  1. Fortunately for y'all I'll only make two (2) comments this time. You can show your appreciation and thank me for my brevity and no soap box by a thumbs up ? 1. I moved so far into the country sun light is piped to me and my kids are long out of the nest, so I'll never have to make that decision again whether to hand out candy at the door or let the kids go. 2. Our Christmas and Easter holidays originated as Pagan holidays also, according to the research I've done. See, it's painful, but occasionally I can be brief.

  2. Where to start first lets me start by saying I do believe in God and in Jesus as my savior. However I have not been a good follower; which will become evident by time you get done reading this. As of recently I have found myself with a deep desire to have a relationship with God. However I feel like a giant ball of yarn all knotted up. I have all these issues and sins and guilt that's not even funny. I don't even know how to fix myself. I don't know how to talk to God. To be honest I don't know God nearly as well as I like. So I feel stuck and don't know how to lay everything out to God when I don't understand myself or what is wrong with me completely. I also have another problem and this is the main reason I have come here. So up till a few weeks ago I was in a 9 year relationship with a married women. I ended that relationship a few weeks back. I still love and care about her but the relationship was wrong and due to her circumstance and mine we where never going to be able to be together so I ended the relationship. I was hoping we could be friends but well things didn't work out that way and I choose to walk away. She called me selfish, not capable of love, unstable. Maybe she right if so walking away was right thing to do. She did apologize for saying it as she was angry but I never responded back. I am not angry with her nor do I blame her for anything. I just feel that walking away from one another is best all around. The problem is I know that I said hurtful things to her. I did just as much damage as she did. I feel guilty over it. Part of me wants to go to her and apologize but I know if I do that I will be right back where I started. I don't want to end up right back where I started. I don't know if I am doing the right thing by not apologizing to her or if walking away is the right thing to do. Any way like said I am a big mess. I hope god can fix me cause I don't even know how to fix myself.

  3. I haven't had a witch or demon come by for candy in a few years..... mostly the frozen stuff and zombies for the darker side..... we usually have very small children with their parents and the parents aren't dressed up.... I used to have a problem with it, but we pray over all the kids that come by for their protection. And here it's mostly neighborhood kids that we know.

  4. Greetings to all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, WW, you have zeroed in on the mention of the four winds in three different passages of Scripture. If I understand you correctly, you are implying that it is a technical term that means more than north, south, east, and west. If the four winds is a technical term that refers to something other than the directions of the compass, and it means consistently the same thing throughout the Scriptures, then We would conclude that these winds will be held by four angels in the future. This holding either prevents the winds from blowing upon the earth, sea, and trees causing them to be hurt. Or it means that if they release the winds the earth, sea and trees will be hurt corresponding to the first four trumpet judgements. Also, it would be true that the breath that gives life comes from the four winds and that they in a future day will bring to life the whole house of Israel. Lastly, from these 3 texts, we see that at Christ's arrival the elect is gathered from these four winds. So, they can help or hurt the earth, sea, and trees, they can give life to the dead so that they are resurrected, and they are that from which the elect are gathered. But we shouldn't rely only upon these three references to inform us concerning the four winds, we should look at every reference to them. Jer 49:36 And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come. Dan 7:2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. Dan 7:3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. Dan 8:8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven. Dan 11:4 And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those. Zec 2:4 And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein: Zec 2:5 For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her. Zec 2:6 Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD. Zec 2:7 Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. Zec 2:8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. Mar 13:27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. Considering all the evidence it doesn't look like you have support for your claims. Also, the great multitude is made up primarily Gentiles, as it is said that they are "of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues". The word "nations" is translated from ethnos which is the word most often translated Gentile. They don't look like the same group to me. Glory to Jesus Christ

  5. Gary, I wasn't trying to disagree with you. I was pointing out a different meaning. I remember when I was confused by the Bible saying we should meditate. You probably were too. It took me close to 20 yrs to realize that the Bible doesn't mean to meditate in the Eastern, Hindu, or Buddhist way. So it's good you made this thread. Once a person learns to pray in the Christian contemplative way it's a useful thing. But deliberately making one's mind blank so a spirit can enter it will usually bring a godless spirit, aka devils, demons, or fallen angels. Btw, we need to do a thread on DMT because this is another way to contact un-godly spirits. I'm still learning about this but already I see that devils will use this especially with young people.

