  6. 2 Peter 1:4 (NASB) For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust. Faith in the promises of God. We are called to faith. For the just shall live by faith. These promises of God are for all that would choose to lay hold of them. The Divine Nature come to birth in the believer is what salvation is. For Jesus said; “you must be born again”. This new birth is the Divine Nature come to birth in the believing heart. It is this Divine Nature growing and manifesting itself is what Christian growth is. This growth of this new life in us is brought forth by the believers faith and their willingness to yield themselves to it. “For to whom you yield yourself to him are you servants of.” It is in the yielding to this new nature that causes this new nature to grow in us. As a regenerated person there are now two natures in us the old and the new. Whichsoever one we choose to obey the fruit of that nature will manifest itself. Sin unto death or righteousness unto life. Christ or self is the constant choice set before man. Scripture says; “the will is present with me” It is the will that would be willing to believe these exceedingly great and precious promises. “I will cause you to walk in my statutes” “I will put a new heart in you” “He will perfect that which concerns you” So many promises of God for those for whom Christ died. It is the Divine Nature coming to rule the life that is that that overcomes the world, the flesh and the devil. All things that man would and needs to be saved from are the fruit of these great and precious promises. Oh the joy, the peace, the security, the hope the heart has when in child like trust, it turns to the one Who died that that soul might have life and life so abundantly. Blessings to all that would be willing to grab unto these great and exceeding precious promises and prove the truth of them. Much love in Christ, Not me

  7. Well, I guess you would not like it that I think God put Donald John Trump into the whitehouse to give this country one last chance to turn from the direction it was going.... He's done more for giving Christians more freedom and protection than any president in a very long time... You really need to get away from CNN and find somewhere that will tell you what is going on..... That so called child torture was actually set up by the Obama administration and greately aggravated by the 9th ckt's decisions and congress's failure to change the situation..... DHS has it's hands tied unless you really just want to let people come across the border openly...…. and if we did do that who would take care of them????

