Is Satan a defeated foe?

I say yes he is, he was defeated 2000 yrs ago when Jesus died and then rose again from the dead. I thought all long time Christians knew this.

For Christians who believe and have faith by the Christ Jesus'sacrifice at the cross at carvery, Yes hallelujah, Christ paid the FULL penalty in  over the power of satan. But for those with unbelief, they are still caught up ih his traps.

A loaded question. Just like us to split a truth and argue. Both are held in tension and are correct.

Jesus is and was and is to come.  Has always been.

We were saved, we are being saved, and we will be saved. Seen before the foundations of the world. "When you see these things begin to happen, then look up, your salvation draws near."

Satan was defeated, is being defeated, and will be defeated.

Depending on our millennial view or spiritualized influences the discussion can go on and on and...……….

Sure of course.

However, he's still alive and well in this world, and doing his deeds.  But he does know that the battle was lost, and now it's all about taking as many down with him, as he can.

He has power, but that power is triumphed even by humans, when they claim the power of Jesus Christ, even His Name spoken aloud!

He is defeated. The seals in Revelation are a picture of God unsealing the Title Deed of Trust for the Earth. We as the Body of Christ have authority over the earth now believe it or not. But when Christ returns with the Church, He will take full control.

When Jesus arose from the dead he gave the enemy a swift kick in the head and removed his greatest power, that of death.   Now he just lies, accuses, deceives and and tries to bind us with fear.  But he is a toothless roaring lion.  

Heb 2:14  Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

Heb 2:15  and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

The enemy being defeated is an understatement, he is sooooooo defeated that he is like a bug that has been hit with napalm, crushed with a rock 100 times it size, thrown into the vacum of space, dissolved in acid.........the list goes on. It may seem like the enemy has made a huge dent, but, God will not loose what He has created. He will do what he said he will do. When He said he will give back the years stolen from us, He meant it....... think ETERNITY. Nothing that the enemy has done will stand. I do wonder if he knows of the Big Cookout waiting for him, where he will be flung into the lake of fire like a used Kleenex.
