I can see why they would do so. I use to love to fly when I was a child also. My parents let me have the window seat and I was enthralled the whole flight. White sun kissed fluffy clouds that at times were so dense it looked like you could get out and walk across. Now, rather than flying being a right if you have the money for the ticket, it is relegated to a privilege. You still need the money for the ticket but, you have to agree to be radiated, felt up by women who had they done that to you anywhere else you could have them arrested for offensive touching. You can no longer lock your check-in baggage because it's a security risk. So don't ever put anything of value in because there's no guarantee it will still be there when you pick up the bag from the carousel. And at check in if you don't use the do-it-yourself unit, when your ID is run anything and everything can come up on the screen that the agent alone sees. America is very slowly being migrated into a Communist state. Government agents with the executive branch believe they can assault even kill us at will, and suffer no consequences. Which is why I believe very soon there will be a new airline policy across the board prohibiting phones on flights. Capturing evidence of passenger abuse, as in this pending lawsuit, will prove too costly for the carriers as a whole. A policy arrived at if/when one carrier makes news paying a Doctor millions right behind the Chicago police and their settlement with him. It's a tragedy. Security measures that we're told are to insure flight safety and here we are the paying passengers being treated as if we're presumed terrorists before we even arrive at the check-in. And the booty that TSA personnel get to divey up among themselves after seizing it at the check-point, check-point, reminds me of WW2 movies wherein people were fleeing the terrorists only to encounter military who demanded their papers, because some TSA official claimed it was a security threat to the flight. I think it was 60 Minutes years ago that had an investigative report on that. A gold fingernail clipper was seized, along with very expensive other stuff. When the reporter, I think it was Steve Kroft, asked what happened with all those many many items, the supervisor of the TSA said at the end of the year near Christmas TSA employees could come in and take their pick. Boy was that incentive to claim a gold fingernail clipper was a security threat or what? I bought a gold clipper after seeing that just to see what would transpire on my next flight. The lady agent looked at it and said that it could be construed as a weapon. It was November. Christmas just around the corner. I looked her in the eyes and said quite directly, my dear woman, if anyone on a flight I'm on decides to try to hijack using a fingernail clipper and that so called weapon doesn't become a suppository in their person immediately, I'll personally reimburse every passenger on the plane their ticket cost. And then I smiled. I kept that clipper. With President Trump in charge for the next four years I feel relatively safe. But I do fear what will transpire in the next ten with how aggressive members of the executive branch, police, are becoming. And it's escalating more and more as more and more offenses on their part are brought to our attention. And only because we have the power to record them in the process of their criminal actions.

