  2. Before I tell you the story, let me share the teaching from the book of Romans. Chapter 7. Verses 4-6. The whole chapter is about, as a Christian, being released from the Law. Here are verses 4-6: "Likewise, my brothers, you also have died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who has been raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God. 5 For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death. 6 But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old way of the written code." OK, I'm getting to the story - one more thing. Some Christians think that the devil makes us sin - but he can't. He CAN plant the idea in the heart and mind and tell you if you don't DO or HAVE that thing that you will just die!! That's a lie from hell. You have the free will and strength in Christ to resist such things. The Bible says in the book of James [the half-brother of Jesus] that sin comes from our own evil desires that are already there. Paul says, in Romans here, that the LAW or any rule of conduct "arouses our evil desires". What? So are laws and rules a bad thing? No way. OK, the story.... I was once teaching 6th grade a LOOONG time ago. Before school computers. Before Google. It was the end of the year and we were preparing to take a few classes to the park for a field day. There was, next to the park, a Coca-Cola museum, a Bible museum, and a famous home with all sorts of interesting things and artifacts. EXPENSIVE THINGS. They all belonged to the same family. One artifact was a Ming vase - at LEAST from the 14th or 15th century! The class perked up for a few minutes at my telling that. But one young 6th grade boy was spellbound by that. As I said, it was before school computers and before Google. He checked out every "M" encyclopedia from the library and read all he could about Ming vases and the Ming dynasty. He asked me a whole HOST of questions in the days before us going. He was fascinated by the whole thing. While he was fascinated, I was getting an uneasy feeling about the whole thing, because I could tell that he was going to want to put HIS HANDS on the vase!! Nothing there was covered or far from touching ability, but everyone KNEW NOT to touch anything in the house. They explained it there and I discussed it in the classroom a week before going. I made a hard and fast rule. TOUCH NOTHING. The school nor I could afford to replace anything there. Whew! All my rule did was to "arouse his passions" for that vase!! Just like Paul said. Well, I made sure that I went with his group. We walked from the park across the street to see house and museum and Coca-Cola memorabilia. When we were in the room with the Ming vase, I made sure that I spotted it right off the bat. He spotted it too. Sharp kid. The tour guide gave a good speech in the room and then led us out to the next room. She asked the class to make a line and they did and followed her. My young man whom I worried about made sure - very sneakily and casually that he was the LAST in line! So I made sure that I was right behind him. I'm not sure how stealthily I did so. I didn't know what he might do. Pick it up? Toss it around? Shake it? There was just a soft velvet rope in front of the shelf that it was on. NOW WHAT GOOD DID THAT DO?!?! I didn't know what I was going to do. Scream at him? Tackle him? Distract him? Well the line was slow and just when the guide turned the corner out of that room and into the next - she couldn't be seen by us in the back of the line. And he took his chance. He didn't grab it. He didn't place his hands on it. He simply and softly reached out his left index finger and ever so gently touched the vase. You see, my rule, - which was a GOOD rule - just aroused his rebellious passions that were already there in his flesh. Just like Paul explains. Now I'm not going to tell you that I chastised him because I didn't. That's not the point of the story. And....I'm not going to tell you that I, MYSELF, didn't touch it either. Because I did. That's not the point of the story, either. My point? Our sin belongs to us and us alone. Not the devil. Not anyone else. Let us repent and come back to God.

  3. @Mr. M @D. Adrien @Marilyn C @AdHoc Just think . . . we know that "the worlds were framed by the Word of God" (Jesus), and nothing came into existence apart from Him. So all matter was out from Him. But then it is stated that "the Son was granted to have life in Himself." So then the very words He speaks, "they are Spirit and they are life." Wowzie! Matter is one thing, but life is a whole 'nuther ballgame folks!

