  2. Looks like enough confirmation on that. I think it appears to be a skin tight blouse. More color to confirm it is one is obviously in order. Sorry, no offense to the optser. These cartoons do bash the guys, but trash the women. I find it in inappropriate taste.

  3. Being modest is wearing loose woman's jeans instead of skin tight tights. I really don't mind a Scotsman wearing his kilt even if he has knobby knees. In Jesus' day the only separating woman and mens clothing was that a man had fringes or tassels on the corners of his robe if I remember right. So I always proclaim that there are no tassels on my bath robe. Men in our church wear jeans or hiking shorts, a clean shirt and either tennis shoes, sandals or boots. That way people are not dressing to be seen by people and all are made to feel welcome even if they can't afford formal clothing. God doesn't look at the outward appearance but looks at our hearts.

Winter day For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. Psalm Eighty Four:11 ◄ Psalm Eighty Four ► King James Bible Par ▾ {To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.} How Lovely Are Your Dwellings! 1How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! 2My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God. 3Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God. 4Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah. 5Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them. 6Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools. 7They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God. 8O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah. 9Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed. 10For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. 11For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. 12O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee. 6. Celebrities Gal 2:6 As for those who seemed to be important— whatever they were makes no difference to me; God does not judge by external appearance— those men added nothing to my message. While the Christian community throughout history has been obsessed with "celebrities", there should be no one person who is reckoned more important than another. And everyone should be subject to scrutiny. Religious elitism has been the norm for all sects - Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, Evangelical, Charismatic. All have their celebrities they treat as if infallible. Consequently you will find aspects of the gospel which have been corrupted in all these denomination sects as the opinions of their celebrities are not allowed to be scrutinized in light of scripture. Paul didn't allow such a thing in his ministry. No matter how "important" a person is thought to be by their followers. Later Paul even rebuked the apostle Peter for his man-fear of such "important" people. There should be no room for pride in the Christian community. "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves." And God opposes the proud." Nonetheless the history of Christianity, even in the church at Jerusalem, is full of proud Christians, adding on their own regulations to the gospel, whether it be padeobaptism, ceremonial works, or the like. 8. I honestly don't think that is the issue ladykay, I am more inclined to think that there is too much focus on what others are doing. Like the pic in the op. Its easy to point out the flaws in others while ignoring our own. To me, it comes down to the saying... “do as I tell you to, think as I tell you to. Not as I do “ Our job isn't to be clothing police, or morality cops and brow beat people into biblical submission to our way of thinking. But to share the gospel. So my question to some of these folks... is... which is a bigger problem. Unbelief in the savior or a woman wearing pants.

We all are sinners in need of God's merciful grace, and made righteous by His blood. Every one of us comes by way of the cross by faith.

  11. Lol, I would say that about the movie as well. I never saw the whole thing--turned it off in disgust. It was afterward that I was amazed that God could use it in my Sis in law's life but was grateful. Sometimes I believe He closes our ears to that which is false and opens them to the things we need to hear. He did that for me when I was in various denominations and may be doing it now, for all I know. It is the Holy Spirit wh0 teaches us, after all.

  13. Wednesday 3-4-20, Adar 8, 5780 4th. day of the weekly cycle, 75th. Winter day The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men. Psalm Thirty Three:13 Psalm Thirty Three:1-22 GOD Considers All Man's Works: 1 Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. 2 Praise the Lord with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings. 3 Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise. 4 For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth. 5 He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. 6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. 7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. 8 Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. 9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. 10 The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect. 11 The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. 13 The Lord looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men. 14 From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth. 15 He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works. 16 There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength. 17 An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength. 18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; 19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. 20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield. 21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. 22 Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee. Love always, Walter and Debbie

  15. For the last eighty years, Hollywood has churned our Biblical Epics and films that have opened the hearts of the lost and the imaginations of the saints. These films have been as massive as Cecile B. DeMille”s The Ten Commandments and Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ to the private budget films like “God’s Not Dead,” and “War Room.” Christian cinema has changed our culture, by giving the world a moving picture, living paintings and these canvases made of pixels, directors, actors, actressses, screen plays, props and more have been able to get the Bible, the Gospel and Judeo-Christian concepts to an audience that never would attend a church or go to art gallery. Biblical movies have opened the Bible to us in ways that reading Scripture couldn’t. Much like the stain glass of the Middle Ages and the paintings through the ages, movies give us a visual education of the faith. While certainly there is much to criticize in adaptions if the Bible, you may vent those in this new section. Let us remember that while we should confront errors in film with the scripture (2 Timothy 3:16) we should also be open to the postives of how films can help us see what we read and appreciate those gems of insight that unfold on the silver screens. Scripture is gold, movies are silver and in some cases bronze.