  6. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 is very clear. 13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words. I don't understand where the pre-trib. notion started, but the Bible is quiet clear. Only those already with Him, are returning with him, not those alive Christians caught up in some secret rapture having nothing to do with the return of Christ. The rapture has to do with HIS RETURN.

  7. Anything is possible when the concepts are not understood. Strong's Concordance oikonomia: stewardship, administration Original Word: οἰκονομία, ας, ἡ Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine Transliteration: oikonomia Phonetic Spelling: (oy-kon-om-ee'-ah) Short Definition: stewardship Definition: management of household affairs, stewardship, administration. The above is what is meant by dispensation. It's official duties entrusted to someone for a period of time. Nothing whatsoever to do with a change in conceptual application. Paul is only speaking of the administration of the Gospel and the managing the affairs of the Lord in relating the grace and love of the Lord for the purpose of saving those who would hear. It's always been grace. The Law is sin and death. The Law never saved anyone. And there are examples of those who were taken to heaven before the Law was given as well as the example of Noah. How did Noah find grace if we are only in the age of grace since the ascension of Jesus? It's always been grace but I suppose that doesn't help to bolster your perceptions.

  8. I deliberatly have not listened to the Senate show this week. Instead have prayed for our county to be protected by God. May this evil that is upon us be defeated. I will accept the result of this coming weeks events and decisions to be God's will for our nation. I trust it will be so no matter the particulars of what unfolds.

