  2. Hi Annette. Nice to read you again I don't really have any set goals, but I also had it mind that praying for others and spending time in prayer in general will be important for me this year. I also believe that I need to draw closer to God, being more focused on what He is telling me than what people are saying. Luke 10:38 - 42 , (Jesus visiting Martha and Mary) has been a scripture on my mind lately and I believe that I need to try to worry less and be more focused on intimacy with Jesus. So I guess another goal would be to put away distractions and to stay focused. I hope that whatever goals you have, God will bless what you do and will be glorified through it.

  3. Hi, My soul may be required of me even tonight. So, I do no set goals for the year, month, nor even the day. I simply live in the moment much as a dog does, wagging my tail at the sights and sounds, chasing butterflies and ladybugs. Butterflies are free and ladybugs abundant enough to fill my day with happiness. I get to do as my Master may will of me, yet I am so old I'm not expected to even have chase after sticks anymore. Live is grand- for this moment and that is all there is this moment. I am reading a short book, and taking a Sunday school class that is using it as a refernce that will cover a semester ending this summer-with me or without me, our Lord granting the time for either. I have read today's portion, that is good enough, in fact rather wonderful for me. " The Saints Everlasting Rest" 1652 by Richard Baxter", it seems appropriate for my further advance.

  4. Thanks for your comments, frienduff thaylorde. I greatly enjoy studying Bible History, and the Jews of course feature prominently in it from start to finish, not always favourably in terms of obedience to God, which is why Scripture urges us to learn from God's dealings with them. Rom 15:4 (4) For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. 1Co 10:11 (11) Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

  7. Scriptures says; Romans 1:17 (NKJV) “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” There is so much in scripture that talks about the faith of the believer. Faith in God being that which unites the believer to God. Believing that He is and that He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. It also says; “from faith to faith” Meaning that faith should be ever growing, ever bringing us into a deeper fellowship and knowledge of God. Scripture also says that; Romans 5:2 (NKJV) through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. “access by faith into the grace in which we stand” Faith or the desire of the heart turned toward God is the opener of all God has toward His people. All men are creatures of faith. It’s where and in what is their faith. Faith is the mover of man, but the will is the decider in man. His will chooses, that which he will allow his faith to appropriate to himself. Man’s will is the decider of, in, and what he will allow his faith to bring or manifest in his life. God has told us to believe and to know He is a God of righteousness. If we are to find this God as a ever present reality in our lives. He can only be found where He is, and that is in righteousness. The faith of the believers heart that searches and seeks for Him in righteousness will most assuredly find Him there. For God is not hiding from anyone, but He can only be found by that which can find Him, (the faith of the believers heart.) Also as true, He can only be found where He is, and that is in righteousness. The heart that is willing to enter into this “will to righteousness by faith,” will never be sent away empty. For God wants to be found. But can only be found by what can find Him, (our faith). And can only be found where He is, (in righteousness). Scriptures says; Romans 10:10 (NKJV) For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. “for with the heart one believes unto righteousness” It is in this righteousness that God will be found. In the heart that believes into righteousness. A heart that is willing to forsake all its own will, and enter into this “will to all goodness”. (i.e. righteousness.) will find the scripture that says “those willing to do, shall know” is a most true truth indeed. The faith that will dive deep into their deaths in Christ, will be the faith that will be most fed and grow. Blessings. Much love in Christ, Not me

  10. Hi everyone. Several months ago, I realized that I may not be really saved. There were just things that didn’t add up in terms of my experience compared to what the Bible says and what I saw in other Christians. I was also angry with God because I felt restricted by rules I’d been following that I thought were from him that might’ve just been legalism. I started praying a lot and reading the Bible, but eventually I got even angrier with God because it seemed like nothing was happening and also these legalistic rules had increased dramatically. I felt like I couldn’t move without sinning. If it helps you understand, I lost a significant amount of weight because I felt I couldn’t eat much due to these rules. I had already had intrusive thoughts cursing at God in the past, but I was so angry that I cursed at Him myself in the heat of the moment many times. I felt bad afterward and apologized and asked for forgiveness, but it kept happening. I think because I knew that the Spirit is the one who does the regenerative work that I was upset about not seeing and because I thought these rules were from Him because He convicts us of sin, I even cursed at the Spirit. This wasn’t premeditated, it was very much in the heat of the moment, but I did it many times over the course of time and was very angry with Him in general. I think because I’d read the passage about the unpardonable sin and was afraid of committing it, I even had angry thoughts (that I 100% do NOT believe) at Him that were similar to what the Pharisees said. I quickly apologized for these and asked for forgiveness, but it may be too late for me. I will say I don’t think I would’ve ever thought to think it if I hadn’t read that passage. I don’t know if that matters. Anyway, I am feeling utterly hopeless. I have been terrible toward Him, and I don’t know if I can ever be saved. I’d really like to hear people’s thoughts on this. Also, if you think I can be saved, I need to know what to do from here because I prayed and read the Bible and tried to seek earnestly for months, and I feel so far away still.

