Who is mystery Babylon?

Often a topic or a sub-topic that is brought up.  When I thought of this not long ago an obelisk popped in my head.  These things are everywhere the largest being in Washington D.C.  Some notable obelisks are in the Vatican, Cleopatra's Needle in London, The Luxor Obelisk in Paris, Sanssouci Park in Germany, Hyde Park Obelisk in Australia.

Pretty much every western nation has an obelisk or baal's shaft in their nations and cities.    Maybe Mystery Babylon is not a place but an allegiance among the nations.  The question is that allegiance pointing in the right direction?

Exosus 23:24 You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their works; but you shall utterly overthrow them and completely break down their sacred pillars.

Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.

Translations differ. ESV uses 'pillars' but NIV says 'sacred stones' and KJV simply says 'images.' Perhaps there is someone on this site with knowledge of the original text who can shed light on this?

Jeremiah 43:13 He shall break also the images of Bethshemesh, that is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of the Egyptians shall he burn with fire.

The word for images is from hebrew Matstsebah, strongs 4676 meaning Pillar or Stump.  Other translations have even called it an obelisk which makes sense since they are in Egypt.

Just the same why do we have these obelisks in every nation and city?

This is from Ancient History Encyclopedia.

Symbolism of the Obelisk

The obelisks of ancient Egypt represented the benben, the primordial mound upon which the god Atum stood at the creation of the world. As such, they were associated with the benu bird, the Egyptian precursor to the Greek phoenix. According to some Egyptian myths the benu bird was the first living creature whose cry awoke creation and set life in motion. The bird was linked to the morning star and the renewal of each day but was also the sign of the end of the world; in the same way the bird had cried to begin the creative cycle, she would sound again to signal its completion.

The Egyptians believed a day would come when the gods would die and all would return to the uniformity of primordial chaos. The benu bird would not choose this end of its own but would be given its cue by the sun god Ra who, in turn, would have been informed by the god Thoth, keeper of the records of humans and gods. The benu bird was primarily linked, however, with Ra (later Amun and Amun-Ra) and with light and life. Egyptologist Geraldine Pinch comments on this:

From the Pyramid Texts onward, the benu bird was closely associated with the creator sun god. In Heliopolis, the center of solar worship, the benu bird was said to perch on the benben stone, a kind of primitive obelisk, or in the branches of a sacred willow tree. When Egyptian kings had reigned for thirty years, they asked the benu bird to renew their strength and vitality (117).

Homage to a false god. I imagine it's tied into Babylon who looks to reign through the strength of economies.

to get an understanding of what these pillars or standing stones represent, one would have to study the ancient religions themselves.   and they are not the same.   Canaanite pillars (Asherah pole) represents the mother goddess.  Where the Egyptian Obelisk like the ones at the Vatican and in DC represents the lost penis of Osiris that Isis could not find when she fished his dismembered body out of the Nile River.

It is my understanding that the sacred pillars of the Canaanites represent the fertility goddess Asherah which was worshipped as a fertility goddess.    Tied into temple prostitute rituals that is too disgusting to discuss here, if anywhere at all.

Mystery Babylon - the false religion with its idolatry, symbolism and opposition to the God of Adam arising in Sumer > Babylon > Assyria > Egypt > Greece > Rome > Europe > the world

Mystery refers to the incorporation of these most ancient Mesopotamian/Egyptian religions into Roman Catholicism without recognition of their origin and symbolism by the faithful. Their Babylonian origins are disguised and people do not understand the incorporation of false religion into the origins of the Papacy and the evolution of the church of Rome.

Mystery Babylon is not about a world political system, etc as Revelation is about the history and development of the gospel, the church, Christianity and of judgement.

Rev 17:4  The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality.
17:5  And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth's abominations.”
17:6  And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I marvelled greatly.

Rev 17:18  And the woman that you saw is the great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth.

Rome represents the cultural, economic and political history and achievements of Europe from the Caesars to now as the ruling civilization of the world. Europe is a product of Rome.

The Roman Catholic religion is truly world wide and exercises great worldly political and religious power over her peoples and governments. Search for a map of the worldwide distribution of Roman Catholicism and you can clearly see how the RCC is the most populous of all the Christian churches. No others Christian faiths come close to matching the RCC.

MYSTERY BABYLON - come out of her my people - Jesus called out to the children of Israel to come out of Egypt; and Jesus calls out believers to come out of the world (to come out of Egypt) note then how the RCC at her very "spiritual" centre has an Egyptian monolith . Why honour false religion and Egypt?

Rev 17:4  The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality.

Three issues to note here: 1) arrayed in purple and scarlet are most definitely the colours of the RCC; 2) gold, jewels and pearls > worldly wealth and treasures is what satan offers and is in complete contrast to what Jesus teaches about treasure in Heaven; 3) sexual immorality is the hallmark of the RCC from the wickedness of the Popes over history, nuns and monks getting up to mischief (one of the reasons that motivated Luther), homosexuality rife within the church over history, child sex scandals after scandal after scandal, forbidding their clergy to marry ...

1Tim 4:1  Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,
3  who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. [remember no eating of meat on Friday]

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