  9. Greetings to all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, As I said in a previous post, there are a few fundamental truths that the serious student of the Holy Scriptures must consider when adopting an eschatological model. Many of these are undeniable truths, truths which come from very explicit statements made by Christ, the Prophets, and the Apostles. Only those who will not see, are blind to these truths after the examination of the associated texts. Let's look at how the tenants of the Pre-Trib eschatological model measure up to these truths. Note: there are a thousand flavours of pretribulationism, so, if one or two of these are not describing your flavour, know that it doesn't apply to you but to those that believe such. So, please don't come whining to me saying "I don't believe that." 1) The day of the rescue (rapture) of the Church will be the day God's wrath unexpectedly begins to fall upon the unbelieving, Christ-rejecting, world. Luk 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. Luk 17:27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Luk 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; Luk 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Luk 17:30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. The typical pretribulationist believes that the day of the Lord (period of God's wrath) begins after the rapture (not necessarily on the same day), but that Christ's revelation (when He is revealed, verse 30) is described in Rev 19 and it happens at the end of the week. Pretribulationists believe the day of the Lord begins roughly seven years before Christ's revelation. This is completely contrary to the statement of Christ as recorded in Luke 17:26-30. Pretrib false tenant #1) The day of the Lord begins roughly seven years before Christ's revelation. 2) The day the church rests from persecution is the day of Christ's revelation in the clouds with the mighty angels initiating vengeance upon those who were our persecutors. 2Th 1:6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; 2Th 1:7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 2Th 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 2Th 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 2Th 1:10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. Pretribulationists believe that Christ's words to the Thessalonian Church really refer to the group they call the tribulation saints. This is true because they teach that Christ's revelation, as described in 2 Thes 1:7, doesn't happen until the end of the week when Christ is seen finishing off the Beast and His armies, as recorded in Revelation 19. So, according to their thinking, the tribulation saints do not rest from persecution until the end of the week. This also reveals that pretribulationists believe that God actually pours out His wrath upon His own faithful saints causing their deaths. They teach that the Beast is the instrument of God's wrath when he is putting the saints to death. How awful, and messed up one must be to think such a thing about the one true God and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who gave himself for us, to save us, and then pours out His wrath upon those He has saved. What a sick view of God those who think this way have. Pre-trib false tenant #2) It is another group of believers other than the church which will rest from persecution at the end of the week when Christ is revealed. Even though it isn't heralded from the rooftops the following is an essential belief of those who hold the pre-trib model for the rapture. It is essential because it is the obvious implication of thinking that the day of the Lord, that is the period of God's wrath, begins when the week begins. This makes all the persecution described in that week God's doing. They even believe that because Jesus opens the seals He is the one responsible for what comes upon the saints at the opening of the 4th and fifth seals. Pre-trib false tenant #3) God pours out His wrath upon His own in the form of the atrocities of the Beast and the False Prophet and their followers. 3) The church is not appointed unto God's wrath in the day of the Lord. 1Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 1Th 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 1Th 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 1Th 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 1Th 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 1Th 5:7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 1Th 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 1Th 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Pretribulationists, most of whom live in areas of the world where little to no persecution is experienced, believe and teach that they will not experience any of the unprecedented persecution of the great tribulation. This they believe is supported by Paul's comforting words to the Thessalonians: "for God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ". Many of them recognize the true context of Paul's statement to be the day of the Lord as mentioned in verse 2 of 1Thes 5. However, most of them believe that the period of unprecedented persecution, that Jesus called great tribulation, takes place within the day of the Lord as opposed to prior to it. Pre-trib false tenant #4) The church is promised to be spared all the events of the seventieth week, especially the unprecedented persecution of the great tribulation. 4) The watching believer will not be caught by surprise upon the day of the Lord. 1Th 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 1Th 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. In spite of this explicit statement, the pretribulational model is built upon the false teaching of an "any moment" rapture. They teach that Jesus will come to rapture His church unexpectedly, like a thief comes. They teach that the apostles taught that Jesus could come at any moment to gather His own to Himself. The nature of the teaching of imminency is to be caught by surprise. When one has no idea when it will take place it is true that when it happens it will be sudden or come unawares. Therefore they make Paul's words to watching believers to be a lie, because he said the day will not come upon us as a thief, for we are not in darkness and will not be caught suddenly or unawares at Christ's arrival on the day of the Lord. Paul said the day will not overtake us as a thief. There is no ambiguity in that statement. Pre-trib false tenant #5) Jesus comes as a thief to catch away His church. 5) The coming (parousia) of our Lord Jesus Christ begins and is equivalent to the day of the Lord or the day of Christ. 2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. In order to maintain a semblance of plausibility for their model, pretribbers must read a separation into many texts, just like they do into this one. They say the events Paul references in verse 1 are separated by 7 years. However, on many occasions, Paul or others connect the coming (parousia) of Christ with the catching up of the saints. In this text, Paul identifies the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together unto Him as the day of Christ. He tells the Thessalonians that that day, the day in which those events of verse 1 take place, is not at hand, that is not near in time. Jesus taught that His coming would be near in time when the great tribulation was taking place. Paul will tell them in verse 3 that Christ's arrival and continuing presence and our gathering to Him cannot come until the great tribulation and the results of it are seen. Paul teaches that the parousia and the rapture are two aspects of Christ's return and that they happen upon the same day. They are not separated by 7 years or any other amount of time. Pre-trib false tenant # 6) The coming of our Lord Jesus Christ is separated from our gathering together unto Him by seven years. 6) The cosmic sign spoken of by Joel and Peter must come prior to the day of the Lord. Joe 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. Act 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: Pre-tribbers have a cow when faced with the explicit statement of Joel concerning when God's wrath on the day of the Lord takes place. Joel says the day of the Lord cannot come until the cosmic sign He describes takes place. No cosmic sign, no wrath of God on the day of the Lord. I have heard so many lame explanations of this, attempts to get around the clear meaning of this text. Some have said that before means in front of or in the face of. However, Peter is quoted using the Greek word "prin" when he quoted Joel in Acts 2:20. "Prin" which is translated before, can only mean before in relation to time or sequence. It means "prior to". When Joel says before the great and terrible day of the Lord come, he means prior to the day coming. Others have said that there are many cosmic signs that take place in the last days, so we cannot be sure which one it is referring to. So, they pay no heed to the significance of this sign and forget that it even exists. Even when Jesus speaks of it in the Olivet discourse as a sign of His coming they pay no attention. They, in essence, say “nothing to see here”. Pre-trib false tenant #7) Pay no attention to the cosmic sign, “there is nothing to see there”. I'll have to finish this up later. All praise, honour, and glory to the Lamb