  11. Greetings guys, I trust that 2019 has started out to be a good year for you As we start a new year, I love the idea of a fresh and new start. I was wondering what some of your goals for 2019 is. I know for me, I want to be more intentional when it comes to praying for people, as well as be more intentional in making time to keep up with family and friends. Looking forward to hearing from you. God bless.

  26. The Cross and the Resurrection are what saves and sanctifies a believer, not the workds. If you have the Cross of Christ right in your life, then you will automatically do good works and avoid evil works. The focus of the dream seems to be the Cross of Christ, and this bodes well, as Paul taught in Romans 6, 7 and 8. You would do well to read this passage of scripture. Jesus left your side in the dream, but he is still present with you through the Holy Spirit, which is in Christ...."for the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death."

  28. Thank you for sharing this. I had not read that before. Thank you for your thoughts. I do still have conviction of sin, though it’s faint today. I think I’m pretty worn out physically and emotionally, and that’s affecting things. Lately I’ve had to admit to myself that even though I thought I was seeking God, it seems more like God has been seeking me because I keep running when it seems like I’m almost there. I don’t know what to do. Do you have any advice for me? It’s like I think I want God until He gets too close, and then these feelings I barely noticed before come out saying no, keep your distance, the idea of God is scary, I don’t want to/don’t think I can trust someone I can’t see, I don’t want to give up silly worldly things, I don’t want to live for someone else, etc. Also I feel like the gospel just does not sink in. I feel so far away from Jesus and saving faith, further than when I started (though I don’t know if that’s true or just how I feel). Thank you for the encouragement. I am trying to do as you say. I’d really appreciate it if you remember to pray for me.

  29. First off, she didn't enter into the beauty contest, ...she was forced to participate or be killed! Second the story takes place at the time of Ezra and it's one of many illustrations of God's grace and providential care for His people, ...even the ones that didn't return to their land after the captivity. As has been previously stated it probably was a sexual contest between the women, ...what were their choices, queen or a celibate life, we must not judge them for their actions, we would probably all do the same if faced with the same choice, also, we must remember they probably were not Jewish, ...thus without the knowledge of God's Law. There isn't anything recorded that Esther behaved in that matter, so we must not add to Scripture with our ideas, ...what Scripture does tell us is; The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: He turneth it whithersoever He will. Pro 21:1 With that in mind and with the rest of the story we see God, in His Providential care, placing Esther as queen so that she can save her people from annihilation. Lord bless

  30. I looked up who she is. So far, no one has considered two things: 1. In the arts/entertainment (in which I include modeling) why would anyone claim to be a Christian who isn’t? Most of the industry is hostile to Christianity and it’s rare to see anyone acknowledge Christ. 2. Most importantly, she could be the only Christian model ANY of the other young models come into contact with. She could actually be leading people to Christ there. A woman I grew up with went to Paris on a modeling contract and came back a year later as a used up cocaine addict. It’s a dangerous environment. If men can’t control their lust because a model wears lingerie, they are the problem, not her. I can admire a beautiful woman and recognize a nice figure without immediately fantasizing about having sex with her. She’s simply beautiful and that’s just a fact. If women think she’s not modest enough they should ask themselves why they wear makeup and earrings and color their hair. It’s to look appealing, that’s why. If you are wearing a burlap sack with 6 foot long grey hair tied up in a giant bun, I stand corrected. Lastly, none of us should be speculating who is and who is not a false Christian without knowing them. I completely agree we should pray for her spiritual maturity. While we are at it, let’s pray for each other’s as well (don’t leave me out, I admit to needing it).

  31. Isaiah 7:14 This is easy to explain. The Hebrew word in question actually means "young (unmarried) woman". That would be a literal translation. Being unmarried, she can be assumed to be a virgin. When the Tanakh was translated into Greek in the 2nd century BC, the translators decided to use the Greek word 'parthenos' - which specifically means 'virgin'. This is more of an interpretive translation. Most English Bibles (including the KJV) do the same. Isaiah 9:6 This is an example of ambiguity in the Hebrew (a very common problem). Both translations are possible. The translator's footnote in the NET Bible (which says the same as the KJV) states: No subject is indicated for the verb “he called.” If all the titles that follow are ones given to the king, then the subject of the verb must be indefinite, “one calls.” However, some have suggested that one to three of the titles that follow refer to God, not the king. For example, the traditional punctuation of the Hebrew text suggests the translation, “and the Extraordinary Strategist, the Mighty God calls his name, ‘Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.’”

