  1. I enjoy building to, built my AR and I used to build/sell custom computers. And whether you save money or not kinda depends on what your doing...if your after a high end gaming computer I can usually beat the prices from major brands, sometimes by up to 50% but if your just after a basic computer, no I really can't compete there price wise, just quality wise. Same with ARs. I got about $1200 into my AR. A comparable perform AR from ruger when I made mine would have been in the $2000+ range. Of course though you can walk Into cabelas and walk out with a basic DPMS already made, for half that. I reload, not because I necessarily need the money. Sure with my higher calibers like my 270 and 303 British it's cheaper, and with some calipers they don't even make anymore, but with my AR it costs roughly the same per round to reload as to just buy the cheap stuff at wal-mart. 55 grain American eagle fmjs where I'm at run about .35-37 cents a round, and that's about what I pay for my reloads. Why I reload for my AR is because first I enjoy the process, and the challenge, and 2 I enjoy the quality and results. Sure I can get American eagle fmjs for .37 cents...but that same 37 cents gets a 68 grain boat tail hollow point custom loaded to my gun. And what most people don't realize is just how finicky .223 caliber rifles, particularly with ARs with ammo. Sure you can run cheap ammo through it and have decent accuracy, and if that's all you ever shoot well, you'll never know the difference. But once you start load development, well, you will! Being an engineer I imagine you'll enjoy the challenge to, I went through 3-4 different types of powder and 6 different types of bullets before I found a combination that truly shined in my AR, and I just did up a batch of experimental rounds with a 6th. I honestly think you'd enjoy reloading...and once you got into it you wouldn't do it to save money, you would for the same reason you like to build computers/guns, for the challenge of building/developing your own load.

  2. Blessings dprprb Is that a quote from me? I'm wondering what that was I was replying to? What I mean is,what would be COOL for us ? lol Anyway,as far as referencing what happened with God eradicating the cancer it was very COOL to see the radiologists & oncologists dumbfounded looks on their faces when the pet scans clearly revealed "NO evidence of cancer" they were so "unbelieving" they reordered the scans concluding it must be a faulty machine!!!!!! I said"When are yo going to acknowledge Gods Miracle that is right before your eyes?" I gladly agreed to have a third scan on a different machine.......they all agreed "Its a MIRACLE!" Glory to God! I must say,I do believe God does wait until man declares a situation is beyond any HOPE and IMPOSSIBLE to change the outcome so there is no mistake about His Divine Intervention.....so for anyone reading who may be in a situation that seems to be getting worse & worse ...be of good courage & let your HOPE remain in Christ Jesus! 3. Many of us can easily recall Paul speaking to the Corinth church in which he told them to remove a man from their membership. One reason for doing so is because the man was not only sinning openly for all to see, but was proud of what he should have been ashamed of. The man was living in sin with no sign of turning from it; let alone even a desire to turn from it. Paul wanted to correct the impression people had that they could continue on in sexual immorality and idolatry which was rampant in those days while claiming to be Christians and holy. And we certainly are to speak with wisdom, politeness and tact to Christians within the church who do these things. Note that while Paul had told the church to put the man out, he did not say that the man wasn't saved, what he said was, that the man was LIVING in sin very openly and proud of it. Putting him out wasn't a judgment, but a disciplinary situation in which the man needed to recognize that what he was doing was sinful and to seek repentance. Paul when speaking to the Corinth church said that God himself will judge those outside of the church. We certainly are to correct those within the church. Big difference between discipline and passing wanton judgment. The “do not judge” passage is not saying that there is not ever to be a calling out on sin or discipline within the church. What it means is that we should not make a call on mere appearances, or assumptions without having all the facts beforehand. We are not to call out sin unfairly and wantonly or being critical when doing so. While we are to abstain from all sin and the mere appearance of it. It doesn't mean we are totally free from blunders. Those happen, and most often unexpectedly and unintentionally. What it does mean is than we desire and strive to live a life that is closer to God's ideal of how we should live and treat one another. It is unfair and critical to call another person an unbeliever or unsaved because he or she committed a faux pas. Below is a partial list of sins that are common, but not necessarily committed on purpose or done habitually. If we could live without ever committing one of these listed, there would have been no need of a savior. We've all committed one or more of these or are struggling to correct bad habits. Accusing Not acknowledging your own sins Fear of confessing Christ to others Unjustified anger Angry with someone Anxious Arguing Arrogance Ashamed of Jesus and his words Vain babbling Bitterness Not blessing people who are cursing or persecuting you Bragging Not bridling your tongue Deceitful words or conversation Double tongued Speaking evil about one another Speaking evil about dignitaries Filthy conversation Asking God to reject people Speaking in haste Not being meek Saying things you should not Speaking vain words Pride Believing lies Contention Despising correction Refusing correction Not being courteous Covetousness Craftiness Cursing Despising authority Disobeying city and state laws Causing divisions Not doing what your employer asks you Getting involved and believing unsound doctrines Threatening others Refusing to help those who hurt you Envy Getting even or seeking revenge Giving a false report on someone Faultfinding Flattery for gain Failing to forgive others Hypocrisy Jealousy

