 10:23-39, for this puts Hebrews six in it's true light and prevents us from making the wrong application of it's teaching. What these believers were in danger of becoming, was, 'waste', or, 'drawing back unto perdition', by failing to go on unto perfection, and enduring to the end (like those saints of old, listed in chapter 11), failing to reach the goal of their faith. Some of the people here do want to be friends, I'd say Debp is one of them, but others not so much. This part of the forums is better for friends. In other parts many people just want to argue and/or prove they're right. So avoid those boards. I remember responding to 1 of your threads once. I hope I didn't add to your misery. I'm 65, disabled, and virtually all my family is dead. The people who were my good friends 25 yrs ago have moved, are holding grudges (I know not why), some died, but in 1 way or another are all gone. Oh, one cousin is left but she's heavily into the New Age and considers me a fool for reading the Bible. I do what 1 person told you, I go out everyday and speak to clerks in stores. I try to treat them with kindness and love so most of them think I'm a crazy old man. They know I believe in God because I always speak of Him. But I'm an extrovert and all this is not a substitute for a real life friend. I know that because up until 2001 I had a few. I always wanted to be married but ever since I was about 18 I felt it would never happen. I still hope for it because you can never be too sure what God has planned for you. But I don't expect it anymore. I hope I didn't scare you by telling you this. I know nothing about you. I once met a young Christian girl who was convinced God was telling her to wait for this one guy who was 8 yrs older than her. I was sure that didn't come from God but I couldn't convince her. You say God told you that you will be alone and friendless for the rest of life. I don't know you but I wouldn't put much credibility into that unless you have a situation like mine. And remember, even I still hope a little. Maybe tomorrow I'll meet a friend. Maybe you will. I'm sure you noticed many of us replied to your post. Some of us would be friends with you but you have to reach out. Send someone a PM. By doing that you can say things you'd rather not say on the open board. Hello there, You are referring to the figure of the Olive tree, when you use the words, 'cut off', but that figure pertained only during the period of the book of Acts, and being cut off from Israel, into which believing Gentiles were 'grafted' in the hope of promoting growth in an ailing tree. That is where the figure ends. Believers in Christ are One with Him, and there is no possibility of being 'cut off'. I also don't believe God is punishing you for doing a foolhardy thing but God often does let us suffer the consequences for what we did. Since you didn't say what it was I'm going to guess here. Some people never recover like Christoper Reeves, he played Superman in the movie from the 70's. I'm not sure what he did but he was paralyzed the rest of his life. However, some pain goes away even if it takes 10 yrs. This happened to me. I very foolishly touched a moving fan belt in a car. It was indeed foolish because my father taught me to never touch that when I was 12 or 13. It sliced off the tips of 2 fingers where there are thousands of nerve endings. The pain was beyond belief and regular docs don't understand nerve pain. Even the strongest opiates there are only calmed the pain down a few hours. That's all they knew to give me so in 6 months I was hooked on pain pills. Then I heard of docs called Physiatrists. These docs specialize in nerves and the pain they cause. He amazed me because he explained my pain to me better than I could explain it to him. They tend to stay away from opiates and use drugs that 30 yrs ago no one knew can kill pain. When I finally went to him I was in pain 1 yr already. I asked him if it would ever stop and he's the doc who said probably in 10 yrs. He was right. Occasionally I still feel some pain but not much. If you haven't seen a Physiatrist I recommend one of them.

I understand and agree with you here. I was just wanting to point out what the blessed hope is. It's for all who are Christ's. It's not a "free pass" that applies only to a certain few at a certain point in time as some make it out to be.

For near near fifty years that I'm aware of, there's never been building funds, bake sales, pledging, and the like I've witnessed elsewhere just to keep afloat, I've also witnessed different families supported when finding themselves in troubles, and it seems to work well.
