Would you want a wife that had no free will and could not freely choose to love you or not?

God does not want Stepford wives.

LOL, Personally I would not want a wife who would refuse the best love she could ever have, and the best gifts she could ever get, and eternal happiness, because she would be a total, idiot and ungrateful, ;) . It is not as though a better offer is going to come along. It is not as though God is taking people against their will, people who do not love Him. On the contrary, He loves them first, those He choses, and then they love Him back, He did not force them to love, they respond in love, although perhaps it is impossible not to respond with love. If we have been given a heart of flesh, how can we hate the One who loves us. Loving, has becone part of our nature, when we have been born from above. Before we are born from above, we are not yet Spititually alive. Everyone who can actually see what God is offering, really see, undestand, and believe it, will accept His offer. Apart from His action though. people cannot understand, for they are blind, deaf, dead, hard hearted and in bondage, understanding the gospel, at the heart level, is Spiritually discerned.

10as it is written,
            “THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE;

      11THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS,
            THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD;

      12ALL HAVE TURNED ASIDE, TOGETHER THEY HAVE BECOME USELESS;
            THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD,
            THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE.”

Romans 3, quoting Psa 14 and 53 maybe

From the above description of mankind's condition, we can see how it is only by His grace, that any will ever be saved. No one deserves to be.

Apart from God's actions, we cannot come to Him. He is offering life, not trying to coerce anyone to be His. He already owns the creation, the only thing that differs between one view and the other, is one holds that the creation belongs to God, that He is sovereign and can choose what He wants to do with it as He sees fit, the other view is that we play a part in out own salvation, a view that appeals to our pride. At least, that is how I have come to see it.

From Romans 9:

9 For this is the word of promise: “AT THIS TIME I WILL COME, AND SARAH SHALL HAVE A SON.” 10 And not only this, but there was Rebekah also, when she had conceived twins by one man, our father Isaac; 11 for though the twins were not yet born and had not done anything good or bad, so that God’s purpose according to His choice would stand, not because of works but because of Him who calls, 12 it was said to her, “THE OLDER WILL SERVE THE YOUNGER.” 13Just as it is written, “JACOB I LOVED, BUT ESAU I HATED.”
 14 What shall we say then? There is no injustice with God, is there? May it never be! 15 For He says to Moses, “I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOM I HAVE COMPASSION.” 16 So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy. 17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “FOR THIS VERY PURPOSE I RAISED YOU UP, TO DEMONSTRATE MY POWER IN YOU, AND THAT MY NAME MIGHT BE PROCLAIMED THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE EARTH.” 18 So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires.
 19 You will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who resists His will?” 20 On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, “Why did you make me like this,” will it? 21 Or does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for common use? 22 What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? 23 And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory, 24even us, whom He also called, not from among Jews only, but also from among Gentiles.

Opinions vary, and I have to admit, I did not see the strength of the argument from scripture of a" God chooses" view for the first 30 something years of my life as a Christian, but now I repent in dust and ashes for not seeing what was there in spades.

I do not see (anymore) why this is hard to understand, it is only hard for us to accept.

i personally chose Him.......    did he make me choose him......    I don't know.......    do I care.....    nope don't give a little tinkers dam for the outcome for me is the same....             I certainly can't puff myself up and take any credit for being saved, so at this point in time it really doesn't make any difference at all.

Yes but does that mean we simply do them like a programmed robot?...

Is a programmed robot made in the image of God, as are we?

Just because God knew before I was born that I would choose to follow Jesus and thus knew my destination would be eternity with Him (predestined) does not mean that God chose me and not my neighbour (so to speak). For some reason everyone assumes predestination means your will is taken from you, only the destination for believers and non believers is predestined. Free will is ours because God does not choose who will go where or do what. We choose Jesus or deny Him.

I believe Scripture teaches that the choice is ours to make, although GOD knew in advance how we would choose. HE put HIS salvation plan in the stars and in everyone's heart. Then HE gave us the power to choose for ourselves. Few have chosen the narrow path; most have chosen to go their own way.

It is called the protoevangelium. The gospel of salvation told in the stars...from the birth of the Saviour to the destruction of Satan. That is why man even though he did not have a Bible knew that a redeemer was coming and that there was a God/Redeemer..the Gospel told in the zodiac (Mazzaroth) or stars.

 I know this ,but not from the protoevangelium, but from Jesus Himself  . I never knew this before from anyone ,as they dont teach you such things in the RCC . How wonderful . I thought I had to keep it a secret ,now I don't .

HERE IS A QUESTION ? And  IT IS ,IN THE TEXTED OF DID WE CHOOSE TO FOLLOW ,AND STUMBLE ON GOD, one day,BY A SITUATION, OR BY CHANCE OR BY SEEKING FOR HIM OUT OF THE BLUE ?

OR DID HE CHOOSE US FROM THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE EARTH PRIOR TO US COMING TO HIM AS BELIEVERS ?

IS IT  FAIR TO SAY THAT GOD ALREADY KNEW WHO WAS TO FOLLOW HIM AND WE JUST HAPPEN TO GET THERE?

IS THE HOLY SPIRIT SEARCHING OUR BEINGS FROM THE INSIDE OUT TO KNOW WHO WILL COME TO GOD AND REPENT?

its like what came first the egg or the chicken?

have we always been about god through our spirit , and it was just a matter of time to abide and fully surrender to him, ?

sorry about the caps, I am not yelling I just love caps, its a habit I am working on.

  Matthew 22:14   For many are called, but few are chosen.

John 6:44   No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

If we believe in the creation we believe that the chicken came first! ;)

 In the Stars ? :emot-questioned:

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. Psalm 19:1-4 (NIV)

And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,.....Gen 1:14 (NIV)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