  6. Mg, Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. In the purest sense of the first amendment, it refers to congress (federal govt) making laws. It does not refer to private businesses like walmart.
    1 point
  7. So a private business does not have the right to decide who they will allow in? It is acceptable for someone to force themselves in to a private enterprise? Lets carry this further. Does that mean that you support for instance someone coming in to your store and blasting Christians and you are ok with not having the right to refuse them service? Im sure this is a sign of the apocalypse, but I agree with gator. A private business has the right to decline service and ban someone from their store.

  9. This guy Qureshi is a young man whose background on how he came to Christ is very interesting. I have watched a couple of videos that included him and some of his debates with the Muslim scholars . Some may know the name David Wood, who has or had a call in show, where he mainly ministered to Muslims to show the errors in the Koran. Qureshi and David were friends studying medicine, and through David witnessing, Qureshi came to Christ. edit. this last sentence i need to verify again, as it may not be the case. I will clarify as i look again at his testimony. Qureshi is very well educated and is a medical doctor also. After his born again status, he really heeded the call to witness and did debates and written books ect. Last i heard of him, he was with Ravi Zechariah ministry and then i heard about his cancer, i believe that was at stage 3 i think. Certainly, he is a good solider in reaching out to his former Muslim brothers and yes, lets keep him in our prayers. See YT for some of his videos. May God bless and favor him.

There Is One "Tattoo" I Desire Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. Revelation 3:12 And I've Been Assured Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. Jeremiah 15:16 I'll Carry It For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:15-18 Forever And Ever Amen~! And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. Revelation 22:3-4

  11. Just because you wrote it doesn't make it true about Americans. And God help that which thinks American's are wimps because they're not acting insane as Muslims are in dying for Allah. And taking as many innocent people with them as possible in the process. So that American Christians reading of the horror pray for the loss of life. Because in this country we don't have to die to defend our faith. Nor to uphold it as having a right to exist here. Our forefathers and fore-mothers died to give us that inalienable right! Is that enough? If not, that's too bad. Because the first amendment is an inalienable right to be Christian in America. To be Mormon. To be Catholic. To be Hindu. To be Wiccan. To be free to worship anything someone wishes, even Satan himself. We Christians don't have to die for Christ in this free country. Our forefathers and mothers already did that. They weren't wimps. They were patriots. And God knew their name.

  12. Not necessarily, not by any real certainty anyway. Several things may indicate instead that "nothing is removed", rather , the enemy is more and more 'birthed' until fully empowered on earth to even kill the saints worldwide (as has been happening lately, and for many centuries, in places)..... and YHWH answers the prayers for quick justice -- wait a little longer, until the last martyr has been beheaded(or otherwise killed), then I WILL COME [at once] QUICKLY and EXECUTE MY VENGEANCE upon those who have shed the innocent blood since Adam. In many other ways it is revealed in God's Word that the ekklesia will not be spared suffering nor kept from tribulation and persecution, but rather it is necessary for everyone who stands up for the truth to suffer persecution and not draw back, but endure to the end (death or Y'SHUA'S Return).....

