Was it a thread you started and you changed your own mind?

Ha very good. Truth is yes for me; I have  started a thread, come back to it months later after learning some things from others and found I had changed my mind about my own posts. Other times I have said to myself who the heck wrote that  and how did they get to use my avatar?

Thank you for this thread.

My focus must change to defending truth and protecting lambs.

Not fighting others.

Making sure the truth is clearly stated so lambs know there is a different way, and can ask Holy Spirit to guide them through.

Debating is good, if it is done in the right spirit. I have been a Christian 32 years, but I never realized how much of a legalist I was until I read BB's comments. So listening does help the listener if he is paying attention to what he is hearing. If it comes from the Holy Spirit, He can make known what is unclear to a believer. Everyday I can learn more, if I choose. If others say things I am not used to hearing, or say things that are offensive, I can look in the mirror without cringing, or bragging. I can learn from others. I believe human beings are always calling attention to themselves. If I kept moving my arms one way or another, and nothing is wrong with them, people might think, and rightly so, there must be something wrong with them. We do not call attention to the things that are working right. Jesus knows we are not working right. "Why am I always being snubbed"? "Why are my feelings hurt"? "Why does he have more than me"? "Why do they tell her she looks pretty and not 'me'"? We always call attention to ourselves when things are not working right. When I saw a concert once, the performer did a great job---a fantastic job. Everyone leapt to their feet and applauded wildly, giving him a standing ovation. The problem is, it doesn't last. He will ask, like all performers, "Wow! What am I going to do now? What will they expect of me next week? How much more will they want from me next performance"? He is always calling attention to himself. If I am working right, I don't have to worry about it. Hopefully, I want to be more and more like Jesus---who is always working right. I won't ever have to worry about my performance before others. Jesus gives me the standing ovation I need, regardless of my performance. Now that is off the charts!

I realize that many of the debates I have with people on this site is pointless. No one ever seems to change what they believe to be true no matter what facts, or scripture is shown to them.  But the reason why I continue to debate topics is to take a stand against things that I do not agree with. I know that I am not going to change the mind of the person posting the thread.  But other people read this stuff. People who may not post or just wonder in here and read stuff. If someone is saying something that I believe to be false, and no one says anything about it. Someone reading it might think it is true.  And be lead astray. Maybe if they see others are questing the post. Then they can read through the replies and see why a post is not lining up with the word of God or whatever it maybe. That is why I debate topics that I feel need to be debated.

Blessings LadyK

Honestly I don't even like the word"debate",I really don't.....& I never thought of you as the "debating" type but I do see that you do challenge the beliefs you disagree with, which is great....as @OneLightmentioned,in agreement with you that these discussions are not really meant (or desighned)to change someones mind ....I agree with you too,its more about the people not posting ,the ones who are truly hoping to rightly divide Gods Word....

Thanks for sharing                                                                       With love-in Christ<Kwik

PS My favorite post was by @Neighbor,that Brother has to be one of the  most transparent ,sincere guys I ever met.....and just too add my 2 cents,I've changed my mind over the years about some things because of Worthy Discussions, there are times I have also looked back & said "Who wrote that?"There are still some things I wouldn't say I am 100% positive about until further notice, lol

It is most difficult to have those type of discussions here on Worthy, there is only a very select few you can have great conversations like that because there are really some things we just won't know until we are as Christ is in Heaven in our new Glorified bodies, very few will admit that truth!!!!

LOL! I don't remember who started it. But it was about a popular evangelist (don't want to say the name and derail my own thread)  I felt they were okay to listen too. I didn't find any issue with their teaching. But then someone disagreed with me on their teaching being okay.  So I looked into their teaching a little more.  Then I began to see that  what they were teaching  was not okay and questionable.  I decided to no longer listen to this evangelist.   That is what happen. :)

I dont think anyone can change someone opinions.  But the holy spirit alone can bring truth and awaken someone and then there views will be different or not.

In a debate, I agree, but in a true honest discussion seeds are planted.  I do agree that only the Holy Spirit can and will show someone the truth of the matter.  Question is if the person listening to Him?

I could be wrong about everything I think.I could be mistaken in every post that I have ever typed on this stupid I-Pad of mine——- but I would not bet on it!  I am staking the Eternal Souls Of myself, my wife and my daughter on the Belief that what I think is Biblical Truth That has been properly discerned and acted upon.

I Believe in “ Nothing But The Blood” For Salvation . This squares with the Gospel Of Pure Grace, Given personally to Paul by Jesus in the Sinai Desert. It was Jesus personal “lets take 3 years to get the “ Pharisee” out of this Guy” schooling Given by Jesus Himself.

The Gospel  Found In 1Cor15:1-4 is Promised by Jesus it be the Gospel That Saves, If simply believed, if simply obeyed, if not ADDED to and if TRUSTED to the point that you REST in it .It ALONE ! The Gospel proclaims That Jesus died for your  sins and rose from the dead. Jesus had the chance to tell Paul ANYTHING when Paul was being “ Schooled” in the Desert . I see no mention of “ Repentance.” If Your mind has been changed from NOT Trusting the Gospel Of Jesus to save you, to putting your Faith in that Gospel as God’s Way Of Salvation....you have done the only  ONE TIME Type Of “ Repentance” That plays a Role in your Salvation.

Paul’s Gospel allows NO ROOM for Human Merit ( THAT is Religion), and that is why it is “ foolishness” to both the Tare and the Religionist. The Gospel is WHAT GOD DID FOR MAN..... N O T  what Man can do for God.

I know that I sound like a broken record as I keep preaching 1Cor15:1-4. Sorry, but I don’t give a “rat’s  patootie” about that. We all need a sturdy Anchor that we can grab hold of during times of insecurity and we need something to “ shut the mouths” of the spreaders  Of Leaven , and those that go beyond Nothing But The Blood for Salvation ( The Foundation that underpins The Gospel Of Grace) Of course those That are Blind to the Things Of God , will never “ shut their mouths.” Paul said that HIS GOSPEL is what you are going to be judged by when you stand before God on Judgment Day.The Legalist who says, “ YES! Of course Jesus Saves...B U T once you know that you have to ....( insert your pet Dead Work here, usually repentance from all sins before you die) Yes, It is True that the Modern -Day Judaizer will not shut his mouth in the here and now. There will be time for that in Judgement Day, when he finally and tragically discovers that God never wanted a  “ Co-Savior.” May God bless us all in the understanding of these things...........................

P.S.   I failed to mention that I use the Tares and Religionists that are found here at Worthy as valuable “ Springboards” to get the Truth Of The Gospel out to Newbies In The hope that they do not get Ruined with a Crippled Walk Of FAITH before they even get started- they are not getting from the VAST MAJORITY of churches that I am familiar with......

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
