The thing about coffee, chocolate and nicotine, is that neither causes a person to lose their ability to make sound decisions. Neither causes people to have automobile accidents. There are no scriptures against drinking alcohol. What is does repeatedly say is …. don't get drunk. A person is to be in control of their senses. Telling people what they can or can not eat or drink, as well as attempting to make others feel guilty for eating or drinking certain foods, amounts to legalism verbatim. Colossians 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, Colossians 2:20-23 Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules: “Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”? These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.

I read through Lamentations earlier and a pair of verses really spoke to me and made me want to share. "Though He brings grief, He will show compassion, so great is His unfailing love. For He does not willingly bring affliction or grief to anyone." (Lamentations 3:32-33) As someone who's been stuck in prolonged abusive situations (it's much better now!) the second sentence stood out the most. For He does not willingly bring affliction or grief to anyone. When we go through times it's not God being mean to us. It can be legit discipline or more often IMO, just a side effect of living in a world where sin exists. Whatever the case it's not God's preference for us to suffer.

The entire world feel the pangs of uncertainty in many different areas. We here on this Worthy forum are in majority, followers of Jesus Christ. Some are seekers. Some are newborns. Some are students of the teachings of Jesus. Some are now teachers and disciples. Throughout thousands of years the earth has experienced troubles and uncertainly. Wars, famines, plagues, earthquakes, hurricanes, storms, violence, murder, robbery, and all of the deprivations of mankind has been here on earth and will continue to be here until the end of time. As followers of Jesus, we have been taught to be a light in times of darkness. If we are living in fear of the times, we are not being faithful to our Lord. Where is our trust in him and his promises? Over and over the Lord Jesus had to remind the people to look beyond what they were seeing in the natural, to look past the darkness. He reminded his followers they were the light in a dark world. In complete darkness even the tiniest flicker of light shines bright. People in the world today are screaming out for that flicker of light. They are searching for faith, for peace, for hope, for love, for understanding, for anything but darkness. If the Christian of the world today is not shining the light of Jesus to a dying world, they are a part of the darkness and not a part of the light. Each one of us can choose to cry, moan, tremble in fear, hide, curse the times, or we can choose to spread the Good News! The message of love, peace, grace, mercy, faith, joy, salvation, strength for the journey, and all that Jesus taught for us, his people, to get through this life on earth and to help others who are lost in their fear and anxiety. Are you a light to others in a dark world? Do your words and actions exemplify Jesus, the "Light of the World"? What are you doing to be a light for Jesus? How can your light shine even brighter for him? John 1:4-5 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Luke 11:33-36 “No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you.” John 8:12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

You shouldn't be so flippant. I have been used of the Father to lead many people to Christ. Including people who were witnessed to for years by brethren who took your position and produced nothing. Diplomacy is utter foolishness.

I can't tell you what David does - but for myself - I nail them to the wall - remove any semblance of a pretence that either respect or niceness will ever produce Christ and then show them the gates of Hell and sent them on their way having preached Christ and Him crucified. Life or death. No flowery bits. It works a treat. Mind you that is only with pretentious intellectuals. People who actually know what the bog smells like tend to be more accommodating to decency and respect.

God our Father knew us before the creation of this world, it is with love and patients that we are born into this world at this time. I would not be here, if my grandparents didn't leave England, so that my father would meet a women from New York and have a child. I then married a women whos parents came here from Italy and we had two daughters, who together had 5 sons If I was born 1 year sooner or later, these 7 people would not exist. I would not have met my wife. I had to meet my wife at that exact time and my parents needed to meet when they did and my grandparents and so on and so on, so that we can be who God wanted us to be. The question should not be why was I born in this time in history, but what Father can I do In these times to bring Glory and honor to you. How will you use me? May you find me willing to do your will.

That is a very interesting question I've pondered myself. The Lord makes no mistakes in the womb, or our placement of where and when in geography or time. This is one of the few questions posed on Worthy where there can be no arguments or debate. We do not know and are not told; we cannot even reasonably speculate or guess. We are going to have to wait on that one. But I will say, during my youth and young adult life, I thought I was placed 125+ years too late [LoL]. I even considered with a buddy, to move to Alaska and tough it out in the wilderness. I saw myself up to the challenges and excitement of the early West [Wyatt Dennis; Wild Bill Dennis Hitchcock ]. I eventually changed my tune and sincerely appreciated where and when the Lord placed me, and His blessings. I've never experienced, nor could I even imagine; lifelong toothaches and health issues; no pain reduction medications, sitting around with a distended belly from starvation, flies constantly all over me, and so much more. Here I am now, with my central air conditioning out for over a week now. Pouting around, oh woe is me! Am I kidding myself, I've become soft and don't fully appreciate all the blessings God has bestowed in the place and time He placed me in.? The Lord placed us in a time like no other, regardless of our geographical locations. About the only thing we can say is; for His will, pleasure, plan and purposes.

