  1. This is so very true and is more common that we realize......but it's the broad way to destruction that very many are on, because it's our own flesh and carnal nature refusing to die and trying to protect itself from the light of the Lord......and so it deceives us. Whereas we need to go straight to what God says in scripture and let Him indict our flesh with His word/spirit, and we even learn to take His side against our own flesh and all it's ways and wants and say, Lord not my will but thy will be done.......thus judging ourselves so we will not be judged with the world. Our flesh and carnal nature is contrary to the Spirit and always will be.......so we are to deny our flesh and carnal nature to take up the cross and follow Jesus.

  2. To me it sends a real bad message- that you can date an unbeliever into salvation, which is often disastrous

  3. This passage is speaking of a marriage that had taken place before either spouse experienced salvation. It is NOT saying that it is ok for a believer to marry an unbeliever. Because that would be violating other scripture that tells us to not be unequally yoked. 2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness What the 1 Corinthian 7:13, 14 passage means is, that if both spouses were originally unbelievers before marriage and one spouse converted AFTER getting married. NOT before the wedding ceremony. It is wishful thinking that we can convince a person after getting married that they will convert because of the marriage. We can not change a person's heart. Only God can. For every one person that does convert there are hundreds other that do not. Marriage in itself has enough hardships without adding an unbelieving spouse to the mix. Because both will have different interests and values in all areas of the marriage. And both will be pulling in different directions.

  4. Legalism is the other guy's doctrine that I do not agree with, and will not accept, because I only accept that with which I already agree, and only hear that which reinforces what I want to believe is so.

  5. God has sent you people in this very thread who have given you answers from the Bible confirming Paul as a true Messenger of God.. But you have rejected their efforts.. When a person replied with peters confirmation that Paul was a Brother in Christ .. you went on to dispute the inspiration of the letter from peter.. So you have established that you will only accept information that corresponds with your belief. And you will declare anything that supports Paul and ministry as being uninspired or false.. You do not trust in Gods word at all.. You trust in your own bias against Paul.. You clearly declare Paul a false messenger .. Woe to you because you are declaring the Message of Paul to be false.. The Message of Paul is truth and you have hated the truth..

  6. I am sure hearing a lot lately about legalism. Just what is legalism and how does the Bible look at it? Question: "What does the Bible say about legalism? How can a Christian avoid falling into the trap of legalism?" Answer: The word “legalism” does not occur in the Bible. It is a term Christians use to describe a doctrinal position emphasizing a system of rules and regulations for achieving both salvation and spiritual growth. Legalists believe in and demand a strict literal adherence to rules and regulations. Doctrinally, it is a position essentially opposed to grace. Those who hold a legalistic position often fail to see the real purpose for law, especially the purpose of the Old Testament law of Moses, which is to be our “schoolmaster” or “tutor” to bring us to Christ (Galatians 3:24). Even true believers can be legalistic. We are instructed, rather, to be gracious to one another: “Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters” (Romans 14:1). Sadly, there are those who feel so strongly about non-essential doctrines that they will run others out of their fellowship, not even allowing the expression of another viewpoint. That, too, is legalism. Many legalistic believers today make the error of demanding unqualified adherence to their own biblical interpretations and even to their own traditions. For example, there are those who feel that to be spiritual one must simply avoid tobacco, alcoholic beverages, dancing, movies, etc. The truth is that avoiding these things is no guarantee of spirituality. The apostle Paul warns us of legalism in Colossians 2:20-23: “Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules: ‘Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!’? These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.” Legalists may appear to be righteous and spiritual, but legalism ultimately fails to accomplish God’s purposes because it is an outward performance instead of an inward change. To avoid falling into the trap of legalism, we can start by holding fast to the words of the apostle John, “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17) and remembering to be gracious, especially to our brothers and sisters in Christ. “Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand” (Romans 14:4). “You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat” (Romans 14:10). A word of caution is necessary here. While we need to be gracious to one another and tolerant of disagreement over disputable matters, we cannot accept heresy. We are exhorted to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints (Jude 3). If we remember these guidelines and apply them in love and mercy, we will be safe from both legalism and heresy. “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world” (1 John 4:1). https://www.gotquestions.org/Bible-Christian-legalism.html

  7. Did YHWH sin when HE told HIS people that they MUST BE HOLY, as HE IS HOLY ? Did JESUS then also sin when HE told HIS disciples they must be perfect as the heavenly Father is Perfect ? Did the writers of Scripture, inspired by YHWH, sin when they often described living a holy life, and pursuing a holy life, for EVERYONE who desires to follow JESUS ? Should we all refuse to commit adultery ? Should we all refuse to run red lights ? Should we all refuse to tell the truth, instead of the comand to the ecclesia to stop lying to one another (as Scripture clearly says) ? i.e. do you want to live a life doing good, doing what is right (which is clearly known), or doing evil, doing what is wrong (also clearly shown throughout God's Word ? What DO YOU CHOOSE >> Serving YHWH (God), or serving demons ? which one ?

  8. That sounds about right......I have been trying to define or be able to discern it (rightly) myself, and that sounds about right. Believe there might be something about the sword of the Lord having two edges, with regard to this topic.

