Loving as Christ loves is literally impossible. Jesus is God so his love is absolutely perfect, but we are fallible imperfect beings who have a hard time with the simplest love. We can do our best, but our very best love still has much room for improvement.

We don't do it on our own. God sends the Holy Spirit to empower and direct us in the task. If we try to spread the Gospel in our own strength, without relying on the Holy Spirit, we get into deep trouble!

I think there is a reluctance to go into much detail in this subject since it open most up to scrutiny and doubt. God [speaks] in many ways and through many people and even animals. At least the one donkey (Numbers 22). Satan does as well (and through at least the one serpent Genesis 3). Sometimes people are not good judges to distinguish between the two. As with all things, we tend to believe in what appeals most to us. But imagine Abram at the behest of the LORD took Isaac to Mount Moriah to slay (Genesis 22). Or Hosea being told to marry a prostitute. Our wits and personal bias and self serving desires kick in and reason "surely not Lord" ← Simon Peterobics {wink} "Unless I see the prints of the nails... I won't believe." ← Thomasonics I have heard my name called out audibly when no one was around causing me to pause just long enough to avoid a fatal accident. I have hear the voice of God in my heart aiding me in an intense debate with a Jewish Rabbi (guiding me to a profound point about Isaiah 53 that the suffering servant is Israel as the Jews claim... but that Israel is none other than the Messiah (Israel is a contraction of three words he / prince / God yish sarar elohiym and the ultimate Prince of God is... Messiah Jesus). I seek the tutelage of the Holy Spirit every time I read scripture (2 Peter 1:20-21 / 1 John 4:1 / Acts 17:11 / Proverbs 25:2 / Deuteronomy 29:29 / Isaiah 28:9-13). I endeavor not to write or do Bible studies by my own understanding but by what the Holy Spirit gives me at times which flows so consistently I hardly know what is coming next until I've typed it. Often times I am given a word to type that I do not know for sure what it means until I look it up. The late great Dr Walter Martin (founder of Christian Research Institute and the original Bible Answer Man radio broadcaster) once put it like this... "you have to do your home work... but you also learn by doing... debating cultists and skeptics and atheists and heretics of all varieties, I sometimes find answers to their questions or challenges that are not coming from me because I did not know them before." God also speaks as in Revelation with a completely audible thunderous voice. I guess the point in all this is the testing by the scriptures (Acts 17:11 / 1 John 4:1) to determine whatever you hear however you hear it is actually the truth / voice from God or not.

It was Obama that officially announced this when he said the America was no longer just a Christian nation. WE can look around us at our country today and compare it to what it was in the past and understand the result of this, some would consider it to be a negative one, others positive. I believe Trump was elected to bring about the Abraham Accords and to SLOW DOWN the Anti-Christs ascension, he was coming forth too fast. God used a man as a tool. Just like he used Alexander the Great. I got a little perturbed in my last post because it seemed you were trying to say anyone who thinks God used Trump must think he is the Christ. Trump is not Christian. I watched an interview with Trump where he didn't know what born again meant and admitted he never asks God's forgiveness for anything. So I believe at this time his soul is still lost, but morally he's the best option we have and we should pray he wins the election and pray he gets saved.

We get saved by grace. Not by works. So no one can boast. Nobody could keep the whole law. That's why Jesus came. It's enough to say: Lord have mercy on me, a sinner, when you have lived terrible your whole life and say that on your death bed. If you stay alive then yes you can't live like the devil, but you don't want to if you get born from God and yes these things are good to warn if you backslid and don't hear God anymore. Normally the Holy Spirit immediately says: hey not good. I was a teen. I gossipped with my friends about my other friends. I hated 2 friends because they rather hung out together than with me and I thought I was in my right and I did not believe in God. Then I got convinced that He existed and went to a church. Then I prayed the sinner's prayer and I just said it. I wasn't thinking: ooooh that is sin that I hate them. That was normal to me. I didnt even think about it. But afterwards the first thing I noticed that changed was that I could hug them. That's not my good works. God did that. I got a new heart. Years later I backslid when I divorced, so I was back in hate. Then yes I got warnings with hell from God and preachers. I lived in sin. I had to repent and come back. And yes teach them to obey okay it's a part of discipleship to learn what to do, but most of that stuff is obvious. It looks like a list for atheists. The 10 rules or something.