  10. Index and summaries of all articles is here: https://www.worthychristianforums.com/blogs/entry/1403-index-and-summaries-of-articles/ Part 4 When the Holy One reveals His Presence to those upon earth, both past (at Mount Sinai) and future (from heavenly Mount Zion), those of fleshly and soulish natures cannot enter within the sphere of the Presence, which manifests as a mass of clouds having the Light of God at its center. At such times, the third of the four types of people to see the event are those having the primary nature of the spirit [Hebr. ruach; Grk. pneuma]. In the Exodus-era prophetic picture, these were represented by Joshua. He was the only Spirit-level man of that soulish and carnal era. Whereas the priests and elders were called to ascend before God yet still remain “afar off,” Joshua the attendant of Moses was called to ascend upon the mountain itself: Ex. 24:12 Then the LORD said to Moses, Come up to me on the mountain and be there... 13 So Moses rose up, and his attendant Joshua: and Moses [and Joshua] ascended into the mountain of God. 14 And he said unto the elders, Wait here for us, until we come back to you. 15 Then Moses [and Joshua] ascended into the mountain, and the cloud covered/enclosed/clothed the mountain. “The cloud” here speaks of the outer covering – that is, the outer veil – of the Presence of God. In the Mosaic Tabernacle and Solomon's Temple, this was represented by the Holy Place (front chamber) of the sanctuary. When Moses and Joshua were enclosed within the cloud, they came into the Presence, from which the Adamic race had been cut off (with a limited few exceptions, e.g. Enoch) since the fall of Adam and Eve. This second-level ascent is a prophetic picture of the End Time Rapture of the Spirit-filled Church: Rev. 1:7 Behold, He is coming with the clouds… Luke 21:27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 1 Thes. 4:16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven... 17 Then we…shall be caught up…in clouds, into a meeting of the Lord in air. And so always with the Lord we shall be. To “always be with the Lord” is to eternally be clothed with = dwell within the Holy Presence. In the Exodus-era's prophetic picture of this, even though Joshua by necessity had to later descend from earthly Mount Sinai, Scripture tells us – Ex. 33:11 …[Moses'] assistant Joshua…did not depart from the tabernacle. The same is said of the Spirit-infilled believers caught up/Raptured to heaven in the End Times: Rev. 7:14 …the ones coming out of the Great Tribulation… 9 …clothed in white robes… 15 …[are to] serve Him [God] day and night in His [heavenly] sanctuary. The fourth type of people are those called into the very Light of the Holy Presence. In the Exodus-era's prophetic picture, Moses alone represented this type: Ex. 24:2 Moses alone shall come near the LORD… 17 The sight of the Glory of the LORD was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain... 18 So Moses went into the center of the cloud and ascended into the mountain… Ex. 33:11 And the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, like one speaks to his friend. Because of Moses' closeness to the Light of the Face of God, Ex. 34:29 …the skin of [Moses'] face shone while he talked with Him. [And for sometimes afterwards. 34:30-35] In the Mosaic Tabernacle and Solomon's Temple, the Most Holy Place (innermost chamber) of the sanctuary was the only place a man could approach near unto the Glory/Light of the Presence. The two chambers of the sanctuary represent the middle and highest of the three heavens (2 Cor. 12:2), requiring respectively greater levels of sanctity to enter. In the Seventh Millennium, apparently no man will be able to approach God face-to-face except for Jesus, the High Priest of the Melchizedek (heavenly) priesthood. All views of the Glory of the Father will be, as Ezekiel once described it, an “appearance of the likeness of the Glory of YHWH.” Ezek. 1:28 (Even Moses was only able to see “the form/similitude of the LORD.” Num. 12:8; cf. Ex.33:20) Not until the Eighth Millennium, when the old, sin-corrupted heavens and earth have “passed away,” and sanctified “new heavens and a new earth” have been created (Rev. 21:1; Is. 65:17; 66:22), will mankind be permitted to Rev. 22:4 …see/gaze upon His Face; and His Name shall be upon their foreheads.

  11. If, as people that lay claim to Christ, if our behavior does not fall into one of these categories, it is wickedness, evil, and sin. As believers this is simply, good and evil. There is no gray in God, all things in God fall into one of the two categories, either good which includes, love, righteousness, being a peace maker and all other good and proper things. And evil which is simply a elevation of self above that which is right. Let us, as those that wish to get our “well done thou good and faithful servant’s” strive for good and righteous behavior in all we do, say, think and imagine, so we might be counted as those that receive an abundant welcome. Much love in Christ, Not me

  15. That kind of thing bugs me. Why is a harvest festival (which churches put on here at the same time) acceptable and halloween isnt? They have costumes and candy etc and its celebrated at the same time. Either think halloween is ok and have your harvest festival or think halloween isnt ok and do not have any other festival. It seems hypocritical to have one and think the other is evil.