  9. Yes, if anyone really is in Christ... If they do something against Jesus they will feel bad, and reconsider it, and repent. "and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again." - 2 Corinthians 5:15 When people start putting their words above Christ's, then something dark is going on. "As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me." - John 6:57

  14. Christianity is said to be the only religion that didn't start as the result of a supernatural vision experienced by its charismatic leader. Yet, this description absolutely DOES fit Christianity if we recognize that it precisely describes what happened in the early church: Paul experienced a vision and spread a new version of Christianity--the one we actually follow today--to the non-Jewish people. At what point are Paul's gospel and the twelve apostles' version harmonized? Why does Jesus never mention during his time on Earth any of the things Paul is teaching? Since Paul's version is so different from the apostles' version, how can we be sure he's not a false prophet? (Many people at the time thought he was) If Paul's truth is the one we're supposed to go by, then why wouldn't Jesus have made any mention of those concepts during his earthly ministry? Why would he choose twelve guys who would ultimately "get it wrong"? What early Christian records do we have which suggest that the churches founded by the apostles and NOT touched by Paul were taught Paul's version of the gospel...and were taught so by the apostles and not Paul? (This perhaps would be the most convincing to me, seeing as all biblical attempts to harmonize Paul and the apostles are written by Paul's camp.) Further information on those: Acts 22:14: "14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath appointed thee to know his will, and to see the Righteous One, and to hear a voice from his mouth. 15 For thou shalt be a witness for him unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard. 16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on his name. 17 And it came to pass, that, when I had returned to Jerusalem, and while I prayed in the temple, I fell into a trance, 18 and saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem; because they will not receive of thee testimony concerning me. 19 And I said, Lord, they themselves know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee: 20 and when the blood of Stephen thy witness was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting, and keeping the garments of them that slew him. 21 And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee forth far hence unto the Gentiles." Seem a bit funny that if this were really Jesus that he would so purposefully hide this new truth from his closest followers...and reveal it instead to someone completely outside the fold. The disciples were warned about imposters coming in Jesus' name. Accepting Paul seems to go against all of those warnings, and the suggestion to avoid Jerusalem seems to be totally aware of that...which again is suspect if Paul's vision really did come from the genuine Jesus. Matthew 24:4-5 "4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." Matthew 24:23 "23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25 Behold, I have told you before. 26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. 27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Accepting Paul seems to imply that we and/or the disciples would have to: Ignore the warnings about "others/imposters coming in Jesus' name". Why would Jesus issue the above warnings if he meant for them to be ignored in the case of Paul? Accept that the message that Jesus gave his closest disciples was actually wrong/incomplete...and that instead, the correct truth came from some guy outside the fold who had a vision Find a way to believe that the reason Paul was told NOT to go to the twelve after his vision was something OTHER THAN the reality that the twelve would prove to him he'd seen a fake. The Ebionites--the Jerusalem church founded by the apostles--seemed to reject Paul completely. If the apostles eventually accepted Paul's version, why did their church never adopt this belief? Irenaeus asserted that the Ebionites "use the gospel of Matthew only and repudiate...Paul, maintaining that he was an apostate fromt he law." (Irenaeus, "Against Heresies" 1.26) (http://www.newadvent.org/fathers/0103126.htm) This continued: Eusebius said that the Ebionites "thought it was necessary to reject all the epistles of the apostle [Paul] whom they called an apostate from the law." (Eusebius, "History of the Church" 3.27) (http://www.newadvent.org/fathers/250103.htm)

