Ok I understand, but why choose women pastors? We all know its a huge topic of debate.

Good point. Interesting that a topic of misogyny has a man introducing the topic of women being unfit to pastor due to their gender. That's not misogyny necessarily though misogyny can be a component on an individual basis. It is however, a gender prejudice. Especially when neither Jesus nor God said that women would never be called by God to serve as pastors.

The text that gender prejudice typically uses to defend itself is where Paul made remarks about women remaining quiet in church. That has nothing to do with pastoral duties. Further, it would be absurd to invoke Paul as articulating gender prejudice under guidance from God's holy spirit, when it is also believed under guidance from God's holy spirit Paul said there is no Greek, nor Jew, nor any other thing that separates us because we are all one in Christ Jesus. That declaration would be erroneous if it was to be inferred to sustain gender prejudice by saying instead, "there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. But you are segregated by gender if women think to preach because they can't. Because they're women!"

Which is what gender prejudice attempts to promote of itself when making that stipulation against the oneness of all faithful in Christ.

It just doesn't comport with the truth of Christ.

Let's not take it there.  Apple's and oranges

You are the one who asked the question and then when someone answers, you don't like it, so you dismiss it as being irrelevant.  Interesting.

Did you have any personal motive for asking this question?  Just curious.

Well thought out words my brother or sister.

I have taken it a step beyond by questioning how much weight do you give to LETTERS giving instructions to a specific church in a specific culture in a specific time?

I agree...we must look at the TOTALITY of the scriptures and then decide.

How should men treat women?

As equals....as one in Christ with every man.

And of course, husbands should be willing to die for their wives.

I am sure nobody is saying women cannot server in war or the military.  The question I have heard is what position would they serve best in.

No, I'm calling the people who think to interpolate the scriptures to say women can't be called to service by God, when scriptures show that is not the case, naive, ignorant, and arrogant. And prideful thinking their ego's know more than does God. As if God would deliver the message that we're all one in Christ and then say, but because we're women he'd never see us fit to preach his word. Speaking for God in a way that denotes prejudice is far worse than naive.

You realize this, don't you?

Can you show me where anyone on this site ever said that women cannot be called into service by God?

I am speaking of the US military when I posted, as that was what the question derived from.  There are many other nations who place women in heavy combat, we all know this.

I thought we decided to use this definition that Happiness gave:

1.hatred, dislike, or mistrust of women, or prejudice against women.

It is more than just hatred.