  8. Kristin, He wants us far more than anything we can do for Him. He so sincerely delights in working through us, earning that prize FOR us, and honestly, all we have to do is want Him. Sis, i was plagued by a NEED to have something in my hand to offer Him, so He could love me. I kept trying to DO..and do...and do...and clean myself up...i'd repent of my sins and DETERMINE i would not go back...and found myself returning to sin over and over and over. Like a dog returns to it's own vomit..so will our flesh based, WILL-power based efforts to clean ourselves up ALWAYS end. It grieves Him when we fail to realize He cannot love us any more than He does right now. He gave ALL to have us. There is no more love He can give. That cross is the loudest shout of love this creation will ever hear. He loves us because of who we are, thought of from before the foundation of the world as someone, a UNIQUE someone He longed to fellowship with for all eternity. And He knew every flaky, evil, selfish thing we'd ever do BEFORE He decided death was preferable to being denied our fellowship. You know what He did? He broke me....He put me in a place where i knew I had nothing to offer at all and never would. And right there, He began to speak kindly, to show me His love, and for the first time in my life I began to FEEL what it meant to be loved. In all my mess, feeling icky and nasty....He just loved me. And He began to explain works to me with a parable. I imagined a loving Father, a craftsman with a well appointed workshop and a son He loves. This Father would invite His son into His workshop and show the boy his tools, explain them, teach safe use. Eventually He bought a kit to make a beautiful radio controlled airplane, and gave it to the boy...having trained him in how to use the tools safely, He encouraged the boy to begin assembling the plane. Letting the boy do most of the work, figuring out the instructions, making a start while Dad provided more instruction and oversight. Now what's going on here? Why is this Father inviting His son to do something He could do much faster and with much greater quality in the finished product? He may genuinely look forward to the day He can fly that plane with His son, but its not about the plane. It's an excuse to spend TIME with his son, and while the boy is all excited about the plane, He's gently sowing into the boy all the things he needs to grow into a healthy, productive adult who can one day be trusted with ALL the tools in the shop and become a craftsman in his own right. While the boy is learning, gaining skills and confidence, Dad is teaching...and without the boy even realizing he's being taught, formed, molded... He's not impressed by our works, nor is His love in the slightest bit contingent on how well we do them. Sure He's sowing in what we need to be producers of quality work, but if we muff it He'll just go get another kit and we can start over. Dunno how many kits He's bought me so far....lost count. But He delights in our PROCESS. He knows the end already. If He was depending on us He might get as worried as we tend to sometimes. But He's not, He is FULLY confident in His great love for us, and power toward us, and ability to get us through and finish the good work He has begun in us. He's not surprised at our stumbles, He knew we'd make them before we did. There is no condemnation for us in Him. Yes, if we rebel, like any good Father He will discipline appropriately. It hurts too But discipline is training in righteousness, it's never about wrath. Wrath is never for the children. I work with people now who so desperately need to know they are loved. It grieves me really, really badly when I see people claiming He will abandon us if we don't get it right....those I am close to really need to know it's His grace that saves us and His love is sure. His love is the very earth...the soil...that holds our roots in place and nourishes us so we can grow. All we have to do is believe.....and it's hard sometimes. When we stumble shame will try to make us hide from Him and if we do we're hiding from the only answer there is to the stumble. Shame is a satanic counterfeit of the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Shame feels so similar to our experience, the only way we can tell the difference is by what the feeling inspires us to do. If we are inspired to run and hide from Him....its SHAME. The Spirit's conviction is a Godly sorrow that drives us BACK into His presence because we're grieving over the broken fellowship that is grieving HIM! And it only lasts as long as needed to bring us back to that place of repentance. Shame and blame are both mind games the devil plays with our heads. Thats a twenty second process....ten if you talk fast But we struggle to believe it.....if shame comes in after repentance....it is NOT from Him. What HE has cleansed let no man call unclean...not even you. GET UP! Don't wallow in shame He has applied His FINISHED work to our sin ...confess it and be done with it....He is. It is shame and unbelief that traps us in flesh based willpower fights against sin. And those fights we always lose. confess and GET UP! "But brother, I JUST confessed this same sin yesterday! I went right back to it!" So? 1 John 1:9 is still His answer. Do we believe it? Confess it again, and again, and a stinkin' 'gin every time you must and as often as you need to. He WILL transform us so we come to a place of freedom from being drawn back to it. We begin by fearing the consequences, He is just and to fear Him is the beginning of wisdom. But that is not the end of wisdom. The HIGHEST wisdom is to love Him. And when we get to that place where we KNOW we are loved, the battle against sin completely changes focus. He will bring us to a place where desires change and the relationship becomes so important, so precious, we don't sin because we don't want to mess this up! We're no longer running from something....sin...we're running TO something beautiful..... You go girl.....He loves you whether you manage to put any sin down permanently on this try or not...He always has and always will. He loves us, and He PROVED it................ 2000 years before we were even born. I got yer back sis....and I will have it...in prayer, as long as He keeps you on my mind. You are fighting the good fight...and not fighting it alone. I dunno how to be short...I got more on my heart. I might dump another little testimony in your thread later

  13. Reading your post I couldn't help something coming to mind. I was brought up with the saying, "if you can't say something nice about someone, keep your mouth shut". Had Hillary become president my tongue would be bleeding from biting it with my teeth to keep my mouth shut... IMHO Trump has his faults and sins just as we all do. I've heard credible reports he accepted Christ as his Savior but only the Lord knows for sure. I do know a few things for sure about Trump; he has America's best interest at heart; he puts his money and actions behind his words supporting our military; he's a nationalist and not a globalist; he officially changed Happy Holidays back to Merry Christmas; he often respectfully invokes them name and help of God. I've heard at official meetings they open with prayer. He has accomplished more national 'good' under hostile political conditions than any other president in my life time. IMO is was divine intervention he won the presidency and God placed him in office for His will and purposes.

  14. If you can avoid a loan I would, but if you have to, try to have a rough idea of how you'll be able to pay it off and when you'll be able to start. Then increase your estimates on how long it will take you to get back to work and how long it will take you to pay the debt off by around 50-100% to help account for the unexpected. The change in hormones from pregnancy to post-pregnancy can certainly be rough on a person. Based on your situation you seem to have a lot of stress factors in your life as is without the pressure of a loan to pay off adding to it.

  15. If I'm butting in deeper than i should, forgive me. But I want to suggest that taking on debt, especially for daily "consumption", in most cases is not wise. We should have ONE ruler over our life and if we subject ourselves to a lender it is very possible to get ourselves into a position where we are unable to respond to Him with full obedience without breaking an oath to repay. That is not a situation He wants us in. If we can simply trust that He funds what His will is, and wait for Him to do that His way, we can escape that potential trap. It may mean a period of enduring not having all we desire, but the price of getting out of debt (bondage) can be very, very high. It is much easier to bow the knee to a banker than it can be to wait on Him sometimes...but it is worth it. I'd just ask you to be very reticent and check with Him before taking on debt, for any reason. I marvel at how many churches burden their congregations with egregious debt to pay off in the name of pursuing a vision. I lost a position on a church board one time for taking that stance and got told I lacked faith Presumption is not faith....