  16. A lot depends on where you live. Many years ago, an American Christian family came to live in the UK and joined our church. They were used to celebrating Halloween and were horrified to discover that it's a very different kind of festival in the UK. For one thing, in most areas it's relatively new (it didn't exist when I was a child, and I didn't come across it until the 1980s). The elderly don't like it because they are expected to open their doors to gangs of teenagers who can be quite menacing. Everything on sale in the shops is a celebration of witchcraft and other occult-related things. Most UK churches run "anti-Halloween" events for the children (such as "light parties"). Most Christians don't celebrate Halloween and try not to get involved (but some do see it as an opportunity to witness). I put a notice up in our window saying "Halloween-free zone, please don't trick-or -treat". But this is in the UK. I'm not telling Americans what to do.

  18. The key to looking at the seals timing is “after these things” of Revelation 4:1. So it begs the question “after what things?” which can only mean the preceding 3 chapters which is the era of the Churches. So by simple logic and using grade school grammatical construct, there is no basis for your assertion on seal timing. Your method is indeed allegorical. Keep in mind the very first verse of the book... Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, Now just from that, Yeshua was not aware of the details when you suggest, as He got the info from the Father and then gave it to an angel to give to John to write down for us. Remember... context is everything.

Here's my view as I do not throw the baby out with the bathwater: I: NOT a sin: dressing children up in costumes and knocking on doors for candy Or, if your neighborhood is not safe, having a trunk-or-treat in the church parking lot and children going to car to car where people have them decorated with trunks filled with treats having a festival at your church with games and such - especially if it rains and kids can't trick or treat watching some of the old scary movies on tv on the classics channel staying at home and passing out candy in a friendly manner and hopefully strengthening relationships with your community [please don't pass out Chick tracts instead of candy!] II: Sinful inappropriate costumes drunkenness inappropriate movies candy corn ? 23. Shalom, HAZARD. No, you're ASSUMING that he is talking about days, months, times, and years [THAT THE LAW REQUIRED}; those are YOUR words at the end, not Paul's! To whom is Paul talking? Isn't he talking to the GALATIANS?! Galatians were Gentile people of the province known as Galatia! Wikipedia notes: Thus, the "Galatians" or "Galli" were Gentiles of Asia Minor, now known as Turkey! Look at the first few words of Paul to the Galatians: Galatians 1:1-5 (KJV) 1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;) 2 And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia: 3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: 5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Then, he said, Galatians 1:11-2:10 (KJV) 11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. 13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: 14 And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. 15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, 16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen (Gentiles); immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: 17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. 18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. 19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother. 20 Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not. 21 Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia; 22 And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ: 23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed. 24 And they glorified God in me. 2:1 Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also. 2 And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain. 3 But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised: 4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: 5 To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. 6 But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me: 7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; 8 (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:) 9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen (Gentiles), and they unto the circumcision. 10 Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do. How could they "return" ("going back") to what they NEVER KNEW?! These were their GENTILE holidays and celebrations! What? Don't you think even the Galatians had their pagan celebrations?

  24. The 10 days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are known as the "Days of Awe", a short but intense time for deep introspection and repentance as the "New Year" begins. During this time, I was spending a few days in Eilat with my family as we concluded hosting a tour with 40+ people in Israel for two weeks. 26. Amen.. Your scripture quote adds affirming scripture that Jesus had the power to raise Himself from the Dead.. As we know the Father and Jesus are One.. Because the inspired word of God states clearly.. Romans 10: KJV 8 "But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; {9} That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." So your scripture is indeed truth.. and the scripture i posted before in my last post::: John 2: KJV 18"¶ Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things? {19} Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. {20} Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? {21} But he spake of the temple of his body. {22} When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said." Is also truth.. So God raised Jesus from the dead and Jesus raised Jesus from the dead,, Because the Father and Jesus are One..