Hi, I do not think the USA is dominated by a majority that is Christian, in fact I think this USA is a post Christian nation. As to choosing between one of the candidates for president put up by either of the two dominate political groups I can only ask what have I to do with belial? I'm in agreement with @Slibhin. No one has been forced into a gay marriage; making such a thing legal does not force it upon anyone in the least. It's been my custom to remain silent in matters like these, knowing that my words exert no effect. I cannot help but wonder at the insular lives many evangelicals must lead, for they are so easily offended and even stirred to wrath by the affairs of their neighbor. Indeed, it appears that efforts to govern the affairs of their neighbor is the primary occupation of their religion. I've always been the outsider looking in. Abraham never inherited the Land. he dwelt in it but was a sojourner. Six generations of Abraham also did not get the Land. Joshua's generation died in the wilderness, but the next one gained it. In less than 1,000 years Israel was ejected from the Land and it remained under foreign rule and/or desolate until today. The present State of Israel is subject to the whims of foreign nations. The House of David is in ruins. Verse 15 above reminds us that though this state of affairs reigned in the time of the fathers of Israel, Abraham and company did not return to their original Lands. Nor did Moses return to Egypt. The word "heavenly" can mean two things. (I) It is IN heaven, or (II) it had its origin in heaven and bears the nature of heaven. I judge that the second one is meant. God Promised Abraham a LAND with BORDERS - one that he could stand on a vantage point and see till the horizon. This is further proven by the presence and ownership of the cursed Canaanites. It is further proven by the fact that Abraham was a "sojourner". If, at some point in time, a King came from Heaven and instituted a set of governing rules for people who lived in this Land, the Land would have the flavor of heaven. Verse 16 presents us with a City made in heaven. This city cannot be physical Jerusalem because it is already standing and occupied when the heavenly King comes from th clouds and His feet touch Mount Olives. And it will have been the Citadel of a man from the Abyss who went to perdition. The "heavenly City" must be defined by one that had its ORIGIN and Nature in heaven. And scripture presents us this City FOUR times. It is presented as a MOTHER three times, and a TREE once. 1. In Galatians 4:26 it is declared to be MOTHER of "us all". The context is the seed of Isaac to whom the PROMISE was made. The Promise was the LAND and BOTH Israelite AND Believer are seed of Isaac (Rom.9:3-4, Gal.3:29) - one by the flesh and one by the Spirit. In both cases the God of Heaven intervened in a woman's womb. 2. In Romans 11 is an Olive Tree. A Tree in parable is a king and his kingdom (see Judges 9 etc.). The Tree is made of a Root/Stem which is holy and two types of branches- (i) Natural and (ii) Wild. The King is Christ and His nature decides the the nature of the Tree - heavenly. The Two peoples of Galatians 4:26 are the branches and just as the gold of the Temple is made by the Temple, the Root of the Tree makes the Tree Heavenly. The Olive Tree is the sum of the Kingdom of Heaven, BUT INCOMPLETE In this age it does not have Israel - and in the millennium it will be missing those Christians who are cast out of the Kingdom OF HEAVEN. 3. In Revelation 12 is a MOTHER. She has THREE SEEDS. (i) The Man-Child, (ii) Those who keep the commandments of God, and (iii) Those who have the testimony of Jesus Christ. The term "Commandments of God" is exclusively used in the Old Testament to describe the Law of Moses, making one of the seeds the Jewish Remnant of Romans 9 and 11. Those who "have the testimony of Jesus Christ" can only be Believers. Thus, we have AGAIN a HEAVENLY MOTHER of both Believer and Israelite. Her crown is CELESTIAL - heavenly and makes her a KINGDOM. She is New Jerusalem during the Great Tribulation. 4. The City of Revelation 21 is a WIFE. She is from HEAVEN and the City has the glory of God - Heavenly or CELESTIAL She is made of Believers (Walls) and Israel (Gates) - the same two of Galatians 4:26 and Romans 11 Now, it is clear that New Jerusalem is not complete until after the Millennium. But those who are part of it enjoy the full privileges. The Book of Hebrews presents REWARD and LOSS for staying with Christ through tribulation or returning to Moses for EARTHLY rewards. The City in Hebrews 11 is the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN and is made of those OF FAITH. Israel will not rule, but will be the LAND of the great King, and The BELIEVERS who lived by faith will bring heavenly rule to earth. The student of Hebrews 11 must decide whether the Heavenly City is literal or a Picture. The Beast will have occupied Jerusalem for 7 years just prior to Christ's arrival. It will have been constructed over 1,500 years of foreign occupation. It's foundations are the ruins of God's judgment. Jesus will bring heavenly nature and flavor to Jerusalem and the whole earth and the men and women of faith RECEIVE THEIR INHERITANCE from the COVENANT OF PROMISE. A Land and City subject to heavenly rule.

