  1. Some Christians as a matter of faith believe that some particular variant of the KJV is the perfectly preserved Word of God for the English speaking people. I emphasize matter of faith. Frankly, trying to have a dialog with many KJV-only people is often like trying to have a dialog with a convinced flat-earther. Some are so convinced that God did it one particular way that their faith rides on being right on this particular matter. For them, it is not a question of looking at existing manuscripts and textual studies, it is a matter of looking at which things led the the KJV and rejecting all else as either corrupted or Satanically inspired. In my opinion, it's not much different than those who reject any and all science that in their minds falsely proves the earth is globe-like. I've looked through a number of KJV only sites. I consider most of them to at best to be sloppy; and at worst to be a fringe cult. Most of their "proofs" of satanic inspiration of modern day "perversions" (as they are wont to call any non-KJV translation) boils down to either the devil or sin causing any difference from the KJV. Pages upon pages of pointing out that different versions are different from the KJV and then assuming that every difference had an insidious doctrinal agenda behind it. Then a few superficial criticisms and sloppy descriptions of how manuscripts were copied, transmitted, and are studied that sound convincing to people who know little about such things. Presenting overly simplified scholarly-sounding dichotomies like Antiochian and Alexandrian manuscripts and then giving "proofs" why one is Godly and the other is not. Most of them seem to play off of the legitimate scholarly debate of the merits of the majority texts versus older texts to reject older texts; and then falsely equate the Textus Receptus with the Majority Text. The one thing they do well is generating pages upon pages of "proofs" that give an impression of an overwhelming sea of evidence in their favor. People get lost in this sea of information that is little more than a long list of the differences between the KJV and other translations with speculative comments about the potential sinful, satanic, and heretical reasons for the differences. My sense is that for most KJV-only believers, there is a fundamental underlying assumption that only one text, only one version, only one possible translation from Greek or Hebrew into English is the correct one and that it is an all or nothing proposition. Either the entire translation is perfectly God's Word, or it should be rejected. For people with this belief, it is a critical matter of faith to identify which manuscripts, which texts, which particular phrasing and wording in English is the single and only one the God has chosen as His Word. This approach is quite frankly similar in outlook to a denomination like the RCC or any other denomination that has historically claimed to have unique access to the entirety of God's truth. All others are wrong to the extent that anyone disagrees with them. It is a matter of finding the one and only place where God has put His authority and going there. Most Christians approach the question of how to deal with the variety of different manuscripts on a passage to passage basis. For them, it is a question of painstakingly looking at the various manuscript witnesses for each passage to determine which set of witnesses is most credible for a given passage. For them, it is not a question of asking which manuscript is the anointed one and always correct, but rather, collectively, what do these various witnesses say about the most likely original reading. For them, it is about considering the range of possible wordings and phrasing of a Greek or Hebrew passage being translated into English. It is about trying to understand the full range of nuances in the Greek or Hebrew sentences to best understand what a particular passage means and says. The approach here is that God has not given any one particular group exclusivity, but rather forces Christians to come together and carefully consider as a body what the various witnesses are saying. It is one thing for a believer to have their personal reasons for preferring the KJV. It is by far another to make claims that English speaking Christians should not use any other version or to claim that the majority of differences are due to satanic, heretical, or sinful activities.
  2. So it has been pitched by the post tribulation crowd that God's purpose in sending His children , in whom there is now " no condemnation ", into the tribulation is that there are those in Christ who are weak and are not pleasing to God . They need extra " testing " with the spirit of fear, bondage , temptation that they may be made strong like themselves or be plucked from the hand of Christ if their weakness demands . A tough love culling the herd of the weaker Christians by the God of all divine comfort and mercies . Once again you have a post-trib philosophy completely counter to the Words of Jesus who told us that though in Christ we will encounter temptation in this world , it is the expressed desire of God the Father for His children to ," lead us not into temptation ." Whereas the pre-trib understanding is in complete concurrence with this statement of Jesus's , with His children being led " not into temptation " through His gathering of them to Himself in the rapture . Striking how consistent each belief is juxtaposed to the various teachings of Jesus .