  13. We can point to what the Bible declares to be right. We can point to the specific way the Bible defines sin We can point to what the Bible says about rebellion and how that determines result - in the way that Romans 2 does it. Then let the Holy Spirit convict people as He wills. And let each person have their own free will - provided what they are doing is not illegal.

  14. You are very clear, and I believe correct in the assessment and concern. From my personal vantage point though, I resist making judgement of another's "Christianity". I trust God to work through to His satisfaction the sanctification of my fellow saints in Christ Jesus. Now if in that process my creator uses you and others to raise a question or alert for someone I know well or have even just casual context with, that is between you and our Lord. I just do not feel led to go about my own day asking myself is that one saved , what of that one, why I saw them do such and such. Nope it is not my calling to go about correcting my Lord's servants. I work at a local body of Christ, and I hear the question; "Were they saved?" or, " I don't know if they are saved." quite often. I personally think; What? If they have died it doesn't matter any longer, and if they are alive they are of the flock of Jesus or they are not. Their works may be good and they still not be saved, or their efforts may be near invisible and yet they are saved. The question seems to me to be judgement without any useful purpose. I do find however that God has assigned a bunch of people, and I mean a whole bunch to keep me in correction. Bless them one and all. Sincerely, bless them for they mean well, and a few might actually be led of the Holy Spirit to help me too. I do kinda wonder about the saint that told me in front of a lady's work group that really I should dress better, after all I do represent the church. I have gotten such a chuckle again and again about that one. I have learned it is somehow important how I dress to at least one saint.

  16. Would you not agree that is an extreme example? It would be like citing the members of Westboro Baptist Church (they protest funerals in a very nasty way.) They certainly may know Scripture - but even Satan and his demons know Scripture. Do not forget that Satan is the Great Deceiver. Blessings, -Ed

  18. I know what you mean. I check my library to see what they have. And they have a loan program that borrows from libraries around the country if a patron requests. You might check the books you like at Christian audiobooks and see if the library near you has a copy. Or can borrow from another donor.

  19. You are so right about reading other things than the Bible. Of course we should make it a priority. But as you say, other books can bless us as we attempt to navigate through life. Other people who have walked the same path can share what they have learned, how God has guided them, etc. I always find that encouraging. And I think it's a shame if people don't read non-Christian books, too. I love history. Right now I am reading Anthony Beevor's The Second World War. It's mammoth and may take me a month to read as I go back and forth from it to the Christian books that are a steady part of my literary diet. As they say -- so many books, so little time . . . .

  21. Almost done the Zacharias book. Next on tap -- two books by Nabeel Qureshi. I read his Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus some time ago. In it, he talks about how he left Islam and became a Christian. The two I am going to read now are entitled Answering Jihad and No God But One: Allah or Jesus? Qureshi is currently battling stomach cancer. He was diagnosed with it last summer, has had treatment, but the cancer remains. He is only in his early '30s and has a young daughter to raise. He says he isn't afraid to die because he knows he would go to be with the Lord. And he says there are plenty of people to take up his ministry to Muslims, but he doesn't want his daughter to grow up without her dad. He has a vlog available on Youtube. Really good stuff. I recommend it to one and all. Additionally, it would be great if people here would add him to their prayers.

  23. Hi SisterActs2 Certainly, Pligrim's progress is a wonderful allegory which if you put it into perspective, is not far from that reality. I especially love the opening of the first chapter of the book where Christian decided that he had to leave at all cost, leaving behind wife and all those who stuttered. Watchman Nee wrote books that i enjoy too, though some has labeled him as a cult, which i have not found his writing to be. He had an associate that took over his ministry who introduced some of his own opinions that is subjected to all kind of criticism. Here is a link to Watchman Nee full collection of books that you can read online or download for free. Anyone can then criticize his writing. You know a while back when i first joined here and i mentioned books, i got negative remarks as to the tune that they only need the Bible and why read books. Books are not to replace the Bible, but i think God has blessed some with gifts to put words to paper and do it well. Every man has to navigate this life and has to choose wisely how he walk and so too how and what he reads. http://www.watchmannee.org/life-ministry.html

  25. Hi warrior12 There are 2 people at the moment I am talking to about giving full control of their lives over to the Lord. I have told both of them I am getting them a copy of Pilgrim's Progress. Praise the Lord for this book! I also love Watchman Nee. My husband reads a Proverb a day, and I keep myself in the Old Testament and the New Testament every day (missed this morning (!)). Just bought Basil Miller's book on George Muller.