The Church is OF the seed of Abraham which is CHRIST. Yes, Jesus does return to the earth however, His seat of Power and authority is - `far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come.` (Eph. 1: 21) The new Jerusalem will not come to earth but be in the Universal realm, where all nations can walk in its light as the earth revolves. (Rev. 21: 24) God will be with those on the earth by His Holy Spirit. God is never visible - `Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever Amen.` (1 Tim. 1: 17) King David is certainly not a Christian. He is a righteous saint, and one who awaits his inheritance in the heavenly city. He is in the General Assembly in the third heaven at the moment till the city comes down in the new heavens and new earth. `And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets...` But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.` (Heb. 11: 32, 16) `To the General Assembly and the church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just (righteous) men made perfect. ` (Heb. 12: 23) Those before Christ ascended and began to build His Body are called the `just or righteous saints.` They were made perfect because of their faith in what God promised them. `These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.` (Heb. 11: 13) The parables are all addressed to the people of Israel. `Now I say that Jesus Christ became a servant to the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers. ` (Rom. 15: 8)

I feel and agree with you, yet Jesus commanded us to. So this love we are to love Him with is not an emotion, nor even anything we do FOR Him as in good works, but rather dying to self; laying down our lives as He did for us; presenting ourselves as a living sacrifice. And still we fall short...Grace, grace, marvelous grace.

I will admit I can't prove 100% that God doesn't speak to someone in an audible voice. I base that assumption on the following. #1. Not one of the great men of God I greatly respect, like Lee Strobel, Josh McDowell, Charles Stanley, and even the great Billy Graham who had the hand of God on his life greater than any other person in nearly 2,000 years have ever said they have heard the audible voice of God. Many men far greater than I could ever hope to be have said they've NEVER heard the voice of God. #2. Scripture says God has given us the scriptures and the conscience and speak through those. #3. There's NO REASON for God to speak audibly. A very long time ago God spoke very rarely, not to people but to 1 single person. This person was the prophet and it was his job to communicate God's words to the rest of the nation. They didn't have a Bible to read. These days we have the Bible, 66 books and over 1,000 chapters of God's word. If God was going to speak audibly, them scripture is meaningless. When Jesus said his sheep hear his voice, I'm convinced that he was talking about his word in the scriptures and the conscience that every person has. I could be wrong, but I have not been convicted that this is a false belief, so I will continue to believe until proven or convicted otherwise.

I just remember going to the city dump in St. Pete, Florida 50 years ago working with my Stepdad (law service) to dump grass clippings etc. every couple weeks and the millions of seagulls that blanketed the landfill. I really do not subscribe to the Antichrist end time figure. The Apostle John under the unction of the Holy Spirit coined the phrase, and used it in the singular and plural, and that in application for his day and age. But yes, of course, the spirit of antichrist continues in many ways even today. However, John also wrote Revelation, under the unction and leading of the same Holy Spirit, yet nowhere does he reuse the word there. WHY? Plus, I do not believe in a rebuilding of the temple...