  19. Hello! Typically when evangelizing and debating about other religions there's some level of attempting to build common ground instead of jumping straight to "You're following a false religion that's taking you to Hell.". These days it's standard practice to just speak of our beliefs and move on to the next person or group. There's no force involved. One could make the case that simply speaking of one's beliefs and moving on DOES respect the religion and rights of others. The other person is free to agree or disagree. But also, consider this. One of the key teachings of Buddhism is right speech, which I understand to be a combination of being truthful and being gentle with our words. In Christianity we have commandments which fill a similar role: "Thou shalt not bear false witness" (Don't tell lies) and "Love your neighbor (meaning other people) as you love yourself". Combine this with the Christian teachings that Jesus is the only way to salvation and that we have only one life to choose Heaven or Hell. If we as Christians try to deny or change those elements of our faith to suit others then we would be in violation of both our commandment to be truthful and our commandment to love others. It would be disrespectful to both Jesus, the central figure of our religion, and to the person we're speaking to. The love and compassion we ought to feel for others means we need to at least try to gently correct others who are on ANY self destructive path. In ideal circumstances the need to be truthful is combined with wisdom that enables us to know the right time and the right approach to use when we need to present elements of our faith that could ruffle feathers. Humans aren't perfect, though, so we don't always hit the mark. Hope this helps!

  20. Peter also mentions that the ones bringing DIVISION and bad DOCTRINE are likened to the 'angels that sinned'... and they sinned long before the flood when there was NO ISRAEL... These purveyors of FALSE DOCTRINE are to be treated like the holy watchers (Gen 6) that descended on Mt. Hermon and really got dumb humans to sin greatly and taught them ways to destroy themselves and the hidden arts. Every one knew these events. Well, everyone except our modern church..

  21. It is pointless to maintain the odd idea that these books were only written to Israel. It is OBVIOUS they are written to believers and those they were evangelizing. 'All Israel will be saved' INCLUDES all believers... We are of the 'seed of Abraham' and are ALL included in the Abrahamic covenants... To say otherwise is to cause division and a hopeless and Theo-political dichotomy.

  27. Wow, I'm sorry Willa. Somehow I posted an Oy Vey on this. My mom also bought this album for me, and though musically I didn't care for it, I did start to think about Jesus. Perhaps it was because in the movie production, the homosexual community cheered at Judas kissing Christ during the betrayal scene. Then in his overwrought feelings and Judas hung himself, I believe they rose him up in the air as if almost like a resurrection type of thing, and the choir was singing, "Good bye, Judas - Poor, poor, Judas." It was clearly on the record. I remember it thinking it was weird. And right after the death of Jesus, that was the end of the film. And Jesus was portrayed as a mere man with an almost lunacy about His persona. There were so many doctrinally things wrong with it, but it that worked for you sister in-law, then it's positive. Again, my apologies for that. I just now removed the Oy Vey at seeing the topic again. That seemed harsh of me. I didn't mean it to be.

  36. It helps me to know that Jesus empathizes with my suffering because He suffered so much more. He is at the right hand of our Father and is praying for me. He understands what I am going through. That gives me hope and comfort. It also helps to know that there is an end to my suffering, and it will be no more suffering and no more tears. So I try to keep my eyes on the prize of being with Him someday. When I am really hurting I remind myself to thank and praise Him because He is always faithful and is a God who cannot lie. He is worthy of my praise even when I don't feel like it. He never changes. Worshipping God brings me out of myself and helps me see the larger picture. It is pure discipline and determination to do so. We can't really compare my suffering to yours for instance, because our pain thresholds are different. Some people have more pain receptors that others. So since I go through pain I am also able to empathize with others who suffer and pray for them, perhaps even to encourage them. 2Co 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 2Co 1:4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

  40. Romans 8 English Standard Version Anglicised (ESVUK) Life in the Spirit 8 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.[a] 2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. 3 For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin,[c] he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. 6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. 7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. 8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. Heirs with Christ 12 So then, brothers,[d] we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons[e] of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. Future Glory 18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. 26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because[f] the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,[g] for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. God's Everlasting Love 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be[h] against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. The meaning of who is the elect comes form context. In the above, it is Christians. In the Gospels, it is likely Jewish People.

  41. Rom. 14:14 I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. 15 Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died. 16 Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil; 17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men. Paul continues discussing these things through this and chapter 15.

In my own life, I am a "father" to my children, I am a "pastor" of my congregation, I am a "husband" to my wife. In each of these aspects of my life, I am one person ... but respectfully I handle things much differently in these 3 areas of my life. Isa 48:16 Draw near to me, hear this: from the beginning I have not spoken in secret, from the time it came to be I have been there.” And now the Lord GOD has sent me, and his Spirit. 45. I agree with you Fidei. A few yrs ago something was on TV that had to do with a live performance in NYC of certain parts of the Gospels. After the show some young people (15 - 30 age range) were interviewed and I was shocked to hear them say they never heard of Jesus or His life and Gospel. Even shows liked "Touched By An Angel" help because they always tell at least 1 person that "God loves you". I always knew of God. I remember asking my father questions about God when I was 5. So yes it's terrible that we're letting kids grow up without hearing of God, Jesus and what they did 2000 yrs ago.