    lord shiva

Friends , today people in India are worshipping lord shiva. please pray that they know and worship Lord Jesus
  4. If their hearts welcome, truly, the Lord Jesus, they would be saved. But when people hears, is convicted and simply ignore... It is sad. "Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!" - Matthew 10:15 "For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death." - 2 Corinthians 7:10 Surrender, people, surrender to the Lord Jesus before it is too late. Obey the Gospel. "For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them." - Matthew 13:15 “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” - Luke 5:31-32
  5. Glad it is better but will continue to pray.

  10. Get Ready For A World Currency This was the cover of the 1988 magazine - `The Economist magazine.` It displayed the picture of a Phoenix world currency rising from the ashes of national fiat currencies. ie destruction of fiat currencies via hyperinflation. The Phoenix is an occult metaphor. Out of the destruction, the ashes of the old world order, the Luciferian New World order will rise like a Phoenix. `In 1988 the Economist magazine writers predicted that in 30 years - 2018 that people in rich countries like America, Japan, Europe and many others will probably be paying for their shopping with the same currency. Prices will not be quoted in dollars, yen or D-marks, but in say the Phoenix. The Phoenix will be favoured by companies and shoppers because it will be more convenient than today`s national currencies, which by then will seem a quaint cause of much disruption to economic life in the last twentieth century. The world Phoenix supply would be fixed by a new central bank, descended perhaps from the IMF. (International Monetary Fund). This would mean a big loss of economic sovereignty. The Phoenix would probably start as a cocktail of national currencies, just as the SDR`s (Special Drawing Right) are today. In time, though its value against national currencies would cease to matter, because people would choose (vote with their wallet) it for its convenience and the stability of its purchasing power. Pencil in the Phoenix for around 2018 and welcome it when it comes.` (excepts from the Economist 1988) Seems like this year will herald in big changes. What do you see? Marilyn.
  11. The right answer is the Sabbath .
  12. Outside the JWs, no one accepts the NWT (New World Translation) as anything other than a biased translation. Much of the stuff in this thread is based on material originating with SDA Benjamin Wilkinson (in his 1930 book "Our Authorized Bible Vindicated") which influenced Baptist David Otis Fuller (who wrote "Which Bible") which was then picked up by people like Peter Ruckman and Gail Riplinger. This is a fringe movement much like the flat earth movement that is by and large rejected by most Christians. It's ironic that someone (Wilkinson) who during a significant 1919 SDA conference is reported to have supported the idea the Ellen G White's writings were inerrant is one of the original sources of this movement. Here's a link to a PDF of Wilkinson's book on an SDA site. http://www.sdadefend.com/Living-Word/Wilkinson/AuthorizedBibleTOC.htm One can read it for oneself and see how much of what is being repeated nearly verbatim today was written by him back in 1930. It's fascinating to me that the first major attacks on Westscott and Hort came from an SDA teacher (who was Dean of Theology at an SDA school) who cherry picked individual sentences out of years of their writings and personal correspondence to "prove" they were heretics and occultists. Here is another book which is his response to critics. http://www.sdadefend.com/Living-Word/Answers2Objections/Answers-TOC.htm Again, I emphasize that both of these links are on an SDA site which includes many other works that defend their views. I am providing these links NOT as an endorsement but for informational purposes. The person running this SDA site feels quite strongly about Wilkinson's work. Here are their comments about Wilkinson's second book. I quote this directly and leave their boldface and editing in place. Many in our denomination are "pushing" the use of the New International Version and repressing the use of the King James Version from the pulpits. Since our doctrines, particularly the Investigative Judgment and 2300-Day Prophecy cannot be taught from the NIV, our people should be made aware of the dangers of this Romanized Bible being foisted upon them. It is time our members studied for themselves the history of the English Bible, and its many modern versions. If we are to adopt the NIV as a standard for use in the pulpit and in our schools, then we might as well give up being Seventh-day Adventists and join the ecumenical movement back to Rome. This is not an idle statement, Just a real, honest bit of study will soon reveal how the enemy has crept within our ranks. At the time OUR AUTHORIZED BIBLE VINDICATED was published, the NIV had not come on the scene. Wilkinson's main concern was with the Revised Version and the American Revision, both springing from the works of Westcott and Hort (on the RV), All modern versions also have taken their basis from the Westcott-Hort Greek Text, It is time we re-examined their sources and reasoning. Our very denomination is at stake! I repeat. It is one thing to have personal reasons to prefer the KJV as one of many translations of scripture. It is by far another to basically tell other Christians to throw away every other version than the KJV because they are being mislead by satan. What is recommended for Christians who have non-KJV bibles? burn them? throw them away? Should Christians leave any church that is not KJV-only? It is one thing to enter into dialog with other Christians about textual and translational issues as to what versions are most accurate and best to use. It is another to as a matter of faith choose one version to stand on and accuse all Christians who disagree as being under satan's influence.