When did essential doctrine become an 'ism', creation is a core Judaeo Christian doctrine. We have no reason as Christians to shy away from the historical narrative that the doctrine is based on. There are a lot of ways to go with this but I can sum up the first point with three words, 'created', 'made' and 'set'. There is a progression of thought in the Biblical account, certain things were 'created', the idea being a new creation generally being understood to be from nothing (ex nihilo). Then there is 'made' which is something made from something else, that's kind of an oversimplification but still the general idea. Then there is set where God makes adjustments to certain aspects and elements. It's commonly believed among creationists that the sun was created on day 4 but a closer look at the words and phrases used indicates that God was simply adjusting the 'firmament' to make the lights in the sky visible on a regular basis from the surface of the earth. The Genesis Account of Creation: Thought I would post up some of my notes from my studies of Genesis 1. One interesting point is that there are three different words used to describe God's activities during creation week. Just hoping someone might take an interest in a more detailed exposition of the text. Day 1: God 'lets' the light in, thus creating the first day (Gen. 1:4). Day 2: God creates the upper atmosphere, called the 'firmament' (Gen. 1:7). Day 3: God separates the land from the seas and creates plant life (Gen. 1:10). Day 4: God then, 'sets', the heavenly lights in the visible sky (Gen. 1:17). Day 5: God creates the birds of the air and marine life (Gen. 1:21). Create ‘bara’ (H1254) - 'This verb has profound thological significance, since it has only God as it’s subject. Only God can create in the sense implied by bara. Finally, in the closing verses, it is used three times for the creation of Adam and Eve (Gen. 1:27). "The verb, which occurs over 2600 times in the Old Testament, is used as a synonym for “create” only about 60 times…only when asah is parallel to bara…can we be sure that it implies creation." (Vine 52). Then there is a third term when God 'set' (nathan H2414), the lights of the sun, moon and stars so that their light is reqularly visible from the surface of the earth. In this way the narrative shifts from the very precise word for 'created' to the more general 'made', and then the much broader use of 'set'. Set (nathan H5414) A primitive root; to give, used with greatest latitude of application (Gen 1:17, Gen 9:13, Gen 18:8, Gen 30:40, Gen 41:41). Elsewhere translated ‘put’, ‘make’, ‘cause’, etc. The creation account has great significance for the rest of Scripture and how these terms are used in the original and their natural context is essential to really following the text as it was intended to be understood. Original Sin Accepting human evolution from that of apes is not only a rejection of the Pauline doctrine of original sin, it's a myth of human ancestry. When the New Testament writers mention Adam they speak of him as the first man and the reason why all of us are under the curse of sin and death. Paul tells us that 'by one man sin entered the world' and 'by one man's offense death reigned'. (Rom 5:12-19). Paul ties Adam directly to the need for justification and grace in his exposition of the Gospel in his letter to the Romans. Luke lists Adam in his genealogy calling him 'son of God' indicating he had no human parents but rather was created (Luke 3:23-28). My concern is simply this, the myth of human lineage linked to ape ancestry contradicts the clear testimony of Scripture and essential doctrine, specifically justification by faith. Paul is clear that all have sinned in Adam and that is the reason that we cannot keep the Mosaic law. To receive Christ as Savior and Lord is to worship him as Creator. According to Paul: Sin came as the result of, 'many died by the trespass of the one man' (Rom. 5:15), 'judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation' (Rom. 5:16), the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man (Rom. 5:17), 'just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men' (Rom. 5:18), 'through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners' (Rom. 5:19). The Bible is a book of history and our true lineage is found there, not in the modern mythology of Darwinian evolution. Essential doctrine is at stake and while you can accept evolution as natural history in part rejecting the creation of Adam and original sin runs contrary to sound doctrine. Accepting human evolution is not a rejection of orthodoxy but the rejection of the creation of Adam and original sin definitely is. Believing that land dwelling creatures became amphibians, transposed into whales and dolphins are certainly interesting ideas but would have no bearing on doctrinal issues. The doctrine of justification by faith has a central focus, the sin of Adam and it's inextricably linked to special creation. The book of Romans tells us that God's invisible attributes and eternal nature have been clearly seen but we exchanged the truth of God for a lie (Rom 1:21,22). As a result the Law of Moses and the law of our own conscience bears witness against us, sometimes accusing, sometimes defending (Rom 2:15). We all sinned but now the righteousness of God has been revealed to be by faith through Christ (Rom 3:21). Abraham became the father of many nations by faith and the supernatural work of God (Rom 4:17). Through one man sin entered the world and through one man righteousness was revealed (Rom 5:12). It looks something like this in Romans, taken chapter by chapter: Exchanging the truth of God for a lie, the creature for the Creator. Both the Law and our conscience make our sin evident and obvious. All sinned, but now the righteousness of God is revealed in Christ. Abraham's lineage produced by a promise and a miracle through faith. Through one man sin entered the world and death through sin. Just as Christ was raised from the dead we walk in newness of life. The law could not save but instead empowered sin to convict. Freed from the law of sin and death (Adamic nature) we're saved The Scriptures offer an explanation for man's fallen nature, how we inherited it exactly is not important but when Adam and Eve sinned we did not fast. This is affirmed in the New Testament in no uncertain terms by Luke in his genealogy, in Paul's exposition of the Gospel in Romans and even Jesus called the marriage of Adam and Eve 'the beginning'. Now I realize I have dumped a ton of stuff in the opening post and this is a casual discussion forum. It's just that what this comes down to are two worldviews competing in this controversy, as Bible believing Christians ours is a Biblical one. I've poured over the scientific literature, philosophy, history even sociology and came to one core conviction, Creationism is an exercise in evidential apologetics. When attempting to defend the Bible as being true and reliable history it becomes essential to realize, the Bible is primary source material, at least, in a Judaeo Christian context. The trend in the Church, both Protestant and Catholic, has been toward Intelligent Design. The reason for it is some times scientific but essentially theological. At some point you are going to have to decide what you are going to stand on because the Theory of Evolution and the Bible as Redemptive history are clearly in conflict. You have to wonder what is at stake here because it's more then a philosophy of history, essential Christian doctrine is at stake. These christians already have salvation. Why do you think they're called believers?

It's not just about the man, but about everyone who saw what happened. If it weren't for those observers, this would only be his word against the airlines and I would submit that this is going through both their minds as well as the minds of the airline executives. It is these people that will cause the most damage to the airlines, because it will be they that will be the core of the class action lawsuit that will surly be taken up because of the mental stresses that they will claim. It doesn't matter if it is real or not, but seeing the way public sentiment is today, this will certainly come to pass.

Lol Neighbour She's a mum who let's her son explore his creative side and gives him "room" to do that - a lot of mums would want cleanliness and order rather than a room full of a teens imaginative doodlings. She reminds me of a mum in Australia that had sons and let them use knives and things like thatat a young age where other boys were playing with toy trucks - at 16 years of age, she gave him permission to sail solo around the world. This woman too was unorthadox in her raising and I think her sons would be thankful of it.