  16. Just read an article about how the President dropped in twice at a wedding at one of his properties. The bride and groom are big supporters and were thrilled. Apparently the President drops in often to weddings when he is on site. Also, the President made a phone call to a dying man whose wish that was. The dying man's sister, a Democrat, arranged the call. The President wanted to have the man in the front row of a rally but sadly the man passed away a few days later. I would have posted the article but it had two videos in it. Anyhow, it's nice to read some nice things about our President. I also know he works closely with pro-life groups as I know the leader of a pro-life group here, and the President does conference calls with them and other groups.

  17. I love when Gideon speakers come to our church and bear witness to God's Word not coming back to him void. The stories are absolutely absurd sometimes, but they only prove that God can and will do what it takes to get his Word into the hands of people. Here is a story from our speaker today at church. Our speaker today is involved with the overseas sector of Gideons International. He said he was in the Ukraine not long ago and working with a particular church and the community in getting Bibles out to the people. He met a man with a testimony. It was this - The Ukraine man, like others in that particular town, would have storks make nests on his roof. He said in that particular town, people felt that the storks brought "good luck" and they would not bother the nests - no matter how much of a mess it made. The man in question got sick of the storks on his roof. He was bound and determined to clean it all up. His got his ladder out and began climbing up and cleaning. His neighbor came running out and said, "No! You can't remove those nests! You'll lose all your luck!" The man was not swayed in the least, he kept picking up pieces of nests and putting them in a trash bag. One of the nests had a small piece of paper in it. The man picked it up and looked at it. It was a half of one sheet of a small Gideon New Testament in the Ukraine language. He read it. It contained a portion of Romans 5 - justification by faith alone. He got to the part where it said "For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation." The man said he just sat on his roof and began to talk to God. "They taught me that you aren't real!!", he said. "If you are real, God, save me from my sins." He was saved a found a church to attend. God said that his Word will not come back to him empty. He'll use a used and empty bird's nest if necessary. And one of his creatures, a stork, to use a half-page from a small new testament to line her nest with. God is not joking around with his Word. Nor is the power of it to be denied.

  18. Well, the time it happened here , was a long while back . To my knowledge it seemed the person must have repented , because they have never called me that since . But its been far worse on other sites . Believe it or not , on this forum , I have been treated like a king compared to most other places . Not that I seek to be treated as such , and yes I know I am not treated as a king here , but that is just a comparision . LET US REJOICE when persecuted . And let us forgive those who persecute us . I only desire what is Good for the people . ITS JUST I know THAT JESUS LOVED ABOVE ALL , HIS sayings being loved the apostels sayings being loved , IS what is GOOD for the people . I truly wish that all would start over , IN JUST the BIBLE . And watch what would happen . Folks who saw some of us as being legalistic , would know we are not . But that I just desire all Things that JESUS said , to be loved by odediance unto all things HE did teach . The beauty of it , is that its not too late for anyone to start over . I truly wish and pray that we would have and read from ONE BOOK , the bible . And things would really start clearing up . So quickly too .

Listen I didn't tolerate things being said about President Clinton, Bush, Obama -- so it's not going to change with this president either. Just like we don't talk negatively about other ministries. We don't tolerate it -- it's unbecoming as saints of the most High My reasoning is simple ... do you read in ANY of the EPISTLES any negatively concerning Caesar ... or the Roman government who were SLAUGHTERING and CRUCIFYING Christians by the thousands in the 1st century? Nope ... they lived ABOVE it! Life is too short to get caught up with the anger, resentment and hostility the world is so engulfed in.

Please don't take this as an attack, ...but are you saying we should be quiet, ignore the facts and just accept the murder of innocent infants (incidentally, the most dangerous place in America for a child today is not on the streets, ...but in it's mother's womb) ...and continue on with furthering the Kingdom of God?

  22. Ever since Satan was cast as profane from the mountain (kingdom) of God (Ezekiel 28:16) he has been opposing God at every turn. He doesn't need Jesus to open any seals to cause him to do so, as you suggest. That is his M.O. and it will be until he is cast into the lake of fire. THIS is what Jesus did after He ascended. Read it carefully. It sounds nothing like what you suggest. But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore it says, “When He ascended on high, He led captive a host of captives, And He gave gifts to men.” Now this expression, “He ascended,” what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things. And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:7-13 What did Jesus do? He gave gifts to the church. For what purpose? To equip the saints for the building up of the body of Christ. NOWHERE does it say that He opened seals to oppose the spreading of the gospel. You've gotten so far from the truth that you are saying things that contradict scripture. Jesus is not double-minded. He does not give gifts to further the gospel on one hand and then open seals to oppose the gospel on the other. Absurd.