  13. You failed to finish the thought: And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Matthew 6:13a Seems that its the pretrib rapture that runs contrary to the teachings of Jesus: I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one. John 17:15 Striking indeed! We don't have to leave earth to be kept. That's man's reasoning. Trust in God and fear not. What I say to you I say to all, ‘Be on the alert!’ Mark 13:37
  14. Please pray that I'll continually walk in the manner that Jesus walked and not stop doing so for the rest of my life on this earth. Thanks for praying!
  15. Im glad you are feeling better. Keeping you in prayers.
  16. I join you in prayer, Willa. May God give you total healing and sound sleep at night.
  17. 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB) 3 For although we do live in the world, we do not wage war in a worldly way; 4 because the weapons we use to wage war are not worldly. On the contrary, they have God’s power for demolishing strongholds. We demolish arguments 5 and every arrogance that raises itself up against the knowledge of God; we take every thought captive and make it obey the Messiah. 6 And when you have become completely obedient, then we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience.
  18. Hello I'm new here, looking to discuss bible topics with like-minded Christians.
  19. That you again for your caring post and for your prayers!! They mean more than you can know.
  20. It is not important to be a particular denomination. What is important is that you have a daily true relationship with God. Question: "What should I be looking for in a church?" Answer: In order to know what to look for in a local church, we must first understand God's purpose for the church—the body of Christ—in general. There are two outstanding truths about the church. First, "the church of the living God [is] the pillar and foundation of the truth" (1 Timothy 3:15). Second, Christ alone is the head of the church (Ephesians 1:22; 4:15; Colossians 1:18). In regard to the truth, the local church is a place where the Bible (God's only Truth) has complete authority. The Bible is the only infallible rule of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:15-17). Therefore, when seeking a church to attend, we should find one where, according to biblical standards, the gospel is preached, sin is condemned, worship is from the heart, the teaching is biblical, and opportunities to minister to others exist. Consider the model of the early church found in Acts 2:42-47, "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." In regard to the second truth about the church, Christians should attend a local fellowship that declares Christ's headship in all matters of doctrine and practice. No man, whether pastor, priest, or pope, is the head of the church. All men die. How can the living church of the living God have a dead head? It cannot. Christ is the church's one supreme authority, and all church leadership, gifts, order, discipline, and worship are appointed through His sovereignty, as found in the Scriptures. Once these two fundamental truths are set, the rest of the factors (buildings, worship styles, activities, programs, location, etc.) are merely a matter of personal preference. Before attending a church, some research is necessary. Doctrinal statements, purpose statements, mission statements, or anything that will give insight into what a church believes should be carefully examined. Many churches have websites where one can determine what they believe regarding the Bible, God, the Trinity, Jesus Christ, sin, and salvation. Next should be visits to the churches that seem to have the fundamentals in place. Attendance at two or three services at each church will be helpful. Any literature they have for visitors should be scrutinized, paying close attention to belief statements. Church evaluation should be based on the principles outlined above. Is the Bible held as the only authority? Is Christ exalted as head of the church? Does the church focus on discipleship? Were you led to worship God? What types of ministries does the church involve itself in? Was the message biblical and evangelical? How was the fellowship? You also need to feel comfortable. Were you made to feel welcome? Is the congregation comprised of true worshippers? Finally, remember that no church is perfect. At best, it is still filled with saved sinners whose flesh and spirits are continually at war. Also, do not forget the importance of prayer. Praying about the church God would have you attend is crucial throughout the decision-making process. https://www.gotquestions.org/looking-church.html
  21. Oh I completely understand you. I am in prayer for my husbands salvation. When we met neither of us were rooted in the word. Now, I am, and praying for his salvation has been a battle. Not a battle between he and I but between the forces of evil and darkness. It just seems like as soon as I got into God's word and started praying for his salvation Satan has been at work overtime to discourage me. One day can be beautiful and then the next day or sometimes the next moment he will say something or do something that is completely against what I am praying for. It is very difficult and very discouraging I know God's timing is perfect. I know He hears me and I just have to wait patiently for him to move in my husbands life. I see subtle changes already and I have to praise God for that. I know He is working in him. God will send him through something where all he has to look to will be Him. He did the same for me, and I am thankful for it everyday. Trust me I know what you are going through, I am going through it as well. I cry almost everyday. But in the midst of my tears I praise God because I know He has heard me and is answering my prayer everyday. The breakthrough won't happen overnight, but when it does I will have a praising partner. You will too. Just keep the faith my sister. Don't give up on God, He hears you and is working on your husband, just as he is working on mine. God bless. I am praying for you