  4. Amen! Here is the text, . 32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: 33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved. The age of grace is a time when God stays His justice so that men might consider their ways and repent, and so enjoy the salvation that Jesus has wrought for men. Our message is one of reconciliation. If we give offense we alienate. So it is up to us to deal expansively with all men. But I judge that the order that the Holy Spirit gave is decisive. 1. To the Jews first. By using "Jews" and not "Israel" He alludes to individual men. Nationally, Israel must bear the brunt of the curses of the Law (Lev.26 & Deut.28), but of the "TWAIN" (Jew and Gentile - Eph.2:15) God is forming the New Man. The Jew has 1,500 years of Law behind him and is reluctant to mix with the Gentile. So he is quickly offended and will be closed to the gospel of reconciliation. To be kind and retreating, taking offense but not giving it must be our plan when dealing with Jews. 2. To the Gentile next. If we claim our rights, the Gentile understands this, but it does not lead to reconciliation. If we let our rights go the Gentile thinks we are weak. But we have opened a door that intrigues the Gentile and even "pleases" him. Not all, but some. Backing off our rights to the "profit" of a gentile is the direct testimony of Jesus. Our actions in this matter speak so much louder than words. 3. Although the Church is mentioned third there is a grand principle attached to avoiding offense. It is this: Whatsoever you do to Christ's brethren, you do it to Christ. In this simple fact is either great reward or great loss. In Matthew 25:31-46 it can escalate to the Lake of Fire for a glass of water. This is covered by a Covenant where God PROMISED with an oath that anyone touching the seed of Abraham - which we are (Gal.3:29) - would make a personal enemy of Him. Let us be kind and retiring to all men, especially the Jew.

  5. Here's a quick answer: In accordance with Romans 12:14, Christians are explicitly instructed to bless those who persecute them and refrain from cursing them. The verse states: "Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse."12. While the Old Testament does contain instances of God’s people cursing their enemies, Jesus, in the New Testament, elevates the standard for believers. He encourages us to love our enemies, bless them, and pray for them. Rather than asking God to bring harm or calamity upon those who wrong us, we are to leave judgment and battle in His hands. Let God decide how to handle each situation, trusting in His wisdom and justice1. So, as Christians, let us refrain from cursing and instead extend grace, even to those who oppose us. 🙏🏼 [Copilot Chatbot] Also, Pro 26:2 Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, So a curse without cause shall not alight. And also, Eph 6:11-13 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (12) For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (13) Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

  6. Leviticus 2:13 And every offering of your grain offering you shall season with salt; you shall not allow the salt of the covenant of your God to be lacking from your grain offering. With all your offerings you shall offer salt. For years, when I visited my father-in-law’s home in Jerusalem on the Sabbath, we would break bread and bless the bread with the traditional blessing – “Baruch Ata Adonai Eleheynu Melech HaOlam Ha-Motzi Lechem Min Ha’aretz” – which translated means,”Blessed are You Lord our God, King of the Universe, Who has given us bread from the earth”. After the blessing, my father-in-law would take salt and sprinkle the challah bread as he broke and passed it to everyone at the table. I began to understand this blessing only a few years ago, when I stumbled across this verse in Leviticus about adding salt to every grain offering. Mentioned only three times in Scripture, yet this covenant carries deep significance and harmonizes perfectly with our New Covenant understanding of the gospel and its eternal blessing in our lives. Historically, the salt covenant was used in ancient times as an expression of commitment and loyalty – affirming friendships that would last forever. It was also used in marriage ceremonies demonstrating the pact of enduring loyalty between a man and a woman. So, the next time you break bread – salt it – reminding yourself not only of the Lord’s body that was broken for you – but also of your eternal friendship with Yeshua and your soon coming marriage to Him – all resting soundly on His loyal covenant of love. 7. While I agree with what you have said, there is a strange case that needs to be taken care of. I'm not sure we can though. It is the case of Eve. Romans 5:12-17 tells us where this sinful nature comes from - Adam's transgression. Now Eve came from Adam BEFORE this transgression. What made Eve disobey God? Here are the points to consider: 1. Though commanded to eat from the Tree of Life, Adam and Eve did not 2. If Eve came from Adam before the transgression, why did she transgress 3. If evil was present in Adam and Eve then God, Who created them, included the Adamic nature (perish the thought) 4. If evil was not present with eve (and Adam) what provoked them I do have an opinion, but would like to hear other opinions, as mine is not a settled matter and easy to contradict. To set things off I have noted that Eve was tempted in the same way that Jesus was - with the world (1st Jn.2:16): 1. The fruit was nice to look upon - the lust of the eyes 2. The fruit was nice to eat - the lust of the flesh 3. The fruit made one wise - the pride of life Similarly, our Lord Jesus was tested: 1. Bread after 40 days of no food - the desire of the flesh 2. The Kingdoms of this world and their glory - the desire of the eyes 3. To prove divine connection - to be upheld by God no matter what - pride of life

  9. Ah, but an interesting lesson might also be learned from it, one that maybe should be considered when we try to outlaw something or ban a political movement or candidate. It becomes more and more desirable when forbidden and creates an overpowering desire for it that overrides any thought about the consequences of having it, like happened with that apple in the garden. An unchanging aspect of human nature as such.