  27. Well, you can't fix yourself when you are in a hot mess. None of us can fix ourselves. All we can do is to throw ourselves at God's feet. If you are a Christian, then the story of the prodigal [wasteful] son is a good starting point. Luke 15:11-32 You know the story, but read it anyway. The son just wanted to do his own thing - his own way - with no regard for his father. It ended him up in a literal pig sty. The messiest place for a Jew back in those days. It's a metaphor for being at absolute rock bottom and the farthest away from God. Pay close attention to the father's reaction when the son finally has enough of himself and comes home. The Bible says that even at a distance, his father could see him coming home. God sees you know, having typed this OP. The father in the story ran TO the son because he had compassion on him even in his stinky, pathetic state. God, if you are a Christian, has compassion on you and is ready to meet you and joyfully restore you as you repent of sin. To have that relationship with God - it's not rocket science, but it's something that so many Christians do not do. Read the Bible as often as you can. Read commentaries from reputable sources to help you. Pray often. Associate yourself with Christians who are doing the work of God. Allow the Holy Spirit to "renew your mind" as Romans 12:1-2 state. This is done by allowing the Truth to come into your heart and mind - from the outside in - via the Bible and allowing the Holy Spirit to change you from the inside out using those truths. Surround yourself with good Christian music and sing to God. Tell God in prayer that you want a restored relationship with him.

  28. We have 206 bones in the body. God chose one. Why the rib? When correctly removed, the rib is the only bone in the body that can regenerate into a full new bone. Only our God would know that. Before science, before man made fire, melted steel, or added 2+2. Amen.

  29. Hi Dennis, Well long time since June when I posted that. Actually the beginning of our Big trip around Aussie. So....I agree with you. Now many people have been taught that the Lord`s coming for the believers is imminent, however God`s word tells us that He will come when He has matured His Body to - `...the unity of faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.` (Eph. 4: 13) And the last great truth to be clarified by the Holy Spirit to bring us to that maturity is....where we are headed. There is a great push to get people to believe we are going up and then coming back to earth or going through the trib, and staying on the earth, etc all earth focussed. The truth is...the overcomers inheritance is with the Lord on His throne in the third heaven. And as the Apostle Paul says, `Let no one stop you from holding fast to the Head,` (Col. 2: 19) and `press towards the goal for the prize of the `on top` calling of God in Christ Jesus.` (Phil. 3: 14) more thoughts, Marilyn.

  31. GAL.4 [8] Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.[9] But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? [10] YE OBSERVE DAYS, AND MONTHS, AND TIMES, AND YEARS.[11] I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. So your saying Paul turned to weak and beggarly elements?

  33. I have a very different idea of what Contemplative prayer is. First look up the verb "contemplate", it means deep thought. So to me contemplative prayer means to pray about what I either just read (in the Bible) or it means to listen to what the Holy Spirit is telling me about things I've been asking Him about. It's really sad that some people are giving it a New Age meaning. I can see we've reached a point where before we debate something we better make sure we're defining our words the same. I've been doing Christian contemplative prayer for about 30 yrs. We do have to stay still sometimes and listen to God. And as we know, God usually speaks in a still small voice, He doesn't scream. Until a few days ago I didn't know the New Age people had changed the meaning of contemplative prayer. If you do it with God in mind it's a good thing.

  35. This is my first post here at WM aside from my intro post as a new member. Love to all. More people seem to be suffering from anxiety than ever before; perhaps for good reason, but I won't go into all we hear on the news. That would probably defeat the purpose here as I hope to offer a bit of comfort. I have always approached anxiety with what scripture says about fear. Well, anxiety is rooted in fear, and the Word is in no way ambiguous when it states that we are commanded to not fear. This is God's truth, for he has not given us a spirit of fear but of love, power and a disciplined mind (1 Tim 1:9. Tonight I feel like taking a more gentle approach as much for me as anyone. Sometimes God's tone in scripture can feel stern and like a good father, sometimes He is. But he is amazingly in love with his children. He adores us whether we are consumed with worry and anxiety or not. His Word also comforts. He wants us to feel safe with him and lay our weary heads upon his great shoulders spiritually. . The Lord wants us strong and ready to resist the temptation to be fearful and worrisome. But he is also the gentlest and kindest dad; protecting and loving every minute we spend with Him. Love to you.all. 2 Cor 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. Isaiah 66:13 As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; and you shall be comforted in Jerusalem. Isaiah 41:10 Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Romans 8:26-28 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

  36. J. N. Darby didn’t invent anything nor did M. McDonald. Darby did bring it into more popularity, but he hardly invented it. Pre-trib eschatogy can be found 200 years earlier than Darby and even in some early church writings. Not making the case that it is right, just stating facts in evidence. Too many folks have Darby on the brain complex. Primarily caused by listening or reading only those that fit one’s world view on these things.