  15. “For now we see through a glass, darkly…” It is my belief that we gain insights not only from a structured classroom but also from the vast wonderful creation that the Lord places before us. We simply have to ask, “Father, open my eyes that I might see.” A few years back I happened to look out my kitchen window and there sat a small, scraggly puppy. He was a cute little thing, but, could we take on another dog? We already had two large Rhodesian Ridgebacks. This little guy looked like a small border collie. It’s not all that uncommon for a stray to show up out here in the country, but seldom do we see young puppies. Normally it’s the older guys that have started to chew on furniture or dig holes in the yard. People just don’t consider all the factors involved when becoming dog owners. Cute little puppies grow up to be dogs. Like children, without the correct training and discipline, they can grow up to have serious problems. Pr 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Anyway – here was this pup and I had to check him out. Before I even got close to him I could tell that he was in trouble. He was too weak to run from me. I knelt down and slowly reached for him, thinking he would sniff my hand. He didn’t. Instead he laid his head in my hand and closed his eyes. I caressed him for a short while and then fetched him food and water. I doubted that he had the strength to eat. I went back into the house to give him privacy, and when I went outside a short while later, he had disappeared. I searched but couldn’t find him anywhere. I thought he went off somewhere to die. The next morning he was back by the front porch. I got more food and water and again went back into the house. Again, he disappeared. This pattern continued for a few days until I discovered that he was hiding underneath the bushes that lined the house. The next time I fed him I sat on the porch steps, but didn’t reach out to him when he came out to eat. The days passed and with patience and kindness I slowly gained his trust, me sitting on my porch steps and he watching me with one eye while he ate. He didn’t allow me to handle him until the trust was firmly established. Once he submitted to me, I discovered that he had been severely mistreated. I later thought of how I was before finding my Savior. The world is a hard place in which to live, especially for a non-believer. It can beat us down, strip us of a desire to live –leave us in a condition just like this little broken pup. 1Pe 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour, Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. I named him Cabo and he lived in the front yard for a few weeks while gaining in strength and health. The two big dogs lived in the backyard, separated from the world by an electric fence that was never “hot.” Eventually, Cabo became healthy and self assured and one day boldly ducked under the wire and braved the back yard. The female Ridgeback immediately claimed the pup as her own. One day, after being a part of the family for a couple of months, hubby and I took some treats out to the dogs. Pigs ears, I think they’re called, and our dogs loved them. The two big brown dogs would gobble them up in minutes. This particular day we handed them out, first to the Ridgebacks, who were aggressive to have them, and then to the little guy. He smelled it, but wasn’t sure what to do with it. He was more interested in getting a pet than he was a treat. I kept holding it out for him and he finally took it, realizing that it was all for him. What happened next was a sheer pleasure for me to watch. Cabo wasn’t sure what to do with the treat, so he played with it. And, as he did, his whole demeanor turned to joy. He would toss the treat and then fetch it. He rolled, ran, jumped. He enjoyed this treat to the fullest. It was the funniest thing to watch. I believe, if given the vocal ability, he would have declared this “the best day ever.” Ne 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength. Eventually, the big dogs noticed that the pup still hadn’t eaten his treat. I watched them approach Cabo, slowly and deliberately. Their purpose was clear. The little guy, however, didn’t’ even notice them. He was too busy embracing this newfound joy. The big dogs found a spot to lie down, never taking their eyes off the pig ear. After stern words to the Ridgebacks, I went back inside the house but continued to watch from the windows. For the better part of the day Cabo played with his treat. The big dogs stalked him, drooling as they lusted after the pig ear. Of course, they had their own earlier but consumed it so fast they didn’t even enjoy it. Now they wanted his. As Christians, do we ever do this? Do we carelessly consume the blessings the Lord gives to each of us, only to envy those of another? How many times do we desire what our brother has, thinking it’s a better treat? Unfortunately all puppies grow out of that cute, playful stage. Cabo did as well. His back right leg never fully recovered from the injuries he received before finding his way to our house, but that didn’t slow him down any. Utilizing three legs he could still outrun the other dogs. Had he been placed in a pound I doubt he would have been adopted. The world had left its scars on him and would have rejected him because of it. I found great value, however, in this little dog, simply because he loved me. He never went to his food dish before first coming to me for affection. When I went into the back yard he was always the first to greet me and stayed the longest. If I stayed outside all day, he would have been by my side the entire time. He lived to please me. Ps 40:7-8 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me. I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. Cabo learned discipline well and loved the words of approval afterwards. As he aged he matured into a calmer dog and one that still looked to his master for attention. The more diligently I worked with him, the deeper the understanding became between us and the stronger the bond. He left behind the playful antics of a pup, but if anything, the joy that he had as a puppy only deepened as he learned that to obey meant more time spent with me. Joh 15:10-11 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. Cabo became a seasoned backyard warrior. He patrolled the perimeters of his half acre yard, knowing that it was but a small portion of a much larger kingdom. He valiantly ran off the evil truck that regularly attempted to steal his masters’ trash. Every week he fiercely fought to make the steel demon set the dumpster back down, and leave in defeat. There was an alfalfa farm north of a tree line through which he could not see, but he was aware that his master worked there often and that made it important. He didn’t understand about the house either, but he knew it was the dwelling place of the master. Even though he couldn’t see it all, or understand most of it, he knew that he belonged there and that he had ownership. My broken puppy lived a good long life. He crawled up to my porch, looking for a place to die, and ended up inheriting a place to live. Certainly the teaching process didn’t always come easy for either of us, but the sacrifice given from both sides enabled a relationship that was enriched far beyond simply “owning a dog.” There were times when I felt like Cabo. Broken, lost, nowhere to really belong and call home. But Just like Cabo I found a wealth of joy when I realized that I too was found by my Master. I clearly recall the joy that flooded my heart in my early days with the gifts of mercy and grace that He freely gave. Now, after many years of knowing the greatest gift is Himself, I’ve learned to listen for His voice so I too can walk with Him and have a fullness of joy that is only found in Him and not merely His gifts. Now, like Cabo looking towards the alfalfa field, I too look for the return of my Master, when I will finally see Him face to face. 1Cr 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

