God said Job was perfect in his ways. Not God's ways. And Gods ways are not our ways.

Twisted scripture...

Job, Noah, Abram (a.k.a Abraham), and Hezekiah are a few people who have been called “perfect” in scripture (Job 1:1, Gen 6:9, Gen 17:1, 2 Kings 20:3).

Job was a righteous man of God. His sin, as a righteous man, was to question God.

"Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous"

"Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous"
1 John 3:7

Hi, Dan... Could it be so that when you and I read this account in the Bible today, we would be encouraged by Job's faith and grow in our own faith?  Job was genuinely praying for it to happen.  I marvel at this verse:

"Oh, that my words were written! Oh, that they were inscribed in a book! That they were engraved on a rock With an iron pen and lead, forever! For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth; And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God, Whom I shall see for myself, And my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!

- Job 19:23-27 (NKJV)

85F1561F-9274-422B-BA98-ABBED32CD0A2.gif.4cc7ac451c1c3f0169cff753cef81295.gif

And here in the ninth chapter, we see Job desperately yearning for a Mediator that would stand between him and God, even being oblivious of God's plan of salvation through Jesus Christ.  Just incredible!

"For He is not a man, as I am, that I may answer Him, and that we should go to court together. Nor is there any mediator between us, Who may lay his hand on us both. Let Him take His rod away from me, And do not let dread of Him terrify me. Then I would speak and not fear Him, But it is not so with me.

- Job 9:32-35 (NKJV)

I don't want to get into the weeds here, as this can get into a much broader bunch of stuff, but perhaps something to think about.

We know that none are righteous--no not one--in terms of what is justly required of God. Hence Christ and His imputed Righteousness for us who are 'In Christ'.

Too thoughts concerning a some individuals.

1. David sinned grievously and yet he was a man after God's own heart. In that He was 'perfect' for God's purpose and became an example and a type for God's Purpose.

2. Abraham believed and clearly sinned and yet he was an example of those who believe and are made righteous.

3. We can go on with Job and Noah and many others....

Here is a thought---could it be, that for His own purposes God declared these men righteous and faithful because they walked in the light that they were given. The Light and Truth available to them?

And yet, they all were looking forward to Christ, who is the answer to their lack--Godward.

________________________________-second part after considering the first.

I think it may be interesting and profitable to carry these things forward when we consider that there is only one source of ultimate Salvation--and that is 'Christ and His work. How then, do those like Abe and David enter, though they lived before Christ's work was accomplished in this earth?

I love the quote by Voddie Baucham and so true.

I thought salvation comes from responding to an alter call, reciting a sinners prayer, asking Jesus into my heart..lol  Found no where in the bible. True salvations comes from real repentance and real faith.

Real faith has action.  True repentance is not just feeling sorry for your sins but actively turning from sin and going the opposite direction.

Romans 10:9 Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation.
11 For the Scripture says, "Everyone believing on Him shall not be put to shame."

Dan, please refrain from calling people names, or risk being ejected from participation in threads. For that matter, just try to stick to the topic, and keep opinions about people to yourself. Referring to anyone as a clown, does not contribute any substance.

My question is, how can he come and take us to heaven, when he’s already IN OUR HEARTS/ SPIRIT?

How can He not, when that is what He (and the Bible) promises to do!

Yes, we and He have a spiritual nature, but there is also a bodily nature. He was ressurected in a body, which ate, walked, talked, could be seen and touched, etc. Believers who die, will also rise again in bodies.

as one passage says:

13But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 15For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord,d that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Other examples similar to Job and complaining would be many chapters in Psalms. Chapter 10 being one.

No one calls David a complainer.

My take away from Job is he was a very godly man who was tried in some of the most severe ways imaginable. His 'complaints' were brought to God as were David's when the enemy was all around him and it seemed they had the advantage over him.

"Oh God why?"....pick your ending here, and I think we have all been there. If you haven't, you will be.

It's a good thing when we complain the Lord doesn't respond in anger. The children of Israel complained constantly and what did He do? He always gave then what they needed. On more than one occasion they complained out of fear they would thirst to death. Every time God gave them water.

So imagine God up there in heaven and Satan who is far from human having concern about one particular human. They are peering from a very high vantage point onto humanity, and Satan doesn't like the protection and bounty afforded to Job, or maybe he just doesn't like Job himself. Whatever the reason, he wants to see him fall, see him topple. One argument probably being that if such a godly man as Job can be toppled, then any man is fair game.

The bible calls  Satan the "accuser of the brethren" or the accuser. Most of what Job experienced from his so called friends was accusation. Did God truly act on a whim because Satan decided to accuse Job? God does not do anything on a whim ever. God knew Satan was going to show up and what he was going to say.

Job is a story of extremes. An extremely good holy man of God who was doing rather well all of a sudden looses everything he values aside from God, yet God is his main interest. God is really the center of what Job values the most, even though those other things were very important top him. At some point he says God is God, God will do what God will do, Praise him regardless for who He is.

I believe Job had a solid faith in God even though he could not understand any of what was happening.

Part of the reason God showed Job a glimpse into His mighty control and power over everything was to help remind him who was in total control of all things.

Job is a story of faith in God no matter what because God always has a plan.

It isn't likely most of us will ever go through what Job went through, however he stands to this day as a shining example of a person who endured through extreme hardship, and was upheld by the hand of the Lord through it all. The book also shows what always happens to any plan of Satan no matter how successful it may look. Satan always looses in the end. Satan has already lost.

Those who abide in the Lord will always win no matter how it looks presently. We win in His power not our own.

Blessings Brother

Now see that,David is one of my favorites,I look forward to meeting him❤️

Funny how I never see David as a whiner,I've always seen him as a Praiser and of course, warrior. When I was a little girl I wanted to grow up to be like David,I thought" no matter what I will sing Praises to the Lord" and I will be a warrior for Christ! That's where I first saw Jesus in the Old Testament as a child.....made a huge impression on my little mind that stayed with me through many a battle.

Anyway, thanks for sharing but God Didn't not sound pleased with the stiff necked, grumbling, murmuring Jews he kept through the wilderness- indeed He kept them but they made a very short journey go on for 40yrs and some never saw the Promised Land as a result of their hardened hearts

In my first post regarding " Job as a woe is me" I did mention I'd get chewed out, lol.   I always say what I have in my heart though, right, wrong or indifferent.Mostly everyone I've ever had this discussion with greatly admires Job,as do I- I just say his pity party gets me,it's the " I should have been still born"

I find it very hard to relate to Job,as I said I really believe it's a very personal thing with me.... I cannot tell you how the Book of Job was shoved down my throat decades ago- people used to insist it was about learning " patience"- I didn't get that, still don't

You see my Dad didn't call me " Kwik" without a reason, lol.  I never waited a minute to do anything or to move on,I caught on quickly & had little patience for repetition. So everyone said" read Job"???? Strange, don't ya think?

Anyway, can we talk about King David next.... Whatever you want to start with would be really great- Can we?

Ooh,I have a question!

Who or what do you think incited( or moved?) David to take the concensus & why did that Anger God against Israel...

Some think  it was satan, others think it was God Himself and yet there are those who think it was David's own pride( which for me is satan's input)

David sinned yet Israel was going to suffer as a result, why?

Of course I have my thoughts but I'd love to hear everyone else's.....

Yes well, you may not recall, but you said:

Since you asked, I gave you a basic answer, just going by the word of God, which I quoted. If you don't want answers, then don't ask the questions - simple, eh?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
