  1. What are you trusting in for your salvation? Is it Jesus's death and resurrection or your feelings? Do you believe that Jesus paid for your sins, took your punishment, that he has given you his rightousness and that it is Jesus who is holding on to your faith? Was Paul correct when he said that there is Nothing, that is right Nothing in all creation that is able to separate you from the love of Jesus. If you believe this what is the problem. God sent his Son to be beaten half to death and then to hang from nail driven through his wrists untill he lacked the strength to push himself up on the nail through his feet, so he could breath. As his legs lost strength his body dropped onto his outstreched arms driving the air out of his lings and forcing him to push down on the nail in his feet and so on for six(6) long hours. He did this because he Loves you. Note that this is present tense, he loves you now and will continue to love you.
  2. If the cross is not in John3:16 then that verse does not apply to us.
  3. Jesus spoke to many people that we have reorded in the NT, like John3:16-21 said to Nicodemus, is this also only for him or as it is normallt understood to be for everyone. If 14:2 is not true then heaven if it is a celestial city, will be a most uncomfortable place if there are no places for us, only for the disciples.
  4. Paul disagrees with you about the law see:- Romans 3:21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. 27 Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith. 28 For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law. 29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, 30 since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. 31 Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.
  5. Turn it around, If what happened to Job happened to you. What would you do? How you answer will tell you how likely you are to suffer as Job suffered. For most of us satan knows he doesn't need that level of effort.
  6. It is free for those who believe. Not free for Jesus. For those who believe, it is not, let go and let God. But Receive and strive as we seek to show our love for Jesus by the way we obey him.
  7. After Adam was expelled from Eden he ate his bread by the sweat of his brow. How hard this was try reading about the experience of the early pioneers in America. They had iron tools and often plough animals yet they worked from sunup to sundown just to stay alive. It would have been similar for those alive in the pre industrial world. and definetly in the pre flood world. How much curiosity would depend on what they were told about Adam, don't forget many followed Cain and had no regard for God. Adam would have told them about God and would have been a living rebuke for there godless ways.
  8. 5 years ago you had a kiss, which you have regretted and confessed to God and have been forgiven by God. It is dealt with thrown as far as the east is from the west. I would suggest talking to her about it. Not to clear your consience but for you both to discover how you handle disapointment and disagreement. If she storms off, throwing plates, trees, vases and small animals/children you will learn about her temper and inability to argue sencibly. Yes she will be disapointed, that is part of what married life is about, being disapointed by the failures of the one you love and still loving them.
  9. I am sorry that your marriage has ended. It is always an emotional moment to realise that ones marriage is over, has ended. Give yourself time to grieve and start rebuilding your life. When life kicks you in the teeth it takes courage to trust God and it hurts. God has not abandoned you, he hears all your prayers and he is with you.
  10. Has that hurt been repented of by the person who hurt you? If they can't or won't you will have to hand the situation over to God and pray for that person. If they did say sorry and you cannot let go. Then again pray to God about that person, praising God for them and praying for their benefit. If you have forgiven them, but still feel hurt, then you need to hand that hurt over to God, along with all the details of the incident and do two things. Pray for that persons benefit and thank God for taking charge of your hurt etc.
  11. Why pick on muslims, what about a secular government, should you have dealings with that, or pagan/new age people. There are No biblical texts that tell Christians to live in an unholy huddle keeping themselves separet from the world. In fact Maat 28:16-20 Commands us to Go into All the World.
  12. His church and your church both went to a youth event so it does not sound like there are serious theological issues. All you have said is that your parents do not like the way he dresses. From the way you have reported your parents reacted it sounds like you come from a culture that expects conformity. Your options are to ask what grounds they have for disaproving of him. To continue quitely dating him untill you are both in a position to marry. to conform and stop seing him. Is there anyone you could talk to, your pastors wife, an elders wife who could help mediate a solution.
  13. For understanding there has to be more than just a shared language. There has also to be a shared comprehension of things like morality, reasoning and purpose. Gadgets may give the meaning of words, but they depend on shared reasoning to enable true understanding.
  14. So what answer did you get from what commentaries that you read? How did your preacher answer this question?@ ditto the masses of preachers recorded online? In short what answers did you find and why do you think we will have better answers than the great preachers of the past.
  15. Church hopping- there is no commitment to a community, no sharring in the christian community needs, hopes, joys etc. It also encourages an overly critical spirit about sermons and church services. Volunteering, if you are a church member I see no need for classes or an attendance record. This is hyperthetical untill you are again a fully functioning human being and not a zombie! Pregnant dog. It is a dog, not a human being, get it checked and spayed, and keep your cash for your family.
  16. A better ider is to know God and to know ones self. To use a Lord of the Rings illistration. Saroman studied suron, to know his ways etc and became enslaved by him. Know your saviour and know your own weaknesses.
  17. Sorry we don't need not to see to be decieved, his chief weapon is between our ears, in our mind, our gullebility. What did he tell Eve, 'you will be like god!' and it is that desire that enables him to lead us astray. As for chantingg the names of God. Grow up. The devil has been in Gods presence, he tried to overthrow him, he is not afraid of chanting. We cannot defeat him but the depth of our relationship with Jesus and the indewelling Spirit can, if we are willing to resist to the point of sheading blood. 1Cor 10:13 and Heb 12:4 are key.
  18. And what about disney's use of magic? The 'magic' of the marvel super heros, power rangers and of course how do you stop them encountering antichristian ideas? Better to train them to know what is good and to defend that, then to deny them the chance to learn about other ideas.
  19. You find it in genesis, the devil said you will be like gods and they are still listening and falling for it.
  20. Only once you have set it aside and that does not mean it has to be given to A church.
  21. This has come up as a reply to my post, is that what you intended?
  22. Best advice I can give you is talk to your pastor and ask him for advice on books to read. otherwise follow blogs like coldcasechristianity and reasonablefaith.
  23. More a case of whether you are human enough to volunteer. Even 4 hourly feeding cycle will leave you like a zombie and if its less you'll be even more zombified. Find a mother and toddler group at an evangelical church where you can meet other mums and encourage one another and maybe evangelise any nonchristian mums,
  24. God sends dream generally to two types of people. Those who do not have the bible or other Christians to get advice from or those who are disobedient and he is trying to save them. As a general rule, if you have a bible you Do Not Need message via dreams etc As Paul says in Romans 12:1+2 get bibled biased brains so you know what od wants of you.
  25. Latin is called the vulgar that is it was the common language used in Rome. It is not a special or a 'holy' language. If you are looking for that Hebrew being the language of the Jews has a far better claim. That many people worship many gods, so what, try the argument many people break the speed limit, so should speed limits be abolished? Or should Gods command to worship only him be obeyed. or it is mans willingness to be dupted into worshipping false gods rather than obey God. Just because you have a passenger in the car urging you to go faster and faster doesn't mean you should listen.