  16. Hello, everyone. I am extremely new to this site. I've searched around for various Christian forums just hoping somebody can help me. I don't mean to offend anybody or bring any type of discomfort to this forum. I especially hope I get no violations. This is a really heavy issue on my heart. I am extremely at the end of my rope with depression and anxiety, but what makes it all worse is how the world views me in this dark body God gave me. I have asked God why this color? Why not make me Asian or Native American? I tried telling myself that He made me black because it pleased him. Why should he care what the world thinks, or form me in the matter what would fit society's standards? I've tried convincing myself that God does not cater to how poorly we human beings view each other. Racism wasn't His fault. He is a supreme being over the created. I've tried convincing myself that only his thoughts about me matter. I've tried looking at the big picture that one day, all of us will unite with him and experience the real TRUTH about EVERYTHING. But none of this convincing is working. Deep down, I know there is nothing wrong with my skin color, or the hair texture that I have, or the physical features. If there was no racism or the harsh systems against my people, I would be able to walk down the street proudly. However, when you live in a world where DAILY, somebody is reminding you that your skin color is a problem, it starts to get to you...for years and years and years and years. It's like beating up a dog everyday where the dog will eventually think it did something wrong. Social Media is a terrible and evil tool for people to manifest their true feelings about me and my race. I have seen so many cruel things, such as: 1. African't (word CAN'T) as if we can't do anything. As if it's in our DNA to fail, or that we need extra help, or that we're born to suffer. 2. It is believed we aren't civilized. No matter how nice I am, or how wide of a smile I put on my face, I will always be regarded as another black animal. I know I tend to fool people once they hear me speak or experience my personality. I always hope that the mugshots shown on the daily news about a murder or robbery isn't of my race because what one black person does, the rest of the black people are also at fault for it. We are not individually judged, but judged as a whole. 3. We have dirt and less developed countries 4. Slavery was our fault (and even if we were handed over by our brothers and sisters, that still does not excuse the terrible unspeakable things that happened to us.) And even when it was 400 years ago, traces of it are still affecting us today. My ancestors didn't get to own businesses or have land passed down through their generation of future families. I was never able to relate to white folks who talk about the family lineage or how far down the they count their family ancestry. I can't. My history is silent, yet it screams of blood. 5. I am guaranteed at least once a month to see somebody say I'm ugly (not directly), or black women are the least desired all over the world, that their own men don't want them, whether it's to an Indian man, Asian man, White man, or even African man. Men of various races always obsess and desire a White woman. it is NEVER ever ever ever ever anybody that looks like me. And I'm not saying I need their approval, but, it will just feel nice to know that I may look beautiful to somebody every once and a while. I will never or hardly ever in my life see a man of any race say something decent about me. We're not on billboards. We're not on TV with commercials glorifying our skin or looks. When I was a kid white Barbie dolls were heavily emphasized in commercials. The other minority dolls only showed up right at the end of the commercial. I broke my mother's heart when I told her to take back the black doll she gave me. We're never even in video games where we can enjoy cool characters. And if we are in video games, we have very insignificant roles. In movies, we're always portrayed in a very stereotypical ways. 6. Other black people make it harder to be black. Like the Mugshot I just spoke of. I can name so many problems, like falling into gang relations, or having an obnoxious loud attitude, or have terrible customer service in various employment. Some stereotypes are unfortunately true, but it affects m as well. 7. We have the worst health issues. High blood pressure, diabetes, heart diseases, mental illness, Sickle Cell, Lupus, and STD crisis; one of the least healthiest people on the planet. 8. We are regarded as less worthy. 9. Everything a black person does is a big deal. While I get that our names may sound funny, we can't even create our own names without ridiculing. No one ever questions why Asian people have the names the have, or the Arabs, and Indians, and other races of people, but if it's a black person, we need to just have white names. What about owning a business. Black businesses are perceived as low quality. Mexicans and Asians can whip up a business and people will flock to them like crazy. We're not allowed to have a bad day or express anger because if we do, we're being violent, or it's the 'uh-oh, and angry black man/woman!' 10. We are not welcomed anywhere on the planet. 11. We are a totally misunderstood race of people. 12. Racial tensions drive me crazy. Just the insensitive and lack of willingness to even understand a black person's place or their situations. We're told to 'get over it' or 'it's your fault', or 'stop playing the victim', or 'you're looking at things at a wrong perspective'. I am going mad. Nobody understands us, nor do they want to. We are the loneliness race on planet earth. No matter how much we shout and cry and plead, nobody hears us. Nothing changes. Not even God will do anything. Black people fill up the churches like crazy and can be some of the most God-fearing people, yet we're still severely oppressed I am emotionally tired. I feel like I just want to go sleep and never wake up. My depression and anxiety have gotten so bad that my body doesn't feel the same anymore. Sunday night I cried to God so hard that I could barely breathe. What was He thinking to even create me? I feel so terrible because I grew up with a wonderful childhood to two of the most amazing parents and a high-spirited family, but they have no idea I'm saying these things. Suicide feels really nice, but it will crush the people around me. I'm 31 years old, and suicide has been chasing me for years and it is constantly getting closer and closer. I read the bible and I pray, and it doesn't work, or the healing isn't coming fast enough. What can I do in this impossible world where everyday somebody or something lets me know that my skin color will always be an issue? How can anybody or even God expect me to be sane? What can I do? How can I get out of this struggle? Somebody please help me. How can the bible speak to me with this impossible struggle? A throb is in my throat right now...