  27. I have always read and thought that the second most read book to the Bible is as below. Online search seems to bring up different ones. Not taking anything away from Oswald Chambers, as he has written well and My utmost for His Highest is awesome. There is no argument he’s the best-selling human author of all time. His name was John Bunyan. He was a 17th century tinker – a mender of pots and pans – and wrote his greatest works while imprisoned for his Christian beliefs. His “Pilgrim’s Progress” is second only to the Bible in the number of copies it has sold worldwide. It has even been called “the second best book in all the world.” Read more at http://www.wnd.com/2008/06/42035/#U0vOBIhSAGouiCcO.99

  32. I agree with your friend. I don't follow Bible reading programs either. I think the purpose of them is to help people make sure they are in the Word regularly even if it's only for a short period of time. Sometimes we get so busy that spending time in Scripture gets squeezed out of a day. The Bible reading programs have a structure that some need more than others.

  33. Yeah I did that chapter a day thing. The only thing I don't like about the Bible reading programs is I noticed myself just having to get through that verse/chapter of the day. I have a pastor friend who told me to read until something speaks. It may be 2 or 3 chapters or it may be a single verse. I had found that method to be much more fulfilling for me personally.

  34. I recall hearing David Jeremiah recommend the reading of Proverbs every day. It has enough chapters that one can read a chapter a day for a month -- and then start back at the beginning for another month. That's the beautiful thing about the Bible. It's like a gold mine. You can dig out gold day after day after day and the mine never runs out.

  35. Yes. He interviews some of the best re: different arguments for the existence of God. I have read his Case for Christ as well. He has more books, but I haven't gotten around to them as of yet. He's a journalist by trade so he writes clearly for a general audience, not an academic one. He's a good one to recommend to people who don't want something you need a Ph.D to understand.

  36. Ravi Zacharias is one of the world's foremost Christian apologists. He has spent most of his life going around the world, spreading the gospel and defending it against attackers. I have read quite a few of his books. This particular one is kind of a follow-up to one he wrote years ago. It was called Jesus Among Other Gods. In it, he did a comparison of Christianity with Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. It's good, too. He also has podcasts available through iTunes from the talks he delivers all around the world.

  40. Welcome to Worthy Christian Forum Guest_Martin! It is such a pleasure to have you here to join us and let us celebrate the joy of your salvation with you!!!!!The Word of God clearly tells us that there is only one requirement of you that you will not perish but have everlasting life and that is to believe in Jesus that He is the son of God who was raised on the 3rd day, confessing with your mouth that He is your Lord and Savior.......the act of being water baptized is a beautiful way to publicly express your faith and also(personally speaking) a very liberating personal and intimate experience....when I chose to be water baptized(many years after I was baptized by the Holy Spirit)I felt a sort of cleansing, physically ,emotionally and spiritually. But,it is a personal choice and not mandatory according to scripture. Just as so many of my brothers and sisters have already told you that being baptized(by water) is just one more platue you reach in your Christian walk,as your intimacy with the Lord develops you will become more sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit that will lead you and guide you to Wisdom and understanding and there will be no question as to what you should do. Funny you should say,"there's got to be more to it than that?!''Thats the wonderful thing about Gods "grace",it is the undeserved free pass given us by Jesus taking our place, paying our debt!Simply(nothing more to it)because He loves us sooo much!Hard to believe but that is the foundation of our Faith!!!!Well,Lothar's son, talk to God-The only reason you have that priviledge is because Jesus made that new and living way He consecrated for us to enter into the Holy of Holies through the veil(His flesh),reconciled to our Father-WOW! Yes,talk to the Father....read His Word, keep Jesus in your heart of hearts and watch Grandma, she sounds like a good representation of Christ in your life...of course you are different than she is because each of us have our very own special relationship with our Lord but we are all members of the same Body....a hand looks and acts nothing like a foot ...but are all necessary parts of the body! God bless you and keep you and i am praying for you with love in the name of Christ Jesus! Kwik