  38. Oh how you Catholics love to twist the scriptures. [1] Catholics DO have to do indulgencies, Because they don't have enough faith in the finished work of Jesus. [2]Jn 20: 23, Isn't about men remitting sins, Jesus is talking to ALL His disciples in Jn 20: 19--15, NOT just the Apostles, And certainly NOT tabout the Un-Biblical Catholic priests. Jesus said it's when a person repents that there sins are remitted. Lk 24: 47. NOT when a man remits them. What Jesus meant, was, Every born again Christian can tell a repented person that there sins have been remitted. You CANNOT take ONE out of context verse to build a doctrine on, Yet Catholics do. [3]Jesus didn't build His Church on Peter, He said Peter was a STONE, Jn 1: 42, NOT a Rock. The Bible, Aramaic and Greek ALL prove that Jesus DIDN'T build His Church on Peter. And I can prove it. [4]Isaiah 22: 22 is a reference to Jesus, Rev 3: 7, NOT to Peter. So you can see how the Catholics twist the Bible Aramaic and the Greek. Next time don't right so many points, just do ONE point at a time.

  39. Patrick There is no further punishment for sin physical or monetary sacrifice for sin. We confess our sin and then forsake it before Christ in true repentance. We do not have to prove anything to the church but to our Father in heaven . Indulgence is not a practice of the church Jesus founded. Your church forgot that the sin dept was fully paid. Your church took apon itself authority to enforce its own will upon the ignorant. respectfully

  40. I love this topic, Debp. Thanks for posting it. Sadly, kindness is sometimes under discussed and under rated. Worst of all, is when it is under practiced. Yet it is such a significant trait of a Christian. I wanted to share some of my favorite verses on this topic: "Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart." Proverbs 3:3 "And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?" Micah 6:8 "So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." Colossians 3:12

  44. My dear brother, 1stly, thank you for your reply in answer to my questions and I guess that all I can say now is, fulfill her wishes. If she just wants to be left alone to work things out herself, so be it. As hard as it sounds, I guess you can only be courteous toward her always. It certainly is far from ideal to be living in that environment, and the children will certainly pick up on the "coldness" between you both, not good. They need stability in their growing up years, in a loving, caring environment. Otherwise, as they grow, their outlook on life gets distorted, and it will digress to the next generation, (exactly what satan wants). I don't know whether your wife has even considered what she is injecting into their mental wellbeing by this display of "love lost" toward you. Sometimes we need to just get a "kick up the backside" and be told to "grow up" be an adult, and get on with life. I mean, how many of us are born with "a silver spoon" in our mouths, and everything is fine and dandy. Life is always sending us "curve balls" we just have to deal with them when they come, pick ourselves up, and just get on with life, make the best of it. I don't know that I can add much more to this thread onedirection, unless you want to continue to converse, I only pray that what has been said helps you in your quest, and, as always, God bless.

  45. Memories can be implanted in individuals, to them the memory becomes real. What they recount is not true, but they do not lie, nor are they liars. The horror that was the McMartin's criminal case from Redondo Beach California was my first encounter with the idea of memories of things that never happpened actually being implanted, and thus becoming true to the one remembering and recounting the memories of an event or series of events that never were real. It takes evidence not accusation to lend value to memories. In the McMartin case there became several accusers all based upon memories of events that never occurred. So it does take more than just multiple individuals coming up with a similar memory. Least it should take more, but now as it was then at the McMartin case the burden has been shifted to the accused having to prove a negative rather than "law" having to prove a positive. Those people became guilty by accusation without any supporting evidence. The crime was so heinous everyone or near everyone wanted the m to be found guilty- but there was no crime, just the accusation of one. Without the burden of proof being on an accuser emotions will rule the day, and politicians will use emotion to overcome reason to their own profit over the country's well being. Praying for this country to survive the great evil that is upon it now.

  46. Together means all those who are alive. The dead come back with Christ. Period. And those who are alive are joined with them at the second coming. What it is not is there is a secret rapture of the alive and dead, and then 7 years later the dead and the alive come back with Christ to meet the Christian Jews who are alive and have remained on earth..
    1 point
  47. Even though you read it that way, I see it just the opposite. If there was a rapture seven years (or even 3 1/2) before Christ returns, then the alive would return with the dead, not meet them in the air at the second coming.