  18. I invite all comments, pro and con, and I especially invite you showing me through scripture where you believe I am in error, if you believe that. I do not claim to have all the answers, but like you, I’m seeking and searching for them like faithful Bereans. I will try to consider and mesh both Daniels final 7 year period that has been prophesied pursuant to Daniel 9 and the book of Revelation End time events which only talks about a 3.5 year period, known as the GREAT TRIBULATION. Let me preface my timeline with this: I believe it is possible the four horsemen of the apocalypse (first four Seals) have been opened and have ridden already. I believe it is possible that began as soon as Yeshua (Jesus) entered Heaven on His ascension from earth. (Rev 5) I see the rider of the first horse, the spirit of antichrist, going forth throughout the world which I see immediately beginning after Jesus left. Timeline In chronological order: 1. I see the final seven year period that Daniel prophesied will begin with some sort of peace treaty or covenant being made with the many (Israel included). I believe, but not dogmatic, that the two witnesses of Rev 11 will make their appearance in Jerusalem at this time and will preach the Word for 3.5 years. The two witnesses will be Enoch, Elijah, or Moses, two of this three. 2. This will allow for Israel to rebuild their Temple (FYI, I do not believe it will be on the Temple Mount, but rather in the City of David, just South of the Temple Mount.) 3. There will be relative calmness in the Middle East and the world as a result of this treaty for about 3 years. 4. Very close to the 3.5 year mark, the RAPTURE....very unexpected and sudden. Be ready Saints! I believe this group of people is represented in Rev 7: 9-17 and I don’t think it is coincidental this scene takes place BEFORE the Trumpet Judgments of Rev 8. 5.At the midpoint of the 7 years, the Man of sin (the Beast, known as the antichrist) will make his move to be worshipped and set himself up in the rebuilt Temple to proclaim such. The ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION IS HERE. This now begins the time period known as the Great Tribulation= 1260 Days, 3.5 years, time, times, and a half. 6. The 6th seal begins right at this moment. God is not happy with this abomination and shows his anger both here on earth (large earthquake) and cosmic signs in the heavenlies. 7. The Faithful remnant Jews (1/3) flee to the Mountains, I think in Bosrah, Jordan. 8. The Trumpet Judgments begin shortly after the Abomination 9. The 144,000 Jews will also be evangelizing hard during this time. 10. The Bowl judgments follow the Trumpets, obviously in that final 3.5 year period (GT) 11. The nations will meet at Armageddon (I am not sure if this is also called the Gog/Magog War of Ezekiel 38/39, and not sure if Gog=Beast.) just before the return of Yeshua right at the end of the 70th week. 12. Christ comes back with his saints and kicks some booty. (FYI, The Saints immediately went up from the Rapture to the Bema Judgment for their rewards and the Marriage Supper.) The Beast and the False Prophet are thrown into the Lake of Fire and Satan is bound for 1000 years in the Abyss. 13. Sheep and Goat Judgment- the sheep repopulate earth, goats are judged guilty and Removed 14. Christ sets up his Millenial Kingdom for 1000 yrs 15. Satan loosed, does his thing again rallying the unbelievers, Fire from Heaven devours them, Satan now thrown into Lake of Fire to be reunited with Beast and False Prophet 16. New Heaven and New Earth (might be a renewed Earth) Obviously this is not all encompassing, but I think it says enough to generate thought and I’ve probably said enough for now. So, let me have it. Thanks. spock

  19. I don't know about where you live ES, but in Australia there is a saying 'Happy wife, Happy life'...so as long as you keep wife happy, hubby will be happy....in other words, give her whatever she wants (to shut her up) and she'll turn a blind eye to things she'd normally protest to. Now Jesus tells us to do to others as we would like to be done to ourselves and (not sure who - Paul?) Says for husbands to love their wives as themselves...that's a win win situation. Jesus came in a serving role, and so should we - and a Christian husband should be sensitive to his wife's needs as he is to his own.

  20. Hi, Darian, and welcome to Worthy. I read your entire post but I just quoted the last paragraph to save space. I see that you are believing the world isn't for you but didn't God put you here? Problems and heartaches don't just happen to black people, they happen to everyone and pretty much ALL people are dissatisfied with their looks, status or whatever at some point.. Before you believe that black people are lesser beings, consider the richest woman in the U.S., Ooprah Winfrey, is black. The top astrophysicist in the U.S., Neil DeGrasse, is black. The top pediatric neurosurgeon in the world, Dr. Ben Carson (retired) is black and is now the head of the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development. We have had a black Secretary of State, a black National Security Advisor, two black Attornies General and a black President. We have numerous black Senators and Representatives in Congress. We have three black astronauts. So think about those people, and they are just a few among many, and ask yourself why you think black people are lesser beings? And, as for slavery, that was not you or anyone alive today. My own people were once serfs (slaves) of the British Crown and I guarantee I don't worry about it. Give God some credit and yourself as well. Black women are models and actresses (Halle Barry, Beyonce, Kerry Washington, Jordyn Sparks etc.). The facts tell you that none of that old stereotypical rubbish about blacks, or any race, should be a part of our lives today. God made you, me, and everyone else just as He wanted us.

WE would all have to sit silent and not warn period. Love warns , what it don't do is show up to an event that GOD has called abomination and just nod or hug and not warn out . Time to get serious. YOU GO, and you see it , and YOU don't warn out , YOU HELD ACCOUNTABLE for it. THEY need to hear the real gospel And if everyone is so scared to death to expose the sin , they will just think all is well. Your not showing them the love of Christ by going Your showing them ITS OKAY . NOT GOOD. NOT GOOD . we got no business going . UNLESS we are their to do as JESUS talk about following that pattern. WHAT did he do when he saw SIN in that temple. A HINT he didn't eat and drink and hug . HE made a whip and went to town. NOW I aint asking anyone to go make whips and run into gay marriages and start whipping people. BUT I am , I am warning us have nothing to do with the evil works that men or women do, RATHER EXPOSE THEM . SISTER you know I love you. its why I am only trying to help .