  22. Oh it matters alright! I went through the same thing when I moved down here, trying to find a Gospel believing / preaching friendly church. Today too many former Gospel believing churches are letting the world conform them into acceptance of un-Godly teachings and principles. Not to mention all out false Gospels, doctrines and Salvation issues. What I did, I went on line and looked at their websites and/or Facebook pages, for their "statements of faith". First to make sure their belief's and theology lined up with my own. I looked at the comments to ascertain the thoughts and conduct of the congregation and posters. I next went to visit them and attend a service, to ensure the Pastor was preaching the Gospel truth and glorifying our Lord and Savior. And if the congregation and Pastor was welcoming and friendly in the love of the brothers and sisters in Christ, and welcomed sinners into their presence. I'm not promoting a specific denomination, but all my life I was a fundamentalist and had attended a Bible believing fundamentalist church. I found a local community Baptist church close by that believes 100% in the main tenants of the Bible as I do. A denomination in my opinion, is a split and division among fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, sometimes over internal satanic inspired bickering and non critical Salvation issues, to name a couple. But to sum it up, I believe the Holy Spirit will lead you, guide you, and settle in your heart the right church for you as you seek Him. Pray to the Lord for guidance.
  23. Thank you, Ps37, for your prayers.
  24. What he is asking you is where is the resurrection that accompanies the so called pre-trib rapture in the Bible? The resurrection after the tribulation is written about in Rev.20 for everyone to read.
  25. I'm in prayer for your boss and the family of the person who passed away
  26. Greetings Unfailing Presence, It is interesting that you claim that the Pre-tribulation rapture is the only position that is in harmony with the Word of Jesus. Jesus said that the tares wopuld be gathered out first before the wheat. There is no time in the words of Jesus that He nullifies these words. The Parable of the Weeds (Ezekiel 17:1-10) 24Jesus presented another parable to them: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.25But while everyone was asleep, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and slipped away. 26When the wheat sprouted and bore grain, then the weeds also appeared. 27The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’ 28‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. So the servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ 29‘No,’ he said, ‘if you pull the weeds now, you might uproot the wheat with them. 30Let both grow together until the harvest. At the proper time I will tell the harvesters, “First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat into my barn.”’” The timing of the rapture is connected with a resurrection. There is not a resurrection before the tribulation. I Thessalonians 4: The Return of the Lord 13Brothers, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who are without hope. 14For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, we also believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him. 15By the word of the Lord, we declare to you that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will be the first to rise. 17After that, we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord. It is not safe to add a resurrection before the Tribulation.
  27. Hi Thomas Eidsaa and welcome!!

    Hello

Welcome, Mariana. People who love Jesus and believe His Scriptures fit in most places.
  30. Glad you have joined us on Worthy, dmp.
  31. All are given the opportunity to be saved. What separates mankind from God is sin. (Isa 59:2) . However, Jesus, the only begotten Son of God suffered that separation on our behalf that we may have eternal life. His separation from the Father...His death on the cross...was a vicarious sacrifice. Yet Jesus said that the way is narrow to heaven, and few there be that find it. This is not because God has made it difficult, He has provided everything available, even His own Son, that we may be able to overcome sin and gain glory. What is it then that will in the final end, impede most from getting there? Love of sin...love of self...love of the world., and a deep seated reluctance to give them up. That's it. It is up to you. It is ultimately your choice, nothing more. You choose life, God will give you all you need if you trust Him. Choose this world and all it offers, you will receive what you hope for. But the end of that way is death...your eternal separation from the only Source of life.
  32. welcome Cookie! funny avatar
  33. I never ever was involved in the occult, but I do know what tulpa is. Its being or getting involved in tulpa is believing in alternative belief systems, a being or object that is created in the imagination by visualization techniques such as in Tibetan mysticism. It is of the devil and should be avoided at all cost.