  19. I think you've confused evolution (change in allele frequencies in a population) with universal common descent. It's a common fallacy of YE creationists to take the discovery of geneticists that all life has a common ancestor and attempt to graft that onto evolutionary theory. No. Genetics notes that common descent is always reflected in genetic relatedness. And we can check that conclusion by looking at organisms of known descent. Always true. And speciation has always gone on, you just tried to add it to God's word, as you aways do. Sir Alexander Flemming, the discoverer of penicillin, predicted that careless use of the antibiotic would lead to the evolution of resistance in bacteria. He was correct. Evolutionary theory is now used by physicians to design antibiotic protocols to prevent or delay such evolution. This application of the theory has saved many lives. It's not a recent thing; your source is really out of date. Another case: Darwin's theory had a huge problem in his time. You see, he could not explain how a new trait would spread in a population. Scientists at the time thought that heredity was in the blood and so a new trait would then be erased like a drop of red paint in a barrel of white paint. Then genetics was discovered and the reason for evolution became clear. Shortly after that, pretty much all biologists accepted evolution. There's more, if you need more. Those facts merely expose your source as a fraud. Many advances in science have come as the result of evolutionary theory. Want to see some more? And as you learned, genetics shows common ancestry, not evolutionary theory. I suppose I could characterize your statement as a lie, since I repeatedly showed you that God created all things, and that early Christians knew this. But you seem so wrapped up in your new doctrines that you don't want to believe it. And one more time, Darwin's great discovery was that biological evolution does not happen by chance. But if it did, it would not be a problem for Christians, who are aware that for an almighty God, divine providence can occur by necessity or by contingency. Tossing out random quotes that don't address the issue, does you no good at all.

Israel has offered to be good neighbors to them for decades, if they would just stop killing the Jewish people. It isn't going to happen until they break away from Islamic law. Don't think this is what I wish to happen, I'm just looking at the reality of the situation.

  25. It's a common fallacy of evolution proponents to take that that which is known and extrapolate that into that which never happened, then use use the former to try and prove the latter. ie, Because we can breed different species of dogs, therefore all living things share common ancestry. It's all part of the same false religion. We can't even agree that speciation took place since the great flood, because that's just one of many, many components of the Scriptures you reject. None of which has any relevance with the origination of life from a single progenitor, or the emergence of man from apes. what is actually KNOWN about biology wouldn't be any different if one accepted the genetic bottleneck of those on the ark. That's sad, really, because you believe things that have no basis in reality. You seriously never read the entire first chapter of Genesis?? Let's look at your favorite lie; that creation is a new belief. Importantly, the church never countenanced the idea that all nonliving and living things came into existence and developed according to processes like natural selection, speciation, and random mutations. Indeed, the early church soundly denounced the “atomic” theory that everything that exists started out by the accidental collision of small elements (“atoms”) and then fortuitously developed by chance. Rather than embrace randomness, the church praised the Creator, as Origen did: “We Christians, however, who are devoted to the worship of the only God, who created these things, feel grateful for them to him who made them” (Against Celsus, 4.75). It wasn’t until the nineteenth century that the church, faced with many attacks against the authority and truthfulness of Scripture, began to waver on its doctrine of creation. source (I think I've pointed out from at least five different sources that belief in an old earth came after the 19th century, thus making evolution the "new doctrine.) Evolutionists generally claim that a population of animals gradually developed into a population of humans, denying that there was once only one man. However, the Bible presents a very different picture. It says that we originate from one man, Adam. The Bible account presents Adam as a historical person. It gives us the names of his wife and some of his children. It tells us in detail what he did, what he said, when he lived, and when he died. Jesus did not consider that account as just a story for uneducated people. When addressing well-educated religious leaders, he said: “Did you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female?” (Matthew 19:3-5) Jesus then quoted the words about Adam and Eve recorded at Genesis 2:24. Luke, a Bible writer and a careful historian, presented Adam as a person who was as real as Jesus. Luke traced Jesus’ genealogy back to the first man. (Luke 3:23-38) Also, when the apostle Paul spoke before an audience that included philosophers who were educated in the famous Greek schools, he told them: “The God that made the world and all the things in it . . . made out of one man every nation of men, to dwell upon the entire surface of the earth.” (Acts 17:24-26) Clearly, the Bible teaches that we descended from “one man.” source