  27. JUST so long as that path DONT become a new revelation like, say, ALL PATHS lead or all inclusive. YOU hear a spirit tell you that God new revelation will is for world peace and that we need to be gathering with all other religions and casting aside doctrines for unity MY ADVICE TELL IT TO FLEE , its of the dark one appearing a light. their is no all inclusive world peace gospel . JUST the true gospel that divides and offends I say again, if we , even me, or anyone comes preaching another gospel YOU FLEE. and you do it quick. Allah don't save, budddism wont be saved, none will. lest they repent of the false gods and come to CHRIST ONLY IF we or any other spirit says, that GOD is in all religions , that it is really the same GOD but men messed it up and we got new revelation YA FLEE its a lie from satans men appearing as men of righteousness. I worry for you pudgenik. real worried now . FOR IF you have TRULY KNOWN the LORD for over thirty years..............WHY YOU STILL IN ROME. I know sometimes it may take a bit to come out . IT even took mennos simmons a bit. BUT thirty years pudgnik , that scares me for you NOW , I am going to ask you a question another near and dear sister asked you, WHERE do you see this ecumenical all inclusive gospel . YOU FOR IT or against it. STAND up for what you believe , IF its false , I will tell you. But with me , you and everyone else here should know..........what ya see is what ya get I Hide nothing . JUST right to the point . IF any spirit is saying they are not ready for this revelation you have, FLEE IT lies fear truth , and thus the one who is the prince of lies , will often tell men , keep back the new revelation , due to it knows it cannot over come the truth. PUDGENIK. we got to be honest . lie not to one another . SO , where do you stand on this all inclusive ecumenical world peace unity.

  28. In Acts 9 we read about Saul, going toward Damascus, is stricken down to the earth, and led blind to Damascus; He is called to the apostleship; and is baptized by Ananias. He preaches Christ boldly. The Jews lay wait to kill him; so do the Grecians, but he escapes both. Acts 9:5, And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. I used to wonder what the Lord meant when He said to Saul; "it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks." This saying, “It is hard for you to kick against the pricks,” was a familiar saying to the Jews and anyone who made a living in agriculture. An ox goad was a stick with a pointed piece of iron on its tip used to prod the oxen when plowing. The farmer would prod the animal to steer it in the right direction. Sometimes the animal would rebel by kicking out at the prick, and this would result in the sharp prod being driven even further into its flesh. In essence, the more an ox rebelled, the more it suffered. Thus, Jesus’ words to Saul on the road to Damascus: “It is hard for you to kick against the pricks.”

  31. If the Law could save us, we wouldn't have needed a Savior. There would be no 'good news'. Jesus often encouraged people for their faith, but criticized those who thought their adherence to Law secured their standing with God. Gentiles were never obligated to the Law - it was always a covenant between God and the nation of Israel. Also remember that the Gospel author Luke is also the author of Acts - dealing primarily with the ministry of Paul (besides the reference Peter gave Paul in his letters - as others have already mentioned).

  32. I get what you're saying Butero The foundations of this advice is not bad - not every household functions the sane way, so in that sense I say to modify according to your house. If the wife chooses to take on this serving style, God wouldn't be condemning of it, rather I think He would bless this marriage and any Christian husband would be doing wonderful things for his wife in return. I cannot see how any Spirit filled Christian man wouldn't. That's simply my opinion.

  34. I absolutely was not talking about "fairness". People who whine about fairness are never going to get it. This world isn't fair - and sometimes wrongly so - pride, selfishness, and greed. God isn't fair - and rightly so - if he were we would all be in hell right now. I'm talking about why the article seems to be saying that everything she does all day long is to make sure that he will want to come home and when he gets home, he will want to stay home. He should already want to come home and stay home because he loves her and his family. If the baby needs changing when he arrives or if the roast is burnt - she hasn't failed. It's just part of life. Why the command for perfection for the husband's sake? And where, where, where is the article or job description about how a husband is to make his wife happy floating around the internet? Or in all of these incessant arguments on message boards about what women can and cannot do, can and cannot wear, can and cannot say in church, can and cannot practice and can and cannot have as a profession are the incessant discussions about men and their lives a husbands, providers, and fathers? Fairness? No indeed. Trying to understand the concept of "worth" as a spouse? Yes.

  35. Hi Darian86 I don't know if this has anything to do with the colour of any ones skin, but it is stated that Moses married an Ethiopian woman. It is definitely stated in Ex. 2:15-25; 18:1-27 that Moses married Zipporah, the daughter of the priest of Midian, Midian was a son of Abraham through Keturah (Gen. 25:1-6). This land of Midian was originally a part of the land of Cush from which descended the Ethiopians. The Ethiopians had conquered nearly all of Egypt in the days of Moses. They evidently had also conquered the land of Midian thus making the Midianites subjects of Ethiopia. So, who's to say you, or any other African person may not be a direct descendent of Moses?