  33. (1) Can you cite that verse that says "an EAST wind"? All I see is Genesis 8:1 that says "wind". I also see the Bible directly saying a global flood. Three times in Genesis 6. Genesis 7:4 - "For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth." , and Genesis 7:21-23 - "And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark." Besides, if the flood were only local, why did God say three times in Genesis 6 that it would be global? Why does it say twice in Genesis 7 that it WAS global? And why, if God said he would never flood the earth again, - why would there be constant and myriad local floods around the world all the time? Was God lying? No. The Great Flood was global. That's what he would never send again? And.....why, if the flood were only local - why would there be a need for a outrageously huge Ark? Why not just tell Noah and his family to move to a certain area away from the Flood? Noah had 100 years to build the Ark. Think of just how far he and he family could travel by foot and camel in a hundred years! (2) Read Genesis 6 - 8. And read Matthew 24 where Jesus Christ said that ALL were swept away in the Flood. And then read 2 Peter 2 where Peter says that that only Noah and 7 others were spared and that the whole "world" was deluged with water and perished. (3) Paul NEVER said that the stories in Genesis were an allegory. He NEVER said that they were not literally true. What he said in Galatians 4 was that you could take the REAL women Sarah and Hagar and their respective sons, Isaac and Ishmael and see spiritual representations. The whole book of Galatians was about the law and TO those were stayed immersed in it. He said that Sarah and her son Isaac are like the covenant of freedom, the new covenant. He says you could see Hagar and her son, Ishmael like the covenant of slavery, being under the law. He says these women existed. Paul never said the Old Testament stories were allegories. (4) Days 3 and 4 are backwards according to whom? God provided a holy light on Day 1. Plants had light. He provided two lights, the sun and the moon, on Day 4 to mark signs and the seasons, mark the calendars, and to govern by day and night. I don't have a problem with this order.

  36. Rabbi Hillel used Isaiah 47:1-3 in conjunction with Leviticus 18:8 to create the doctrine that a woman who showed these body parts before men who were not her husband (even if accidentally) was guilty of adultery a divorceable offense. The doctrine was in full swing by the time Jesus was on the scene. And remember, folks, divorce was not a bit like today. A divorced woman was grateful to have the clothes on her back in those days. Her dowry, home, children all went to the man. She was usually scorned and shamed so that even her blood relatives would not take her back into their homes. Ironically, the house of prostitution (pagan temples) was where they ended up or as beggars. To this doctrine Jesus said the following: Matthew 5:27–30 (AV) 27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. 29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. 30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. This was not the one-sided commandment for men that most think. Because that would be doing what those who held to the Hillel doctrine did to women. Jesus answered the doctrine without refuting it. His answer was in effect... You got Isaiah 47:1-3 and Leviticus 18:8 right, but you plum forgot all about: Job 31:1–13 (AV) 1 I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid? 2 For what portion of God is there from above? and what inheritance of the Almighty from on high? 3 Is not destruction to the wicked? and a strange punishment to the workers of iniquity? 4 Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps? 5 If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit; 6 Let me be weighed in an even balance, that God may know mine integrity. 7 If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands; 8 Then let me sow, and let another eat; yea, let my offspring be rooted out. 9 If mine heart have been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbour’s door; 10 Then let my wife grind unto another, and let others bow down upon her. 11 For this is an heinous crime; yea, it is an iniquity to be punished by the judges. 12 For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction, and would root out all mine increase. 13 If I did despise the cause of my manservant or of my maidservant, when they contended with me; This is how impossible it is for us to fully keep these laws, folks. So, I have learned that we are out from under the law to change the focus of believers on to other things than trying to keep the law. Hint hint... focus on Grace and getting others under Grace.

I hope people arent saying that the disabled should be forced to starve, freeze or be homeless. I include the mentally ill as disabled. I dont want charity for the feckless. I do want people to have the opportunity to help themselves if they can. Blaming someone for not working when there is no job, or blaming them for hunger or homelessness when they cant earn enough to eat or pay rent is not right. Discerning the difference is important. Compassion is the thing. Loving our neighbour as ourselves - we are all neighbours. Is there enough charitable voluntary giving on its own to support those who cannot support themselves?