  42. Hi shoofly, I am so sorry for your loss,so sorry that it hurts so bad.I sat here staring at the blank page ,wondering....what can possibly be said to ease her pain?Sadly to say.I don't think there are any words but only.....................time.. Last year,April,I lost my dad(my best friend,my hero,my role model,my mentor,my world)-things will never be the same,he is missed today just as much as the moment he passed and nothing anyone has ever said to me could help fill that void. But the Lord,oh my Heavenly Father, has a way to put joy back in our hearts as nobody else can do.I can remember thinking,"how will I ever truly laugh again?"as I was packing my suitcase to fly to NY to see my"dead' father.....Oh but for the grace of God,when I arrived it seemed like everyone was leaning on me for some magical word or to be lifted up and that is just what happened. And that very day there was laughter in the air in the midst of the pain and grief!Only God has the ability to add joy to our every sorrow. I prayed with every ounce of my being to the God that healed my cancer,my Jesus that bore the stripes that we are healed by, to manifest that healing in my dads cancer riddled body.....that healing that is already done, rightfully and legally ours......and the Lord said"do not pray for his temporal life to be spared, because it will not-bring him to ME and have ME save his eternal life"....I begged Him to take me,in his place...but please,my Lord-don't take my dad from me.The whole church was praying for my dad but God had been gracious enough to prepare me for my loss and bring my dad to the foot of the cross.......I knew their prayers were in vain and did not share Gods Word with many.... My dad did ask Jesus into his heart(He was Catholic and always prayed to Mary)and I know he will be there to meet me at the Gate of Heaven but I still miss him and I always will.....A year has gone by and life does go on...God takes us through many a trial and tribulation, much pain and sadness....there will always be that place inside of me reserved for the love of my dad but I have that peace that does surpass all understanding and the joy of the Lord. It's funny how you can still feel that hole, that empty spot but only when we reflect on it,thats why it's so important to focus on God,live to serve Him,be a blessing to somebody, take hold of your ministry moments,pray,praise,worship,fellowship.......be filled with the good things of God! Depression is spritual warfare,I'm not saying don't take medication for perhaps some chemical imbalance,God uses many different ways to heal us but it is a vicious cycle that could be overcome with prayer, meditation and walking in spirit. The more you focus on being depressed, the more depressed you get and so on.Spend much time as you can in relationship with Jesus,He will never leave or forsake you.Faith comes by hearing, hearing the Word of God.....fill your thoughts with Jesus and there will be no room for depression to creep in......Don't think this depression will never leave you because God is able to do all things....be of good courage and wait on the Lord....He is STILL a miracle working God,it doesn't always happen in an instant but that does not mean that it hasn't happened.......your blessing may very well be on it's way to you right now, only you can't see it yet.....just know that He can and He will and trust God without reservation...and you are not letting Him down,Jesus did all the work for you...there is nothing you need to do to add to that, just love Him,Trust Him and have Faith God bless you,Kwik

  43. Amen George,Amen!.....We, as the body have a responsibility to not tolerate these things from those who may have been annointed and then have ended up "quenching the spirit"........No,the answer is...they can no longer be allowed to claim they are spirit filled and empowered to lead a flock of Gods precious children.......each member is responsible an accountable
    1 point
  44. Dear George,You have posed a most interesting question but are we to judge those that claim they are spirit filled by thier actions, at what time? As we are all a process of repentance are we speaking of the Pastor behind the pulpit for 35yrs who claims to be spirit filled and is drinking and committing adultery behind closed doors or the drug addict who has just come to the Lordc ,was miraculously delivered from the bondage of drug addiction as they puff away on a cigarette?I sometimes see things that may look one way to me(knowing a tree by its fruit)but I always have to wonder because I have no way of really knowing a persons heart......maybe their rate of growth is different than mine.....I can't answer this question simply because I do not see what God sees and I have learned well not to trust my unreliable heart or my unreliable mind.....because a person has not yet accessed or received that power that may or may not have been given does not necessarily mean that it is not there.....just a thought .....................God bless y'all.Kwik