My guess is that it was written by a woman (young, probably single) for one of those commercial women's magazines that gave rise to Vogue and Cosmopolitan, since we're usually the ones with "compulsive perfection disorder" and buy into impossible expectations of ourselves.......that and we tend to dream in fairy tales......lol. My favourite part was the part about taking a nap before hubby gets home.....hilarious......not sure how those young gals were supposed to take a nap while they're in the middle of cooking a delicious dinner, and washing and changing the children's clothes, and fixing their hair up with a ribbon no less and freshening up their make up, and probably a baby to nurse and a toddler or two to chase after.....all at the same time, all right before zero hour. I'm still chuckling.

  39. As a woman, I despise it. Yes, there are a few things that are on the right track, but worded so that it is headed OFF the rail and into the valley of rocks. There are varying versions of this floating around and have been for years - some even harsher than this one. I don't think this is the original. I've seen a copy of the original in newspaper form. This one has been"softened". I have to ask after reading this: Why must the evening be "his"? Are they not one-flesh? Why can't the evening be "theirs" - husband AND wife - and family. Hasn't her day been stressful, too? Isn't her work just as important and hard as his? When does she get to "relax and renew herself in body and spirit? Why is the home and the evening only about him? Yes, everyone should not look like slobs, but why do they have to look like they are going to church. Why is the tone of the article - which admittedly was in a different time - as if the husband is a physical and mental wreck when he comes home and she is the nurse, nanny, cook, and scullery maid? I don't say that a wife shouldn't be about making a home pleasant for everyone - including herself - but the tone isn't one of a husband who loves his wife the way that Christ loved the church nor a wife who respects her husband. It's just a job description.

  40. ... I read the bible and I pray, and it doesn't work ... Shalom, Dear Darian, the above line of your letter is, probably, the only one I dare to disagree with. For our Holy Bible (not bible) worth much more than just reading. Behold, it's a Precious Well of Answers to literally every question this clumsy world might find to ask, let alone the proved way of Communion with the LORD our GOD. Believe me, using the Bible as a sort of sleeping pills when reading it at bed, as some simpletons do, is stupid. As for the Sacrament of Prayer -- another good way to talk with GOD -- Yes, it does work, just pray believing the Omnipresent One is listening. I love the above letter our Sister wrote to you. Do well to continue write to one another. Verily, she has her heart in the right place. Probably, you are not very rich. That I deduct from the way other people behave toward you. In this word the money is a well-tested "shutupper..." Where can you find the right friends? Put a check-mark on that, because you've already found them right here on this Forum. Where to find more? In the first Bible-Believing Christian Church coming your way. The same about the man to marry. Ye know, I've been here for just a month, but have already had a history of "counseling" unhappy non-christian families. Where to find good employment? In the Christian Charity, whether paid or not. How come? You will understand that, just switch off the common sense. (And do that every time you open your Bible.) Where to see "black" people on the screen? Seek and ye shall find... Just to help a bit, I dare advise you to watch this good Christian movie The War Room. By the by, the main actress (see her picture below) has her Ministry. You may find it on the internet. I tried myself to write her to thank for the movie, but got no answer (despite the fact she is "black" and I'm "white". Sorry for my ex-military "black" humor.) The other movies are, The Encounter, Miracles From Heaven, Clancy, The Green Mile, Fireproof, Courageous, Do You Believe?, A Matter Of Faith, etc. GOD bless you, Sister. Igor

  41. Hello and welcome! Watch Stephen Darby Ministries on YouTube. He will give you a lift I believe. White or black, what you describe (believe it or not) happens to a lot of us. There is always an unseen spiritual component. In a very strange way (they call it paranoia) I have felt the brunt of much hatred and adversity. Why? Because of my DNA and my parents that I never met. Being half Israeli means that the unseen realm is ALREADY prejudiced against you. There is much more - but this is about you and not me. Check out Darby. He does not mince words. Most of civilization before the flood was just like you. Remember this little saying. Small minds talk about people. Mediocre minds talk about events. Great minds talk about ideals.

  42. This does demonstrate that he eventually had a few moments of agreement with the apostles. Still, why would Jesus have him go all the way to Jerusalem, have a vision, and leave...instead of meeting up with the followers of Jesus there? Something just doesn't fit. Furthermore, let's explore why Jews might be objecting to Paul--could it be his insistence that it was ok for new believers not to be Torah-observant? Matthew 5:17 17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Heaven and Earth are still here, so I'm not sure how Paul can argue that the law isn't in effect. Apparently these Jews had the same concern. This is essentially a repeat of a few verses earlier, where we see that there is an additional assertion tacked on: Acts 15:19 19 “It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. 20 Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood. 21 For the law of Moses has been preached in every city from the earliest times and is read in the synagogues on every Sabbath.” In the early days, any foreigners living among the Jews would have been expected to eventually assimilate the Jewish law and lifestyle. That certainly seems to be the suggestion here. It sounds like what's essentially being said here is, "Give them just these few commands to start out with, because we know they'll be studying in synagogue every Sabbath to faithfully learn the rest in due time".