I'm sure everyone who reads your OP and allows their mind to wonder, even a little bit, would come up with some sort of reason, but in all honesty, we will never know until He tells us. My thoughts is that there is a reason and this reason is what I should be doing. Saying that, I've been trying to understand this reason ever since I accepted Jesus as my savior and still, to this day, am not 100% sure if what I think is correct. I should say that this is why we have faith.

I am very much a non- confrontational persom. What I am about to say, I only say because I am honestly deeply concerned, and I feel I can't keep silent. I don't intend to specifically debate anything. In fact, this is more for those who are uncertain. Also those who might be reading this who aren't necessarily logged in. I want to put out a very earnest warning to everyone reading through this forum. Especially to those who are unsure. The issues around covid regulations are not like some of the other religious debates we often have. This could, potentially be a life or death issue. Therefore... We do not know who of us on this forum are medical doctors and who aren't. In fact we know virtually nothing about anyone for certain. Please, if you want to know the truth about this virus ask a doctor or someone in the medical profession who has experience in the appropriate fields. You could also talk to a pastor if you are worried about the spiritual side of things. Also, if possible, talk to people you can see and who you actually know you can trust. Do not take anything you read here as sound medical advice. Use common sense. Think. And read carefully. Maybe after, doing proper research, you ignore covid regulations and choose not to get the injection. So be it. But please, for the sake of your own wellbeing, don't base that choice exclusively on something you read on the internet. I can't say for certain what will happen to you if you get this virus. But don't gamble with your life unnecessarily. Disagree with me if you want. But please. Stay safe. Make an informed choice. That's all I'm asking.

It's been a rough week. Sunday morning our son came to our house to help us get ready for Winter. We heat with wood and he hauled a big tractor trailer around the back of the house for us, so we have something dry to store our firewood in.... Well, before he started, he told my husband and I he had to tell us something...I could sense it was something very bad. Our son is a tough man and I don't believe I've seen him tear up in years. He said the night before, two of the guys who work for him in his tree business were coming over to he and his wife house to play some games with them after Sabbath....on their motorcycles. The one boy was 18. He had had 2 beers. He was doing some stunt on the motorcycle, standing up on it while it was going down the road...lost control and hit a tree. Broke his spine in 5 places and all kinds of bone fragments in his brain. The other guy on the other motorcycle watched it all happen, called 9-1-1.... And night before last, he died. He was only 18, an only child of his mother. Just makes us so, so sad. He was not a Christian. Our son is taking it very hard...this is the first time he's had someone close to him die. So many times young people think they are invincible...and they find out too late, that they are not. I so long for Jesus to come, to bring an end to all the sad things happening in our world.

I don't know why that would be. I don't even remember if I ever addresses such a concept. My focus is so very narrow I doubt I ranged that far afield. This narrow focus is partly by design, leading and happy circumstance. If I do delve into other areas it's probably only as it pertains to the singular vision which forms the foundation of my sincere and deepest desire: To know when Jesus returns. That is really the whole of my eschatology. I may focus on other salient points from time to time but it's just looking for more clues to see just how close we are and when the precursors begin before that grand protos entrance. Maybe I can clarify. This one GT as spoken in Matt 24 and Mark 13 is directly associated with the signs in the sky and the return of Jesus, to wit: Mark 13:24 "But in those days, after that tribulation:" Matt 24:29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days" 'That' tribulation. 'Those' days. This a specific and noteworthy time of tribulation. I think you said it yourself when you set it apart from all other tribulation when you pointed out the major descriptive phrase of that tribulation associated with the signs and Jesus return; "great tribulation, unmatched from the beginning of the world until now, and never to be seen again." Matt 24 "days of tribulation unmatched from the beginning of God’s creation until now, and never to be seen again." Based on this it's not all tribulation from the beginning of time. It's a tribulation unmatched in relation to all other tribulation. So to associate this tribulation to the general concept of 'tribulation in the world' is impossible as there would be no barometer to gauge 'unmatched from the beginning of the world'. In other words if this GT is an ongoing tribulation from the death of Abel how would it then be 'unmatched'? There would be nothing to which it could be compared. But Jesus does compare it and says it has no precedent. Ergo, this GT from Matt 24 and Mark 13 is a time of tribulation unlike any other. So there is clearly other tribulation. Not like this one. And this one cannot be any other tribulation at any other time in history either protracted or short lived as it's unmatched for one and is sandwiched in between the A of D and The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken In this case then GT as depicted in Matt 24 and Mark 13 can only be the one that follows the A of D "For at that time there will be great tribulation,(referring to seeing the A of D0". This A of D has happened one other time in history and that was in 167 BC by Antiochus IV. That wasn't the one as the horrors perpetuated on the Jews ended and Antiochus IV is long dead and we saw no cosmic disruption nor the return of Jesus and the gathering of the elect. The omission of the cosmic upheaval, the return of Jesus and the gathering of the elect is notably missing from all historical record concerning the time of Antiochus IV. Because I don't acknowledge tribulation has occurred to the people of God throughout history in no way implies I think it did not occur. But I'm not going to lump this notable time of tribulation in with all other tribulation as the word of God does not support such a thing and in fact contradicts such a conclusion based solely on the description of said GT. If it's unmatched then it's greater in some fashion as compared to all other tribulation which means it stands apart as singular moment and cannot be lumped into all history no matter how fervently one wishes.