  26. Evolution is not science. Evolution is a religion of origins based on untestable presumptions. It becomes obvious that most of the great world religions—Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, Hinduism, Animism, etc. are based on evolution. Creationism is the basis of only such systems as Orthodox Judaism, Islam and Biblical Christianity. The liberal varieties of Judaism, Islam, Catholicism and Protestantism, as well as most modern pseudo-Christian cults, are all based on evolution. it is fair to conclude that no truly significant accomplishment of modern science either depends on evolution or supports evolution! Source Also from Genesis 1: 25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. (Note. There is no mention of animals eating each other. In fact, it specifically notes that all living things were vegetarian.) 31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Somehow, you NEVER post the rest of the passage. The truth gets in the way of your false teaching. If I had a dollar for every lie you've posted here I would retire. Adam believed in creation. So did Moses. God wrote on a stone tablet that He created it all in six days. Jesus said man and woman were created from the beginning. Your false religion is the new teaching.

For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect." Yep, love God - Love one another. "Be ye therefore perfect, as your Father,.... This perfection is to be restrained to the subject Christ is upon, love to men, and not to be referred to any, or every other thing; wherefore, in Luke 6:36 it is, "be ye merciful, as your Father also is merciful"; and regards not a perfection of degree in that, but objects and quality: that is to say, not that men may, or can, or ought to be as perfect in love, as to the degree of it, as God is; that is impossible: the "as" here, is not a note of equality, but of likeness: such, who profess God to be their Father, ought to imitate him, particularly in their love to men, which ought to be extended to the same objects, as the divine goodness is; that, as he shows regard in a providential way to all men, good and bad, just and unjust, and his tender mercies are over all his works; so ought they to love all men with a natural affection, and hate no man, no, not their enemies: for he that loves only his friends, and not his enemies, loves imperfectly; he does not take in the whole compass of objects his love is to extend unto; and as God loves sincerely, and without dissimulation, so should they. To be "perfect", is to be sincere and upright: in this sense is the word often used, and answers to the Hebrew word which signifies the same: see Deuteronomy 18:13 which is the passage Christ seems to refer to here; and the sense is, be ye sincere and upright in your love to all men, as your heavenly Father is hearty and sincere in his affections to them."- John Gills, Gills Exposition On The Bible

  31. Hi VA, Just another thought I had. When we say `words,` people can think - `a, it, is, but, however, the, this, etc.` They are words but that is not what Jesus is referring to. The `words` that God speaks are truth, and we interpret those in our language using our alphabet. Jesus is God`s `alphabet,` and we see God`s truth in Him. Jesus even said `I am the Alpha and Omega,` the two ends of the Hebrew alphabet. Thus, every part in between. His Omniscience – “I am the Alpha & Omega,” Christ is the whole alphabet, from whom the entire vocabulary for expressing revealed truth is derived. All the treasures of wisdom & knowledge are in Him. (Col.2:3) There is no such thing as knowledge before Him & there cannot be any beyond Him. Christ, as the Alpha & Omega, is the only way to spiritual secrets, (Rev.2:17) He is the key to unlock the treasures of truth, Himself the interpreter of the invisible, (Rev. 3: 7) & the Door of entrance to eternal enjoyment. (Ps. 16:11 John 10:9)

  36. I like your reference to Mr. Prince. At one time I read his stuff. He seemed to be rather well educated in the subject of deliverance ministries....except that he left out the part where congregations are sheered of their money like sheep. It's all about the money, Mr. Prince. That's all it ever was..... Some fallen angels are being restricted. The Bible uses terms like 'imprisoned' or 'chained'. These are typically ones that are extremely destructive. They will be allowed to do their dirty work for a time....in time.... Other, less powerful, fallen angels still wander the earth in search of human detritus to devour. (see the book of Job and the gospels) Their purpose is rather like vultures that dine on road kill. These spirits devour humans who have deliberately or accidentally become trapped in passions, perversions or enamored of their own lusts and appetites. Some passages in the gospels refer to them as 'unclean spirits'....spirits that make a person feel soiled when these spirits are present. The terms 'demon' and 'unclean spirit' are interchangeable. This 'eating' applies to church types too. Most deny it's possible even when they leave Sunday services and return to lives that are in denial of God's Holy LAW. Visit ANY deliverance ministry service and you'll see dozens of 'church types' who admit to being subject to devouring demons of one sort or another. Church types who are living in rebellion against God have no spiritual protection. NONE. Mr. Prince believed that some spirits were disembodied human spirits. I disagree because there's no such thing as a disembodied human spirit. There are no such things as space aliens. There ARE manifestations of objects and oddities that have no explanation either scientific or religious. The default label that many church types fall back upon is 'demon'. Unfortunately such a simplistic explanation is too thin to satisfy one's curiosity. Something REAL is happening on the earth and it isn't human. I've followed the phenomena since the 1950's and have arrived at the conclusion that ... for better or worse....these things are indigenous to planet Earth. The three major questions that nobody EVER seems able to answer are these: who are they, where are they from and what do they want of us? After nearly seventy years of reading and watching I believe I know the answers. The problem is that nobody wants to know the answers. Everybody wants to pretend ET wants what we want and that just isn't so. (John 3:19) that's me, hollering from the choir loft... (Isaiah 6:9-10)