  44. I think it would be appropriate to consider other passages from Acts such as Acts 9:1-31. In particular, Acts 9:26-30. 26 When he came to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he really was a disciple. 27 But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus. 28 So Saul stayed with them and moved about freely in Jerusalem, speaking boldly in the name of the Lord. 29 He talked and debated with the Hellenistic Jews, but they tried to kill him. 30 When the believers learned of this, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus. Acts 9:26-30 NIV From this, it appears that apostles (with the coaxing of Barnabas accepted Saul/Paul) and that it was the Hellenistic Jews that rejected Paul. I think that the passage in Acts 22:18 would be referring to the Hellenistic Jews rejecting Paul rather than the apostles rejecting Paul given that Acts 9:29 explicitly says that the Hellenistic Jews tried to kill him. From other passages in Acts, it appears that one of the controversies in the early church was the extent to which the Law of Moses needed to be observed. Some Jewish believers seemed to believe it was necessary; others did not. Acts 15:1-35 contains more information on this. Here are a few passages from this chapter. 5 Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, “The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to keep the law of Moses.” 6 The apostles and elders met to consider this question. Acts 15:5-6 NIV After consideration, the apostles and elders in Jerusalem decided that it was not appropriate to force the gentile converts to keep the law of Moses but rather just a few requirements to avoid deeply offending Jews. 28 It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: 29 You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things. Acts 15:28-30 NIV Based on the passages in Acts, it would appear that the Ebionites were more akin to those believers of the party of the Pharisees than the apostles and elders. Indeed, it seems like the believers who were Pharisees were in disagreement with the apostles and elders on this issue.

  45. even one passage from the 2nd epistle of St Peter (who was the head of the Church on this earth after Christ was taken up into the "Heavens") proves that Paul was a true Apostle: 2 Peter 3:15-18 "regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen." there is no contradiction in the holy scriptures, there can be contradiction only in somebody's mind Blessings

  46. That doesn't help with the understanding of the question at hand. Do you have any insights on this? Let's start with Torah observance. This probably wasn't Peter. 2 Peter is one of the most disputed authorships of the entire NT - even ahead of Revelation: 2 Peter was recognized as canonical by the Councils of Hippo and Carthage in the fourth century, and this is the more significant because these Councils rejected the Epistle of Barnabas and 1 Clement, because they were not of apostolic origin. . . . At the Reformation it was regarded as second-class Scripture by Luther, rejected by Erasmus, and regarded with hesitancy by Calvin. (https://bible.org/article/2-peter-peter’s) Miracles prove nothing and in fact were one of the signs of a false prophet or false Christ: Matthew 24:23 "23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Source? They followed the teachings of the apostles and NOT those of Paul. Please explain why Acts 22:14-20 isn't about what I said it is about (Paul being told by Jesus not to go into Jerusalem and tell the twelve). There's also this: Acts 9:26 "When he came to Jerusalem, he was trying to associate with the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple." I ask the question because I have trouble accepting that Paul is a trustworthy source, yes. I'm not sure why that seems to make you angry. If he indeed is a trustworthy source, I would hope to discover information that could lead me to this conclusion. It sounds like you aren't really interested in helping with the concern I posted. If that's the case, then I would prefer that this discussion only contain the responses of those whose intention is indeed to help. Thus far, I'm not convinced. Seeing as Paul wrote most of the materials that we as Christians rely on for instructions on salvation and how to live, it seems that establishing his legitimacy is pretty important--especially when we're warned about false prophets with a description that seems to fit him. If he's legit, then I trust that God will allow that truth to prevail.

  47. You haven't provided any argument as to why they should be considered inconsistent. They preach the same gospel; namely that Jesus the promised Messiah, the perfect Son of God, suffered the cross as recompense for the sins of the world – that all who call Him Lord in truth, by faith receive His salvation through grace. There is no gospel inconsistency between Paul’s teaching and the other gospels. Jesus taught the Jews (i.e. those condemned under law), but Paul preached to the gentiles (i.e. those condemned under justice). But the gospels are are the same - reconciled at the cross.

  48. Saul was a well respected and fine leader. 1 Then some men came down from Judea and were teaching the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.” 2 So Paul and Barnabas engaged these men in sharp debate. The two of them were appointed, along with some other believers, to go up to Jerusalem to see the apostles and elders about this question. 3 Sent on their way by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, recounting the conversion of the Gentiles and bringing great joy to all the brothers. Acts 15:2

  49. All the Apostles were trained and taught by Jesus, and as all disciples must also they received revelation from the Father in heaven to understand Scripture. This includes Paul, and they all are in complete and perfect harmony with all Scripture, TORAH, PROPHETS, PSALMS and NEW TESTAMENT. The differences men in error claim are quite common and wicked, like the Judaizers were as warned about in Galatians, and the many other warnings against following any false gospel (which are seen here on the forum every day, and most all other forums possibly without exception) remain in tact, as does all of YHWH'S WORD, and ALL SCRIPTURE. When YHWH gives understanding of Scripture, there is no conflict, no contradiction, and nothing to "harmonize" as it all fits beautifully together as YHWH SAYS, as JESUS TAUGHT/ TEACHES, as YHWH REVEALS in SPIRIT.
