I believe the gate of heaven is open to anyone who loves the Lord with all their heart, mind, and soul, and loves their neighbor as themselves.

So this begs the question .   IS it possible to LOVE GOD and yet not LOVE CHRIST .   NO it is NOT .

You are right , heaven is open for all who love GOD .   And those who LOVE the FATHER LOVE THE SON and those who LOVE THE SON , LOVE THE FATHER .     good works and great intentions will save none .

Yep ,    I just wanted to expound in that a bit .   You be encouraged John .

God is very merciful .  He already DID what was needed for man to be saved .    if one denies HIM ,  well that is on them .     God is love ,  and HE already made the way , IN CHRIST .

Deny that and there is no mercy .

and those who have never heard of him???

I wouldn't be worrying about others as much as I would be concerned about my own faith if I was you. I spent nearly 40 years believing I might be right but with always a question in the back of my mind. Not that you shouldn't be concerned about others, but you need to be right first for you and then for them

The last 5 years of study turned my faith upside down as the Holy Spirit led to truths that changed my whole life.

My advise is never get to a place where you can be comfortable with your faith, always search and growing and maturing. Everyone's faith should grow and change as you continually search out God's word, or your not maturing as God has commanded us to.

Some of God's warning to all of us including me.

Proverbs 14: 12 "There is a way that seems right to a man, but it's end is the way of death".

2nd Timothy 3:5 "Holding to a form of Godliness, although they have denied it's power".

2nd Timothy 3:7 "Always learning, but never coming to the knowledge of the truth."

2nd Thessalonians 2:10 "They did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved".

---------------------------------------

God is saying it's easy to be deceived.

---------------------------------------

How can so many people believe they are saved and believe such different doctrines.

God is a very "Narrow Minded God, and at the end times if you haven't put all the effort you can muster into being sure your right, you could be in some serious trouble, if your wrong and you had plenty of time to search out the truth but were lazy and wrong.

What do you think God will have to say to you.

We're talking about life and death here friends and all of us better get it right.

My name is Oligos

Since a person would have to be a believer in Christ to come to the Father, only those who believe Jesus died for their sins and arose from the dead are able to be in heaven with the Father.  That makes them Christians.  No one ever goes to heaven because they are good.  Only Christ did that.

Jhn 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Jesus commanded us to repent and be perfect, as our Father in heaven is perfect, so I suspect you are wrong.

Do you all think people who were good people in life and lived up the knowledge of God they had will be heaven even if they didn't explicitly accept Jesus?  For example, Muslims, Hindus, etc.  Of course, I believe that all people must have Jesus, but others believe that God will give some sort of second chance.

No, God makes the choice, & they are few.

God knows I am the farthest thing in the world from being “ perfect”......I am the True “Chief Of Sinners”...Yet.........because I “ Believe in the One He sent”, He has imputed the Righteousness Of His Son to my Heavenly Account......What a deal! What a Savior!

There is none who seek God! There is none who does right.
 God speaks by;
1. The creation that proclaims His existence.
2. The conscience that bears right from wrong.
3. Or the gospel was proclaimed and heard.
One cannot reject Jesus whom he never heard of. But he is accountable for that which he receives.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved
So we do know it is Jesus who saves. We don't know the who, or why. We're not God's advisors.

To whom much is given, much is required.

Remember the 'parable of the talents?'
We are to use use our God-given gifts in the service of God, not bury them,
and to take risks to share the gospel, to add to the Lord of Lord's kingdom.

So much has been given us, others and those here on this Christian forum, reading, hearing and discussing the word,
compared to those who never heard the name of Jesus,  never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ,
gazing at the heavens, listening to their conscience. And because we discuss scripture we can decide their fate???
You quoted Romans 19;, 18 grahampaul, however I will add the previous verse also;

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (from a man, or book? or the heavens and the spirit given conscience?)
But I say, Have they not heard?  Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world. Romans 10, 17-18

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.  Romans 12, 3

Again,
To whom much is given, much is required.

You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another,
you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.

For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14 (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) 16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