That command was to save me and its never changed. Now are there things with in His word Gen-Rev that help me listen to my best friend my savior my GOD? To many to number

  43. The pastor at the Calvary church this morning, My mom had the live stream on, He said that Amazon is the cause of putting all of the Christian bookstores out of business. And Amazon bans religious books and religious authors sometimes. When I was in a Christian book store for the last time, The lady working there said that people will come in to the shop, shop around the store, Then go home and find it for less money online and order it there. So, Amazon is one of the reasons why there is no more Christian bookstores. Barnes n Nobles selection of Bibles is limited. Like, there are virtually none there. For a first time Christian, or someone who has no faith, By looking at the country and what you see driving around yourself, There are no Christian bookstores. There are no Bibles virtually little to no Bibles in the only bookstore left in America. This is Christians also doing this to this country. Shop local. And support small business. Never use a company like that, to browse their merchandise and find it cheaper online.

  44. Jesus isn't giving you burdens to make your life harder. He is giving you communion with God, to make your life easier, and peaceful. Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

  47. No, I ignore every translation that ignores how the Hebrew words are used elsewhere. This has nothing to do with agreeing with me. It has EVERYTHING to do with how Hebrew words are translated elsewhere. You are really missing the boat. Since I GAVE you several English translations that treat "tohu" properly, your comment here is just a big FAT LIE. Here they are again. American Standard Version And the earth was waste and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Aramaic Bible in Plain English The Earth was chaos and empty and darkness on the faces of the depths and the Spirit of God hovered on the faces of the waters. Brenton Septuagint Translation But the earth was unsightly and unfurnished, and darkness was over the deep, and the Spirit of God moved over the water. English Revised Version And the earth was waste and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep: and the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Young's Literal Translation the earth hath existed waste and void, and darkness is on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God fluttering on the face of the waters, 5 translations that treat "tohu" correctly. So please quit lying about the facts. Go ahead and show me from Biblehub.com that these translations say anything differently. Since you prefer to believe that any of these translations are describing original creation, your view of God is rather pathetic. He doesn't create anything that is "unsightly", or "wasted", or in "chaos". Psa 33:6 and 9 tells us that God spoke everything into existence. And He didn't have for "reform" anything while He was creating out of nothing. Then prove it. Cite the links and quote what these so-called unbelievers and Bible critics say. I'm defending the Bible, those whom you allegedly note certainly aren't doing that. So go ahead and prove what you claim. Which unbeliever/bible critic was teaching you any of this? Certainly the Bible supports itself because the Bible is inerrant. But you hold tightly to the absurd contradiction between the TT and Isa 45:18. Aren't you able to see the glaring contradiction? Everything I've shown is from Scripture, in the original, all of which you reject. All you have is many English translations of Gen 1:2, which contradict Isa 45:18 and aren't even close to how "tohu wabohu" are used in Jer 4:23 and Isa 34:11. It is YOU who aren't supported by Scriptures. Just lousy or lazy English translations. I don't care what you opinion is. The verb in the exact same form IS translated elsewhere as "became". It seems you are allergic to the original language, or something. Just the original Hebrew, but go ahead and ignore the FACTS. Vague question. Read what? I've read ALL the English translations on biblehub and gave you 5 that AGREE with how "tohu" should be translated. Since all you read are English translations, and blatantely ignore the Hebrew words, your mind is closed to FACTS. To your loss. There is no way to defend a translation that ignores how the Hebrew words are translated elsewhere. Thats where scholarship begins. And you haven't even started yet.

  48. Thanks for the recommendation. I've found myself considering it lately so we'll see. I like the idea of being multilingual from a programming perspective.

  49. The flesh does get weary . . . I've found if I don't have strength to make it through something I can say something like, "Father, I am not feeling up to this task. I ask for energy to do this and according to Your will. May the Spirit of life in Christ be flowing through me for this endeavor." It never fails, that at the end of the day I look back and express gratefulness to Him for supplying me with His grace (aka favored supply)!