  34. @Jostler Thanks for mentioning Joshua and Ai the other day. That led to me finding an article I wanted to share with you and the Worthy family. GBU. Jericho and Ai: Joshua’s Painful Lesson on Dependence Joshua was devastated. Thirty-six of his men lay dead and the nation of Israel was defeated and demoralized. Joshua was confused, clueless and even angry. Why would God let this happen? And how could God’s people be humiliated in battle by a little village like Ai? Just a few days before, Joshua was the triumphant conqueror. The mighty city of Jericho lay in ruins and Israel rejoiced. Having polished off a walled, armed city like Jericho, a tent village like Ai did not present much of a challenge. They decided that the entire army was not even needed to tackle Ai and only three thousand were sent up the hill to do battle. Then, the reports started pouring in from the battle. Israel was routed, dozens dead, the mighty army of Yahweh defeated. So Joshua did what he had seen his mentor Moses do whenever things went wrong. He fell on his face before God and called out to him for help. “Why did you let this happen, O God?” he whined. And then God spoke, with surprisingly brusque words. “Get up off your face, Joshua.” It was not a time to pray. It was not a time to seek God’s blessing. There was nothing to pray about until Israel faced its sin and repented. Then, and only then, would the blessing of God-given victory continue. I see three serious mistakes that Israel made that day. The first two mistakes were bad enough, but the third mistake cost 36 people their lives. First, Israel became self-confident. Wait a minute, Dave, isn’t self-confidence a virtue? You have a hard time finding that in scripture. It was certainly no virtue in this passage. When the spies returned, they told Joshua, in Joshua 7:3, that they would not need the whole army. It would only take two or three thousand to conquer this city. They relied on their own ability. Where did this presumption come from? What had Israel done to defeat Jericho? One thing. One thing only. They obeyed. When God said march, they marched. And the walls came a-tumblin’ down. It was not Joshua’s leadership or Israel’s military prowess that won the battle. It was God’s power. But now,Israel was taking credit for what God had done. “A mighty army like ours, having just defeated Jericho, will find little challenge against Ai.” Remember this: In the power of God, no enemy is too big. Greater is he that is in you… But in the power of self, no enemy is too small. You can be defeated by anything in this world if you trust in yourself and rely of your own power. Those who trust in Christ will never be disappointed, but those who trust in themselves will be amazed at their ability to fail. Second, Israel was careless. Achan had sinned against God, taking spoils from Jericho against the command of God. Israel had sinned and God would not bless them until the sin was dealt with. Today, we want to think that God has changed his mind, that he will bless us whether we are obedient or not, whether we walk in the flesh or in the Spirit. God’s love and grace is eternal and unrelated to any merit in us. But God’s blessings, his active favor on our lives, come to those who submit and walk under the Lordship of Christ. When Israel repented, the blessing of God returned and Ai was defeated. But the victory at Ai, in Joshua 8, reveals the fatal flaw in Joshua’s leadership in Joshua 7. Israelwas self-confident and careless, but there was a bigger problem. Finally, the battle of Jericho was won because Israel did what God told them to do, the way God told them to it. In Joshua 8, the battle of Ai was won because Israel did what God told them to do, the way God told them to do it. There is a pattern in victory; God commands, his people obey, and God acts in power. In Joshua 7, Joshua acted independently, entirely on his own. God did not say, “Attack Ai.” He did not give battle plans. Joshua sent out the spies. Joshua made the decisions. He never sought God. If he had gone to God before the first battle of Ai, God would have said, “Deal with your sin first.” Thirty-six men would not have had to die. The man or woman of God who wants victory does not act independently. He does not listen to the will of man or the ways of the world. He does not expect God to bless his agenda but seeks to submit himself to the agenda of God. It is not the size of our enemies or our armies that matters; it is our dependence on God that makes the difference between victory and defeat. Joshua learned at Jericho that a weak army, dependent on and obedient to God could defeat any foe. He learned at Ai that God’s people, sinful and self-reliant, could be defeated by the smallest things.