  40. The case can certainly be made that by God's Law we all commit adultery every day of our lives. Isaiah 47:1–3 (AV) 1 Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate. 2 Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers. 3 Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man. Ladies, do you cover every inch of leg all the time so that no male sees any part of it (even if by accident)? How about covering your heads? Gentlemen, do you ever look upon a woman who is not your wife to admire their beauty or lust after their flesh? Hmm? Look around the next time you are in Church to see how many are abiding by Isaiah 47:1-3 or Matthew 5:27-30. When you have solved this... Matthew 7:1–5 (AV) 1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye. John 7:24 (AV) 24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. Ask yourselves, what matters more? That a model appeals to others with her faith? Or that all women who believe dress like Catholic Nuns?

  41. Queen Esther? Was she wrong to be entered into the beauty contest for Queen? [FOOTNOTE] I used to be a very vocal believer about covering up. I had every argument six ways from Sunday all prepped and scripture referenced from Leviticus to Isaiah to Jeremiah to Matthew 5 to 1 Peter 3:1-4... the way Jezebel painted her face to rebel against God before her death... etc. But when one stops imposing the Law of Moses on believers (as Grace dictates we are free from) and we focus on the commandments of the age of Grace (to love one another and witness Christ to every creature)... these petty arguments and self imposed attempts at self righteousness no longer burden or hinder us. Yes these things still be sin. Yes life is easier if we limit sin in our lives. But perfecting this life or things in this life is not our job. Our job is to get others saved once we are saved.

Isa 53:2 NKJV For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. Isa 53:3 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. 44. Hi Addison. First off, you cannot be saved and a tare. It is either or. There's the wheat, these are the sons of the kingdom of God, believers, and the tares are the sons of the devil, lost. In the end, the tares shall be gathered (reaped) by the angels, and cast into the fires. Your Savior will return for you. Being saved is the greatest hope, and assurance. God is able to keep that which you committed to Him, and not you. His word says this. When you were saved, as you have said, you became a soldier in the army of Christ. The enemy of Jesus is the devil, therefore your enemy. He, and his army of devils, goes about like a roaring lion, seeking whom they can devour. Including you. You sound like you are under attack, messing with your mind. False data. You need to remember, your fight is not people, but the unseen world, principalities and powers, devils and demons. Liars. And you are being lied to. You are being told you are worthless, no talent, can't sing, only 50/50. And you believe these lies. You need to gird up your loins, (roll up your sleeves) and fight. Here is God's way; (your in Christian boot camp) Eph 6:10-18 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. Our enemy, the evil ones army, are hitting you Addison with their fiery darts, lies, and you need to raise your shield of faith to stop/quench them. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word. Study about what we are in Christ, in scripture. Buy some books, E bay used are cheap. Plenty of books called "The promises of God" or "What we are In Christ", by EW Kenyon is one. On line, type in google "what does God say about blessing a Christian" or something like that. Read the psalms. Continue to ask others. The enemy cannot kill you, but he can wound you in your heart and mind, with his lies, and only if you believe them, and become discouraged as you appear to be. In Christ you can do all things. God says so. God is Light. He does not/ cannot lie. All His promises are true. And the more you read them, is like hiding them in your heart, that you may not miss God's targets, or sin. The more truth (scripture) you have stored in your mind, the less susceptible you will be against those fiery darts, accusations, feelings of worthlessness, and you become stronger in your FAITH! Without Faith, we cannot please God. This is a good step, Addison, reaching out. We have all been there, just like you. You're growing in the word. God says to study to show thyself approved, and not ashamed. Jesus Christ died for you Addison. You are seated (reserved seat) in heaven. You are not worthless and it is foolish to believe those lies. God loves you so much, he gave His Son, a sacrifice, for you. You belong to God Almighty. Of Great Value! So be it!!

  45. I make it a goal to help many people...if you really want to go personal. How about you, after all the Bible says to "love thy neighbor" and to care for the sick and the needy, nowhere does it say to let the government do it for you.

  46. Do not wonder for that which you do not know. Rest your feet on that which you do know - the street. Although it will be difficult. This is a journey only you can walk and no one else. The crosses are your destination. Follow the light. He left so that you may learn of yourself. And when you do you will "awake" to the reality of the experience.

  47. I think Jesus talks about doing the work his Father gave him many times. Every time I believe he is also talking about the healing and miracles and not just leading people to a real relationship with God the Father. The Healing and miracles were part of the prophecies of the Messiah. It is part of the answer he gives to John the Baptist when he is in prison. Speaking the truth of God should always be first but it should also be accompanied by the Spirit and power of God. Because the works of Jesus always included the demonstration of the Spirit and power of God as well. Firestormx Joseph