Well from the peanut gallery: I was surprised at first that we would have her being so open as to discuss the family routine regarding anything. Then I thought, how very Japanese. And finally I thought none of that seems to follow Bible advice, though I don't remember a specific verse about drawing on walls. So I did the proper thing. No, I did not go to my Bible. I went to the internet, and asked of it to show all Bible verses that pertain to the raising of children. I read those online, and then read the adjacent or immediately surrounding passages in my Bible, and then, and then, I went on a chain of parallel thought and had myself a fine study. My conclusion was as I posted, that she seems to be doing what would be an antithesis of Christian Bible references about raising children. -And I guess especially based upon what I witness from the wonderful parents and ministry leaders of the young children's choir at church, so do most Christian parents. Only rather than drawing on walls it is Play Dough in the carpets and on table tops, along with lots of crayon on the folding table tops-so far. I find the kids actually on tables and into most everything when they are not actively singing. And I wonder, are they like that at home? Hmm, bet they are! Kids are being raised more Japanese style perhaps. At any rate I love it, in that the kids are learning music, learning Jesus is their Lord, and parents they are actively interested in their kids well being. So what if I can't get the playdough out of the carpet, and ya know some of the drawings on the tables they are not bad at all, kind of in a primitive way. Hey, it is a living for me as I guess it is for some painter at any of the Tump's domains. Only difference might be I favor the steam cleaner over painting. So whose business is it? I responded to your post with the dignity that I hold for you and for this man. He is an adult who was victimized by the TSA before he boarded the plane and by the airline itself after he boarded. No one deserves to be arbitrarily picked by those who have no idea of the business you are on by flying to your destination. No one knows what this person had been going through or the pressures that was on his mind.

I would like to tell you that Jesus loves you, and He died on the cross and paid the penalty for your sins. Rom 10:9 is the only way to become saved. Rom 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

the navy was tracking something just off the coast by San Diego late last week. Problem is that they can legally get 12 miles away and nothing we are going to do about it.... Pop up launch missiles and try to hide...... but the damage is done. They would have to sneak up on us, but it's happened without launching missiles that I know of a half dozen times over the last 25 years. It's almost never talked about on the news

N Korea will not be the push overs that the middle east has been. We should approach this crazy person with that same caution we would any animal that can kill. We don't really know what war tools China and Russia has shared with them...... and there are the subs that they have that can get weapons close enough to the coast to damage several west coast cities. They have massive amounts of artillery close enough to the southern border to reach St Korean cities. They can do much damage before we even have a chance to stop them. It's going to be a fine line to get them to stop the nuclear program without pushing the little fat guy over the edge.

In all of scripture, there is only once where the Holy Spirit placed a seed into a woman's womb, as seed from God. This in itself is proof enough as God, the same God who created everything, can, and did, create a new person in Christ where He was not given the same sinful nature of Adam. This does not exclude Jesus flesh to desire the same as all other flesh, but His spirit was pure.

So, basically he is saying that he will keep the numbers low so not to appear as an invasive force. I can understand that. "Predestination?" No, that is not why children go to heaven when they die. Yes, GOD does know who will and will not accept Christ as their Savior. But that is foreknowledge on the part of GOD, not predestination. Scripture teaches us, in Romans 8:28-30 "And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers. And those He predestined He also called, those He called He also justified, those He justified He also glorified." First come the foreknowledge, then the predestination. The reason that children go to heaven is because until they understand the law and the sin nature, they, because of GOD's Justice, are not held responsible and therefore have not sinned in the eyes of GOD. God is love and His concern for children is evident in Matthew 18:14 where Jesus says, “Your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.” People go to hell because they choose in willful rebellion and unbelief to reject God and His grace. Children are incapable of this kind of conscious rejection of God. Where such rebellion and willful disobedience is absent, God is gracious to receive.

Hi AsstRoadmaster, It is good that you are seeing your need. You are not covering it up but being real. My thoughts are - 1. Wrong thoughts & speaking. - You need to get rid of the `cuss a lot.` That is actually a big hindrance from you hearing God. Repent, say sorry for doing that & ask God to help you bit by bit to change that. - The` I`m not good enough` thinking shows that you don`t realise what Jesus has done for you. You or any of us are never `good enough` it is ONLY by Jesus sacrifice that we are forgiven. You need to thank Him daily for His sacrifice for you that will save you from hell & give you eternal life which none of us deserve. - `taking God`s blessings of family etc for granted.` You need to also daily start to thank God for your family & pray for them that they also learn to know God & walk in His ways. 2. Renewing you faith. This comes about as you develop a humble, thankful heart, & learn to be specific for what you are saying. God will surprise you as you start to appreciate what He has done for you & is doing. You will grow more sensitive to His ways & His voice.` praying for you, Marilyn.

An unbeliever does not feel the guilt of sin, because he does not believe in God and Jesus Christ, whom God sent to be the redeemer of sinful man. We inherited that sin from our first parents and every man since is guilty of that sin. When we believe and come to see the nature of sin and what Jesus Christ has done for us to free us from that guilt, then we are no longer slaves to sin. But we do live in this fallen world and we are of flesh and blood and has an enemy that hates us and wants to entangles us back to sinful desires which we formerly was consistent with. As a new believer, you rejoice in the fact that your sins are paid for and while we may commit sinful acts that is not deliberate, we are not to go around holding that guilt. When we do commit willful sinful act, then, yes we are to repent and ask God to forgive us of those sins, as God hates sin. But know this, the Christian, be it new or whatever status, we are made righteous through Christ and his righteousness.