The 'gold standard' PCR test cannot tell the difference between the flu and Covid 19, or other Coronas, so it's all rolled up into what they call Covid 19. You are wise to be skeptical.

I would recommend that you use a believing translation. The RSV undermines the Messianic prophecies and makes many "conjectural emendations", (i.e. guesses) when they don't like the Hebrew or Septuagint readings. It also undermines the deity of Christ and other important matters, in the NT. It's a Liberal (i.e. unbelieving) translation. The KJV is certainly not the only sound translation, nor the easiest to read, for a modern reader, but it is orders of magnitude better than the RSV.

As @one.opinion knows, immunity is neither absolute nor is it simple to understand. One's immune system can in some cases prove to be fatal; immune responses are partially responsible for what we experience as bodily illness. I was recently wondering a similar thing. Why did God have me born in the US? Why not Norway or England or any other place? The simple answer would be my mother wasn't in any of those places. The song " Jesus Loves Me" says it all, yet how often do we ask ourselves how much we love Jesus? How much do I inwardly love Him for allowing me to be here? Do we even at times understand what it is to love Him? Do we even comprehend love in the fullest as the created loves the creator? How do we express that emotion to Him a being we have never seen with our human eyes? How do we relate to that idea?

All instances of "Joshua" in the new testament king James were replaced with "Jesus" we can see that even when it is speaking about the old testament 'Joshua' even still the word was replaced with 'Jesus': Acts 7:43-45. Some of the twistings of Paul's words that existed since Paul's day [Acts 20:29, 2 Peter 3:15-16] have remained as what we call scripture in all translations. Romans 7:23-25 correct translation as is clear from the context of chapter 6 and chapter 8: "But I see another law in my members warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into bondage to the law of sin which is in my members. Therefore with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin. Oh wretched man that I am! Who shall save me from this body of death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord." "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and free from death." The whole thing clearly flows better, and fits better with the surrounding context of chapter 6 and 8. So while the King James is ok, we should still be matching scripture with scripture, old and new, and keeping things in context, to get the full meaning and understanding of what is being said.

You will lack the Fruit of the Spirit. But if he stays silent and allow your pain and hurt and frustration, you will call on Him, the only one who can make you like iron, Micah 4:13. You are doing what He expects. He know you will be troubled. He knows you will be angry at Him. He knows you will be confused. You are in His hands. Your pain is glorifying the Lord, because He is building you up in Christ to strengthen you to do His work. He can’t use you if you remain the same. It took me a long time to come to terms with this. I didn’t even want to I say “let thy will be done” at first. Because I didn’t want it. But the more you cry out to God, the more He builds you up spiritually. Little by little - so He is speaking to you! His way at first. As you grow, and yes, through the furnace of fire, you will start to hear Him because your spirit will be softened enough to hear the guidance of the Holy Spirit. So, count it all joy because our suffering due to God’s chastisement means we are His children, Hebrews 12:8.

I don't doubt what @R. Hartono says about the evil luciferian agenda. It was his or her comments on supposed prophetic words coming from dreams or visions that kind of side tracked me in importance. I think this is because I have been reading and seeing all kinds of zany stuff out there lately. This tied right in with it. There will be many false prophets in the end times in comparison to the good ones. It can be difficult to sort through the static. When we attempt to make solid connections between the COVID vaccination and the new world order is where the real fun starts. If you notice many countries are still dealing with this individually. The strategies use to deal with it are not the same across the board or initiated by a one world entity. I think many people see where this could be headed in the near future and make the huge connection to a Satanic one world system. In my opinion many things will need to be further consolidated in order for a scenerio like that to happen. While I think we can see many interests and systems consolidating almost daily that could shape up to be a totalitarian global system, we aren't quite there yet. A vaccine is one thing. A card or mark to eat issued by a world leader is another. I try to keep in the loop on what is happening. Sorting out the static on the extreme ends of both sides. Yes something is happening and it doesn't feel like a good thing to me. Does the way the poster wrote cause you to disregard the message. Is it hard to understand Globalism and the UN in regards to our faith. I want to get right to the point. Does everyone agree that this is the biggest spiritual war the world has seen in our generation? It is diabolical. This virus is surrounded by lies and deception. It has created fear which is how Satan goes out an conquers the world. The rebellious and terrorist protests are also part of the evil. Ee are now being warned that if Biden doesnt win, America will suffer great violence. Control, manipulate the public by fear, threats. We cannot fix this world or this country because sin stands in the way. It is growing, getting out of control and needs to be judged. Other one, CaptWalker, Beau and johnthebaptist, thank you all so much for such insight. Often times I feel alone and carrying a load that I think is way too heavy for me, but I know God in in the mist of all that goes on in my life. I am not worried, per se, just concerned about how the rest of my life will be played out with this one concern I have. Not one to complain, but I am just worn out by obedience. But will continue to fight...knowing I have a greater reward in the end.