  35. Nothing is wrong sis, you just need to be taught what Communion is all about, it's more than partaking of the elements, look what Terry sang, We worship our God in humble submission for who He is, Bow and worship, broken hearted at Your feet, We bow broken hearted at His feet because we realize we have issues and there is nothing we can do about them, ...but He can, ...and that's what communion is all about, ...remembering what He has done for us. With this cup I remember the Blood that He bled out for us on that Cross, ...without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins, With this bread I break and eat, ...this is My body broken for you, ...by His stripes we are healed, May I humbly suggest you go online and search for a Nave's Topical Bible, it's free in pdf format, or google eSword, free also, it's a Bible Study aid for PC with lots of good stuff and Vines is there too, that way you can look at every reference for Communion, and other topics, in the Word and study for yourself. Also, like Heybro said, you can take Communion in you own home, the only command Jesus gave us is, ...Do this in remembrance of Me, ...and don't get hung up on what to use, Father is looking for those that worship Him in spirit and Truth, so what we use as a point of contact in not important. Lord bless beloved

  37. He has revealed a lot to me through the examples recorded for our sake in the stories of Israel's trials and triumphs in the Old Testament. One thing of note was recognizing that as He empowered His people to take the land promised to them, His plan for each battle was unique. We have a "promised land" to take as well and we too will be required to understand the difference between self-reliance and listening obedience. We can learn from the victories and mistakes ... or repeat the mistakes and suffer loss.

  43. Okay bro, here I am. And my story, it will be brief. When first getting online back in 1998, my wife and I discovered a chat site. It was secular, but there were a number of Christians on it, and anyone could open a room. Well, my wife found some guy, and they would spend hours behind locked doors, and shut in another room chatting. I would remain in the living room, where my activity was open, above board, and honest. Anyway, soon enough private phone calls started occurring, and it went on for hours on end. And it would go like this every evening, just like clock work. Eventually, she (thought) fell in love with this total stranger that she knew in the very short time of communications with each other. After 10 years of marriage, and on the day after Christmas, I woke up and she had left. Gone. And I never heard from her again. Abandoned, desolate, and broken hearted. I cried my eyes out for months on end. It was just totally sad. About a year and a half ago, I heard from a girl friend of hers, that she had passed away. That totally numbed me out for a month or so, and once again fell into the depths of despair. It was very hard on me. Yes, there are still times of deep sorrow, but I had to on with the Lord. Praise God, He helps me through each dark and dreary day. Not all days are so down trodden, I do have some that are better than others. Praying for your situation, and hope it gets better for you. Hang in there. God bless. Shalom, David/BeauJangles

  47. With each passing day that explanation is becoming more and more plausible and believable. The world has been conditioned to believe in ET'S and UFO'S for quite some time now. Signs and wonders, being deceived that; if it were possible even the very elect would be deceived, believing the lie, supernatural events coming upon the earth. Commanding fire coming down from heaven, etc. I've thought about what could be so powerful and believable that it would deceive the whole world myself and they would buy into the deception? Naturally I don't know for sure; but a strong pattern has developed and emerged; even the government is officially getting in on it recently and disclosing video and some information; and changing procedures for military encounters with UFO'S. I'm sure you're aware of all the fuss lately on major media outlets such as Fox News; and the release of classified secret video, active field grade military officer testimony, secret funding of UFO investigations and the public cry and interest of everything ET and UFO related? Even the worlds largest religion; the Vatican and their search for extraterrestrial life on Mt. Graham and the Popes bizarre statements about baptizing aliens. Is all this leading to something? The globe is screaming for someone to fix our numerous problems; economic, starvation and famine, global warming, NBC war, sanitary drinking water, civil unrest, global inequity, etc. We know whom this man will be and the powers he possesses. The people who receive his mark and worship him: We know all the events in Revelation occur rapidly; it doesn't appear receiving this mark whatever it is is drawn out over a period of time, but almost immediate. There has to be another great incentive other than buying and selling to rush and receive their damnation? They rejected Jesus as their Lord and Messiah, but will receive this man coming in his own name. Just my view as time and events are unfolding. Like I said, my thinking maybe totally out of the ballpark; but there's a pattern that is developing that points in this direction; the prince and powers of the air.

  49. If the Lord Jesus didn't send any message to the Roman Catholic Church, then He didn't send any message to the Baptist Church, or the Methodist Church, or the Pentecostal Church - or indeed any other church that exists today! Why are there seven churches? Seven is a symbolic number; these seven churches stand for the whole Church. If the book of Revelation had been intended just for the seven churches mentioned, it would never have ended up in our Bibles!
